  • Welcome to my channel y'all! If you’re new here thanks for stopping by! If you’ve been here before, thank you for returning. Today’s video is my Prepper Pantry Tour. I’m pretty new to prepping since I just started my prepping journey in August 2020. Prepping, in my opinion, should not be overwhelming. Do what your able to do financially, even if takes you awhile. Don't ever feel like you have to run out and buy everything at once. Keep in mind that it's better to have a little extra then to have no extra. If you enjoy this kind of content, please make sure to give this video a thumbs up. I would also love for you to take a second to subscribe to my channel. Also, make sure to hit the notification bell so that you can be notified each time I upload. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video.

Hello! I watched your video and so glad you prepare. I’m not going through all the comments to see if your question on here was answered. I’m referring to your Mylar bags and Oxygen Absorbers. You can use the Mylar bags for things like cereal however they still don’t last as long as something that had been dried (example beans or oats) and DO NOT use the oxygen absorbers for any type of food that already has moisture in them(example, brown rice, cereal, granola, jerky) it can create a toxic poison in your food. You’re doing great and just wanted to answer your question and I apologize is someone else already has.

If SHTF, people would just loot grocery stores and nearby houses. They're not going to hop on UA-cam and watch random pantry tour videos to see if they can find anyone who lives within 15 states of them, so they can drive fir 400 hours to steal a lifetime supply of pickles.

If you store yeast anywhere from 32-68 degrees it will be fine. Been making wine and bread for years and never keep it in the fridge or freezer anymore. Also, they have found bottles of beer in the Baltic Sea from the early 1800s; the yeast inside was still viable and a university isolated it and now makes beer from that 200 year old yeast strain.

The three things that mainly spoil food are oxygen, moisture and light. This is why most people recommend Mylar bags and a cool, dark and dry place to store long term items. This is one of the better pantries I have seen but the work required is immense. Most of these items have about a 2 year shelf life before they spoil when stored in the original packaging and some items that contain baking powder such as the pre-mix pancake and baking items spoil in about a year. Lots of rotating stock to keep it fresh but heck when it’s a survival situation you gonna eat what you can get.

First thing we done was jazz it up with spices and crackers or something for thickening which included salt, so all her planning to make it healthier went to the wayside to make it more palatable.

Yasmine, start within your budget. I have 3 pantries; a working pantry that I use daily, a short term pantry with 6 months of food storage, and a long term pantry that only has rice, a variety of beans and pasta, some store bought canned meat and some 10 year shelf life items from Auguston Farms, and a few soups and veggies I canned myself. I continue to add to my short term pantry as I can because for my family, 6 months of food is not enough. I only want to go to my long term pantry if necessary. I said all that to say, you can begin a short term pantry by picking up items within your budget ( items you use everyday, canned goods with a 1 to 3 year shelf life, and other items you use stored in airtight containers). I have dry goods (oats, flour, sugar, etc. in a closet I converted into a pantry in airtight containers, along with canned goods (chicken, tuna, a variety of beans, condiments, applesauce, etc). It's only me and my son but I buy a little extra should my daughters need something. I also have a deep freezer I keep full. Always had a working/short term pantry and deep freezer as this was normal when I was growing up. Only starting prepping (2018 ) the long term pantry as I've kept abreast of things happening globally. Just start a little at a time if you haven't already. Get your children involved. It's life's lessons they can carry into the future. Much luck to you😉

AWSOME!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. Just a thought. Because I’m a diabetic I am always thinking about food substitutes that may replace common high carbohydrate saturated foods. I diversify my food pantry with some “more healthy alternative “foods along with foods that may be typically high in sugar and carbs etc. My thought is during a time that my family may HAVE to rely on the stored foods alone to live off of, I wouldn’t want anyone else in my family to develop diabetes due to being forced to rely on high carb foods. The last thing anyone wants to do during a grid down SHTF situation is to develop prediabetes or diabetes. I say this out of concern because CLEARLY you love your family because you are taking steps to prepare for them. Just saying there are tons of alternatives versions of a lot of the foods that we all store. Very tasty and not void of flavor at all. I promise. Maybe just a “lite” version. Good luck and thanks for sharing! AWSOME!!!!🏆👍🏾

It's some of us young ladies out here who became moms young and didn't have a solid support system to help guide / give this type of knowledge that could of been such a Godsend for us with our kiddos! To an extent, thank goodness for the internet and for the people like you who do make these types of videos because you've really given me a better understanding on how to do this! For studio/apt. dwellers...bed risers raises beds/couches to store 5 gallon Walmart containers I have 6 under my twin bed plus 2 long flat plastic bins stacked. Make a coffee table out of some 5 gallon plastic bins. Put wood piece from any home depot or Lowes or wherever you can find flat level to place on top of bins for coffee table. cover ready made table with pretty material. Wood book shelves line up with food or cleaning, batteries etc. I put a pretty curtain with the small spring curtain rod to cover bookshelves. Got rid of pots and plastic bowls I don't use. Walmart flat bins stacked in kitchen cabinets. And of course closets and emptied clothes from some drawers. Also if patio/balcony only. Get UV protected garden short sheds to put water bottles outside. Really protected by elements well. Or pack a large UV protected garbage can...purchase the extra wheels to place large Garbage can on top to roll around if need be. Have your car stocked too in case you need to evacuate immediately. @@charm8167 In the US, there are loads of additives in many milk products -- it's more about being on the shelf longer than being healthy. Our milk is almost always "ultra-pasturized" too. Also, too much herbicides being used (glyphosate/RoundUp). I've had Nubian dairy goats for years and their fresh milk is nothing like store-bought white-liquid. Heck, here in the US, juices extracted from nuts are also called "milk" so that should tell you how messed up our commercial food system really is.

I love your prepper pantry. You have so much good preps! 😍 I am curious as to what you use the aloe vera gel for though? I know there is many uses for it but curious to how you use it.
For your mylar bags that can be completely normal because the oxygen absorbers only absorb oxygen not the air. So maybe for some you squeezed out more of the air then some other bags. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you know your oxygen absorbers were still good when you threw them in there (soft, not crunchy) and as long as you used the right amount.
