Breaking Down KADER SYLLA's Tre Flip!

- Kader Sylla has a unique 360 Flip Technique. Kader Sylla's Treflip is not a cookie cutter all scoop stanky leg treflip like we've gotten used to seeing over and over. Kader Sylla has a unique foot position for his treflip that I'm not sure I've seen any other pro skater use. Kader Sylla also Flicks his treflips where a lot of top pro's do more of a pressure flip version. I think that's part of why Kader Sylla has so much style and uniqueness to his treflips. I hope this video helps you guys with 360 flips aka treflips. There are so man pro skaters in SLS and on thrasher and the berrics that make 360 flips look so easy but for me this has been the hardest skateboard trick for me to learn but this kader sylla treflip video helped a lot!
literally gave the craziest secret for treflips, ive never heard anyone explain it this way but he is absolutely correct
I felt mind blown istg...
You must not watch any other tutorials, it's all in the scoop!
Aaron Kyro actually gave this tip (back foot scoop forward) a while ago on Braille, completely changed my tre flips
Was really really surprised to see so few others tutorials mentioning it
I agree, wish id had this dude 15 years ago when i was learning tre flips hahaha
Nice stationary treflips! When roling you should be able to use a bit more momentum.
Try not to hunch over during the pop. This is something you are probably doing because the board is landing in front of you and you want to jump towards it. But by doing the pop hunched , this just gets exaggerated (the board lands even more in front of you by the way you pressure the board!). Try to lean back a bit, with an almost straight back, just more like an heelflip. That way you can more easily scoop and keep it under you. You are leaning like this "/", but should be more like "|", that way the energy comes directly from the ground up in the air. This means more pop and more control.
Idk bro i hunch on all my tricks and dont have any problems with my center of balance.maybe its just my style but you can still adjust your weight while hunching.the way the dude in the vid is suggesting is pretty much spot on,id only add when learning them and doing them down drops it helps to have the board angled a little so you can get more of your flick in easier while doing the scoop motion,i see alot of people when learning to do them try them with the board perfectly straight and they over rotate or accidently 3 shov.not saying they arnt possible going completely straight just look at nyjahs, but i feel it makes it easier if the board is angled slightly when popping the scoop.fakie tres and nollie tres i do with the board straight though lmao so there might also be some preference in comfortability involved aswell.this dude should do a nollie tre vid next,id honestly have trouble explaining that one haha it took me months to get them consistent
I absolutely love these type of videos, especially when you break down Kaders techniques! Would loveee to get more breakdowns of Kaders tricks
One of the best treflip tutorials I've seen. Been struggling with treflips for a while. Gonna try out these techniques. Thanks
excellent breakdown
I love the breakdown of this trick. Tre flip is such a complicated but satisfying trick. You could probably make like 20 tre flip videos focusing on just one aspect of the trick.
been watching you for so long and realized i wasn't even subscribed, ur tips are like hella helpful, i super close to tre's and these tips make me feel like i could do them already
Good learning vid . This the first flat ground tre I have seen from you
So sick the way you broke down tre flips. Keep kill'n out there! Always Friday! Cant wait next skate sesh.
This style of video is much better than the clickbait titles you used to do. Straight into the tips and insights.
Joe you’re a legend
Good advice Joe. The back foot has to scoop forward with tres. The forward pop keeps momentum, and helps land clean bolts.
My advice is to always lean toe side, as you crouch and pop. If your feet have the board angled heel side down, you'll be fighting the scoop and flick direction, so toes down, and heels up for effortless tre flips. Good luck
FIRE!!!! thanks bro
Yeah bro so good from Costa Rica 🇨🇷
I like the fact that you learn how to do different style tricks by style skaters and each separate video that mold your style differently and really, that's what's it's about we just have to watch actual skate videos over and over for it back in the day LOL
And yeah I still can't impossible though..
There’s a Chris Cole tre flip tutorial on UA-cam worth checking out. What helped me is when doing the slight kick flip with the front foot, kick it more in front of you as opposed to more behind you like a traditional kick flip.
my friend brent has nice pop shuvits and his biggest advice was scoop your back foot towards your main leg kinda like the back foot thing you were talking about
more kader tutorials maybe nollie heel or nollie flip
Bro, nice. I see in your video that the moment you do the nike zwoosh movement you got it! In the beginning you didnt do that and didnt land.
Very nice my friend
It's all in the positioning of the scooping that's all and flick right away.
Nice vídeo but they are harder stationary 😅 I’ll leave some tips that helped me get them everytime and that I figured out by my self: Pop first, when the tail hits the floor, only then scoop like the nike sign...also jumping straight up and leaning to the heel side when going down to pop are keys for tre flips
Last time asking for Ivan Monteiro's tre
The pop before you scoop really feels right, mine is just flying in front me lol it makes it scary to commit.
Bro I don't know how u read my mind but thanks a lot
more kader tutorials
I like to really focus on putting a lot of pressure on the tip of my toes for my back foot. This allows for the board to tilt off axis and catch your front foot for the easy flick. It's all in the back foot with practically no front foot involved.
You can almost wheel bite the back foot toe side wheel before the flick. I think that's pressure tre though?
The positioning of the scooping is important though.
do a backside tailslide hack!
Loved the advice and approach in this one, especially the breakdown in the beginning. Would be super helpful for a beginner, also helpful for someone who just wants tres more consistent or has issues with them
That's how I use to do my tree flips in the 90s and 2000s
Lets goooo
you should try ellis frost's treflip :D
for my tre shuvs and tre flips i pop them pop them i dont scoop them. My back toes go on the center of the tail, hanging them off for tres felt awkward lol.
I was wondering if you knew any pros that did the same and maybe you could make a vid like this for it?
Jamie griffin and Kyonoske Yamashita are two that come to mind. Might have to try it!
Tre flip for me is literally 4 steps for me it’s Pop, Scoop, Flick, Land if you pop and jump straight up the trick will stay underneath you the whole time
I was taught going faster helps to 360 flip but its just scarier
The most important thing forntre flips is to stay square to keep it under you. Didn't even mention this.
Kader isn’t square
@@localjoe haha that's true
@@localjoe you've gotten exponentially better at skating over the past year. Keep up the good work.
@@ryandunn837 thanks man!
he puts his feet like this because he jumps off the stairs with it. Most people spread their feet further apart when doing it down stuff.
Here's the thing, and this applies to most flip tricks but especially Tre flips...if you've learned tre's already, trying to do them like a certain pro and have them look a particular way is not at all a good idea and tends to look worse than they do when you usually do them. Even if you're just using a different foot placement. It's still going to look different and shouldn't be done UNLESS it makes whatever trick you're doing easier. That being said, 9 out of 10 times the way you started doing them will be the most comfortable and once they're dialed in they will look way better than had you tried doing them differently. The best example is when guys would spread their legs out far as possible a few years ago like some of the pros you see. If you didn't learn them that way everyone could tell because they would look forced and leave you looking all stiff with terrible style. Again, with Tre flips DON'T do them in any way besides your own. It will always be the best looking ones you do.
Also where you live and what surface you're usually skating on plays a part in how you place your feet. On a smooth ground you can do it like Kader fairly easy. But for me, I scoop the hell out of my tres hard as shit with my back foot placed just outside the pocket with my toes hanging off a good bit. This is due to the fact I live in the Midwest where the weather destroys our sidewalks roads etc and the more your foot is really on there a few inches off the tail is really helps with the rotation. Otherwise it's often you end up with a 300 flip
Gifted hater was right poser Joe …jk love the vids bro
First like first comments
I'm glad you landed it but you didn't even do your own trick tip. You weren't pushing your foot forward which is how I like to do my tray flips scoop and push forward and it allows you to do a tray flip straight under you without having to jump out way to the side. And also learning how to do tray flip standing still is such a bad idea cuz then you have to relearn everything when you do it rolling. But I commend your efforts you stuck with it and ended up landing a couple. I think if you were to actually employ the techniques that you spoke of you would have a lot more success
the tre flip is all in the scoop!
Facts I know right skaters don't understand that at all.
Stretch so you can lift knee higher
do you genuinely enjoy skateboarding?
Ha very much way more than making these videos
🛹🛹🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇧🇷🇧🇷
I think these kind of videos are innately fault because a beginner or average skater can’t simply mimic a pro’s movement and get the same results.
It’s better to try to find your own way of doing it and then when you’re comfortable you make adjustments to what you already have on lock.
With treflips there’s a pressure aspect that I don’t see you touch on in all of the videos you’ve made on tre flips in the past.
This, unfortunately, is the hard truth no one talks about: we might learn a thing or two about how someone does a trick by taking a closer look, but ultimately everyone learns to do tricks their own way. I've tried to turn my OG 3 flip (jumping high, lots of effort) into a modern, Nyjah-style insta-tre, but only managed to mess up my normal tre flips.
You put your back foot very flat this is the reason why it spin slower to you
Kaders tre flips are ugly af
keep and mind that he(Kader) just 'touches' the tail and already his board jumps like crazy.
