- Got Steam Heat? Need a new gas steam boiler? Today we removed a grossly oversized 9 section Burnham SIN9 and installed a IN8 245k gross input BTU gas fired boiler. Watch as we disassemble and remove the cracked boiler, bring the new boiler down to the basement with our electric hand truck, pipe-in the new boiler and startup and commission the new equipment.

Mikey - it's really great to see your son working with you & you are throwing him right into things making him work. If I may, and I hope you don't take offense to this, but make him earn it. No special treatment. You are assembling a great young team and everyone seems to have such a can-do attitude. Danielson and Peter Pan are both very pleasant humble guys, and your son I can already see is just like them. Congrats to you on 30K. Awesome to see the growth. I've been with ya since your "why pipes freeze" video 3 or so years ago. I'm really happy for your success. You put the effort in and you deserve the success. Good luck on that 50K goal my friend. Cheers!
Awesome installation by an awesome crew ... Count your blessings ... Thx to your son for his service ...
Cherish the time you and your son spend together. Life is short and we never have enough time.
Very short. Both of my sons have passed.
Thank your son for his service! From a former Navy photographer!!
This was a fun install
Looks like you have a great crew that’s not afraid to have fun on the job, love to see it!
What a great working team. 3 young men that could probably run the business one day. Congrats on 30k. 20k more to go
What a great team, everyone brings something to the table!!! That’s speaks volumes of you Mike and how you run and respect your guys!!
He just started to respect his guys you know he was an a****** couple years ago
Your videos are addictive. Great content and I learn something new with each one. Thanks Mikey!
Awesome tool for descending stairs
I see the Kid Likes what he's doing he's buying tools he's going to go a long way
30k so happy for ya ! Have a great night. Ty
One time for my mans Daniel out here with the offset bends.
Awesome vid mike great too see you has a good crew working for you
definitely liking your hand truck!
Great video from the Pipe Doc Crew & like that Chris is their working w/ ya Mike (not easy working w/ family; but definitely see this working out 100%). Pretty cool to teach your son the Trade you do and pass all that knowledge down to next generation. Imagine that maybe one day Pipe Doctor business could be passed down in ur fam and could be like 5th Gen running business and so on; that’s sweet👍🏻
They dolly is incredible. I neeeeeeeeeeeed one
Congratulations on 30k subs brotha been here since the beginning
Great video with the power mate. To show how heavy the boiler is.
All the lads are coming a long nicely Mike Great team
That looks great Danielson
Mikey pipes is the fucking best. Always a great attitude and doesn't take shit. I like to think I'm the same way.
I always said it the tools do the work, got to have the right tools
Nice job Daniel on the pilot tubing!
Great video as always Mike God bless you and your team and congrats to the new member of the team Chris God bless you and you will excel in this career just listen to what your dad says you’ll go far
Working for my Dad was the hardest Man i EVER worked for, but it was worth it.
Nice job guys. I like that new hand truck we have a similar one it's by electro truck it's orange. On the feeder it's a good idea to set the time for a longer duration especially if your returns could be sludgy. 👍
That cart is badass
Let Daniel know that it’s always easier to pull the wrench towards him, instead of pushing from behind. That’s coming from a guy that was 130lbs at the age of 17 doing the same. I learned the hard way!
Great video
Another great video real and uncut. Good dog footage. Very nice install. Good very knowledgeable guys you have working for you. That powered lift for the stairs was very helpful. Never seen one of those before.
Crusty barnacles
Been here since like 2k subs, hopefully you hit 100k this year!
Good Luck to Air Force None. Ben Franklin said. He Who Hath a TRADE -Hath an Estate. Junior should realize how lucky he really is. Keep feeding us Mike. 🤙🍻🍺🙏
That's looking good Daniel on pilot TUBE
Wow that is good amount for scraping a boiler. I’m a scraper in my area I love going to the scrap yard.
That’s awesome you and your son are working together. Two of my friends have fathers who are master plumbers and neither of them will work with their father. Funny part is that they are apprentice plumbers for other outfits. If you have the opportunity to work with your old man I wouldn’t pass up on that. That’s how generational wealth and prosperity come about. No job is going to be all sunshine and rainbows. Keep up the good work guys!
25:16 OMG that reflection is so great in the back window. Looks like you are backing up and going fast! Then you are looking over your shoulder like you are backing up! Bravo there sir! 😁🍺 Then it goes into a shot of you actually backing up on the next cut.
How cool is it to use the right tool for the right job
Thanks for showing bringing the boiler in with the powered hand truck, i was thinking about getting one. It looks scary
I saw Peter Pan at AF in Freeport I was going to ask for a autograph but he seemed deep in thought 🤘🏻. Keep pumping out the great videos . Oh BTW that hand truck is a back savor.
Only $98! thought I'd be more.. Top notch install..
Awesome seeing you and your son working together. I’ve been lucky to work with my father as well and love it. But I do want to say if you haven’t used megapress before it’s very important that when you cut the pipe it gets cut as straight as possible so it doesn’t angle itself when it’s pressed
Also important to ream and clean the iron pipe when pressing gas. A jagged cut can rip the gasket inside the fitting causing a leak even on a straight cut. Ask me how I know.
@@kotaplumbingandheating ouch haven’t had that happen to me yet. With the price of fittings I try and take no chances and clean the hell out of the pipe
nice pipe work Danny.
Daniel should get a 24” steel pipe wrench and a 3’ cheater pipe. Don’t want to break a aluminum one. Penetrating oil and heat helps on the stubborn ones.
Hello from Dublin Ireland 🙂🇮🇪☘️
Wow you could have used that crane again with that beast.
Nice job
That’s another good one was hoping for a drop header 🤣
Nice install. I miss the drop header like the other install had.
Nice
Good job on bending the gas tubing Daniel. It looks like you've been doing it for years.
Need to carry a 2x4 to put behind wheels to tilt back. Have to go 2 steps first. First step is for wheels. Also you need a large heavy guy at the top. Automatic heating in the Bronx, ny, Delivered thousands of boilers in 40 yrs
You guy’s earned your shekels today……..You know what hard work gets you? MORE hard work!😂
Always loved ❤️doing Rip-outs………took out all of my frustrations.
Nice work as always, Mikey👍
Must be a big house that boiler is a monster
Love the lift. Must be 250 400 lbs. You go Mikey pipes. Love the videos
It took me forever to realize that was Honeywell.
You do heck of lot boilers, condensing boilers. I stick to gas furnaces and heat pumps and a lot of duct jobs. Only due couple boilers a year. Hate everyone of them. But like watching you put them in. Lol
Guys take advantage of everything his teaching your... i pray God for you guys not to give up. Learn and learn the trade is good, it take times but as long you stay in you would see reward throughout it. God bless you all
Nice work greatings from Bulgaria.

This is my djob whith my brother
Quality work Mikey you gotta teach the boys to use a piece of pipe as a extension to break the pipe lose
I use electric EMT as cheater extensions, but fence post/top rail pieces work well also and are much lighter than thick wall iron piping.
just choose the right size to fit over the handles. you'll bend or break the wrenches well before that tubing gives up and my bent 24" wrenches agree.
Wow scrap cast has some good value to it, back in my day we tore out many, many coal conversion gravity furnaces and we were lucky to get 20.00 . We used to call them octopuses and that was the worst mess to tear them out , all that crap we inhaled asbestos wrapped duct work eeeekkkkkssss ! we did not know any better. I dont know if this ever happens but please have who ever is banging on that cast to put on some safety glasses I would hate for a piece of that cast to fly off and injure one of your crew. Another good video very entertaining to watch and air force 1 fitting in well with the guys!
7:37 Keep that in mind MAX 30 PSI water and MAX 15 PSI steam is the rating on the unit. While there is safety factor built into that to go above, those aren't very high pressures if safeties fail! 😮💥 Love when they put a hot water heater T&P on.
your choking that hammer like it owes you money my guy
Mikey is holding on to his life
Mcn in farmingdale has the biiiiiiiiiiig pipe vise. Things a beast for pipe upto 5 inches
Another great video. You run a pleasent work environment . Looking forward to the epic pool party. Haha Godzilla could have strapped the boiler to his back and eliminated the power hand truck
My father in law died from mesothelioma. When he was in training to be a surgeon the hospital redid all the piping. He inhaled that for years. He (after death) won one the first asbestos cases in the nation. He died in the middle of trial. The other side tried to get it dismissed, well because the plaintiff couldn't testify. That really happened. Thankfully the judge saw it differently. Both his daughters became MD's. That stuff is no joke. He had some horrible surgeries done (whipple). He got about 5 more years after that before it was in his brain.
Mikey, I think you need to mount a vise to one of your trucks that do installs or piping jobs.
Yeah today was a fun day for me I had to teach a newbie how to sweat copper cuz he really wanted to know and I really didn't want to teach him at that point but I did anyways
Employee of the day. Hooray
Nice work.
Thanks again for the videos.
🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🏌🏻♀️🎯
Stay safe.
Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
Nice job! Working with the kiddo. I like. So I have to ask - why the water auto feeder?
I thought you were going to start doing drop headers on steam boilers? I think Pyle is a better name for Chris. Air Force None is a little over the top. Peter truly has a lot of potential, he may take a little longer to bloom but I think he will be very good. Daniel is doing quite well, he should join a gym and build up his strength. Nice install, good work guys, from the old hvac guy in Toronto 👍👍🇨🇦
I replaced a WM EG11 with a Burnham IN8. Now that was oversized. :)
2:19 Mikey…..you forgot us; come rescue and bring us along for that great FOOD you “dish out”😉
👍
Mikey pipes, 👌
12:09 torch heat the fitting and the pipe will nearly fall out with just the wrenches. while leverage is friend, heat is your best friend.😁
How long does it take the boys to learn their apprenticeship and is it all on the job or do they go to a college as well, another great video
Was it a vapor stat?
Hey Happy Birthday to those families. It's also my birthday. I am turning 39 this day. 1-26-22!!!
Thanks Mikey for the wishes. I hope to get half as tipsy as you do on yours.
I have. Just have to act clean around one certain person and he doesn't follow you so I know I'm ok saying this. Had one 8% alc vol at work and now working on number 3 5.5% alc vol at home. At least I didn't get drunk on the job. Loving my birthday so far. Thank you brother.
Right... I mean who counts the drinks on their own celebration?
That power mate is pretty slick is that new. Is your son going to be working with you full time?
Heat is your friend! L.u. 85
Hey buddy I’m thinking of updating my gas boiler. I have a 2 floor house. I’m thinking of going with a Peerlees boiler. Or do you have one you would recommend
Thanks buddy. I’m in Pougkeepsie NY
Ahhh Kroil the best penetrating oil for the big black things
What happened to all new installations having a drop header? Yes you said they got a new feeder, but wondering why you went this route? Ball breaking work getting that boiler down the steps 👍👍. Amazing watching DanielSon enjoying himself on these new installations! Get the 48” DanielSon! Was my favorite Ridgid!
@@PipeDoctor 😂😂😂😂 that beast will bulk him up!
get him two 48" iron wrenches. 😏 swinging a pair of them around will man him up, building muscles fast.
but two of them probably weigh more than him 🤪🤪
@@throttlebottle5906 😂😂😂
I bought this same cart from Canada about 6 months ago the cart alone is heavy as hell it’s a shity feeling lowering it down..it’s like 700lds lowering to a couple of guys you shit your self thinking this could kill them and the straps cam locks feel like someone hits this and it will loosen but big back saver wait till you use it on a staircase that turns
You need to give the other Mike a nickname lol
Mike g should be big g
Mike do you guys ever use heat to loosen them pipe joints? Seems like I never see heat used on plumbing pipes like rigid pipe or black pipe any reason why
@@PipeDoctor OH ok guess that's 👌 😅
it's another hand truck the name is escalera one guy bring the boiler to the baseman i have one work great check out
Im not clear on how you moved that boiler once it hit that bottom landing - piano dolly? Daniel gonna get a hernia he keeps that up...
We’ll I was close I guessed you got $95 out of that scrap 😀
Hi Mikey pipes and son of pipes!
You got any suggestions or tricks on how to remove old black iron steam pipes that won’t thread out. Obviously cut them out but what if I want to use the old fitting and can’t rethread the pipe because of its location. I’m poor so I can’t afford the mega press tool for black iron lol
We used a tool you don't see much these days,"the hot wrench " ,AKA oxy acetylene torch. Heat the ring of the fitting ,squirt cold water on the pipe and unscrew them.
A reducing 90 on the header would look better, instead of the coupling
Mikey Plumber technicians rocking those Lets Go Brandon work shirts alright alright!! 🔥💪
My best advise for you man is to learn as much you can learn ftom your Dad. And be the man that he is under God. One day for you to be onwner of the business, God bless you Mike i love your videos
You seem like a great plumber but I feel like your horns probably broke from all that tooting 😂
That power mate is freakin awesome. How much that thing go for?
@@PipeDoctor speaking of 3. Should do I do 3.0” or 3.2” WC on my carrier 80 plus furnace that’s oversized? Hahahaha. Nameplate says 3.2-3.8. Was 3.85 according to manometer. It’s currently at 3.2 but I wanna do 3.0. It was getting a 61F rise, now 55F rise. Nameplate says rise should be 30-60F.
@@PipeDoctor what model power mate is it?
@@PipeDoctor are you happy with it?
" what do you need a 48 for?" Because size matters!. 😁😁
Do you ever use pipe dope as a lube on your unions ?
@@PipeDoctor thanks, great videos btw
That is Navian Nose Candy.
@@PipeDoctor thought you might like that
Do you normally bring your boilers to the scrap yard?
@@PipeDoctor what do you normally do with them?
