Nice machine. They set it rich for the breaking in/running in period of the new engine. I break in/run in a new 2 stroke engine for a full year before I run at full power. I have had and used my trimmer for seventeen years and still runs like new.

Received before due date which was great. Assembly of product was easy with simple to follow instructions. Started on 2nd pull and has continued to do so each time. I use this strimmer almost everyday on both light and more heavy / thicker grass and bushes, have not had a problem so far. Unlike more expensive manufactured strimmers I have previously owned. Great value for money and would definitely recommend.

Fwiw- After wearing 2 out in 4yrs I dumped my Shindaiwa's speed feed for a Husqvarna T35 head.
A T35 thats been on my Husq 20yrs & it still works like new. Tough heads easy to load!
With almost 3 acres here & a large thicket/woods out back Im considering one of these suckers myself for the hedge trimmer. Good vid, thanks!

Am jealous. Is lawn mowing season for you already. Can't wait to see how it holds up under heavy use. Maybe you struck gold twice and it's as durable as the 45cc Chinese chainsaw.

The one you got is much heaver than the one I bought, I have the same brand and got mine from Home Depot. You got a good deal. I wish I had saw your video first. Mine does not have any grease fittings. Mine has a Number on the back MFT 26. You got a deal. It did start right up. The engine is very heavy.

A little googling and I came across the Liam Sherwood 5 in 1 same exact thing as this. It does come with an Oregon chain and branded Liam. They sell that brand on Amazon UK and not available for shipping here to the U.S. I'd be willing to bet this the company that makes it for them but sells it cheaper unbranded which is the case for a lot of stuff we buy. It's amazing how many things we buy that are branded that we think are better quality because it's branded or "made to US standards" It's still made in China! Great video sir!

im replacing a Stihl weedeater with this model, and i must say THIS is the best value in weedeaters. it is built SO well, and in some ways far better than my old stihl. great video btw man! you did a wonderful job showing all the details, and i REALLY love how you answered my question about the speedfeed 450! the 450 would not fit on the stihl without heavy modification, so i am SUPER happy i can now use the 450 head!! i absolutely love this tool and cannot recommend it enough.

    • @incubrian

@@cmizer9 I had an Fs45! this orange one totally smokes it 10 ways to sunday. while the 45 was definitely a beast, this is even more powerful, which as many say, comes at the price of being heavy. BUT i prefer the extra weight for both the sturdy build quality and even the upper body exercise haha- its a big heavy engine, but thats what you get when you want a quality motor (plus the fuel tank is huge). i have used this new trimmer a LOT so far this season, and its been easy to start and the straight shaft is SO much better than the curved on on the stihl. furthermore, the size and weight work better since im 6'2" and dont need to bend over slightly like the old stihl- much better posture. and best of all, as this guy shows in the vid, since its a straight shaft w gearbox, you can just EASILY add the speedfeed 450 head to it! the fs45 was totally incompatible with the speedfeed or any other variant- so you had to use a proprietary stihl head no matter what. i cannot recommend this orange trimmer enough!

The rubber things are gaiters to go over your shins and ankles and boot tops. No zerk on the trimmer head so you don't blow out the seals. You use a squeeze bottle to add low viscosity grease.

I Just bought a 42.7 cc brush cutter under the coocheer name. Had a tough time getting it started out of the box but learned about the reverse choke from your video. The engines aren't that bad usually, just take more maintenance than you'd like. Also the choke is upside down. On and off are incorrectly labeled on these machines pretty often.

The engines on these are sound, it's more the attachments I've had trouble with.
To start off the gears in the polesaw's gearbox stripped after the blade snagged a knot in a branch. That says something about the quality of those gears given it's only a 25cc engine.
Then the clamp bolt for the attachment quick release snapped, even though I was only tightening it with a screwdriver.
I had to remove that quick release mechanism because the clutch basket seized after sitting for 2 months.
      Good engine, shit everything else.

The engine on mine was advertised as 52 cc. I haven't had anything break on it other than fuel lines and the handle to change the attachment out. I've been pretty happy with mine. The string trimmer is what I used the most. It starts on the second pull cold, religiously. 1 quick pull warm and it fires right up.

I bough the same one under the brand name of "Denzel"!
Its realy is a very well engineered trimmer/cutter.
But potential buyers be warned!!! This thing is heavy as hell! With fuel and everything is probably over 10kg! That's Stihl 880 teritory just for comparison!! My hands are still thingling(and its midnight now),after a few hours of sawing around my garden today!
    You have been warned!
For occasional cut or trim the hedge it will be ok probably. But if you look for more than hour or two work... than this wouldnt cut it!(pun intended) 😁

However, a major glitch is the pull starter mechanism...on the 3rd start, the pull starter jammed in the extended position...chord won't retract...took the mechanism off the machine and tried to loosen the Phillips screw that holds it onto the housing...figured that would possibly loosen up the tension on the recoil spring...the screw won't budge...don't want to force the screw...anyone had the same issue?

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

Also, when it comes to the oil-fuel mix, the ratio is clearly 1 to 40 (in the instruction manual and at the back of the engine itself). Can't wait to get this going!

I have a similar, says MT52. Does well, but take a look at carburetor from time to time, mine went loose after a few tanks of fuel. Check the bolts and tighten them if necessary. Also, as the winter passed, I had to change fuel tubes, original ones were like a plastic.

FYI I suspect you may have a third carb adjustment. There's probably a third screw in the center of the rotatory portion looking down at the top of the carb (inside the brass part). This is for idle mixture. Turn it until you get the highest idle speed, then 1/4-1/2 turns out, then set your idle speed with the other screw.

I agree the old Stihl trimmer, made from components manufactured in Germany, can last a very long time given proper maintenance. However, Stihl now acknowledges that the great majority of components used in the current generation of Stihl products, including trimmers, are acquired from "global sources". That usually means China/Asia.

Ok, i have to know, what brand it is and where you bought it. I have a 31 cc Craftsman that was my heavy hitter with the attachments. But is it compatible with click link/ expand it attachments. It sounds just like my Craftsman. Which still runs. But blew a head gasket after 15 years. What brand is it. As a semi pro gardener I am licking my chops to check this thing out for myself.

    • @philliplawerence5784
      @philliplawerence5784 5 років тому

Your Craftsman 31cc trimmer, either 2-cycle or 4-cycle, is actually a TroyBuilt, and uses the old TroyBuilt accessory attachment couplers. That makes the attachments not compatible with this machine.
For a gardener, this is a powerful heavy-duty brush cutter, and because it's so heavy it's not well-suited for light-duty tasks, such as walkway edging, small trimming jobs, cutting growth less than 12" tall, etc. But if you want to cut a road through heavy brush to where you need to trim, cut down small trees, trim 10 foot tall hedges, this is the machine to use.
These machines don't really have a brand. But the China makers will brand it anything you want, as long as you buy it.

I was disappointed, could not add comment on your 55 year old ash tree felling episode. You were right on could have used longer bar saw, and wedge cut out was little big. Ashes usually don't need wedging. But you had tricky fall, and direction achieved. Actually more interested in seeing video showing off the one or two best Ash trees you protected from EAB on your wild forested property.
You got anymore with main trunk still alive? Just consider $20 worth of drench mix applied this weekend similar to fertilizing tree. To help bring back functionally extinct species using protected scattered wild seed masting trees in the woods. Once fatal danger from "infestation level" populations inevitably passes locally after 10-12 years, treatment no longer required to keep tree alive.
Obviously option of treating your trees not to save money, as you fell and chunk out your own. But as a smart ash arborist proving to all those so called tree huggers and ecology conservationists, how so cheap & easy it was to reclaim life of iconic American Hardwood from killer Chinese bug hitching ride on crate of poorly manufactured goods.
