Really admired, Great work and also sharing these valuable work that I was exploring long time. Very peculiar demo of smoke into fluid that too with clear explanation. I hope I can pressurise the fluid and let it flow to another container. Thank a lot.
Solution for example 1 in Blender 2.92: Works only with the same Resolution Divisions for both of the domains ! - Example : Fluid Domain --> Resolution Divisions :64 Smoke Domain --> Resolution Divisions : 64
I've been struggling with getting the fluid dynamics working for ages, always getting it half done and doing my head in. Thanks for this, I setup as you shown(on a previous video) and bam! got the particles flowing! Now just need to figure out how to render the animation, but getting there thanks to you!!
This is amazing. Just having trouble on the second example. The fluid sort of churns at the bottom but does not go upward with the smoke. Any ideas? Thanks so much for these tutorials.
Great tutorial, got stuck with 2.82. Does anyone know how to make these liquid sims work with a transparent mesh over them? The liquid always disappears when I try putting anything over it, even if it's see through.
That's probably an issue with the rendering engine you're using, not with the fluid simulation itself. Cycles and similar should have no problem with that; if you are using Cycles, try turning up the relevant path depth option. I don't know if Eevee can be made to do this or not.
Hi, I did everything as in tutorial and I got exactly the same effect but. I can see the smoke only in wireframe when I change to Render I have just a cube so I can't maka a movie from the animation. Is there somthing what needs to be done more to be able save/render all animaton as a movie? Thanks in advance.
I tried this tutorial on Blender 2.83 LTS. It does not work. The smoke does not follow the liquid guide at all. However, the exact same blender file works fine without any issue in older Blender 2.82 as well as the latest Blender 2.91.0. I spent almost a day and figured this out. Hope it saves time for someone. This is not issue with the tutorial itself. It's great, BTW. On a side note, even with Blender 2.82, the playback does not show Smoke and Fluid animation at the same time. Blender 2.91.0 shows both smoke and liquid animation simultaneously without any issue.
Reminds me of 3ds max plugin "glu3d". you could do particle sim first then mesh later! also please put ram with your pc specs- me: 5700g 32gb 3133mhz gtx 660 ti. hdd: YES.
And if i only need 1 image? Just like the image if you pause the video at 8 min precisly? Just render 1 frame from the animation or is there an easyer way?
I will say this: a good alternative to making fluid animations(especially for certain “compilations” that exist on a certain site *cough*, use a MetaBall as the object that an emitter plane will render as, and set the emission to liquid then boom liquid
using 2.83 and it crashes the program when bake. it goes fine until bake and then it fails - I can bake both smoke the fluid no problem but they will not combine it crash. The folders are not the same in 2.83 and the final back is different
Hi, everytime I bake data for the smoke simulation, the fluid cache gets deleted automatically, even if I created two separate custom folders for each simulation. What am I doing wrong? Blender 2.83 beta here. Thanks for the tutorial!
Hello Stephan, I'm interested in buying your simulation courses, but in 2.82 changed a lot Softbody, Cloth, Mantaflow, will you update your courses, so we can buy them?
Hi to answer your question yes I am updating all the courses to the current version of Blender. Speaking of which, I just published the update for the Fluid Simulation Course! It's now fully updated to 2.82 using Mantaflow. Next one on the list is the Smoke and Fire Course!
@@BlenderMadeEasy Hey, I'm struggling with getting gasses and liquids to flow around effectors (simulating valves etc) - do you cover flows around complex, moving structures in your course stuff? And any possible help troubleshooting some issues I'm unable to solve?
Yes I am fine haha. I know I haven't uploaded in 2 weeks. It's because I have been working on other projects. I will try to get out a tutorial this week though.

What I like most about your videos is that you also explain what the changes in the settings do

Could you update this tutorial? This doesn't seem to work in more recent versions of Blender
Followed another tutorial, smoke was going straight up...thanks for the simple and correct answer to getting something to follow the guide properly!
really great one, thank you
This is so inspiring. Making smoke like water and making water like smoke look strangely cool!
I didn't know how to use guides before, thank you!
wow, the change cache folder for multiple sims never would have occurred to me.. good lookin out
I like it before watching. Strange times.

awesome guide! I impressed!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am using blender 2.91, the bake button under the "guides" tab doesn't appear
5:23 you know why some time looks blocky? tell me please
Thank you for this! I hope to get it to work in 2.92, but as now, my smoke is not following its guide cylinder. Any thoughts appreciated.

Make sure you material has a principled volume shader.

..thanks
Why when i render with cycles it shows me nothing but the flow and domains cubes?
My cylinder is going threw the emitter, but it's not catching the smoke. I've done everything that you showed, I can't figure it out.

Guides are not working for me with Blender 2.91! :(
Nice
For some reason I can't see the smoke in cycles when rendered in 3.0, anyone have an idea what's happening?
I had to make the resolution divisions the same in both liquid and smoke domains.
For those who complain that it dosen't work, you have to use Blender 2.82.2 released in March 12.
download.blender.org/release/Blender2.82/
anyone have a clue why this only works in 2.82.2?
I guess new blender 2.93 doesn't work this steps. I tried all the step what you thought, but never worked.
