Best part concerning the rear seating with the seats up my German Shepard has a lot of room which is very easy on the driver I have a 2018 lariat that is super loaded drives unbelievable so many options it’s been 2 years I still don’t know all of them had I been younger I would have bought the raptor but my lariat is the best vehicle I have owned in 45 years of driving an I can’t imagine a better one ever being made well done FORD
And believe it or not, depending on how you drive the Gen 1's you can still get pretty good fuel economy despite that extra 500 pounds. I've got the 2010 with the V8 6.2 and I have gotten 15.8 mpg's as a "daily driver" but it also depends on your tire pressure as well. I keep between 64.5 and 65 psi and it does make a huge difference on the highway drives. Short trips will kill any fuel economy but overall I am happy with the fuel mileage. I've also got a fuel saving sticker on my rear window that reads "not fast just loud" I usually keep it between 55 and 60, but I've had to give it the beans a time or two and it will stomp the yard when necessary.

A solid profile on the new Raptor, you covered it well! For that kind of money they should have kept the V-8, Ford is obsessed with small displacement motors now & with the turbo they just won't last as long as a V-8. Many simply prefer American tried & proven V-8's. I think the Ram has the best half ton truck, power, great looks & options.

Ike N I have a 2018 Mustang GT and it is a good daily driver, so I imagine the GT500 would be even better. The extra speed comes in handy for yellow lights and turning into traffic.

I have a 20 Raptor Supercrew in the Leadfoot color. Really liking it so far. I was looking at the Chevy trail boss at first but because it’s nothing more than a Silverado with a spacer lift and all the GM issues I had with my ZR2 I decided to pass on it.
For 90% of purchasers that are only looking for the 4x4 side of things to get them through a snowy winter on the streets a RAM Rebel or other variant is a smarter purchase. Not as wide as an H1 and a lot more refined inside.

Asaad Dennis - Tesla wouldn’t be able to compete with F150 on price. The stainless plate origami is is how they can make those $40,50,70k prices work, and the performance. Base Rivian is $70k. The capex for CyberTruck is much lower across the production ramp, and Tesla is too cash constrained to add pickup lines at the cost that Rivian-approach would entail.
i went to the ford dealer today and they had a $15,000 mark up just because on the raptor CRAzy. Im getting one but not paying $74,000 plus tax which is 10% in LA plus markup no way

I’ve had the opportunity to drive it for prolonged periods before and can’t remember the dB ratings...but typically I would do 70mph on concrete interstate and 55mph on either surface county road and both were around maximum average 69-70 dB if I remember right. It’s still a pretty quiet truck

I can listen to a soft music as I’m home. I know the truck is a truck I just try to show you a perfect silence for me on the road. 60-65 dB is great for example.

Power seats are standard, glad you caught that and 17 (Gen2's) was the first year for the Raptor to be 500lbs lighter (than the Gen1's, 2010-2014).

I’ve had the opportunity to drive it for prolonged periods before and can’t remember the dB ratings...but typically I would do 70mph on concrete interstate and 55mph on either surface county road and both were around maximum average 69-70 dB if I remember right. It’s still a pretty quiet truck
Prime Autotainment Thank you. I’m aware of constant noise on a long trips. When driving 4 to 7 hours I just getting tired quick in a noisy car. The Velar is a great example of a quiet car. I can listen to a soft music as I’m home. I know the truck is a truck I just try to show you a perfect silence for me on the road. 60-65 dB is great for example.

K9 388 prove it. Post the statistical data in all four categories showing the “competition” numbers for the last 40 years. Ford only holds the top spots on 17 of those years, and it’s never in all four categories in the same year.
Texas Owl maybe you misinterpreted my first statement. Ford trucks have led sale for 41 years. Specifically the F-150. Which is the top selling vehicle of all time from US. Can’t remember if the beetle is a little or the opposite. But realize Germany issued this car for there people by the communism.
K9 388 didn’t misinterpret anything. Look at your statement. You said no competition without specifying your unit of measure (sales?). And actually if you pull commercial/fleet sales out of that, they are 3rd in sales. And the only reason they lead in commercial/fleet is because for 34 of those 42 years they offered trucks the cheapest, by over 2.3k per truck. It’s a simple numbers game with money when it comes to business purchases. You measure the actual numbers of trucks sold to a typical consumer and the numbers required by them (hp, torque, interior, etc). Ford is either in last or second last.
You do a great job of reviewing vehicles. You must have a great love of automobiles. I would love to see the 5.2 Mustang engine in the Raptor, though. But, the new 7.3, tweaked for performance would make you pee yourself. Thanks, Nolan...enjoyable.
