RIP Jeff. You were probably the most talented electric guitar player to walk this planet. Certainly one of the most innovative and creative, who always thrived to push the limits of the electric guitar. May God welcome you in His Kingdom. You will forever be remembered down here.
I am pretty sure that based on evangelical Christian tenets Jeff will be enjoying himself along with Jimi, Bonzo and John Entwhistle and all the other rock ‘n’ rollers in ‘the other place’
I see videos of insanely fast, clean shredders all the time. For 30 seconds I'm impressed, then I'm bored. What I never get tired of is guitar playing that tells a story and gives voice to some emotion. After 49 years of listening to David Gilmour, I still get blown away every time I hear him play.
Yeah, speed ain't nothing without class. I had a guitar teacher 50 years ago who could shred Flight of the Bumblebee (George Bien, he has a video on UA-cam) but he told me he has to try to be faster than everybody else because nobody could get more sound out of one bent note than David Gilmour.
Sweet mother....Beck and Gilmour together. Two of the most expressive and emotional guitar players in the history, coming together. This is just unbelievable

Yes, this is just amazing! Wonderful handling of the tone and choice of notes in both of them....Also, Gilmour has often cited "Albatross" as a key influence on his playing style and this is clearly audible here, in the background groove too.
These two have such great ears for tone, feel and taste - they simply are the best of the best! And while David isn't the technical wizard Beck is, his playing is just as astonishingly musical and beautiful. Gilmour can absolutely blow you away with three notes played in just the right place, in just the right way.
Agree of course, they're immediately recognizable by their tone and the way they'll tweak a melody. Also, the impact of "Albatross" (often cited by Gilmour as an influence on him) is clearly heard here!
Man, David is so damn humble! And Jeff taking a bow in the end? Wow! That says a lot about how much they respect each other. Jeff is playing, having big fun, while David seems to be loving it, but still focusing not to fail, like: "I just can't be messing things up around Jeff..." 2 monsters, 2 of my favourites, enjoying the world of their own. 🎸❤️🙏🎼🎧🎤🎹
David Gilmour is solid proof that fast shredding isn't what players should practice. Slow, meaningful lead guitar and great tone are far more pleasing the ears. .

I went to a concert several years ago and there were several rock mega guitar stars there including Beck.
