    I'm the opposite of a nervous flyer. My reasoning is, not matter what you do or can do, if the plane is going to crash, it's going to crash. You can't prevent or change that. So being worried and nervous is completely pointless.

    As a working flight attendant, I'd like to say thank you for this. A lot of these "hacks" are things we do on a daily basis. Most of this is very good, there are a few issues, though. 1, Personal liquor is a NO NO. It's against the law in the United States. Don't even try. The consequences can be very severe; 2, While it may be less expensive to purchase WiFi in advance you may run into an issue where the WiFi is out of service. Be sure to know how to get a refund; 3, If the TSA does call you out on bringing too much to security, be prepared to toss some of the less essential items so your items do fit the quart sized bag. Don't try to argue with them. They always win. Anyway, for all your followers, enjoy your flights and this big beautiful wide world.

    Very helpful however i advise against the essential oils. Or at least just use them prior to your flight if you have to use them. A lot of people have scent sensitivities. There is nothing worse than being stuck in a tube, filled with recirculated air and having someone use a scented product that ends up giving you a headache or a worse reaction. So while it may help you relax it could potentially put someone else in agony for hours.

      Kristiana Chancy Yes it still can give someone a headache. You obviously do not have scent sensitivities. It doesn't matter if it's the worlds best essential oils. When you have issues with scents, no matter what the ingredients it can still trigger an extremely severe reaction. Don't comment on something when you have no idea on the matter.

    • @kristiananoel
      @kristiananoel 6 років тому +8

      jennacablair lol okay. I know more then you’re assuming. But I’ll keep using my essential oils all day, everyday - whether I’m on a plane or not. Hella better then people who bring fish, eggs, or fast food on a plane. Those stink up a plane so bad

    1:33 this only works if you’re on a non-discount airline that occasionally flies with a less than full plane. On Southwest, Ryanair, et. al., the plane will always be full or they would never be profitable. I fly Southwest often and it’s bad enough to be stuck with a middle seat, but then when I get there, I find a couple that has selected the Aisle and window seat and placed their personal belongings in the middle seat to discourage anyone else from sitting there. Ahem, cough, sir and/or madam, that’s actually my seat, and if I could sit in it that would be greatly appreciated. Now if you want to sit together that’s totally fine, and I’m more than happy to switch seats with someone. but don’t roll your eyes and huff and puff at me for wanting to sit in the seat that I paid for and thus foil your ingenious plan to get an extra seat for free.

    When I was a travel agent a lot of times when people were flying from say NYC to LAX they would have a choice to connect in either Chicago or Dallas. If they were travelling in the winter, I always suggested going through Dallas. It might seem obvious, but I was shocked that most people didn't think of this themselves. Dallas isn't as likely to have heavy snow and blizzards in the winter, so it was worth it not to risk a canceled flight or delays. No guarantees, but better chances.

    Miles and points are the best kind of rabbit hole to get stuck into. Especially when you get into the more advanced tricks :
    Like the idea of booking a round trip award ticket with United on Swiss from say Paris to Geneva and back just so you can use their obscure "Excursionist Perk" to get a free flight between those dates from say Cape Town to Accra, Ghana. Just have to leave a big enough gap in your schedule to nest in that African flight
    16,000 United miles and $80 to fly round trip in Europe and get a free $400 flight across Africa is a win win IMO

    The only one I don't entirely agree with is carry-on only ... as an Australian we tend to take lengthy trips, 6-8 weeks aren't unusual. We're just so far away and the flights are so expensive we make sure we make it's worthwhile. So most of the time you have to check your bags in.

      If you travel infrequently, 6-8 weeks at a time, tips like TSA precheck, checked bags, etc are less of an issue. If you travel frequently, carry on only is essential to save time (I've waited 2 hrs for bags) as well as allow flexibility (standby for earlier flight or other changes in flight). We have reduced it to traveling with just a personal item for a week! It's very liberating when you see how much you can scale down, but only if you are motivated.

    I’ve been forced to check my carry on twice in the past year because they didn’t have room on the plane, so keep that in mind and figure out what to do with your valuables.

    I like taking red eyes especially when flying with kids. They usually zonk out after take off and you don't have to worry about entertaining them or spend the full day traveling. Plus my kids love going on airplanes in their pjs.

    The TRVL pillow or knock off is one of the best things out there. I sleep so much better on planes now. Face masks also. Hotel slippers. Ear Plugs if you need it. My kids have flown Business Class and grumble when they pass it to head to economy- I make them an amenity kit of snacks, treats, toys to elevate the economy experience. They love it and are worried they will not get it when we fly Business again. To promote carryon only, ebooks and not books. Packing light and never checking is key to saving time, flexibility. I rarely even use a carryon anymore. We started using personal item (18x14x8in) so there is no additional costs for discount airlines, international short flights. Just returned from a 7d trip to Peru where my daughter and I shared a personal item.

    Please don't drink your own alcohol on board. Really. In the US its a HUGE no-no (it's actually against FAA regulations). As a flight attendant, I'll beg you not to drink your own alcohol. If you get caught (and trust me passengers love to tell on other passengers) you're bound to have a miserable flight.

    being a flight attendant and working various jobs in the airline industry, a lot of these "tips" or "hacks" make me absolutely cringe. you are allowed to bring mini alcohol bottles through security but they have to adhere to all the liquid restrictions and include them in your liquid bag allotment. IT IS AGAINST MANY AIRLINE'S POLICIES TO CONSUME YOUR OWN ALCOHOL ON BOARD. Be aware that doing this can cause a lot of problems for yourself. Also don't come across as that rude passenger. Now a days almost all seats in an airplane will be full. Pick the seats you actually WANT and stick with them. There is less stress and confusion during boarding. Although people may get away with jumping into the wrong lines, it isn't a good look for you and ticket agents can make remarks on your profile in case you make this a habit for your trip. People pay a lot of money to have these privileges in the airport or fly so much that they are never around their families. You can ALWAYS ask if they don't mind helping you since there is no line. Usually people want to work and help pass the time and you wont come across as trying to "cheat the system". Know the baggage policies for the airline you are flying on and don't be the person trying to sneak on extra baggage. It slows down the boarding process if they ask you to adjust and adhere to the policies. That can create stress for you and other passengers. Honestly you could go through your whole traveling experience using these sneaky hacks and not have any issues, but if you get caught, it really isn't worth the headache or added stress. I DO LOVE THE TIP TO ALWAYS HAVE A PEN!!!!!!!

      @blondevlogger 5 років тому +4

      Jennifer Henke thank you for saying this! I thought the alcohol thing was common knowledge as it says it on the airline menu and/or seatback pocket card.
      Also just picking the seat you actually want and stick with it because it makes it easier for everyone. Especially if someone has a special request or special meal. As someone who requests a special meal every time, I try my best to be as polite and not-needy as possible for flight attendants

    • @islandmama
      @islandmama 4 роки тому

      I love the tip to bring something nice for the Flight attendants.
      Although not for the reason she said.. special treatment.
      Most people don't realize that serving passengers and being at their beck and call is not the full job description of a flight attendants. GA's are there to keep you safe. Yet people are so rude to them. People tip servers but not FA's.
      Here hack should be be polite to your flight attendants, they are not there to be your slave but rather to keep you safe and that is why they want you to follow the rules.

    YES! I love this video and how helpful it is! I've totally gotten curucao liquor and rum sample bottles and brought home 6 of them with me on the plane! I usually pack only carry on so at first I was worried they wouldn't let me through with so many but it was totally fine! And my friends back home appreciated it too ;)
