These two guys have known each other since they were young children. Lifelong brothers.
Both played in the yardbirds
@@freebee8221 Eric Clapton played with them as well. Imagine how big they would be if they got a good guitarist. /s
@@larrylinn8589 every band clapton is in becomes a legendary band. Cream, yardbirds, derek and the dominos. Clapton is the only man who has been inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame 3 times
@@freebee8221 I was being sarcastic.
You know you've done something right in life when you look over your shoulder & Jimmy Page is playing rhythm guitar for your lead solo.
AMEN!
so much flat-out truth in that sentiment... well said..
rightfully so.
Jeff Beck is the best 🎸🎵🎶
in 1966 Page did, in fact he played bass first.
2 legends, friends who've both equally affected the world of music and the guitar in ways that won't soon be forgotten, thank you Jeff and Jimmy for all you've given us!!
The love and respect he shows Jimmy - we lost something that comes along once a generation
Goes both ways! ❤
I've always been brought to tears at the choice of songs Jeff chose to play at his induction. The poignancy is flooring.Long Live Jeff & Jimmy!!!!!!
A lot of people are making comments about Tal being lucky to be onstage with Jeff & Jimmy. No one mentions the fact that Vinnie Colaiuta is arguably one of the top 3 drummers at this time. For a bassist, that is the biggest thrill.
Plus the fact she’s pretty fucking good herself and she was the one who suggested doing immigrant song iirc
@@chrisg6863 Yes she's quite good but since Jimmy Page is onstage I can't help think of how versatile John Paul Jones was -- iirc there's a bit of him playing mandolin you can probably find if you search YT
There is no amount of luck there that girl is AWESOME.
She earned her right to be on that company. And she seems to be having to much fun.
Kinda young...kinda wild
She's a genius. So many great musicians seem to recognise it. Amazing tribute to her talent.
After 45 years being a Jeff Beck absolute fan, I am still amazed by his awesome energy and talent. Simply a freaking beast. Love U Jeff
Jeff Beck makes me glad I'm a drummer and not a guitar player, because if I were a guitar player and heard this, I'd figure why even try to play? What really impresses me is the truth of what Jimmy Page said in his introduction: that Beck just keeps getting better and better. So many performers have they heyday and then coast or, worst of all, go on revival tours of state fairs where they show just how old they are. But Jeff Beck has never stopped pushing himself and the guitar to places they've never been. What a privilege to have lived alongside him.
Can't really compare "greats"and if so no one can compare with Beck ; Period ! !
Right On Mark !....Jeff DOES keep going and growing ! His body of work is quite extraordinary and all of us have reaped the benefits of his expertise. Dana
One of his finest legacies is proving you can continue to improve with age. Jeff has set an unbelievably high bar. So many great guitarist find their style and sort live there. Jeff keeps on experimenting, improving, experimenting and improving. He's one of a kind.
And Page, exceptional though he is, created only one quarter of one of the best ever bands in the world. Beck became solo and carved out an exceptional niche. I was a little sad to see only Page inducting him when Beck has played with so many awesome other musicians though. Page has awesome riffing while Beck cuts, slices and dices the cheese with awesome clarity and technique.
Mark Cherrington
Look who's playing bass for the man! Hippie cool Tal. Man it sucks that Jeff passed away. He was a master of masters at guitar. He will be missed so much.
Every man, woman and child who ever picked up a guitar just wished we would be able to play half as good as Jeff. The sounds he would squeeze out of his Stratocaster were unbelievable and mind blowing, he was a guitarists guitar player just amazing.
With Vinne and Jason Rebello. I have seen an unhealthy amount of videos of these four the last couple of weeks.
@@1979bobhd Do you know what's strange? Not just a strat! I've seen him playing a Les Paul and he still sounds different. lol
@1979bobhd I read an interview where David Gilmour said that the best guitarist he knew was Jeff Beck
@@mariececile3973 ya and the funny thing is that Beck never looked himself as being the best. I've seen him claim that others were better than him, Jeff was the innovator of innovators. He developed ways to get sounds out of his instrument that no one else can replicate. He was so awesome man. Everybody loved his style and the music that he created.
Page is a class act. He wrote some pretty good stuff himself yet honors his brother humbly and respectfully. You go boy --
Page wrote Becks Bolero
Jeff Beck might argue with you on that point, he and Page have argued over it over it for years.
”Pretty good stuff” lol
Beck and Page great mates all these years.
Page stole a lot of good stuff. I never really noticed that actually wrote anything. Even this is based on Ravel's Bolero.
Two legends of rock and roll..
Je oller, umso besser!
Absolutelly incredible guitarist, forever was and forever will be. RIP legend.
Jeff Becks guitar playing can bring a man to tears, that is how great he really is
Saw him last night at Austin City Limits Theater (Moody Theater) in Austin, TX Awesome show!!
Yes,but not like Carlos Santana can!
Isn’t it his tone, mostly? I know it’s been talked about- Springsteen has talked about trying so hard as a teen to figure out what Beck was doing to get it. Of course, the break in Candy’s Room owes much to Heart Full of Soul
Bruce Pedersen you’re an idiot Seriously
@Bruce Pederson--you can't be serious. Santana spent his entire life trying to figure out how to achieve the tone of greats like Peter Green and Jeff Beck. He never got it. He's not fit to tune their guitars. Go away, you troll.
The genius of his playing, closely linked to his highly individual technique, which he combined with his incredible creativity and his sensitive feeling for dynamics and his colorful intonation make Jeff Beck the immortal inspirer for music and everyone who loves music. That is the expression of the eternal soul, which is immortal one with the world spirit.
These greats make ir look so effortless. Rest in Peace Jeff Beck!
Jeff Beck has been one of the finest guitarists for over 50 years. He turns 71 today June 24. he is in amazing shape and still plays better than ever. One of my heroes got to see him play live with Rod Stewart as his lead singer in the 60;s and another time too.
yy
+Tara “Tara Tarot” Greene I saw Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart at the local dancehall in1967 supporting the Equals, or were the Equals supporting Jeff Beck, I forget. Anyway, when the Equals finished playing, most people headed off to the bar More fool them !
and " without "question when Rod was at his best ! Everthing after the faces was a sell0ut ! !
I only saw him once, with Jan Hammer.. I was too young to appreciate him then, but I sure do now!
Rocked with Beck and Stewart 68 or 69 New Port Rhode Island. Was heavy into British Blues. Still makes me fire up.
RIP Jeff; you're being rediscovered non-stop around the World tonight.
Christine, Jeff; away's in three's. Who's next?
There throughout my entire life. He brought joy. Vale Jeff.
#JeffBeck
I was never really into Jeff Beck...but this dude is an amazing guitarist...like so good...style all of his own
It's never too late too appreciate JB because he always continues to change and explore the instrument.
ridiculous...i was seriously in awe
blk stone Check out some of his early songs such as Ice Cream Cakes and the Truth album. Beck has a knack of getting these really bizarre sounds out of his guitar, sometimes it seems like he's channeling some sort of alien being. Fantastic shit!
You need to watch the doc on him and you’ll understand why he’s a rock guitarist god.
I am the same.
I am in my sixties now and I don't recall ever hearing of Jeff Beck, but he sure is good at what he does.
Love it, what else can I say, great drums, great bass, great guitar, and the backup guitarist isn't bad either haha
Yeah, that guy's going places! :)
Ripping the 12 string too!
What a fantastic performance . R.I.P. Jeff, one of the best.
Jeff jams with Jimmy Page and Tal Wilkenfeld without even rehearsing, and we get this? Beyond cool plus he’s a car guy.
How do you know thatchy did not rehearse?
@@alexkx8599 Because rhey told us so in the "Still on the Run"-biography video, that was issued in 2018. They rehearsed Beck's Bolero at the soundcheck, bur Immigrant song was a sudden idea on the way to the stage.
They probably rehearsed this for a month
Carlos Lozada Didn’t you read Vibeke Schneidermann’s comment above yours?
Cory Britton you get the award for the stupidest comment today on UA-cam! Congratulations!! We will call your special award The No Shit Sherlock Mark Of Excellence
Want to know when you TRULY are a legendary badass? When Jimmy fucking Page comes out to play RHYTHM for you, while you a literally singing Robert Plants soaring vocals on your goddamn guitar! Pretty much defines the word "Badass"
Said it all! We are not worthy...
Thanks Michael ,,, Well Said ! !
Best comment I ever read!!!!!!!!
100%
agree
Legends! And then Vinnie on drums and Wilkenfeld on bass ... omg!
Incredible, so nice beck wanted page there for him. Really special
Moment to share with 1 person.
R.I.P. Jeff. The greatest guitarist EVER. 🎸🎸🎸⚘⚘⚘🕊🕊🕊
When I was in college all the cool guys were listening to Clapton, Page, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, etc... I was the geeky one and I'd always ask "what about Jeff Beck, he's better than all of them" and they'd ignore me. The problem was that after the Yardbirds he wasn't really out there and we were mostly too young to have heard much of the Yardbirds. I had "Rough and Ready" and then "Blow by Blow". I played "Blow by Blow" for the group when it came out and they all sat there in stunned silence listening. When I want to hear Jeff Beck that same copy of "Blow by Blow" is what comes out. Jeff Beck is the absolute master of guitar.
I can't helo but getting so emotional with this video!! Amazed to see how Vinnie and Tal are REALLY digging playing with Jeff and Jimmy and grooving their asses off!!
I see these five as about equally talented and very well matched. They know the art of musical collaboration as well as their own roles and instruments. Beck's best band ever was himself plus Tal, Vinnie, and Stephen. Listen to the entire Live at Ronnie Scotts concert and you'll hear serious artistry and see some amazing interplay among them.
@@williamburkholder769 thanks for the heads up, I'll try to find it!
@@calgarywino In the crowd that night was Page and Plant, also Tony Iommi and Brian May.
RIP Jeff beck, simply said you were the most we’ll rounded guitarist ever in this world. Prayers for your family god bless.❤❤😊😊
It was documented that Page played the twelve string Fender on the studio recording of "Beck's Bolero". That's it. That's the guitar from Page's collection.
Joseph Falco It’s also on Stairway to heaven and The rain song amongst others, the double neck was just for the stage.
Page used the good old tele for the Stairway solo
@@MJEvermore853 which Beck have him. Ain't that crazy
Mrudula Lele...yep, a gift to Jimmy from Jeff for helping get Beck into the Yardbirds
Jethro Torczon...yes indeed
Give him another award in memoriam. We won't mind. RIP, JB. (Wow, what a moment!)
When I was 18 in 69 my friends and I would argue over who was the best out of all the amazing guitarists back then. Time has proved me to be right
Fantastic!
Eddie Van Halen inspired some of his later stuff it seems, but Eddie was inspired by him. All the legends made each other better.
Man, one ofJeff Beck’s many many talents was his ability to bring an audience right to tears with the ethereal haunting Where Were You, then savagely go on a warpath and rip your face off like he did here, starting off with a savage interpretation of Robert Plants war cry and slashing everyone and everything standing in his way right through to the end of this musical interlude. I miss this man’s genius already.
Jimmy is so freaking cool walks in and starts playing the Immigration Song 1:59 nice solo by Beck.
Mr. Beck... i imagine you entering in Heaven with your butter-coloured Fender playing your Boler... a crowd of angel on each side... Jimi, Eddie and all Guitar Stars waiting you! Love forever and thank you for your music!
i am glad to see he has Tal Wilkenfeld playing with him, she so good and having so much fun
R.I.P. Jeff. You were the best.
Really isn't anyone who sounds like Jeff. His singular in his sound.
Here in 2014 listening to two pop greats. I first remember Jeff from way back the late '60s with Hi Ho Silver ;lining. Geez that was a long time ago but Jeff played hard and long. R.I.P. Jeff, your music lives on. :)
Massive! RIP Jeff Beck.Thank you. We love you...
R.I.P. JEFF. YOUR MUSIC FOREVER.
Getting inducted into the rock n roll hall of Fame, a lifetime of practice and performance where 150% is never enough - The high harmonic at the end of the performance at JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT - PRICELESS!! thanks Jeff
Yes, Janet Jackson must be soooo thrilled!
Rest In Peace! Your life’s body of work and your presence as a generous person is an example for others to follow! Fantastic!
This is musical history right here.
A one time event.
Jimmy Page- twelve string electric.
Jeff Beck- stratocaster guitar 🎸
Two legends together again 💜 (!)
Thank you boys.
Well done. 🕉
What can you say, 2 of the best ever at their craft!
I can't believe the stage didn't implode from the massive amount of talent on it. RIP Legend!
Have mercy ! It has been a blessing to have lived in a era of talented musicians such as Beck and Paige ! Thanks to you both for sharing you talents and gift's ! RIP Jeff Beck
*Page
his bending technique made him sound like he was using a guitar synth before it was invented.
jeff playing his NATIONAL ANTHEM for everybody!! rip j a b we love u ! john and raebelle
I'm getting ready to turn 61. Crank it up, let's go for a drive and FIRE ONE UP. Mr. Beck, I salute you.
Jeff Beck!!! The guitar player of the 60s that the gods decided NOT to destroy.
Along with Clapton, Page, Iommi and others. BB King had a good innings too.
well Jeff had a Big Hand in just that !
sadly most of them destroyed themselves. this video is a good example of how their fortunes have varied. beck keeps getting better. while page's skills have been greatly eroded by time and heroin.
Jeff takes care of himself. He was the smartest of them all. Never had a drug problem and is vegetarian since 1960s. Beloved...always trying something new!
Sadly, Jeff has left us today. RIP Mr. Beck
A true trailblazer of the instrument, unique sound and a style all his own
Page and Beck should start a Band. EPIC!
Don't think that would be good, earth shifting off it's axis and all. They are like matter and anti-matter. Great friends but too much energy in one place can be an uncontrollable thing!
Jeff Beck was a virtuoso with his Strat! Miss him so much! But, thankfully, we have his legacy here to see whenever we want, and I watch this regularly!
It keeps me young
(I'm 69!)
I was very lucky to see Jeff Beck about 12 years ago in Minneapolis. I'd never been to a concert where there were no vocals at all. Jeff lets his guitar sing for him! He also did a few duets with a blonde female guitarist ( not sure of her name...... ) who was well on her way to a great career as either a solo or lead player. Didn't hear right for days!!
maybe it was Jennifer Batten ?
The blonde you saw with Beck was Jennifer Batten. Yes, she is a sensational player, and is renowned as one of the first to master the two-handed tapping technique (see YT video of Jeff on Letterman doing 'What Mama Said' for a bit of that). She was with Michael Jackson for a number of years (see clips from the 'Bad' tour) and with Jeff for three years.
I saw Jennifer with Jeff in 2000 (I think). BLEW ME AWAY! One of the best shows I've ever seen.
rip jeff , whole lotta talent!!!
RIP Jeff. Now you'll play guitar for the angels 🎸 🎶
Beck is light years ahead of the pack!!
Anyone who still thinks Hendrix is/was number 1 must be DEAD:
Hendrix and Beck-the best, although you can't compare them, they are so different.
Roy Lay you skipped Robert Fripp and Todd Rundgren
What an AMAZING performance by Jeff Beck!
Ladies and Gentleman, TAL WILKENFELD
She wouldn’t cut in Steely Dan. So much better bass players. Gimmicks. Anthony Jackson. Just cause she’s a girl we have to lower the talent level. John Scofield, my fav, well 1 of many. She couldn’t sit it with a gogo or uberjam. Or play glamour professional.
@@DANTEANDOLINI it's alright bigot you don't listen to enough of her stuff. There's a reason she plays for Beck
If she plays for Beck who am I to argue.. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@mrudulalele3358 Well, she's okay.., she's just young a white.
Roger Smith Yeah, I'm sure Jeff Beck picked her because she's a gimmick. 🙄
Two genius's on stage together. Just wonderful.
Tal Wilkenfeld: "And sometimes i play with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck at the same time" Yeah!
Jorge Espinosa Chacón
Not many bassists could say that! Finally these musicians who happen to be female and are not front people are getting there due! Between Ms Dorsey and of course Tal, they are just so creative, technically great, solid as rocks and pure musicians!
Holy Shit!🤪🤪🤪pure Mastery and full throttle Energy!Amazing!✌✌✌
Notice how amazing this performance is compared to most of the Hall of Fame performances.
Sticking a shit ton of famous artists on stage does not automatically make for a good performance. Most often, it's quite the opposite.
Page grinning From ear to ear as Jeff imitates Plants howl on guitar just loving it .
"Jimmy... PREACH!"
Rest in peace, genius Jeff Beck.
Tal Wikenfeld on bass!
Sofa King Hot!
Brilliant Bass Player.......
She's fucking phenomenal.
Wiki copy and paste...Beck's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where they played "Beck's Bolero" and were joined by Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page on "Immigrant Song". Beck recalled:
"When I was inducted we were going to have Jimmy Page come on and play '(Beck's) Bolero'. But I didn't think it would be right for him to be playing rhythm guitar all the way through that one number. Then the phone rang and it was Tal Wilkenfeld, my then bass player. She was on the way down in the elevator and told me we should play "Immigrant Song". We were going on in ten minutes and had no time to rehearse. She said 'Oh, when you stop in the middle of 'Bolero', when the rhythm changes, we'll kick in to "Immigrant Song"'. "That's what I like - right on the hoof. Nobody knew, the lighting and sound guys didn't know, the organizers didn't know. I just grabbed the microphone and shouted, 'Jimmy Paaaage' and went straight into the song. I loved that. That's what you call dangerous, that's living on your reflexes."
I love her. She's on of those prodigies...so lucky when she hooked up with when she was like 18!
It couldn't get better, Jeff and Jimmy, dynamite.
I wish I could find the interview with Tal in which she describes her calling up Jeff and Vinnie suggesting this Immigrant Song thang-a-roo - it was HER idea
Page and Beck. what a amazin guitar duo. R.ip Jeff Beck ( 1944-2023)
Pretty damn cool to have Page play since he wrote the tune. Beck plays it like it’s nothing to it. A master.
Great Jeff, one of the greatest rock guitar player ever on this planet !
The greatest guitarist of all time. RIP, Mr. Beck
Jeff Beck once said the problem with the Yardbirds was too many good guitar players not enough song writing.
Where did you read that (or maybe heard it}.

WHY ! ? ! ? ! ?
sans Clapton

Jimmy Page & Jeff Beck are two of the most amazing guitarists of all time. What Jimmy Page did with Led Zeppelin was unprecedented. Jimi Hendrix, the greatest guitarist of all time, would be amazed with what Jimmy Page accomplished. I do want to say this about Jeff Beck, he could go toe to toe with any guitarist whoever played. He could go on stage with Jimi Hendrix and still look phenomenal. Of course, the same thing could be said about Jimmy Page. I think Jeff Beck is very underrated. Most people have no idea how truly great he was and is.
Iazaros, I believe they both taught each other or at least influenced each other.
He is brilliant, make no mistake. it's not just speed it's melody and lead and phrases and riffs, it's what makes a guitarist good, nay great! I'm in awe, and that's so good!
Vinni Caliouta on drums.!!!!! Wow.
Great song by Jeff Beck.R.I.P.
Wow!Incredible. He gave it all to ya!
He was truly from another World.
Wow, such a class act. I'm 68 but was never really into Jeff Beck, or even aware of him, back in the old days. He was one of the great rockers whom, for whatever reason, I never caught onto. Pity. Now I'm making up for it. Cheers🍷
Jimmy .... Paaaaage !! haha
Jeff was 65 when he did this ... my god !! When all you do is play guitar then you become very good at it !
This is ULTIMATE rock guitar musicianship! Beck totally slays me in whatever genre of playing he is engaged in . HIghly recommend the Ronnie Scott live and Rock and Roll Party DVD's as MUST haves for any guitar afficionado. Had the pleasure of seeing the Jeff Beck Group (w/Rod Stewart) when they opened up for Janis Joplin at the old roller rink in Alexandria, VA. in 1968. Been a die hard fan ever since.
this was so badass to see two of the best up there like old times long live jeff and jimmy!!!!!
❤️ always back for this epic performance
Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page - Doesn't get any better than that!
I could watch Jeff and Jimmy for hrs
Very few things are sexier than an accomplished musician wailing on an electric guitar!
its great to see them all having fun no matter what their skill level is or isn't
Love Jimmy Page, but Jeff Beck is God to me. Been following both since 1967.
