We travel together and I still didn't know all this!
that's cuz its not true
1. Free water bottles - if the hotel has a gym, they should have bottled water provided there (plus fruits!). If not, the front desk might provide water, or certain hotels (like Starwood hotels) will provide complimentary water that might not be obviously marked as free.
2. Amenities - most hotels will provide an assortment of amenities you might not know, such as deodorant, tampons, shaving kits, sewing kits, makeup mirrors, slippers, even random items like fans and extra chairs... just ask!
3. Free fridge - if the hotel charges for fridges, if you just tell them you use it for medication or use it to store baby milk, they will give it to you free of charge. Not that you should lie...
4. Late checkouts - I used to be scared of staying in the room any second after check-out time, but from working in a hotel, I realised (especially if the hotel is huge), nothing happens if you stay after check-out time. If you leave the DND (do not disturb) sign on and they can hear you in the room, the room attendant/housekeeper will not bother you. They're used to having people stay in the rooms longer than they should. I wouldn't push it past a few hours, but I know from experience that there are more important things for front desk/housekeeping to worry about than to make sure you're charged for staying an extra hour.
5. To get a higher floor/better room/"upgrade" - guests at my hotel would always get moved to a better room/floor if they complained about the cleanliness or view of their room, even if they weren't very legitimate complaints. And if a hotel is overbooked with a certain room type, you might get an upgrade.
That's all I can think of for now!
You are disgusting. Stay home and don't scam honest workers, like a thief.I've had poor people in my hotel and I gave them anything I had for free because they didn't ask; I would put you lying ass on the street so fast you won't have the time to say "upgrade".

Sales teams have targets is because sales team and GMs have direct bookings targets. The reason that hotels match the prices of hotel comparison sites is because they’d rather have the direct booking than lose money to Agoda or Trivago.
Omg the best rate guarantee. Wouldnt the hotel see that same person cancelled and rebooked through elsewhere? Love the air bnb hack last min! Def gonna try hitting up the owners next time!
It doesn't matter because who's going to complain about you booking to get the best rate? They can't blaim you for that.If they aren't gunna give you the best rate, then you'll go somewhere else for it but most hotels will.

As an AirBnB SuperHost, I can tell you that if a guest tries to negotiate with me, I will not book them. I understand that with hotels and other businesses, it's common to negotiate, but when you're going to someone's home, it's a bit different. This has actually been discussed extensively in my host networks. If you want a good AirBnB host, you may not want to negotiate. Just a word of caution.
it works not only with hotels: when I was a student and traveled from London to Paris, for schengen visa I booked a ticked on a train with no cancelation fees and when I got my visa, I cancelled my ticked and booked another cheaper one on the same train
Wow you must be an American or Canadian cause in the rest of the world that attitude of not negotiating will get back to the people for who this video is focused on. It won't hurt you cause you get business from the traditional people. The idea of even asking and being told that you won't take their business just for asking is pretty arrogant of you. Just say the price is non-negotiable and leave it at that.
I was on a top floor in a hotel it wasn't quite... You hear the elevators 24/7..
