ABUS Bicycle Locks and Helmets

While attending the (e)revolution electric bike show in Denver Colorado, I got to connect with ABUS and learn more about their lineup of cafe locks, frame locks, u-locks, chain locks, keyed-alike locks, helmets, and goggles for use with bicycles and electric bikes! I've purchased some of their products, and received demos in the past, and I appreciate their emphasis on quality and safety. Many of the helmets have lights and reflectors built in. One even has a rain cover!

ABUS makes great products. My teenage son got hit by a truck on his way to school recently, (he's okay) so I'm looking for helmets with lots of bright 360 degree lights on it. Hope to see more of that technology from all the manufacturers.

Yeah, they really do a great job. One of the only companies with the matching key program for ebikes. I like the new helmets a lot too :)

Court, weren't you using an Abus Bordo folding lock, when your bike was stolen from a garage?

You'd be crazy to lock an ebike up anywhere out of your sight

It's such a bummer, because bikes are great for commuting... but then you don't want it damaged or stolen. This is why I tend to go for mid-level when commuting and higher level for mountain and road. If the area is really bad, then a more affordable ebike could make sense.

This is also a good argument for e-bikes with removable external frame mounted batteries and displays. There's much less incentive to steal them without these components since a replacement battery is very expensive and difficult to get and without a battery all you have is a heavy, difficult to ride bike.
