In this video, I explain the reason why I had to cancel my concerts. I know many of you were looking forward to them, and I am deeply sorry for any disappointment this may have caused. I want to be transparent with my fans and share the real reason behind my decision.
In addition, I am excited to announce that I will be releasing new medieval-style hurdy-gurdy music in the future! I can't wait for you to hear it. For that I also got myself a new instrument: the celtic harp! Thank you for your continued support.

I am now 66 yrs old. In my 20s I had a plan for my life. But quickly I found out that plan changed by many things out of my control. Health, family, job loss , etc. You have to learn to adapt and make the best of what you are dealt. Patty, you are one of the most positive , upbeat people I have ever seen on UA-cam. that is why I subscribed to you a couple years ago. I look forward to what you post always. Watching this video I wanted to hug you and console you as a father would.

I was a driver / manager for a small transit company and year and had to take 4 months medical leave plus most likely retire from that career because of a breakdown.
I don't wish such things on others, however most people who haven't experienced long term mental health issues just understand what we are going through.

I'm sitting in Fort Worth, Texas at 9:15 am on July 4. I have over the last 8 months become a HUGE fan of Patty Gurdy; I listen to everything I can find, over and over. At age 71, I find the radiant energy of Patty's music life-giving, and my heart is blessed to hear and see her. Whatever changes you're going through, I remain a fan and will absorb whatever flows from your heart. May the Almighty Lord bless you always!

Hi Patty, our plans rarely survive contact with life. My brother died suddenly a month ago, and for two weeks I was just numb. Thankfully my friends have rallied round and I'm back on an even keel now. Keep playing and singing, because a talent like yours is a gift to the whole world.❤

Sometimes you just have to take time out for yourself. Touring and keeping a positive energy for each gig takes its toll on every band. I hope you all feel much better soon and who knows, you might get to play those concerts one day. ❤

You've gone through some difficult things in your life already, and this is one more mile stone you have to pass. I strongly feel that you are strong enough to get over it yourself, but you have lots of people that love and support you through anything. You are an awesome musician.

Just a few months ago I came across to a girlie with brillant sound, spent a life in music and gifted to compose such lively tunes. As a man older than her what I would give to her right now is that we do not surrender when we feel exhausted and worn out. At first we fight to stand back and next we just stand up. That harp you've got on this video would be a nice way for the first step. Try covering your own tune 'One by One' on that. You win as long as you want to win.

Firstly, I extend my condolences and best wishes to any band members who are having family or health problems. I hope things improve for them soon. I'm a subscriber and a huge fan. I can't possibly thank you enough for sharing your gifts of music with all of us. I'd love to see you guys live someday, but in the meantime, I'll keep scouring the internet for all your music. I'm also a huge trad-folk fan and listen to anything from Pierre Bensusan to Eivor Palsdottir. Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Mairead Nesbitt, Hillary Klug, The Harp Twins (and I love your new harp!,) Gria, The Dark Isle Piper, Danu, Linda Nic Leoid, Niamh Farrell, Julie Fowlis and that whole Celtic music colony from the Hebrides -- if it's Celtic I collect it. It does not matter what the issue(s) is. Whether it is you personally or a bandmate. 1) It is no one else's business. Rumors be damned. 2) whatever the issues are, those should be faced shoulders squared, headon, with dignity. From what I have seen you are doing just that. Too many people seem to jump on the rumor mill at the slightest issue when in reality they know exactly nothing about what is or is not going on. Looking forward to more great music. And I pray that whatever healing is need comes through as soon as maybe possible.

I would love to see you collaborate with the Swiss Celtic Metal band Eluveitie...though not sure how that fits in with Harp music, hehe. I'm glad that you're still bursting with creativity and it's okay to step away from touring and all that crazy stuff a road musician has to deal with and just take a deep breath and be creative purely for your own enjoyment. We'll still be here whenever you want to come back.

Hello Patty. I always follow you especially when my mood is celtic folk. Have you ever considered a Calaboration with maybe the Harp Twins? They love the medevil side to their music. I think their light airy voices could blend well with your strong beautiful voice. Thanks for sharing. I saw a DIO Black Sabbath concert of Die Young. He vamped it in the middle. Explaining what his symbol met to him. Not the origins. Paraphrasing, he said it means Rockin Roll will never die. So, I use this with that meaning. Metal Bands have turned it to be backward of DIO. I think all music have similar origins. So, maybe use the DIO gesture with a wave like you're holding a 🕯. A symbol for all music to live on. Sorry...Oldman rant. Hello Patty Gurdy, just tuned in and really like your heart felt music. I've been going thru ruff times for 2 years and was homeless for a year and a half. But I never gave up and it was hard to deal with, I kept listening to Scottish Folk music and Music +laughter is the best medicine. Sometimes we need to close our eyes to really see everything clearly. A good song to play and sing is the Drunk Scotsman, it's funny and a lively tune. If by any chance, you have a concert in Kansas state near Hays "hint, hint" please let me know because I would love to go and amerce myself and for a time to forget about this world of darkness. I been viewing a lot of your music, and it's like being home with family drinking hot chocolate and talking about the good times. But I am the only one left out of my family now as they all have passed. Thank you for the wonderful music as it gives me comfort every lonely night. you, Patty Gurdy, are not only my blessing but many out there.

Hey Patty, I really enjoy your music a lot and I think you have beautiful hair. Hair which I see has some beautiful waves. As a wavy girl myself I would like to suggest you look into the Curly Girl/Curly Hair method. It's a hair care method for all textured hair from waves to curls as all of us people with textured haur should pass on some ingredients in hair products like silicones, harsh cleaning agents, mineral oil and drying alcohols and we also shouldn't brush our hair dry as it rips the waves or curls apart.
We can protect our hair at night to help it not to detangle too much between wash days.
I hope you see my comment and consider looking into the method as I think it could really benefit your hair 😊.
