I have a 2 car garage. The door has not been opened in 15 years. All are preps are in there. It's real nice. Nobody knows what's in their. In the middle is my escape trailer. Fully equipped and ready to go. 5.5x10. I bought it new 7 years ago. It's never been outside since I bought it. 2 spares. You name it I bought it. Hope we never have to leave the house. But we are ready. No kids. This year I'm working on water. Have fun.
I wish I had a basement. I’m in a condo and turned my second bedroom into my pantry. I look like a food hoarder. They’re going to find my cold dead body under bags of rice and cans of fruit
@GoodFruitForGod who are you to say that the Lord may not be laying it on the hearts of some of his children to prepare not only for their families but for neighbors or brothers and sisters in Christ? Be careful how you admonish as you can destroy one weak in the faith.
@GoodFruitForGod I think it has to be either or. Either it's okay to prepare, or it's not. Where are you making the distinction between short and long term in the bible?
Most people think they are crazy because misconceptions. You don't need to prep with guns and ammo or for the end of the world. A good prepared person will have Water and food for a month a good first aid kit and some other stuff like a cooking device if there's no power. Most people prep for large storms or if they see a trend of prices going up you might buy a few more of that item than normal.
You're the first prepper I've heard that said not to prep out of fear. Others may not come out and say that you should but the way they speak is meant to perpetuate fear. I appreciate you for not doing that. Good video. Great tips.
So true! My family thinks I prep out of fear, and therefore joke about me, but they do not understand that I do not fear anything. I just think its prudent to be prepared for anything, especially considering the unprecedented levels of sociopolitical issues, earthquakes, floods, gsm/solar activity... It just makes sense to respond appropriately to changes in ones environment. For me, prepping is an act of Love, not fear. Love for myself, my family, even my foolish unprepared neighbors. I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but in my experience it's best to take the rings off of the canning jars before storing them. Any little bits of moisture or food under the ring will rot and rust them, making them difficult to get off and often destroying them. Even without the ring, the lids aren't going to pop off unless they didn't seal properly, in which case it's better to know sooner rather than later. Gorgeous stockpile!!
This is my first time on your channel. I've been prepping since 2019 and I add to my stockpile as often as I can afford to. I've been making and canning soups of many different kinds. Tonight I'm making and canning lentil soup and also Brunswick stew. Tomorrow night I'm making and canning 16 bean soup. Tomorrow I'm finishing putting my garden in. I live in Wisconsin. Thank you for putting this video together. It gives me ideas for my own pantry.
I believe you are filled with wisdom to be prepared. God bless you and your family!! You are taking care of your family very well. I am excited for you!!!
After going through COVID-19 lockdown for 2 months, and seeing food shortages, this just makes sense. Buy what you can as you go, don't hoard but stock up. Food, meds, hygene, cleaning stuff etc.
Nice stockpile! I have one tip for you. I’ve heard this several times, and I work at a grocery store. You must keep bottled water off of the concrete floor. It was hard to tell from the angle, if they had something underneath them. The concrete will contaminate the water. It’s like same reason you can’t leave bottle water in a hot car or space, it will also contaminate the water.
Thanks for the advice! The water in the video is actually water we use a lot of. It will be used quickly. We have hard water here so we drink a lot of bottled water. But you are right....concrete isn't good for long term storage of water!
If you're starting at a 72-hour supply, start at the dollar store! Lots of good options there, especially for the necessities. Rice and beans, baby! Plus it's a great place to stuck up on short-term supplies of health and hygiene items.
And specifically Dollar Tree stores. They have the storage bins, first aid supplies, groceries, even small hand tools, and those kinds of resources. We shop there often for scouts and for home. It's a great resource without blowing the budget.
@@happilyhomegrown6011 I get lots of food at the Dollar Tree. Their saltine crackers are good, nacho chips, popcorn, even eggs. I learned I can buy bread cheaper at a local gas station. I can get my bread cheaper than Wal-Mart or the Dollar Tree.
NO! Now that the prices have gone up to $1.25, at Dollar Tree, it’s expensive for many things. Today, canned corn at Walmart was 54 cents a can. They are $1.25 at Dollar Tree. Rice is expensive there. Pasta is higher than Walmart. Start using your phone to compare prices. You could be paying WAY MORE! Bath gel, shampoo, bandaids are priced better than Walmart.
I was thinking this to that a Reset was coming , not anymore after a lot of reading and listening . Its a transformation , a transformation of the people , of the system , of the food ect.. ect... .
Indeed it is. Storm clouds are clearly visible and the wind is blowing. The dollar is only worth a tyrant's word and the people have capitulated to the wiles of dark spirits. The train of delusion is running out of track.
I’m a single female (51) and I can say I easily have everything in your prepper pantry and more. It’s a good feeling knowing when the stores are out of everything or they require passports to shop, I’m prepared. I also have a garden. I started prepping in 2015. ❤️ loved the tour. It’s always fun to see what others like to store up on.
Great video. We don’t want to be like the foolish virgins, waiting until the time is at hand to go get oil. God warned Noah and Joseph. They were obedient and were saved. Keep doing what you do.
Love seeing the prepper pantries! Yours is the first I've seen that has a terrific stock of spices, which are critical to making flavorful food, especially if you're trying to 'make do' with boxed/canned stuff, so great idea on that.
Yes ppl forget merchants travelled hundreds and thousands of miles along the spice trail to acquire flavor. We take it sooooooo for granted but spice trades dominated the world economy a long time ago. Simple foods can become decadent feasts and medicinal gems if you know a little about herbs and spices. Also: SALT. All kinds
I suffered from really bad migraines and had to drink a lot of strong medicine for it on a regular basis. My twins had an allergy to gluten among other things and I started to follow their same diet so I wouldn’t have to cook different things. I can honestly say going on a gluten free diet has been a God sent I have been free of any migraines for the past 8 years and No more pills🙏🏻
Even before pandemics and civil unrest I could never let my supplies get much below 3 mos. I can’t even begin to imagine what a pantry with 3 days worth of food would look like. That would scare me to death.
Ooooh! I guess we are all different. I can't comprehend all these pantries...I have never seen so much food ! So all I will say is that I am grateful to live where I don't ever feel the need to do this. 😊 I appreciate all the work and commitment placed into this. Wow. 😊
@@isabellearseneault9737, bear in mind that during times of unrest trucks might not be able (or willing) to get through mobs of rioters to restock grocery store shelves. The government itself has recommended that people store 3-6 mos of food. Even if things don’t go pear shaped, we will not need to run to the store for a good long while. Just something to think about.
@@indianne9781 Absolutely! 😊 I just never stopped to think of it...I guess it's because we never ran out of food. But it could surely happen anywheres. All the best to you from 🇨🇦. 😊
Nice supply of goods! Our basement looks very similar. Stocked and ready to face what may come. May God bless you and your family! We've always been prepared with extra goods, however, the current times we are living in have slightly ramped it up a notch or two. Thanks for sharing with everyone.
I used to think about prepping, I always thought it was just a bunch of crazy hoarders. I apologise for that, after watching this and a few other videos and actually getting a grip on prepping, I admit I was wrong. As a matter of fact, I'm going to start prepping so I'll be ready if a next wave of the virus hits (pray not)
Need a movement like we had in WW2. The Victory Gardens. Got a lot of america to grow fruits n veggies in their yards that were not previously doing so. My grand parents had a rather large garden for veg, they would use some, can the rest. That generation, that went through the great depression, and the world wars, they knew every trick in the book on saving and reusing every little thing they had.
I have been prepping and I live in an apartment. I have stocked since last year and got first aid kits set up and bug out bags for me and my children. I watching videos like this to get more ideas.
At this point it is better for you to move to a small town with nice people. Things are going to get nasty in cities. I am assuming you are in a larger center because of the comment that you live in an apartment.
I love my food pantry/storage. I put a basket on my arm and go shopping in my basement and pantry. Write what I take on a list, then go shopping to replace it. Twice a month I go to the grocery store and 80% of it goes straight to the storage and the back of the shelf so oldest is at the front to be chosen on the next foray to stock up the kitchen. If you keep a menu list it's easy to see what to bring up and what to replace, and you always have a good idea what's going to be for supper and you know what meats to take out of the freezer for today or tomorrow. Hint; keep heavy stuff like canning pots on the bottom and light stuff like paper towels on the top. That way, if you're in your basement for a tornado possible things falling will be light. who wants to get hit in the head by a bread machine!
Tip: Keep a list on the freezer of running inventory of each shelf with dates, I highlight things I want used up and cross those off as I do, it’s easy to forget about things or leave them buried till their not the best quality anymore. For things on the shelfs I use a black sharpie to mark best by date. It just makes it easier to quickly see what is getting close and of coarse put the newest purchases in back.
I’m a college student living in a townhouse with 3 other people. While our budgets are tight and we only have a small amount of space I ALWAYS make sure we are stocked up on pantry staples and our fridge and freezer is full. Because we make not starving a priority we could easily go 4 months before running out of food. So in my opinion, space and a low food budget is not an excuse to be unprepared...
@@TheCookFamilyHomestead My parents don’t know how to be prepared. My dad : We can eat the possum ( have rabies) My dad buying non-parashiable food Wasting can Whoo deals but not goods ones My mom: Fruits and vegetables. We don’t need to go over to plan on safety We don’t need to be prepared.
If you had too, you could ration if need be to make your food last longer. Do you have some security if something does come up? Somethings to think about when you have food. And, dont tell others about your stash.
I have frozen probably 25 20oz soda bottles of water and put in each of my freezers scattered throughout if power goes out this may save your meat and adds to your water supply and i have a few froze to put in fridge also keep doors shut and the cold stays in stay safe
Thank you. I've been prepping in California in the last three years, for the move back to Fiji this year. I have purchased just about everything you have showed in your video. Smart people prepare. Thank you America 🇺🇸
My husband is not into prepping at all I think I have been driving him crazy. I haven't shown him half of what I have stashed all over the house...he said he would get a gun but waited too long and now there is no ammo and guns to be found. I bought me a big knife to put on my hip put a knitting needle down my tall boots, 😳😬 I hope it doesn't come to door to door starving people searching for food! I had this very thought back in April when the coronavirus locked down started. I really feel like there will be another lockdown because of all the violence coming from the election. We need to pray and prepare. 💗
@@kimberlyarroyo6689 Yes, I agree about there being violence and I do believe civil war and martial law will be imminent. I am staying home until January. Have you stored stuff under your bed or in your shoes. Also a weapon is a good idea. Block your doors at night.
Very wise young man! Thank you for the tour. We are slightly prepared because of the habit of farming and canning. It used to be the mind-set of everyone we knew: "have a year's worth of everything plus a little, just in case some crop fails." Now, not so efficient, but we are trying. You have encouraged us to try harder. :)
That looks awesome! To be fully prepared, you need -- for humans and for pets -- food, water, medication, first aid supplies, and means to make heat and light. stay safe, everyone!
If you have any possibility of flooding or sewer backup, get everything much higher. My basement had alot if backup preps and the basement has 2 freak floods this year.. .ruined things I cannot afford to replace this year with lack of work. Be forewarned, get those things higher! Ultimately, only God is our provider!
Yep. Fantastic tip. Alternately put anything of worth in labeled rubbermaid bins. I use cinder blocks with plywood on top in 2 foot wide sections. Bins go on top.
I have a sump pump in mine. I keep all things that can get wet in lidded buckets and totes. As you never know what Murphy's Law can bring in a Biden administration! 😁
i went to Menards garden center and bought 60 large concrete blocks for 1.18 each along with their 30 scrap wood plywood shelving for 2.49 each. THEN I made 30 low shelves to elevate water and buckets off the floors just in case of sewer back ups.
I am an extreme couponer and always had a stockpile full off food and non food products. Some people used to make fun of me for having a lot of stuff. I am so thankful for my pantry.
I have three and one thing I'm thinking of is clothing. I'm trying to get clothes and footwear in the next sizes they will need, including cold weather gear here. Gender neutral clothing might be something to consider for hand me downs and trade but I'm just starting with the next size up for a of them, I can sew so I can alter larger clothes to fit but it's much easier to buy them now.
@@distressindamsel I have veen collecting things too. We have a local thrift store that does 50% off every wed so ive been trying to add things in that way. And my family all sorta passes clothing around lol. But gender neutral is a really great point. My biggest thing currently is the shoes. I have a ton of clothing and I can sew things too but shoes are the kicker. Luckily my two youngest ones are about the same size so that makes it nice too. My oldest is the same size as me. My son is the only one I dont have as much wiggle room for. But my cousin has a boy who passes things down.

Great video. Might I also suggest somethings we recently purchased for our prepper pantry, an adjustable cane and adjustable crutches. If someone has some type of leg/knee/foot injury they might come in handy. Also a good thing to have would be Oil lamps, and a few bottles of lamp oil. If the lights go out you don’t have to waste your batteries right away you can use the lamps instead and stretch your batteries out longer. Hello from Rock Spring, Georgia, USA
Love ur attitude, Man!!! Most folk have craziness (a fear perhaps) when it comes to prepping!!! Now you're the type of guy I'd take instructions from. I'm writing out my list when I get home from work.
Love your food storage system. Wish we had a basement. I have food, water, cleaning supplies in EVERY room of my house because I have a fear of being trapped in a room without supplies or stuck outside of my house and unable to access my home in case there was earthquake or hurricane damage. Yep, I’m a nut.🤦🏽♀️ Very informative video. Many blessings Aloha 🌴🌋🤙🏽
So if the neighbors come starving will you both turn them away because they were ignorant and didn't prepare? You stash is only as good as the firepower you can muster to kill those who may out of desperation will want what you have? And what about those moral considerations? If you are a Christian you have a commandment to share right? The whole prepper thing is somewhat anti Christian and selfish. Not totally but to some degree its not prudent biblically.
@@Makeitliquidfast I didn't say I would turn them away. I said, "Also have the means to protect what we have", meaning, from those who come to take what we have.
@@buddycarroll9641 so then just asking will get us fed or watered? If that's the case then my point is made in that preppers are prepping for those who aren't prepping.
@@Makeitliquidfast Depends on your attitude when you ask. I won't feed you everyday but enough sustain you for the day and that day only. Don't keep coming back everyday asking for food. So, your saying, you have enough food for your family and you would turn a hungry neighbor away?
Mandy my sweetie, how are you? I'm sorry I haven't contacted you but I do think about you. We stocked up on jars and lids last year. So glad we bought them every payday (biweekly) because our area hasn’t had jars or lids for months and months.
I've been prepping. My mistakes learned, don't store food in garage. Its too hot, cans have popped their seal in garage. Box grains, get out of box, bugs can eat thru, get in glass jars, dry seal them. Don't store all food 1 place in home. I have jars of rice and beans in my cabinets in very back with pans in front. I also use underneath my bed with old drawers I pull out. I have jars wrapped in pillowcase to keep off dust
Gwen. So true about grains in box. Pasta too. I think bug eggs are in the cardboard. You can freeze overnight to kill eggs I prefer to buy pasta in the cellophane bags.
@@DontStepInTheGrease their is this moth that can get thru those bags too.they can bite a small hole thru then the food gets this webbing in. I know I got them thru sprouts and those food bins. Having a hard time getting rid of them completely
Thank you for sharing. Most Prepper pantries I have seen have failed to remember the other essential items you have on hand and focus mostly on food and some medical but its important to have all bases covered and by the looks of things you've done a great job. The shelving you have built is really nice and your items are well organized.
One day I would love to have a prepper pantry big or small but unfortunately I’m still living at home as I’m 17 and my dad doesn’t see the point. We are in England to things aren’t as bad here but it’s always good to be prepared
I don’t know if you’ll see this since it’s an older video, but one thing I noticed you don’t have is dish brushes, sponges or something to do dishes with.
My first time watching, I also have the same family size but only started prepping before covid. Seeing your preps really shows how behind the ball I am definitely stressful. Hope I can get my basics together real soon, cheers.
Thanks for showing us your storage! Great job at prepping! To go to the next level I suggest adding antibiotics to your medical supply, easily purchased in Mexico or from veterinary supply. Also save leftover prescriptions of pain meds rather than flushing them...could be a lifesaver.
Just a little at a time. It took us years to get where we are. Just start with smaller goals....get a weeks worth, then a month...and keep going! You can store up quick.
I know there are a lot of people in small spaces.....buy garment bags you can hang in closet or slide under beds. You will feel great being prepared for whatever😁😄😁
I love that you rotate from this actively. Broth that ages poorly can be eliminated if you have water and bullion. The coin tissues (compressed towelettes) are a very economical and efficient way to store hand towels, and useful for backpacking for wipes.
It must be a lot easier with a supportive wife , mine thinks I'm crazy for wanting a stocked pantry , packed freezer and extra supplies.. opposites do attract, I suppose
I'm shocked that it's so many men who are the preppers, because that seems to be a more feminine trait. You'd think there would be more female preppers.
Wow super nice set up , also very well organized. So good to see a man /or woman help to keep his/her family prepared . The United States is entering some very very difficult times right now.
When the pandemic really hit in 2020, I was glad we had some prep, we were shut down for 2 months. The food we had stocked up on kept us fed til we could go back to work… $$$ for groceries… prepping is for a lot of reasons. Right now we’re restocking…. You never know. In Hawaii we’ve dealt with supply chain interruption for decades….
You should stock up on reusable lids this year! Tattler or harvest guard so you can continue to do canning in the future. We bought a grain mill last year and wheat too. So handy. We have about as much stuff as you. My husband is rebuilding the shelves in my bathroom to make them 2 feet instead of 12 inches that came with the house. So I’ll have tons more space soon and will buy more shampoo. I have a lot of bar soaps and hand wash. I have a huge pantry it’s basically a small room off my kitchen and we’ve been rebuilding the shelves in there too. I still wish I had a basement storage though. Can’t ever have enough storage space for us “preppers” also I’m a mineral analysis practitioner your migraines are likely low potassium! Magnesium too but magnesium lowers sodium and potassium so start with potassium let me know if you want more help also blood work isn’t an accurate representation of what is getting inside of a cell and I’ve only seen a few people with adequate potassium and it’s because they’ve been working on it a few years.
FROM AUSTRALIA, this is very helpful. ALOT OF YOUR items are unheard of HERE, obviously DIFFERENT names and brands. HAVE started STOCK PILING FOR 2 OLDER people. CAN always LEARN, I get ALOT OF info from AMERICA. GOOD LUCK to you and family and THANKS for VIDEO.
I live in a hurricane prone area and I try to can most of the meat I buy. I worry that if there is a long term power outage I will loose most of my food in the freezers I have.
Glad to see you have a good system for rotating your stock of surplus supplies. Those supplies wouldn’t be worth much of they were too old and had gone bad. Also smart to stick to the items you regularly use and actually like. Don’t understand why people will stock up on food they don’t like eating. It will either go bad or probably never be consumed.
Well done! You can store yeast in the freezer, it will last twice as long, and when you open it keep it in the fridge. We've been doing it that way for a decade or more, it does last longer. Anything that comes in plastic with have a longer shelf life if you transfer it to glass. You can replace toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant all with baking soda. Dawn dish soap, vinegar and baking soda can replace most cleaning products. Peroxide, bleach and vinegar has a short shelf life. All these tips were learned over a lifetime and lifestyle of "saving for a rainy day."
Excellent information! I make my laundry soap: 1 cup Washing soda, 1/2 cup dish soap dissolve in 4 cup hot distilled water and top off to 1 gallon total of mixture. 1/3 cup for full loads. What is the shelf life of vinegar? I had no idea.
@@justpatty7328 Well, they say it doesn't expire, but from experience I find after a year it's not as affective (doesn't react as much when mixed with baking soda). It's weaker. I too make my own laundry soap, love it.
Thank you, I will definitely keep that in mind. Most importantly for canning to have the freshest vinegar then. I've read not to store vinegar nearby food items, bottle "exploded," they said.
Very impressive preps! Your way ahead of me. One thing I noticed was that you only showed one package of garbage bags. If that is all you have, it might be good to get more.

@@TheCookFamilyHomestead my husband is a PHD chemist. He says chemicals from concrete floors won't leach through the plastic.
@@redeemedbygrace9236 thank you! I was worried for a minute!

If you're starting at a 72-hour supply, start at the dollar store! Lots of good options there, especially for the necessities. Rice and beans, baby! Plus it's a great place to stuck up on short-term supplies of health and hygiene items.
Awesome advice!
They will be raising their prices in the next coming weeks....Hurry!!!

Love seeing the prepper pantries! Yours is the first I've seen that has a terrific stock of spices, which are critical to making flavorful food, especially if you're trying to 'make do' with boxed/canned stuff, so great idea on that.
Thank you.....yes we love to cook and spices are essential. You can make bland taste great by just mixing in a few spices!
Nicely staged, well thought out pantry. That ain't easy to do. I admire that.
I suffered from really bad migraines and had to drink a lot of strong medicine for it on a regular basis.

I used to think about prepping, I always thought it was just a bunch of crazy hoarders. I apologise for that, after watching this and a few other videos and actually getting a grip on prepping, I admit I was wrong.

@@binderdundit228 yes the crime has increased here I live in California unfortunately and plan to move to another state before summer.
You've just showed your entire stash to the world. Watch out for the zombies when they come knocking.
We color coded our containers to remind us if things are going to expire so they can be replaced. Green=Good, Yellow=borderline Red=Replace with new.
Always keep a spare can opener in the storage room!
Great advice.
Ladies, keep one in your purse😊
FI - FO : First in - first out ... a must for all pantry keepers everywhere!
FEFO is better. First expired, first out
Tip: Keep a list on the freezer of running inventory of each shelf with dates, I highlight things I want used up and cross those off as I do, it’s easy to forget about things or leave them buried till their not the best quality anymore. For things on the shelfs I use a black sharpie to mark best by date. It just makes it easier to quickly see what is getting close and of coarse put the newest purchases in back.
Key word, rotate, rotate, rotate, do just shelve your food and forget about it. USE IT and replace.
Dude… this is a prepper pantry! I love watching stuff like this to get ideas for my stockpile.
That is very wise!

Thank you for the kind words! And you are right, you can never have too much!
@@TheCookFamilyHomestead .. it's hard to store water. We buy bottles of water to drink but we only have a couple of 24 packs. I'm not sure what to do. Should I get a gallon of water and store it? We don't use that size so we would just keep. Do you know how long water in that size container is potable?
@@m.b.g.2235 Please think about investing in something like a BERKEY water filter..... then all you need is a stream or a pond.....:)
@@k.steelman2584 .. good idea. They certainly come highly recommended by the prepper community.
@@m.b.g.2235 I don’t remember the name of the channel but try a search, there is a guy who made a homemade “Berkey” with stainless steal stock pots from Walmart, very easy and cheap, then you just have to buy filters !
I think your set for life!
Thank you for this we are just starting... cleaning the basement out soon and getting shelving to begin doing this! This was super helpful!
Hurry
Something i always do is "copy canning" basically whatever i use from my stockpile, i buy two of when i go shopping. So if i decide i want a spam sandwhich, ill open a can and buy 2 cans of spam when i go shopping. If i use 2 cans of soup, ill buy 4 etc.
Great idea! We do similarity. When we use up one we will usually, not always, but usually replace it with 2.
