You guys caught something I missed! You should be able to route larger cables like USB 3.0 through the long gap underneath the motherboard - Either by routing the cable before mobo installation, or routing it off to the right side of the board (where the gap is larger) before sliding it over to the header. Sorry for the glaringly obvious oversight! #derplyfe #4giveme #humanerrorstrikesagain
Bitwit on a side note whens the RGB Review for the Lian-Li Alpha 550? :D
What I'm interested in is the invertible mobo.
Especially wants to see the temps if you blow the inverted mobo and GPU with the top fans, since GPU's can be temp sensitive.
Honestly, if they do a case with 3.1 usb front panel and quick phone charge on the top, that will be perfect :) i still prefer the pro 900 for the charge feature
Bitwit i just bought be the 900 pro white too shiiiiiiittt
Bitwit was going to mention it but couldn’t make sure
Dude just run the USB 3.0 front panel connector first. Then put the motherboard in. You can then keep the cover on the PSU shroud. That would keep the clean look you are going for
Or, that mobo had a second USB 3.0 header next to the 24-pin power. Use that one instead.
Now guys that's just too logical...
I built a system with this case and can easily get the usb 3.0 thru without having panel off.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Thank you for showcasing a case that the motherboard can reverse orientation. I have a shelf on the left side of my room and would still like to show off the rgb goodness.
Thank you! Building a computer for the first time ever! Your vids have been some of the most helpful. I did get this exact case and love it!!!
I've built in 2 BeQuiet cases now and one thing I can say easily is their cases hands down have some of the best build quality I've ever seen in any case. Seriously, I've worked with a lot of cases from crap generics, to budget friendly but surprisingly good aerocool, to very expensive Cooler Master and Phanteks Enthoos, but every BeQuiet case I've worked with (I have a Dark Base Pro 900 and my partner has the Silent Base 800) have left me more than a little impressed by just how good the build quality is with their cases compared to most. Even compared to a lot of the high end cases I've worked with. They're that good.
Also, when it comes to fans. You should take into account that those fans sold separately go for about 20 quid each ($27 USD each). They're really good fans with fluid dynamic bearings. So you should factor the quality of those fans and their relative cost when considering the overall cost of the case and it's quality. So in this case, $54 dollars of this case's value is built up just in the high end fans that it comes included with. All in all, it's an expensive case, but I do think it's reasonably priced.
Just got mine in the mail with a third Silentwings 3 fan. I cannot wait to order all my parts on Black Friday and build this beauty. I forgot how fun PC building can be.
Thanks for taking time to make this review this was a big help in helping me choose a great case to have my computer built into. You did a fantastic, informative and interesting review. One of the nicest presentations on UA-cam
I got this case and I absolutely love it. Thanks for the review.
Love the colorsceam of the build. Nice video man!
This might be weird suggestion, but kyle if you ever read this. Why don't you get low profile turntable or modified one, so you can spin the case without needing to lift it when it full of components. Plus look cooler as well.
Rotceh64 I think you've just convinced me!
Kool. I keep see tech tubers lift the computers they built to show the back side or do b-roll of it. I thought this would be great idea to not over stress yourself. As well if you were do live builds in future, life so much easier( cable management YO!)
Bitwit they're called lazy Susan's.
Who do you think he is? Carey Holzman? Lol
this review answered SO MAny of my questions!! Thank you very much
This looks like an amazing case. I have a BeQuite Darkbase 600, and I love it
awesome case i just bought it and got everything swapped over from my nzxt 340 elite. it runs a lot cooler. im happy with it.
birdsoup777 How would you say the air flow is? Have you had any issues so far?
WOLVANG excellent case, no issues.
None. 29 -32 C overall case temp. I do have five fans. 4 x 140 mm, 1 x 120 mm. I use 4 of those corsair magnetic pwm fans. awesome.
I love Be Quiet. I have the 900 Pro. It's beautiful!
It's a great case. Their products really live up to the name.
Gotta say you know so much and you and wifeysauce are awesome to watch. Thank you.
Great review! I was just looking into the be quiet cases recently...
I still use a 5.24" optical or 2. Been looking around. Might need my jig saw.
i bought this case a month after this review. It's still looks new to this day. This is the only case i bought, that has not fallen apart a few months later.
Pass the usb 3 cable through before you put the motherboard in.
Dammit..
What's the reason for mounting the rad to the top as opppsed to the front when the top panel is almost blocked?
I can't wait for pt. 2 of the Elite Build
As a proud owner of the Pure Base 600, I can testify of the amazing build quality, even at a €80 ($100) price point.
The 700 seems like the deluxe version; with the 3,5 inch covers, PSU shroud, invertible tray and many other small things.
If it fits your budget, definitely buy this case.
Another tremendous video, keep it coming.
Love the look and sound of the case. Not so in love with the price. Opted for a more middle of the road tempered glass case instead for my new build.
I purchased this case, and its so gorgeous. I was able to put the USB cable under the MB, no problem.
good job, really notice the extra effort with this one
If you pre-route the usb header is the thickness of the cable thin enough so you dont have to route it under through the shroud?
Nice been waiting for a review on that case
thanks to you i found a new case :) just ordered it
Thanks for your review. It's Feb '19 and I just now discovered it. I've been looking at the "White" edition of the BQ DB 700. It's a limited edition of 3000 cases. It's still under $200 and while I really like the White I don't have "need" for a new system. But I really "Want' it, haha. Thanks again for your review.
Love your Video's Man! keep it up!
I'm just a bit worried about airflow with it. That top panel seems very restrictive.
Dawid Does Tech Stuff You are 100% correct. There is practically no room at all once the fans are mounted. And having more than a single 140 at the top is pointless as there is no place for the air to go and it just bounces back. The top panel is the only gripe I had with my db700. However, I bought the case with the intent to mod it. Once I cut a hole big enough to support 2 120 fans and installed a grill it is perfect. I highly recommend this case for modders and water coolers.
@@loosegroove7913 This case looks perfect for what I want excluding this one flaw. How would I go about modding it as you described? I got a 280 radiator I was hoping to mount on the top
Hi Kyle, great review as always. Can I ask as you've built systems in both cases, what do you prefer the H700i or the Dark Base 700? Cheers
BeQuiet makes some really good cases. I have the 900rev 2 and am able to stuff it with all kinds of stuff! And it still looks great.
I like how all the parts join together well, and the case is not flimsy. The entire rig weighs 65 lbs, so it has to be of stout stuff.
Well at least I know to pass sata cables through before motherboard installed, thank you 👍👍👍👍👍
Would it work to route the bottom USB header cables before you install the motherboard, or is there too little space even for that?
6:40 Just do that, before mounting motherboard.
you can easily have front mounted radiator + side-mounted drive trays. using EVGA CLC 280 with push/pull and two 3.5" drive trays. radiator & 2x push fans inside the front panel, 2x pull fans between radiator & drive trays.
"and some large feet, you know what that means ladies" I'm eating breakfast and watching this, and after a few seconds it hits me, and I laugh out loud :P
"Classy chassis", you sir are an excellent poet
theyre a german brand, u really think it was gonna be shit?
You ever driven a Volkswagen?
@@jaydeno5495 well, the Volkswagen Group owns Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and porsche. I don't think any of those are shit. Volkswagen also is the "people's car", it doesn't have to be the best in any way. the volkswagen group is also owned by Porsche SE, so you can also say "You ever driven a Porsche?" instead.
Klank123 comparing a porsche to a volkswagen isn’t very fair, plus them owning companies that produce hyper/super/luxury cars is completely different from the “family car” that volkswagen themselves produce, they’re designed and produced by entirely different places/things
@@24wherath36 German cars are unreliable shit cars these days, with the exception to Porsche maybe. You have no idea what you're talking about.
@@Zgmflegend facts man, shit made of plastic now it's sad
Great video, Kyle!
But do I really have to pop off the side panel to switch between silence and performance mode for the fans?
Regarding your cutouts comment on the USB 3.0 connectors not fitting. I agree with you. Perhaps they should have considered this and split the covers to allow partial removal in a 3/4 1/4 cover.
So im guessing you just gave up on the 10k enthoo elite build. I was incredibly excited for it aswell.
+NovaTastic Part 2 is coming this week. I made some changes to the parts that I felt would greatly add to the epic-ness of the build. I knew those parts would take a while to ship but I felt it was worth the wait.
6:40 solution to usb 3.0 connector: but it through before installing the MOBO the head is too big to fit through but the cable itself is thin so it rides smoothly through the gap
6:48 I haven't been hands on with a large amount of motherboards but im fairly certain that near enough all modern motherboards that are above say ~$120 (so any motherboard that you would pair with a case of this price) have a USB 3.0 port on the side of the motherboard near the 24 pin and actually if you have a look at 8:46 the motherboard kyle is using has that port there too so if removing that panel was sun a big deal why not use the other port? Additionally i find that right angle connectors for USB 3.0 headers often look a huge amount better that having a massive ugly plug sticking out an inch from your motherboard
the longer the video went the sweeter the case looked def top 3 2017 for me!
That looks sick
Good to see another case that has the rear fan sunk in the rear. I don't like it when the rear fan covers up the nice RGB on the io cover.
Very very good Review!
Hook me up with an old game right build for my Christmas present and make it a tax write-off, love your channel and pick up lots of info from you, and your grandparents are adorable from tv upgrade video.
Feel like the bottom cut out needs to be wired first before putting in the MB in order to get the bigger ones through but who knows
This review is really great because you also showed that it's possible to install a 280mm radiator on top when using low profile rams. Exactly what I searched for. Thanks for that. Does anybody of you guys know if there are x470 boards with too big vrm heatsinks so that you may run into issues with a 280mm be quiet silent loop aio installed on the top? --> the dark base 900 rev2 case would be an alternative, but that does not fit under my desk .... it's too high.
Ad for a case before a video about another case. What has this world come to...
Omar Anees He's gotta eat. It's not so bad.
SAFFY7411 ik lol, it was a joke.
any ad is better than the h500p ad.
Whole thing is an Ad.
Yep....and the funny thing......the Lian Li Alpha 500 is a better case to :P
Great review. I’m going to get this.
BTW - what brand and model is your u-shaped desk?
i know it may be a bit late to tell this but i think at 6:33 you can pass the use 3 connectors before screwing down the motherboard and then you may not need to remove the modular panel
What case is better this one or the NZXT H510 Elite
Also the cover of the power supply from the tempered glass side can be removed, great job Kyle you always deliver good content with data but dont kill us with boring explanations.
hows the airflow in this case? my room runs fairly warm so keepin the system cool is a priority
X399 msi pro carbon has 2 USB 3.0 headers that are side plug off the right side of board. Raise a driveway cover by 1 click and they slide right in. Btw the drive bay covers can be closed, locked open 1/2 Inch or removed to insert the drive bay cage
THE BEST CASE EVER! i think that this case for this price is awesome, w/ usb c
Is the back panel not modular like the dark Base pro 900 TG that could be lowered for radiator options.
Well 9:02 told me that this case was a no-go. I have a 280mm radiator and the same RAM kit. That along with the price kind of discourages me.
Just got the Fractal Design Meshify C for $69 with free shipping on Newegg. It's still on sale as of now.
Did you turn this on to see how effective that AIO is when mounted there? I would love to see how it went. I used a dark base 900 pro and it had a shockingly bad time moving air out the top, that i had to change case entirely
Can the fan controller be linked to your motherboard to create different fan curves or is it only meant to be seperate.
The pre-roll ad is a different case hahaha
7:33 or just set the usb3.0 cable before putting in the motherboard
7:00 yes that's a bit strange, but i think you can pass the usb 3.0 cable and then install the motherboard if you don't want to remove part of this cover
can you flip the power supply shroud when you flip the motherboard tray?
Would I be able to mount a RGB ssd to the tempered glass side?? or am I only able to mount a ssd on backside?
That top panel looks like it adds a lot of resistance for the air exiting the radiator?
@12:57 tie down points on the ssd bracket....? Trying taking the bracket off after doing that hahaha
What if I take out the bequest fans and put in for noctua 120 fans? Is it still some what quiet?
when the mobo is inverted is there space to fit the h150i with push pull on the top of the case.
man, this case is so beautiful. does the front panel restrict airflow enough to consider another case for better airflow? im going to run a AMD 3900x with a NH-D15 cooler.
I think the top and bottom slot are there , so you can flip the interior of the case to the other side
it is possible to mount on the top an aio cooler like corsair h110i gtx with 280 rad and 140mm fans?
Im wondering how well the top radiator gets to exhaust warm air out and not circulate it back to the case? I think there's not enough ventilation holes at the top of the case for decent air flow.
if you put the usb connector through the hole before you installed the motherboard you would not have to remove basement panel
How will air escape from the top if there is a hard cover covering 1 of the radiator fans?
is it possible to get yellow led lights? can you mix colors or change them somehow?
Gorgeous
You could route the sata under the motherboard through the gap, before installing the motherboard... Possibly?
Just bought my first Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 120mm pwm fans. Wow. The airflow is impressive and the noise level is non existent all the way to 1200rpm. Much better than the Corsair and Cooler Master RGB fans.
Can I control the rgb with corsairs iCue? Probably not but hopefully I can
Great vid
Can ssds be mounted on top of the power supply shroud?
Can you also do a review and build in the new Lian Li alpha 330W with RGB fans
On the be quiet website it said that the top did not support 280 radiators but according to your build it does? I’m confused... should I buy a 280mm rad??
Could you pass the cables through before mobo installation? Seems the cable part would fit through the opening.
I wish they would make one with the entire front and top in mesh instead of solid brushed aluminum..or steel idk
want max airflow
Do you think maybe the front panel connectors were meant to pass through before the motherboard was installed?
Nice Video, but one Question! The Pump Tach Cable from the Kraken is Going to the CPU_Fan or AIO_PUMP, nur where is the PWM Cable from the BeQuiet Fan Controller going?
I plan on using the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 for a Ryzen 7 5800x 3D on an MSI meg x570 Unify inside a Be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Window Black ATX Full Tower Case. My original concept was to use a Noctua nh-U12A.
Could you pass the USB 3.0 cable through before the mobo is put in?
Does it have anywhere to put a disk drive or a fan controller?
Хотел взять 900, но остановился на 700 RGB, благодаря твоему обзору. Спасибо!
I wanted to take 900, but stopped at 700 RGB, thanks to your review. Thank!
Hello guys i have a question since i decided to build my first PC and i wanna use GA-170-D3H mobo but i saw that it runs 2133Mhz RAM Frequence and i wanna put in Team Delta 3000Mhz ... so my question is does the motherboard have an XMP profile and if it does, will that bring me problems when booting the system ? P.S. sorry for my bad English...
