My all-time favorite travel tips and hacks in one place.
As advised, I got rid of my tight fitting pants. But other travellers did not appreciate me sitting in my underwear.
😂😂😂😂😂
hahahahaha!
So many opinions about clothing--here's mine. Hoodies and sweat pants are way too casual for me when I'm flying. As someone who sews, I'm familiar with the way different fabrics burn. I avoid polyester or performance fabrics when flying because of the way they scarily melt. Natural fibers for me when flying!
So true! Good to hear you found what works for you!
So, you’re expecting to spontaneously combust? If the plane goes down, we all die anyway.
Melt? Wdym by that?
@@Ishaq018synthetic fibers, polyester, nylon, spandex, etc melt at flame temperature because they are all versions of plastic.
Natural fabrics burn, but don’t melt. Cotton, linen, silk, fur, etc do have a flashpoint at extreme temperature, but it is a smoldering burn and can’t melt.
@@Ishaq018 .. in case of a crash.
As a retired airline employee, please allow me to make a suggestion about footwear. (And this also applies to train travel, busses, etc.) I NEVER wear sandals or flip flops. In the unlikely event that you have to evacuate the aircraft in a hurry at the gate, on a taxiway, or runway, your feet may be the difference between a good outcome, and...not so good.
I guarantee that the people behind you won't care that you're wearing flip flops, and by the time you get to the ground your feet will be hamburger! Think about that the next time you fly through MSP, when it's 9 degrees, and a -25 wind chill!
Maybe cooked hamburger😮😮😮
This woman gave the stupidest clothing advice ever!
True. Also, flip-flops make you tired, because you have to tense your feet to keep them on. Walk in them very long, and your feet and legs will be tired. When I see a family where the kids are in flip-flops, I feel sure that pretty soon after landing they will be dragging tired, kids cranky around.
Plus really hard to run through the airport in if you are running late.
I always wear a good pair of runners when flying. I’ve always wondered, what about the female flight attendants footwear, how fast would they be able to run with their heels (or sometimes boots) in case of an emergency?
Compression leggings or socks can help stop the development of DVT which is often a danger of longer air travel.
I often wear long dresses, and have never had my clothing snag or drag on anything. I prefer them, as I can wear another layer underneath, because I am always freezing on long flights.
I only wear yoga pants when I'm doing yoga. I've fly about once a month. Jeans are no problem if the fit correctly, not too tight. I also wear a belt and don't have issues going thru security. I never check a bag, so I like to wear my largest items (jeans and sweater). I'm kind of tired of seeing people in the airport look like they are wearing pajamas.
I agree with you😮
They are wearing pajamas. Slippers too!
Depends on the type of belt you wear, and whats the issue of ppl wearing comfy clothing, also depends on the weather you're traveling of course, but it can be best
I've never had a problem with wearing jeans on a plane. :)
That’s great! Happy travels!
Me neither, it very much depends on the style and fit.
I have always worn jeans (100% cotton). They are not tight or constricting & I have always been comfortable.
Jeans are perfectly comfortable if you just buy ones that fit! It seems that so many people don't realize this.
I only wear jeans or long pants if I’m at a formal event. Shorts 1000 times more comfortable on a plane
Hello Megan retired canadian traveler from Kingston here.
As per the merino wool recommendation, I did tons of research on the topic before taking off on a one bag travel last winter to s.e. asia and I found the merino wool blend to be the most ideal (the downfall of merino wool is it tends to bunch up or wear to holes and a blend helps with the durability. My research seemed to indicate that a 80-90% merino wool wound around a NYLON core has all the benefits with no negatives. The outer merino wool weave is what is in contact with the skin and the nylon gives the fabric some stretch (and most importantly) more strength to prevent deformation. Nylon is more preferred then polyester (not just in merino wool blends but in clothing in general) because of one key reason. While it is true that polyester does not absorb any water, while nylon will absorb 5% the downfall of poly is it WILL absorb oils, while nylon will not (plus nylon is more stretchy). When i mean oil's i mean body smells, so nylon will not eventually hold on to unwanted odors like poly will. That is why for me the merino wool nylon core blend is such a winner... All the anti odor protection, more the double the durability! WIN!
Keep up the good work, I enjoy your channel!
Thanks for taking the time to share this! Happy travels, James!
Thanks for sharing this insight
James, do you have any brands you'd recommend? Thanks!
I wear comfy jeans with no belt, I keep that in my suitcase, a loose comfy black t-shirt, slip on shoes and I bring a pair of slides for the flight. I’m definitely going to look into compression socks for my next long haul flight.
Wool, no matter what kind, no exceptions, is ALWAYS itchy to me. Cotton sweaters only.
Wool always makes my skin feel like it’s burning. I have sensitive skin and severe allergies.
I always have a pair of paper booties in a sandwich bag in my purse or pocket. Barefoot or sock foot, it grosses me out to think of the germs on public floors/carpets and then putting my foot or now contaminated socks back in my shoes! So I always have paper booties to use. Then simply remove and turn outside in and back in the sandwich bag.
Wrong, wrong, wrong, about capes and ponchos! They're more convenient (no struggling with sleeves) double as a blanket or a pillow, and pack flat rather than take up room like a bulky jacket or sweater. Even acts as a foot rest. Nothing cozier on a coolish "redeye" than snuggling under a non-restricting poncho with a warm hood. More people should try them!
On long flights I will wear lightweight loose joggers WITH zippered pockets. Peace of mind that important things (money, passport, bording pass, etc) don't slip out unnoticed
I used to have "airport jeans" - they were at one point a size down to avoid them losing a fight with gravity at security screening (it's happened to all of us right!) without needing a belt either, kills two birds with one stone, these days they actually fit properly but still stay where they're supposed to without assistance. I love my skate shoe style trainers when flying as well, super easy to get off & on at security while being pretty comfortable & hoodies just too handy not to have as worst case scenario, they work well as a makeshift pillow if need be! Best thing though is a good, quality pair of noise cancelling headphones, such a lifesaver particularly on early flights if you want to catch a nap during the flight.
I am glad you raised all these relevant points and they affirmed my airport and aeroplane uniform, esp for the compression socks. My aeroplane uniform consists of navy flare loose-fit trousers (no belt), a cotton T-shirt under and a taupe cashmere jumper on top, and comfortable linen sneakers (with compression socks). I always travel like this so I feel comfortable and look polished. I keep my hair in a low chignon bun. That's my go-to style for travel.
Thanks for watching!
Track pants (mid season thickness), a long-sleeve tee, zip up hoodie (allows thermo-regulation) which can also be taken off, turned around and used as a complete face cover for sleeping, runners/joggers/track shoes around airport and onto plane, but super light weight, fluffy-lined travel slippers to wear on the plane.
Sounds like you have it covered! Happy travels!
I always like you videos and have used many of your tips! I recently stretched out across empty seats on the plane 9:16 9:16 and was glad that I wore lose fitting pants. I also started wearing compression socks and find that I am a lot more comfortable on long flights. Keep the great info and tips coming!
Thanks! Glad to hear it’s helpful!
Great tips as always Megan - I totally agree on the loose fitting, non-restrictive clothing and layering is key!
Absolutely!! Happy travels, Tina!
I have been wearing jeans for hundreds of flights with no problem at all.
I'm at that age where cabin pressure just started to make me uncomfortable! Thanks for the suggestions! Be sitting in sweat pants and a sweat shirt in first class next trip! LOL...
Jeans are typically made of cotton and in a fire emergency are better to wear than synthetic leggings which melt into your skin (and I do mean melt into your skin, ask any burn center) should there be a fire. And the flame doesn't have to touch it, just the exposure to the UV and heat radiation will melt it to your skin as you pass by the fire area. I would advise against wearing synthetics for that reason. Yes, airline accidents are more rare today, but what risk do you want to take? And wear shoes that allow you to be active if you need to do a quick evacuation. And guys, there are TSA approved belts out there that are stylish and easy to loosen when sitting, I wear mine all the time when going through TSA pre-check without problems.
I agree about the constricting waistbands. I have only just started using compression socks starting last year. I find them good for long bus rides or train rides, too.
Many years ago I saw a show about surviving different scenarios. One was air plane crashes. Assuming the crash is survivable, they said never wear anything that can melt. In most crash situations, according to the program, a ball of flame will go through the aircraft the cabin lasting a few seconds. Man made fabrics tend to melt causing sever burns by remaining on the skin. Where jeans and heavy fabrics don't usually do anything but get singed. Never been in a crash or know anyone who has, but it made sense to me, so I wear lose fitting jeans.
Cotton won't burn like synthetics.
This quilter agrees!
I’m thinking in a crash situation, your clothes will be the least of your problems.
Synthetic fabrics will melt to your skin, cotton will not. When they take you to the hospital and try to get the syntehetic fabric off you, it takes the skin with it. The USAF used to use nylon flight jackets until they learned that lesson.
@@ernestdesimone2234Cotton ISN’T SYNTHETIC, IDIOT!!!
Wow, didn't know about some of suggestions. Thanks, Megan!
I always carry a hoodie in my backpack in all times of the year because of cold airports and planes. I also put the hood on with Bose headphone in just noise canceling mode so I can sleep. I do usually wear loos fitting pants that have zip-off legs.
I wear joggers with a drawstring waist and are gathered at the ankle. This keeps them off of the bathroom floor. The fabric doesn't wrinkle and has a zippered pocket.
Great idea!
btw .. Alison Obrien is such a beautiful name.
💯 joggers are my go to
Several companies now make merino wool joggers. Seems like a perfect flight pant!
I think this was your best video yet! Thank you!
I just typically wear jeans but these are not your regular cotton denim jeans.. their light and stretchable as the light denim is blended with a bit of lycra. So on a long flight they are quite comfortable. There are also business slacks where similarly the material stretches. Color wise I would choose a black or a very dark blue color jeans as I can use it with a collar shirt if I ever have to visit a place that has a dress code such as a casino or restaurant. Belts wise I use a travel belt which the buckle is made of tough plastic- thus avoiding the hassle of removing my belt (and putting it back on later) when going through the body scanner.
Thanks Meghan, I always love your tips.
You are so welcome!
I do wear jeans, but loose jeans. That usually requires i wear a belt, but I take it off before i go through security. I always have a light jacket, and wear a t-shirt or loose fitting polo. I find it best to not overthink it.
I also wear compression stockings because blood clots suck. A lot.
Love the reflection observation!
Some good tips, I especially like the track pants over your leggings idea and not wearing a bright top that will reflect in your IFE screen!
I'm flying for the first time in September and was so nervous about what to wear. Thank you for this!
Glad to hear it was helpful! Have a great trip, Erica!
@@PortableProfessional Thank you, Megan! I'm binge watching all of your videos in preparation.😂💜 I appreciate what you do!
You are so right about hair styles during flight. I had long thick hair and wore a ponytail from MO to AK. It messed up my upper back and I had to spend a good amount of money to have a massage therapist work on me. I've since cut my hair but I've learned my lesson about long flights--even if I want my hair out of my face, I'll find an alternative other than a ponytail. 😊
Some years ago one of my kids went abroad for the summer with a HUGE group (like 100 kids). They landed in NYC and of course EVERYONE came out before my son! I noticed that every single one of the teenage girls was wearing a single braid on the side. I thought it was so cute and started wearing my hair like that too for a while (until I cut it). Now I realize it’s a brilliant hairstyle for a plane ride! I’m not sure if those teenage girls knew it but your post reminded me! If I ever let my hair grow past my shoulders again (unlikely since I’m 60 now) I’ll do the same thing!!
I wear jeans all the time. When I fly jeans are the best idea. I have not mastered the art of Carry-on, the way u seemed to have. Jeans are also quite practical.
Hi Megan, thank you for honestly addressing the issue of plane bloating! Like you, I also enjoy low waist loose leggings and sometimes pair them with a loose fitting knit skirt over the top (not actually as daggy as it sounds). This gives me the option of removing the leggings either on the plane or on arrival if the destination weather is hot.
The problem for me is that I never debloat!
I have decided to not wear or pack jeans on a trip. Bulky to pack and slow to dry if you launder them or they get wet. Good layering tips for those long, cool, international flights.
Jeans are my favourite travel clothes. Comfy on the plane, multiple wears before washing
Thanks, Megan! What works fine day to day may not be good for long flights! 😁✈️🧳❤️
I typically wear yoga pants, compression socks, tank top (moisture-wicking), a safari shirt, a thin blanket that folds as a scarf, and a hoodie with interior pockets (that is where I put my passport, wallet, phone, etc. so I can automatically put all those typically loose items in the TSA bin when I put the hoodie in). Also, you can use sunglasses and a thin, non-slip mat to prop your phone in landscape orientation on the tray table during the flight.
Thanks for sharing! Happy travels!
Thank you for an interesting and informative video 👏👏👏
I wear layers including a hoodie and T-shirt. I’m hot before we takeoff but cold after. I always wear compression socks and move my feet around regularly. I put sunglasses and a sun hat in my carryon unless I’m going to Northern Europe in the winter where it’s too far north for to rise above the horizon.
Last year on a trip to Poland, Germany and Prague wore stretchy jeans, first time, and last time ever, OMG, the pain and suffering during that Loonnnnggggg flight, never ever again!
I wore tight jeans on a transatlantic. I then checked my hand luggage so I didn't even have something to change in to. One of the biggest flight mistake I have made. Now I wear a maxi dress with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath and a shawl.
I like to wear flowy palazzo pants. No constriction at the knees - important for lower extremities.
I switched to Merino Wool from Unbound Merino Wool. I started with The Womens Unbound Merino Wool Capsule Wardrobe. Their clothes are really comfortable and worth the money.
Thanks!
I always strive for natural materials on a flight. I once read an article where a woman had on a poly-blend top and well the pain caught fire, was able to land but a large section of the wiring had burned through the area where she was sitting... the top melted...
I always wear jeans. Never had a problem.
I agree, I usually wear relaxed jeans and it works great.
Me, too.
You can get many stretch jeans these days which are very comfortable.
Thanks, Megan. I agree with just about everything you mentioned. I have 2 purposes in traveling to Thailand each winter to my house. Everything that I take over is meant to be left at my house, including personal items and clothing that is difficult or expensive to buy in Thailand. For that reason, I do wear jeans and a hoodie on the way over. The hoodie to put the 2 cordless tool batteries into because of their weight. I’m already on blood thinner pills, so I don’t worry about blood clots on the plane. Coming back to the U.S., I wear shorts and loose fitting tee shirts, and use the airplane blanket if needed.
Some great tips and ideas, for sure. Thank you, Megan! Though I personally do prefer stretchy jeans when I travel: denim is a pretty sturdy fabric that won't easily catch or rip, and it won't show dust and dirt if you bruapsh up against the wheel of your suitcase or have to sit on concrete. And the cotton fabric goes through a relatively wide range of temperatures fairly well, keeping you reasonably warm in an autumn draft of sub--tropical heat.
Jeans aren’t stretchy without the addition of material that isn’t jeans
For jeans, go with The Perfect Jean, nice stretch to them.
I always wear jeans. Slim fit boot cut. And I'm in my 60s
I never wear anything tight, so it's my loosest cargo pants that have a normal waistband at the front, and elastised waistband at the back. A light wool sweater and light wool socks are necessities. I generally layer up which frees up space in my carry-on. Like you, I try to wear my bulkiest shoes for the flight.
I never wear anything synthetic on flights! Synthetics retain odours, don't breathe, and melt in fires.
I really wish all travelers would view your videos. Sensible, useful info.
Thanks so much! I appreciate that!
Not having flown since the onset of Covid I have been watching your UA-cam content avidly but encountered a problem that was very distressing on my flight to Alaska from UK.
We flew in to Denver on June 22nd to change flights onward to Alaska. If you were pre-booked with TSA you had over a dozen booths to process you. Unbooked 2 booths. So booking saves you a queue for over 2 hours duration.
We dropped our luggage in for the next flight and went to the securiy booths to access our outbound flight. This time there was only a single booth open for non prebooked travellers. After an hour without moving in this queue at all several US travellers destined to miss their flights posed a mini riot to the TSA representative who wandered by.
By this time several of the dozen booths for prebooked travellers were standing idle, having cleared their hall. Eventually 3 booths were opened for us non booked flyers and we then got through in 20 more minutes.
This made the combined time from arrival to getting to the gate for the connecting flight nearly three and a half hours.
Coments please, and maybe a cautionary video, if making money from prebooking is a prime objective.
Good ideas for wearing on airlines! For me, it's got to be washable, comfortable, layerable (sweats or pants).
And unless it's hot I like to take a long raincoat with me, it rolls up small, serves as a blanket with its flannel lining.
I generally don't fly in the winter, but when I have to, I'm bringing a long Alpaca wool, or even a fur coat. It's cold in that cabin in winter and that coat is a lifesaver!
No synthetics! They dont breathe!
Sounds good, Wanda!
I wear jeans on planes all the time. Maybe it's because I'm male that I've never had an issue. I also wear a belt with rodeo belt buckle and by time I've taken stuff to go through security I'm much lighter till I'll put it back on after clearing the scans. Occasionally I'm not scanned, but it almost confuses me when it does not happen, but bonus. Most male jeans have a bit of stretch around the waist. Cowboy boots and hat are my daily wear anywhere in the world, unless I'm wearing job specific clothing or safety gear. So these issues may be more female oriented.
My tip is to wear a shirt with a chest pocket (if I'm not wearing a jacket) - then I can put my passport and boarding pass there when appropriate and I know exactly where they are.
I do wear jeans when I'm traveling, but the pockets aren't big enough for my passport.
Great tips as always! Especially the sunglasses one at the end of the flight! Even us Hazel eyes people don't like the "light flash" when the overhead lights come back on.
Getting closer and closer to that 100k subs mark!!
Last year flight to Europe - wore linen pants, linen tops, and a linen jacket. Perfect!!
Very nice! Happy travels!
Jeans relaxed fit without belt. They have the best pockets and that’s handy.
I wear jeans even for long flights look good and comfy with a nice cotton top and tennis shoes!
I like talking to other passengers if they are willing to talk you learn a lot
I usually wear a pair of shorts with pockets that I keep my important stuff in with a pair of sweat pants over my shorts to protect my important items.. Also always go on the plane with a bottle of water. I’ve been on a plane that was so hot it took a half hour in the air before it cooled down. I’ve also been on a plane for 45 minutes on the tarmac and went back to the gate.
I've enjoyed your past vedios, as well as this one. I've never considered the very cloths I've chosen to wear during my flight. As a man, I picked up a great deal of pointers from your clothing tips. With that said, would you consider exploring and elaborate a bit more on the male clothing options during our flight/s. "Thanks" for sharing!
This was one of my favorite videos of your, practical😊
Awesome! Thank you!
I always dress for comfort. I do use a belt, but I use pants that have stretch in them. I keep on t shirts. I also use a travel vest with lots of zippered pockets. Anything that would be in my pockets goes in that instead. Keys. Wallet. Cell phone. Chargers and cables. iPod. Tickets. Passport.
I'm not sure if I should wear a hoodie or a warm woolen sweater on my next flight.
Recently went through the body scanners at KSA, wearing jeans and had to take my belt off, then I have to raise my arms and my jeans started to slip down and the guy had a go at me about it! Tracky dacks from now on.
Great video, Megan 😊
I never knew about the reflective white t-shirt info - interesting 🤔
I leave some space in my carry-on and/or personal bags and I wear light layers that are soft & comfy and can be removed if need be 👍
You're absolutely right about the hair styling info!
Thanks, Megan 🇨🇦
Thanks, Marcelle! Glad you liked it!
Thanks dear for the info 👏👏👏
Thanks for this information .its of great help
My pleasure, Susan!
Never been to a long haul flight yet but my fave airplane outfit usually is comfy dresses and comfy shoes.Denim jacket or a sweater as well.
Sounds nice! Happy travels!
@@PortableProfessional thanks.Stay safe.
Hi Megan, thanks so much for these videos. Helps a lot! Do you have any advice for people like me with chronic migraines? I get headaches from everything from cold weather, bright lights, wet hair, pressure changes, high carb intake etc. I was actually wondering whether to get sunglasses for my trip just before watching this, since bright lights ( like those in airports) do bother me A Lot , you made up my mind! Thanks!
As a fellow migraine sufferer, I’d suggest also earplugs, an eye mask, and a book, the latter to discourage chatty seat-mates. Creating a pocket of quiet, dark, restful space may help. And lots of water; dehydration is a common migraine trigger.
I have a uniform of compression socks, capris, a t shirt, and a zip front sweater or sweatshirt with a hood and whichever of my traveling pair of shoes is heaviest. I’ve done sweats to only die from heat at arrival or shorts to freeze on the plane and do not think I’m really leggings material any more.
I'll typically go for lightweight pants, a tshirt, and a sports hoodie. I say sports hoodie because they are breathable and moisture wicking, both good for keeping comfortable on a long flight. Finally I use athletic socks and slip on sketcher shoes, I love these for the memory foam padding that keep my feet cozy, and the socks keep my feet dry. It's all about comfort and versatility when flying and navigating the airport ❤
Thank you for the tips. Love the puppy!
My pleasure, Frank!
I have a travel outfit, figured out what works for me years ago and now that’s what I wear. Loose joggers, compression socks, running shoes, T-shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve depending on on the season) with a zip up hoodie with pockets. I like the hoodie because I like to pull up the hood on my head and sick my hands in the pockets when I sleep.
That sounds like the perfect travel outfit! Happy travels, Magie!
If I saw that outfit I would assume you were either a homeless person or on your way to the gym.
@@kibbylollabee1259 Then it appears you lack an imagination.
Flying and dealing with airports is stressful enough. I’m with you, comfortable attire is the way to go.
Always go with non flammable clothing. And the more of your skin you cover the less chance of burning if the unimaginable happens. Shoes on for takeoff and landing too.
Hi Megan. Thanks for these. Is the Merina wool only good for cold weather? Thanks
Yes i wear jeans from UK to Thailand all the time, the only problem is the heat when you arrive in far east but no problems on plane.
waaaa, i opened YT app and this is on the first top part. this was my next search😮❤
Hope it was helpful! Happy travels!
I've traveled to Thailand 4 times in jeans and a nice loose top and have no problem in long flight. On my way back was leggings and a light jacket that i layer over a top or just the light jacket itself. As far as travel shoes my first thee trips, wish i knew not to wear anything that slowed down security check at the gate. Now I pack easy slip-on/off shoes when traveling. Easy to slip on after security check and grab my carry-on and go without holding up the line.
I've historically worn slides, shorts and a sweatshirt when traveling domestically in the US.
I always wear jeans and have NEVER had a problem!!!
I did wear jeans a few times. My last long haul I wore loose casual leggings.
When I fly, which is often, I wear pajamas, socks and a bathrobe along with a pair of those memory foam house shoes. And yes, the pajamas are worn commando, so nothing bunching up on me. I get a lot of strange looks, except on Japan airlines, but I have never been refused to fly.
Great vid!
Thank you so much, Aaron!
I always wear jeans and never had a problem. I worn them from Miami to Spain and I was fine. 😊😊😊
A few years ago I bought a pair of loose-fitting long pants at REI that has zippers at the knee level. I can keep the bottom half of each pant legs in my backpack and quickly convert to longer pants if needed. Comes in handy when traveling between warm and cold climate destinations.
Love those pants.but never been able to quickly put them back together😂
I always wear Stretchy and comfortable jeans .
Great video, can I suggest you to a travel/airport vlog, would be appreciated, thanks and have a great day!
Thanks for the idea!
@@PortableProfessional
Plastic/ non metallic zip on hoodie is probably a good idea too
I wear garterized jeans during flights.. they are comfortable and are practical for bathroom necessities
Thanks Megan❤ Hi Ollie 🐕
I always prefer wearing a waist pouch because it easier meets the one grab and go item.rule.
I wear compression leggings (medical reasons) a over sized nice tshirt and a open front cardigan and then finish it off with my adidas with elastic laces!!!!
Happy travels, Leslie!
IDK for me if it's a long haul flight and warm(er) out I might do the wind pants and a T-shirt. If it's winter or a shorter flight then just regular clothes (but looser fitting jeans). I do generally try to wear a t-shirt (and then a sweat shirt if it's cooler out) so I can be comfortable while flying, yet have options (the sweatshirt) if it's cold. I honestly don't dress up (although if I'm flying for a day meeting and not staying overnight, then I might wear dress pants and collared shirt even if I have to wear a "dress" shirt (which I will change into later when I get there). But those types of trips are more rare as I'm usually flying for personal reasons (vacations, etc). I however don't ever wear shorts on flights, even though it's probably not necessarily frowned upon. Most if not all airplanes are air conditioned anyway so pants are usually fine, plus if you wear shorts you either have to bring sweat pants along just in case, or suffer if the plane ends up being too cold.
For the belt issue I either pack it in my carry-on or checked bag since you have to take them off, and if I'm wearing "sport/wind" pants then I don't need a belt anyway (it's mainly for if I'm wearing jeans or dress clothes which I don't wear when actually flying anyway).
I always put on well fitting jeans on a flight, meaning not the tight fitting one and always comfortable (not baggy) blouses and jackets. Also take care what I eat and no alcohol at all.
Last year on my long haul flight to Geneva, I wore linen pants which were great & kept me super comfortable & cool but the drawback was, that when I went in to the lav, I had to pull them up to my knees to prevent them from touching the floor, so imagine pulling your pants both up AND down at the same time to use the bathroom. 😆 So, this year, for that same flight, I'll be wearing my joggers which have a drawstring waistband & are zippered at the ankles (which I'll have unzipped once I get settled) & loosen during wear so I don't have to do that bathroom dance again. My liquids bag always has a Tide pen & a small downy wrinkle release bottle in it as well.
We all learn from our experiences! Happy travels, Jennifer!
@@PortableProfessional Right? I used to wear a lower waistband pair of leggings with side pockets, but they got bulky over my compression socks & I always had to find layers that covered my butt. 😂 I got tired of that & went with my loose linen pants & realized my mistake in the bathrooms. This is how we learn. 😄
I have a pair of loose fitting linen pants that I like to wear in the summer. But they wrinkle like there is no tommorrow, and yes, they do end up in a pool on the floor when going to the bathroom. So indeed a no-go for traveling.
I like to wear sweatpants and hoodies when I fly. For me it's a lot more comfortable and a lot less restrictive.
