Very informative! Thanks a lot. The first person who said something about sizes. It is so hard to understand what size you need. And too hard to order a helmet and then send it back.
@@EbikeEscape It may not have MIPS, but conversely the Troy Lee helmet is not NTA 8776 rated. The list of the NTA rated helmets is very short at the moment.
I like this lots of features and lots of protection over multiple areas. Hmmm Abus always thought of them as selling bike locks. Well I was leaning to Rad Power Bikes hat. Well I’ll take a wait and see as I want to see the other hats you want to show us. I like this hat looks good too!
Agreed, I didn't know what to expect at first but it's pretty clear they invested some time in this helmet. The price on sale isn't much more than I see a lot of people spending on helmets these days. The helmets I will be reviewing next week have quite a different look. Stay tuned!
Hi nice review. I was looking at locks. Found helmets... Does the shell bulge out more in your opinion than normal bicycle helmets or ok? Have you seen the 2.0 Ace version of this helmet with a visor and ear culs/muffs. Potentially perfect (the rain cover is added value me) with an electric scooter in London, England. Thanks
Hey Jerome, it perhaps is a little bit thicker than some other helmets but look wise this isn't something I even considered until I saw your comment. I did see the Ace - it looks pretty cool and definitely something to consider if you like the visor. It actually looks like an electric scooter helmet. I'm working on getting the 'Winterkit' for the Pedelec 2.0 and will do a video on it if at all possible. Prior to this helmet I just wore a hat under my helmet in winter and then used snowboarding goggles for the extreme days. Cheers
I ordered this helmet online and when I tried it on the first thing I thought was that it did look huge, I felt like a bobblehead. I'm trying to put my vanity aside because I really like the other features/safety specs. Hopefully it will grow on me
Thanks for the helpful review. 2 questions: Does it occur to you that during helmet impact the magnetic "locking" mechanism may come open? It doesn't look completely secure or as secure as the typical old snap mechanism (which I don't like.) Is this, like the Hyban 2.0, "ponytail compatible" as Abus calls it?
In my opinion the locking mechanism isn't going to come open since it really needs to slide. Lots of helmets use this so I imagine they looked into this. And yes the Pedelec 2.0 is ponytail compatible.
if you are riding any kind of assisted bike you should have a full face motorcycle helmet. Nothing else will help you if you tumble at 20 or more mph. It may not look cool but at least you won't break your nose and jaw and lose all your front teeth.
I think the full-face helmets are a good option. I see them a lot on those riding the motorcycle-inspired electric bikes. It isn't very often that we ride 20 mph since we have a kid along on most trips.
Good thought. So these actually slide on so if you pull in them they don't come undone. I did a bit of reading online and they do pull testing with these clasps (they are made by a company called Fidlock). To undo the clasp it's more of a sliding action. Hope that helps!
Rain cover is kinda cool. I am kinda with you on not being sure I would need that. If it rains I get wet. I don’t know if that would make me buy this helmet or not. If you want a good winter helmet look at giro Timberwolf. I ended up just going with the snow board version after looking at their safety rating structure.

Originally wanted to go with the ABUS 2.0 helmet, but isn't MIPS rated. Got a Troy Lee Designs A2 helmet instead. Fits my head like a glove.
Makes sense, I too wish this was MIPS rated. Won't stop me from wearing it though - I love the light and it's still an ebike rated helmet.

Troy Lee designs A2
There is a MIPS version of the Pedelec 2.0 now. :)

Thank you! I really enjoyed working on this one.

@Moses Jonathan Definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone for since december myself =)

i have 57 too, the M is better? would like to wear a thin windbreak (hood) underneath for the winter
Yes, definitely go medium. The large was way too big. And we wear winter hats under it.
@@EbikeEscape today i received the M (in white) .. fits perfect :) thx for the review and the tip!
Glad I could help and saved a potential return 😊
How much UV-A light does the visor block?
the nta 8776 protects only 15 to 20 mph!
Whis in is beter ACE or MIPS version?
I'm not sure if there is a MIPS version but I believe the ACE just comes with the shield and ear pads. Looks very similar to the original Pedelec 2.0
no mention of how to remove the visor + I'm wondering if they sell a visor that extends out a little bit farther?
As far as I'm aware they do not sell a larger visor.
No larger visor, but the Pedelec 2.0 ACE lens visor fits on this helmet and can be bought separately.
Visor?
Won’t that magnetic clasp come undone in the case of an impact?

We definitely bring out the snowboard helmets and goggles in winter if it's really bad.
Thanks for the vid. Casco do the E-motion for electric bikes. Thousand do the magnetic clasp as you know.
How much is it?
MSRP is $150.00 though I've seen it go much cheaper on Amazon so it's worth keeping an eye on: amzn.to/3dMzVz9
