    By far the best review I've seen, and such a great comparison with the older version, thank you!

    What a great review! I paused your video half way through, bought the heritage 2.0 in racing green and I'm now watching the rest of the vid. 🤗

    It's worth mentioning that the Virginia Tech helmet testing lab found this helmet (and its predecessor) two of the lowest rated helmets (215th and 220th of 224) for crash safety compared to other helmets. Meanwhile, the Specialized Mode (a similar-looking urban helmet, with a similar price point) ranked 6th overall. Protect your noggin!

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  9 місяців тому +3

      good to know! Though even if it's the lowest rated among the others, realistically I assume it would be safe and protect you in a crash as it passes standard certifications.

      @@GadgetsGearCoffee True. I used to ride dirt bikes (motorcycles) in the desert when I was a kid. There were no certifications back then. I saw many crashes and I was in some pretty severe crashes myself. I saw serious injuries and had serious injuries. I, however, never saw or heard of any head injuries from people wearing helmets. The fact is that wearing a helmet is so much safer than not wearing one. Certifications, like MIPS, though great raises the price of helmets significantly and provides a small percentage of improvement, if any, depending on the type of accident. I'm guessing there's marketing BS built in too.

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee

      @@vidiia specialized mode has MIPS. That hardly seems like a fair comparison. Thousand chapter MIPS for example is 116th on the list.

      @@GadgetsGearCoffee So the Specialised Mode is the same price as the Thousand Heritage 2.0 but has better safety gear, AS WELL AS being cheaper (and still safer!) than Thousand's Chapter MIPS helmet? Sounds like you should review the Specialised Mode to me ;)

      @@vidiia maybe! I do like the poplock though I have two of my helmets locked to my two bikes. And I can't test the crashing part of the helmet lol but it would be something to note! My speciality is the rest of the user experience and feel of the product

    I just got a Thousand Helmet Heritage 2.0 in matte rubberized black. I used it for the first time today and I LOVE IT !!! ♥It was comfortable and the surprise was that the little visor actually worked to block out direct sun. I chose the matte black only because I hate logos. Your helmet here with the stripe is my favorite but the bold "thousand" logo kept me away. I love the British racing green helmet too. I would love to see a limited edition, with gloss solid colors, without logos, and real leather straps. No complaints from me though. I love my helmet, and the awesome magnetic detachable light too.

      Glad to hear it's working out for you! The visor does surprisingly work, for high sun anyway

    Great review! Thorough (and entertaining). I had been hesitating about buying this helmet but all my questions are now answered. They clearly listen to their customers and made significant upgrades to the first version (which I don’t have btw - I have a 20 year old Giro helmet which I should have replaced years ago). I love the helmet’s retro, stylish looks. I hadn’t been planning on adding the rear light but 40 lumens is nice and bright and you can never be visible enough. I don’t shop in the US but will make sure to click through from your review and try to use the code anyway. Thanks for the review, keep up the great work and safe cycling!

    This is a great review! I need a new helmet and I have a lot of hair so the different adjustments look to make this much more compatible for me. Thanks!

      Ill consider it! Biking season is ending soon here 😢 as I'm not a winter snow and cold cyclist. I have added a rear rack and a side saddle, all stylish of course 😉 have some useful accessories for the rear rack. I can't recall the saddle it came with thr bike and I've never seen anything like it it's like some sort of suede ish

      That show and tell video wasn't all that popular so I'll have to figure out a better angle to making the video, if you have suggestions I'm all ears! And I looked, my saddle is Selle Italia. Which makes sense as it's a Bianchi. I've never seen a saddle with its type of texture before tho

    Hi, I'm deciding to either go with the Thousand heritage or the Outdoor Master...seems identical from the outside anyway. But more importantly, I'd like to have a low profile helmet. Is the Thousand heritage a low profile helmet if adjusted properly?

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  9 місяців тому +1

      I don't have the other but I find it Poe profile, I show it in my video and I have a small head so it'll look even more low profile on anyone else. Whichever you decide, come back and share your experience. If it's the thousand, affiliate link in the description :)

    If you judge a helmet based on form over function then this helmet is for you

      How is this solely form over function. I cover 20 minutes of mostly function so... Explain.
