I almost made comment about the lack of Pantera on one video, then this popped up. New subscriber here. Lookin forward to your content man
On driven, at the high pitched wahhhh note, pull the whammy the wrong way away from the body to get the right sound.
Personally I think all pantera riffs are godly
Also the drums, bass, and vocals. Theres a reason this shit has never fully been imitated
Jacob Wilson has a point. there is some awesome riffery on reinventing and trendkill. this love though??underrated? it was the only song that really got mtv love back way when.. yeah I'm old like that. good video. there's a bit of gnarl in your playing and it's badass!
amen \m/
Is not that, the riffs are heavy, they aren't godly because every riff is easy to play and very simple
I wonder if its because dime was a god 🤔🤔🤔
Dimebag was the perfect mix of technical and tasteful guitar playing. So many insanely talented guitarists get carried away and just shred constantly or get too overly technical and forget to play along with the groove.
Nathan Baca In my mind that’s what made Dimebag one of the best ever. He’s was capable of playing some technical stuff without losing focus on the groove. This is true of a lot of his solos too. He could shred with the best if them if wanted to but if it didn’t make sense then he kept it simple.
Dimebag WAS the groove B)
Dimebag was the grooviest of us all
Agreed!! So true!
Mustaines Solos are a perfect example of that. But his riffs, as intricate as they may be, are still amazing.
Finally someone who appreciates The Sleep with me. I'm the kind of Pantera fan who is going to listen to Strengh beyond strengh, Hellbound, Medicine man, Psycho holiday, 10's, Floods, Message in blood etc.
Well, Floods is not underrated at all.
zaakknight 10's is so fucking underrated. Phil's vocals are brilliant in that song
The sleep is in my top 5 fav Pantera songs
Oddman it kinda is. Solo gets lots of credit but i feel phils vocals dont
Aris Koumbanakis and THAT solo, don't forget that fucking beautiful solo
The Sleep is pure gold.
The guitar solo is bliss
Its my favorite song of pantera, i open the video thinking in this music
Yeah man, Is My favorite pantera song
Dimebags best solo from all his songs hands down!!
My ears have never heard a bad second of Pantera. They're the only Metal band I still listen to in my old age. RIP Abbott Brothers
Same here
Only song I don't like is good friends and a bottle of pills
@@chriscornell8810 I don't think they did it as a serious song, I like the weirdness of it, sort of like GNR throwaway track, "My World".
@@kevincampbell5785 that doesn't exactly make it a good song though
@@chriscornell8810 I liked it when I was 17 and trying to f everyone's girl. Once I grew up, it only makes me smile at my stupid younger self.
The riff of Drag the Waters is delicious
I love drag the waters!
Fuck yes.
It's literally just a reworked version of the main riff from Walk. I've always thought it was the weakest song on the album
@@ethann9433 true
@@claucastaneda7894 its nasty
We can recognize a Dimebag Darrel riff among others, that's why he was great
Its that tone + groove. No one has ever had a similar tone, and no one has ever come close to dimebags ability to shred like no other while similtaniously playing the grooviest shit ever
True, he’s a n auteur of a musician. By no means am I comparing them but another I can think of is Wes Borland.
"The underground in America" has definitely of the best riffs on the trendkiller album.
Marty Thamse Ikr, noone ever mentions this track
This is one of my most favorite tracks of Pantera. I even jammed a new song with very similar riff, check that out:
ua-cam.com/video/m46NiAzqyyQ/v-deo.html
Every single song on that album is absolutley amazing
Definetely!, my favorite song of Pantera!
Right? That was my favorite track on an album full of favorite Pantera songs! (And it was a tough choice between that and “Floods”!)
That This Love riff is absolutely underrated, it’s one of the best sounding riffs of all time, it’s just underrated because it’s only used once in the song. It should be a main riff really.
it is the main riff in the Cowboys from Hell demo session song "The Will To Survive"!
He played the riff wrong at the start though if you listen to the song and then that you can clearly tell the beginning is wrong
TheFriffin that’s really cool!
But It is used in Doom soundtrack.
Dude honestly the bridge riff to Slaughterred is by far my favorite
Why doesn't anyone ever do the end of "25 Years"?! Best breakdown ever.
The whole Far Beyond Driven is really underrated, excluding of course, I'm Broken and 5 Minutes.
HeavyRaiden Its my favorite album of all time. Most people go with "Vulgar". Far Beyond Driven is so fucking dark and brutal.
Trendkiller WE'RE FUCKIN YA BACK! WE'RE FUCKIN YA BACK!
The GreyJedi2112 Exactly
The best breakdown for me is Thrones Of Rejection, it kicks literal ass
0:00 The Sleep
0:52 By Demons Be Driven
1:40 Slaughtered
2:04 The Art of Shredding
3:07 This Love
4:00 Drag the Waters
4:18 Regular People (Conceit)
4:50 You've Got to Belong to It
5:13 Suicide Note Pt 2
6:04 Avoid the Light
7:43 Living Through Me (Hell's Wrath
Dude, the groove on Regular People is ridiculous. One of my favorites. (And the breakdowns on This Love)
Daniel Drylie regular people is one of my favorite pantera songs ever.
Regular People is the song that made me absolutely hooked as a 13 year old kid. The breakdown on This Love is a 100% dDimebag style riff and I play it everytime I pick up the guitar.
you ain’t got the balls son
Song never gets old
I was looking for an answer like this. Totally agree
The riff on shedding skin when the song kicks in towards the end. Ultimate .
So good, ITS NEEDLE RUST
The first time I heard that song I thought it sounded like it could be Frankensteins theme song
The first 2 versus of Shedding Skin, I also think it's Phil's best vocals.. "I was betrayed.." If you are going to sum up Pantera in one track, Shedding might be my choice.
Such an underrated song. Definitely my favorite song by them.
top Pantera underrated riffs: all of them in Reinventing the Steel
My favorite album ! What is my name and god damn electric on reply!!!! \m/
@@irishstunter1715 absolutely, the riff right after phil says "the changing that's goddamn electric will focus the mind's eye" is godly
yesterday don’t mean shit
ben eadie I was just about to type this... that chorus riff is the most underrated Pantera riff in my opinion
Yesterday don't mean shit and It makes them disappear have two of the best pantera riffs.
Slaughtered. Arguably Panteras heaviest song🤘🤘
That and suicide note pt.ii
Southern Trendkill was heaviest
How about RISE?
It’s definitely got Phil’s lowest growls and vocals. Dimes guitar is the arguable point. But as far as vocals go, this is definitely their heaviest song
Trendkill and Suicide note 2 are way heavier
No good (attack the radical) is a super underrated song....
Fuck yeah it is , so underrated it didn't make this list , its got my favorite solo on the vulgar album and the verse riff fuvking crushes
For real, the monstrous guitar riffage after “since evolution we’ve been killing each other I think that man should have it down to a science” is just impossible not to headbang to
Like "rise" ...
"YOUR NO GOOD!!" hahahahaha nostalgia!
@@trendkill3333 hell yeah!
Was really hoping to Medicine Man on this video but still an awesome video dude!
Me too....my favorite song ever
Whaaaaaaaat know foxy was a pantera fan but didn't expect him to be here lol
Lmao of course mane
@@FoxyGrandpa1 yeah pretty sure you remember me lol talked about vinnie death on your stream and talked about certain songs we like, especially medicine man
Yeah John of course haha
NO MORE HEAD TRIPS!!!
(Earth-shattering riff ensues)
Brendan Hayward PUNK!
Brendan Hayward YOU KEEP THIS LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU KEEP THIS LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU KEEP THIS LOOOOOVE!
so glad someone finally mentions Living Through Me! That chorus riff is absolutely 11/10
TheFriffin all the riffs are awesome just learned them today
Song is brutal as fuck!!!!
Painted face! Olive drab!
Pantera in general is kinda underrated considering how much of their stuff is overlooked
Hard lines, sunken cheeks🎤
Personally, I never thought any of them were underrated and I been a fan since ‘87
rip Vinnie and dimebag
Avoid the light is probably our favorite pantera song
Eddie Brock do you always comment like you're venom and eddie brock?
Lmao
Yes!!
lol
@@loganmiller1149 obviously
1st riff from middle section of primal concrete sledge is the best riff ever written
Илья Зубков this is a fact
aaaaaaaah i do not know about that, it is amazing but that this love riff in this video has always been one of my most favorites too, the primal concrete sledge riff that i know you are talking about and the this love riff i like them equally really
Fuck yeah that’s my gamer tag on Xbox and no one gets it. Primal is perfect 👌🏼
“Living Through Me (Hell’s Wrath)” in my honest opinion is the better of the songs they’ve put together. Honestly The Great Southern Trendkill is probably my favorite album I’d say. Way underrated.
Dude that was sooooooo refreshing. You just killed it. Killer sound and riffing. Hail Dimebag, he lives on in your guitar for sure !!!
Man Dimes taste and ear for what sounds good is just amazing. Such chunkiness and flavor. What a creative monster he was. A lot of people write riffs but they all sound the same or boring. He was quite tasteful and wrote some badass tunes. People always say dune was overrated but at 16 he would run circles around most players. He could have literally played any style he wanted bud chose badass groovy style. His riffs are easy they say, if so easy then why didn't anyone else think of them. Dime is in fact an absolute legend and was one of the most influential metal axeman of all time. RIP
0:50
*DARKNESS*
*IMPRISONING ME*
*ALL THAT I SEE*
*ABSOLUTE HORROR*
It did sound a tad like One lol
Nice one
Some of my favorites are Heresy, Hollow, Use My 3rd Arm, Sandblasted Skin. I love em all but then I would basically just be writing down all of the tracks in order lol. Excellent video!
The sleep has to be one of the best solos ever I heard in my life.
Always bringing the first riff with power ! Nice to see you again ! Keep going the awesome works !
Great vid my friend. Nice to see some good riffs that people seem to overlook in top 10's
If your a Pantera fan the Sleep is definitely not underrated. In fact beloved and Slaughtered come on bro, nothing on this list is underrated. Long live Dime and Pantera 🤘❤
No Pantera songs are underrated I think. They are all so good that you must love them all if your a Pantera fan
i think in terms of more mainstream audience, literally every song except walk, and maybe cowboys from hell, are all underrated as fuck
ben eadie theyre still legendary songs though 🤘
Found the gatekeeper.
That "This Love" riff if so fucking baddass!
Regular people has always been my fave Pantera song. The outro riff of Hollow is gorgeous too. That groove on By Demons always reminds me of a snake slithering it's way through the grass or something, absolutely beautiful.
Slaughtered is one of my favorite Pantera songs. Great vid man
I personally absolutely love that middle-section riff in Strenght beyond strenght, so simple, but so powerful
This just makes me smile so big, Dime really was one of a kind and so super talented. Thanks for the memories, man what a riff artist he was... Cant really label Pantera, it was Southern, Thrash, Groove Metal, and sometimes melodic... All at the same time.
Dude, you blistered it!! Mui impressive bro. my compliments. One of the best Pantera presentations for sure. in my top 10. And that's crazy good. Great chops man, and great emulation of one of the greatest metal masters ever. Thanks.
Man love all the videos keep up the good work
I guess Hollow and Becoming deserve a place on this list as well, don't you think?
zaakknight they aren't underrated though.
@@danclyrogaming85 only to the metal community they're not
@@Brendan656 in that case, every metal somg except for enter sandman and ttfatf is underrated
@@calebheney302 you mean to to tell me a lot of mainstream ass ppl these days even know of pantera? Lol not
@@Brendan656 Lol, actually yeah, quite a lot of kids have never heard of pantera. Believe it or bot i introduced a whole shit ton of kids to bands, EVEN VAN HALEN, at school last year. Unfortunately its not popular in todays society, so it goes by overlooked.
I really need to hear someone acknowledge how badass The Underground in America is from them. A lot of their songs get me going, but that one especially is so goddamn heavy and awesome
And I totally understand how much it's tuning is a bitch, both those riffs are badass
So many amazing riffs... Great playing man!
Ayyy, starting it off with The Sleep! Amazing job as always man
Pantera really are a great band. Thanks for making this video.
Suicide note part 2 replaced coffee for me in the morning
Awesome, you nailed it! The power off the riff compels me.
Watching you play all my favorite riffs from many bands has inspired me to play some guitar of my own. Thanks for the motivation to keep playing. I would like to see a jinjer video tho. Keep up the great work!
Intro to the art of shred is on a whole different level
Throes of Rejection is my absolute favorite song to play on drums. The effect Dime used at the end is just absolutely filthy in the most glorious way
You definitely hit quite a few of my personal favorite riffs...Nice job!
Hell yeah dude. Some of my faves. Nice job!
Come on,
IMMORTALLY INSANE anyone?
Yes, Living Through Me is best riff ever. And for people who tells that there is no underrated riff done by Pantera - really? They are all underrated. If they weren't, Pantera would be more popular than Metallica - even today.
Living through me is such a great underrated riff💯💯🔥🔥🔥
they weren't underated, Metallica was just really big
The sound of the squeals sound spot on, good job
well done! almost all trying play more popular Dime riffs, but Slaughtered riff u did is awesome as sounds like original and so all other as well, great job
Every single riff of pantera is a masterpiece
Honestly some of the greatest riffs ever written. My how we miss you Dimebag!!! R.I.P.

SLAUGHTERED!! DO SIN!! favorite tune off far beyond driven!
I listen to these all the time I never knew they were considered underrated
MY GUY!!! I have been humming The Sleep for the last week at work and couldn't remember for the life of me what it was called. Shit was stuck in my head so hard. Cheers!
Yeees! Glad to see Drag the waters get some love! Definitely one of my all time favorite riffs!
Oh god finally! Someone actually knows The Sleep!
i think most people know it, they just don't appreciate it
EPIC!! Dime would be proud 🤙
amazing playing man
Anyone that can play "The Sleep" properly is a legend imo
"The art of shredding" killed me !!!
R.I.P. Dime. We miss you. Thank you for this awesome video!
Great selection!
You forgot Message In Blood! Also am I the only one that thought he used a slide for You’ve Got To Belong To It?
DO GOJIRA PLEASE
Very impressed with the song choices they are some of the best but the most overlooked
Enjoyed that.......thanks for posting
Pantera is one of the reasons I started playing guitar.
Alice in chains please!!!!!! Greetings from brazil💪👍👍👏👏👏🇧🇷
I came here to put the same comment as you, rock on duuuude !
We die young, dam the river and it ain't like that
Their new stuff got alot of underated riffs. Phantom Limb for example
Yes!! Jerry and Dime are some of my main idols when it comes to the heavy stuff. PANTERA AND AIC RULE!!
Hell yeah
Great selection. I'd add the breakdown riff from Use My Third Arm / Piss. It's probably my fav Pantera riff.
Awesome vid man. Would you be willing to do a quick instructional or tab out that main/verse riff to slaughtered...I can never nail that first half weird slide thing. There’s so much gain on the recording I can’t tell what he’s doing. Keep up the good work!
Dime's riffs give you feels like you are king.,its always gave me good feelings and inner power 🔋🔋,pantera is not like other frustrating, depressing metal band(SORRY4'OTHERBAND),PANTERA is a pure meaning of metal band 😍😍
Nailed it! Nice job!
ahhhh finallllyyyy your videos are gold man
The Sleep is one of my Pantera's Favorite Songs
By Demons be driven sounds like One of Metallica (the Riff)
No pantera riffs are underrated I love every riff in this video
Always been a big fan of Living Through Me! The bluesy chorus just gets me.
Wow man! You’ve outdone yourself fantastic job
Постоянно слушаю отличное исполнение классных мелодий.
I think Clash With Reality has a very good riff and it is very underrated.
so cool man ! love you're video, can you make a video set up ?
Yes finally some credit for that regular people riff! So catchy and heavy at the same time 🤟
A top 10 Billy Talent riffs would be awesome :) And I'm still waiting for Alter Bridge ahah. Keep up the good work brother
Edit : The "This Love" riff is fucking banger
Revolution is my Name \m/
Favorite song! The drums, the riffs, the lyrics and can't forget that cow bell😍🤘
No,it's Wilander.
*lenny face*
The intro in The Art Of Shredding is one of the best things that i ever heard
Great tone!
Great song choices man. But I can see you have difficulty perfecting them, the same with me. Pantera's riffs are hard to master! Dimebag Darryl was a insanely unique guitarist.
Dimebag was the best 🤘🎸
