Wow very nice ! I love the organization and I wished more people in our communities knew to prep, keep doing what you are doing because you are helping to reach many . Blessings!
Good job Nikki! Prepping for a family is not easy. I would add iodized salt, vitamin C tablets or C powder, multivitamin for kids and you, some type of water purifier and/or water purifying tablets. Not just prepping but be prepared for disaster. Having lived though a few disasters, safe water is usually the first problem people face.
I was told by a lady who live this in a foreign country Russia , she said you never get a enough of water so I did not see much water in your stock pile.
I was terrified when I first started canning, but once you get the hang of it, it is addictive. Totally agree about homestead heart!!! Also guildbrook farm is great for learning to pressure can.
@@Cookingwitnikki Hey Nkki, How ya doin💖 I've been prepping for years In all my research as well as personal experience Canned food Do Not go bad EXCEPT Acidic products such as tomato based foods, pineapple ect. As long as the can is not bulged, rusted, leaking ect. should be fine I've seen 100 year old cans opened and the product is still good. 💕 Your channel
Wow you did an awesome job. I love the organization. Very well done. I would add some salt, cooking oil, yeast, baking powder and vinegar those two are good for cleaning and cooking in emergency situation. Along with a few medical supplies and batteries and flashlights. In my stock pantry hanging on the wall I always keep everyone in the household a small backpack with batteries, flashlight, first aid kit, water purifier tablets and water bottle, socks and gloves along with a few hiking essentials. And hanging close to the protein snacks to grab just in case they are needed.
Also don’t forget an outside propane gas cooker just incase, fans that don’t need to be plugged in, milk that doesn’t need to be refrigerated, I’m also gonna stock up on lighter fluid and charcoal for my grill…
Get some box meals. Like hamburger helper. You can make them without the hamburger. Use spam , or beans . whatever , lentils. Just some kind of protein. Just a suggestion

Just happened upon your video. I love your pantry. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, remove that energy drink that has a animal name. My late sister had heart disease and her cardiologist referred her to an even more specialized heart doctor. He told us that he is starting to see a lot of younger people with permanent heart disease/damage and it is definitely from energy drinks. He said it is the same damage that crack addicts have and it should be a warning on the bottle, but...... I can't say the drinks name or the comment will be deleted by yt. Research for yourself. Continue with your pantry and thanks for sharing.

Very nice stock here, you are doing very well and thanks for sharing. We are watching to check if we left out anything that might be necessary. Stay safe and stay blessed 🙋♀️🙏
Don't worry about the dates, you can tell by the can if it's expanded. You are doing good, keep going! I think it's awesome that you give to the homeless, you will be blessed!
Yes, I agree watch Homestead Heart for canning, and also RoseRed Homestead ( she is a scientist and knows a lot) but they both break it down on how to can things. Both are great teachers.
Hey Nikki! Great video! I got a lot of those Lakeside large cans too when Walmart was basically "giving them away" Don't stress about the pull tops most companies are making products with that sort of top. Just keep your eye on them. Use those first before your canned items that require a can opener.
I love your well organized pantry. My pantry is smaller but well stocked. I noticed that you have powdered drink mixes which is now on my list to buy. Have you started to can yet? I’ve always wanted to but am scared to try. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing! I don't know if you have started canning yet (this is the first time seeing your channel) but I just found a USDA free print book for all of the information you need for how - to and safety and what not for canning. You can buy it for 25 also if you don't feel like printing or using ink. You have a lot of good stuff! I am working on the Mylar bags for the long haul of rice, beans, flour, sugar, etc. Weird finds for me are the salmon packs for a dollar at Walmart (like tuna packs) and the freeze dried spinach goes on sale on amazon a lot lately (lasts 25 years), butter powder (haven't tried it yet but it went on sale) on amazon, 3-1 coffee packs that come out to .50 a coffee, and reusable water canisters 1-5 gallon that I keep to save some space and bleach tabs that I didn't know existed until recently. That's all I got that I didn't see! Haha. Thanks again for sharing!!! Subscribing now
Hi Nikki!...I love how your pantry has grown...I have a little stock of certain things but I agree now is the time to really make the most of your money buying foods that you can stock on. Thank you for sharing!🙏❤
Instant coffee if you drink coffee, apple sauce you can use that in place of eggs when baking ,every juice powder mix you can think of ,tissue's toilet paper, I also stock tons of different jams because if it comes down to a biscuit in the morning what better way then with some jam. I can't remember if i saw powered milk. shelf stable butter, creamed soup to make any casserole ten times better. That's just a couple off my list i have hundreds but every family eats differently stock what you use.
Yeast and baking powder can last for years if you store it in the freezer just make sure to put it in a water tight container or baggie. I also store tons of salt and baking soda.
Hi Nikki! Wow! I'm happy to see you taking care of prepping business for your family! Make sure you have a way to cook that bounty if power fails. It's September 12th so I hope you've opened that pressure canner.....lol. Homestead Heart is an awesome channel to follow for pressure canning. Get your canning tools too! Keep up the good work!😍
Hey nice pantry, good job in your preps. Just a little bit of advice on some of your boxed items and your bagged items as well ,they would keep a better shelf life if put in Mylar bags or food saver bags for long term storage or even if you use the rotating system and would keep rottens out as well if you put them in plastic bins with lids. Mylar bags or food saver bags for your stuff like your pastas, rice, flour ,dry beans,candies/goodies, dry milk, cereals ,baking goods, pancake mix etc. Keep prepping and Godbless you and your family🙏♥️
New sub here...excited to see your pantry!! I date the front of my cans and packages so I can see them without moving the cans or packages. I date it on whatever side will be showing in the pantry.
I dated all my can goods. Brought some blue painter's tape and got my marker out, out the dates on all the can then put them in order so that the grown grandchildren can take them off the top row staright back without any problem. It's alot of work, but it's worth it. When i restock i do the same thing but put them on my restock shelves. Good job Little Sister. A job Well Done

I watched your video last night and saved it to rewatch today so I could write to you and give you a few ideas you might like and share some things I got from you too. I always sit down each Wed. here when ads come out from our grocery stores and plan what to buy according to sales and recipes i have that I want to try, since i'm just learning to cook for myself now that i have no family left. Other suggestions you might think about that I have gotten from other preppers, would be labels for boxes so you can find things better and possibly writing a list of what you have and where and the number of each thing. Color coding your cans by year or month- whichever you want more. I saw a guy that used big colored dots and each was a different year, then he would put the month on that in dark ink. Also have you thought about buckets for things like flour, sugar, and other dry things you get a lot of? You have to make sure they say Food Grade on them and buy the lid too (they are sold separately). Then you can label them with sharpie or tape something on them so you know what's in it and dates that are needed for you. Now things I got from you that I liked, I had never heard of the 90 second Rice. I will be looking for them. I have used the pasta that is quick like that in a micro and it's great for, one maybe 2 people. Also I bought some jars at dollar tree for some dry products that you had on shelves, but I got big mason jars. I am careful to make sure it seals good, because dollar tree, even when you think they are, they don't always seal tightly. And lastly, the pressure canning you want to do. I have been thinking about canning, not necessarily pressure kind, but dehydrating some stuff to can. I hope that made sense, because it felt like a run on sentence and my thoughts are pinging all around lol. Anyway, thanks for the ideas and I enjoyed your video and may look into more of yours when I catch up on others in my list. You probably know how that can be. God Bless!
May want to consider adding more dry milk. A lot more. Also, instant potatoes can substitute for flour. In the original package, instant potatoes will last many, many years.
Your stocks look just like mine, except I must buy flavorings and bouillon cubes that do not have MSG, as I am allergic to it.. You know that the FDA has told us that best-by dates on canned goods are of no consequence, and unless the cans are dented at the seams, building or rusty, they are safe. (My husband cannot resist buying cereal.) Put the pasta and mixes in ziplock bags, if you don't get a vacuum-sealer.The basic ones are just great and they save so much. God bless you.
Thanks for the tour, I buy something for my pantry every week. I also keep an inventory of what I have and what I need to get. Do you have oils, or lard, or shortening? I have been trying to make that a priority and I also need to get water and some meats. Blessings to you.
Good job.i live in a Co op apartment 1 bedroom and you just have to be creative on space. Think like a cat wherever she would hide is a great place to store your stuff.
I don't recall seeing any large stores of dry beans, rice, wheat, and corn. Do you also stack these as well? It's 750 lbs of food/per person/per year. Having large stores of those dry staples would be a great addition to your already ample supplies. I'm glad to see you're pressing forward and that you are inspiring others to do the same. God bless you and yours.
Wow what a nice pantry you have! I also have a nice supply of cereal! Lol 😂 I would only recommend more canned meat (protein) and if you use a lot of rice and flour I would bulk buy 😊
That's awesome. I wish I had those metal shelves! I have stocked alot and I live far from stores as well. Make every trip the best. I stock tons of seasonings and different bouillon they are coming out with. Once the flavored stuff runs out we may need to be very creative with rice and beans w canned meat for a time lol. I also bought a bunch of green chili and sauses like that for easy flavor with cheap meat or just beans ect. I also bought a few powdered butter and eggs. Thank you! I'm glad I am new to your channel. Kroger and Albertsons or Safeway are ALWAYS the best with digital and the buy 5. That's my game too!🤣😍🙏 it also allows me to help feed the homeless as well. Many blessings!
@@Cookingwitnikki Some of them opened up on me and I had really bad mold growing in my long term food storage. I now only buy regular canned food items, no more pull back tops. But its up to you, your choice.
I mark the expiration date & year in permanent marker on the can front and follow the FIFO (first in first out) principal. I separate items expiring within 6 months to use 1st. I've had 1 small can of tomato paste go out of date in the past 40 years.
I like your overflow shelf and that you pull from there before the other shelves. Do you find that all of the baskets and bins take up a lot of space on your shelves? Just wondering if you use them to keep things sorted or if there is another reason.
we were doing can goods, but don't eat them, so we ended up tossing so much food. Now I buy shelf stable 25 year life food and canned food/boxed food for only a few things that we eat.
Great Job, Nikki ! I hope you're still prepping and that all is well in your family. Much love from my house to yours.
Adding salt, yeast, baking soda and powder would be a good idea. Also stockpile as much water as you can. Nice stockpile!

@@Cookingwitnikki Some of them opened up on me and I had really bad mold growing in my long term food storage. I now only buy regular canned food items, no more pull back tops. But its up to you, your choice.
Thanks for the info
I love your UA-cam name. I love Jesus Christ my King too❤️
@@lindasprepperkitchen Amen, my King, my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer, my God...my everything.
I love shopping at Kroger when I can...I have to drive 100 miles to go to Kroger and WalMart.
It is a pretty packed pantry, girl, good one! 👍❤
How do u not let food expire. I have stocked up but I let some expire.some by 2 or 3 months
Rotate
Remember to go by the Best Buy dates. It doesn’t mean they expire.
I mark the expiration date & year in permanent marker on the can front and follow the FIFO (first in first out) principal. I separate items expiring within 6 months to use 1st. I've had 1 small can of tomato paste go out of date in the past 40 years.

Your welcome
I like your overflow shelf and that you pull from there before the other shelves. Do you find that all of the baskets and bins take up a lot of space on your shelves? Just wondering if you use them to keep things sorted or if there is another reason.
Hello, I have thoughts that they takes up more space, I might end up changing that in the future. I think if I do that I might can put more cans…tfw

Wow
Please be careful with that do no make yourself a target
we were doing can goods, but don't eat them, so we ended up tossing so much food. Now I buy shelf stable 25 year life food and canned food/boxed food for only a few things that we eat.
