I like how the computer does some sweep under my punch where it’s nowhere near be but my punch has enough to reach them and I’m the one that takes damage.
When I saw the title, I knew the charging thing would be in here. That always angered me; especially when Balrog would rush punch the hell out of you with no charging.

Fightning against another player was considered true play in Street Fighter 2. Fight against the CPU was more like learning AI patterns and not actual fighting, because the AI did things that normal players should not be able to do, but the AI was so buggy that you could take advantage of it.

Very true, I remember I could beat the game, on hardest setting, with blanka, without losing a round because I had all the patterns figured out. He's was the only character that could compete with Vega's jumping.
@@bobbobby8250Guiles invisible throw could be used to win a game without even letting the other person touch you. It could also be used to pull Vega off the fence so he couldn't slam you. Only works on original SF2 world warrior though. They patched it out for all the versions after.

You forgot to talk about one more thing. The damage scaling on a Player 1 Normals/Specials are completely different from a CPU Normal/Specials. A crouching heavy kick or a standing medium punch can do more damage than 5 chip fireballs. One Dee Jay Machinegun Upper can take almost your entire life bar. It's incredibly stupid.
Yep. When you play against the CPU in older games, you are not fighting against the same version of that character you would play normally. They're like a specially "balanced" version of that character, specifically designed for the CPU to control. They run under special programming flags that completely change their animations, moveset functionality, damage values, and even frame data so that the CPU has more of an advantage than the player. Mortal Kombat and especially SNK fighting games operated on the same design principles.

My favorite "cheating by not charging" moments were when I'd hear Guile saying "Sonic-- Sonic Boom!" as he interrupted throwing one sonic boom with another sonic boom. Cuz like... yeah, you can't do that.
Yes, I told my friend that, and he didn't believe me. He one-upped me by saying, "Yea, and I saw Ryu 'Hadou-Hadouken' me man..." And I went 😑😑💭 (I wasn't lying dude).
Even with a turbo controller holding down ALL the buttons and mashing the D-Pad, I could still never manage to get that many hits from the grab-type throws. On the hardest difficulty the CPU would sometimes break free of the grab before it could even hit once.
I always wondered about a turbo controller. Interesting I swear there were kids at Pier 39 (SF early 90’s) who could play like the computer. I left embarrassed and convinced there were god mode single frames these kids could hit. I was good but couldn’t compete. One kid defeated everything I had with Chun Li drop kicks. Literally his only move and nearly untouchable. 🤷🏻♂️
You can't and never will. I've hacked this game and there are actually certain limits to a throw that are concrete to players regardless of how well they mash. The CPU has different ones set entirely.
Hey Everyone, ever since the shadow chun-li video went up I've been putting a ton of time into another new vid... and it's not this one. 4 weeks work and it's currently sitting at around 17 minutes and is the longest video I've ever made, by far. @@Denji2006 Oh it's not even the impossible bits that bothered me. It's the bits where it flat out changed the rules in its favor for select moments. That "god mode" section isn't something I remember but that may be because it sometimes happened too fast for my teenage mind to process. The 95% throws though? Yeah, that bullshit had me breaking controllers...AND TV screens.

true, he just spams the crouching kick and that does more damage than any special moves of other characters , you cannot even get out because it blocks your attacks and then delivers the kick again , and if you block he crouching kick too long it will grab and use its piledriver, basically has all the key info to make all the perfect moves.

Seriously, we need to get over that and evolve the move inputs like Weaponlord did with Hold button, control pad motion, release button commands. I think it would be more fair if you held a Punck/Kick button like Juri does.

The one that gets me the most angry is when you throw Ken or Ryu, and while they're falling back, they seem to go instantly into the uppercut and fly an absurdly ridiculous amount of space across the screen.
The button mashing though was the wrost for me. When Blanka, Zangief, Honda or Dhalsin grabbed me I used to just throw the controller away; it was frustating to see the lifebar, some times completely full, being drained helpless like that. Many times I just turned off the console out of anger. Fuck, I remember when I was about 7 or 8 years old crying, FUCKING CRYING of rage!!!

in the era of arcades im sure this was common practice for every game, the cpu cheating and manipulating the player for just one more match to beat that boss, and so you put more coins in the machine.
This is further evidence by MK2 and X-Men COTA where the CPU reacts to all of your button presses or are given more priority with their attacks. In MK2 the CPU can grab you if they are close enough even if you use long reach attacks. In X-Men the CPU can auto block all of your attacks until they don't feel like doing it. I test it by spamming jab away from Cyclops and all he did was tap block everytime.

Street Fighter 2 was the only game where the CPU felt like a conscious A.I. acting emotionally by cheating against you. We all talked to and swore at the CPU when it cheated / played cheap.
Just about every fighting game cheats. I've actually caught the CPU reading my buttons. I'd fake like I was doing a fireball or something (just the arrows) and they'd block. Just one if many examples. There's also the insane amount of damage the boss does and the paltry amount you do. The CPU doesn't beat you with skill; it can't (past normal) so it resorts to using Neo tactics.

@desk there are two you forgot. 1. The bell. If you throw a fireball at them and it hits them after the bell, no damage happens. But not only they can attack for 1 frame longer than you can, their attack will also damage you AFTER THE BELL, and can even cause a KO even though you rightfully won. 2. Damage. They actually do around 30% more damage per move. You can tell if you look at the raw value of the health bars in Super Turbo.

@Mojo Risin They do, but not So blatant. Back in the day the AI straight up read your inputs and blocked/parried your attacks. Now the AI is worse in terms of intelligence, but i actually prefer that over unfair fight Thats designed to milk you.

Input reading is still a thing (inhuman response times born out of reacting only when you input an action), but the other methods today are less obvious. It'll be things like moves being positive on block when they use it, despite it not being the case when the player tries the same shit.
@@Senhordaverdadeabsol Back in the days I wasn't aware of the mandatory 2 seconds of charge time so I would blame myself for not being able to do the charging moves as fast as CPU Guile/Blanka did. I tried a lot to do the moves fast before giving up.

You as a player could do the one second flash kick, but not the walking forward flash kick. In order to do the to do the 1 frame flash kick : As you jump you immediately go into defensive crouch, the charge count will start and by the time you land you could execute the flash kick by pushing diagonal forward up. Good Guile players knew this so every time they jump they always immediately defensive crouch so you could do kick flash kick combos without guile even having to crouch, like jumping in fierce punch, fierce punch flash kick. The worst cheat I ever saw the game would have you in a holding grab position with Guile, you would remain standing and Guile would stand right next to you and you cannot move but the game continues to strong punch you until your life bar was emptied.
I had that issue with Guile too. Whenever I'd try to attack him from the air, he'd always get me with a Flash Kick. So what I'd do is try to fake him out by making the CPU think I'm attacking him with LK or MK so he'd pull off another Flash Kick and miss, then I would body slam him in the air (this strategy works mainly with Chun-Li).
I had it worst. He walks towards me. I land a hit. What does he do? Standing flash kick. No crouching. I think the CPU cheats by counting 1\4 of one second with 1\4 of another second and calls that half second as a full two seconds. That's what I think.
I still remember the last time I played Street Fighter. A new edition had just come out, I think it was Super Street Fighter 2. I was at Scandia in Rohnert Park, CA, and I was using Blanka and fighting against the computer using Blanka. Keep in mind that I had been playing Street Fighter II for years and wasted lots and lots of money on it. Anyway, I did the cannonball charge at him and he grabbed me out of the air and starting eating my face. It was near the beginning of the match and I had most of my life, but he ate my face until I had only a little bit of life left. Nearly all my life gone. Then he did it again the next match, and then again. I was mashing buttons hoping to escape until I realized that it wasn’t helping. Just let him eat my face. Finally I was like, “F**k this!!” I walked away and that was the last time I ever put any money into a Street Fighter game.

I did that with MK3 Ultimate, when they started pulling Killer Instinct-style combos in the first round. Get Gud wouldn't cut it. It was such bullshit.
We knew what it was doing. We kept playing lol. We were so good at this game. At it's peak, there was a street fighter machine in every liquor store, 7-11, video store, etc. There were always lines and competition was fierce. I miss those days.

The cpu really cheats you if you whoop his ass in the first round easily, and almost do it the second round but he makes a miraculous comeback beating you with no life left on his bar. Insane
Can confirm this. It happens on Killer Instinct for SNES. Didn't stop me from beating the game on max difficulty--WITH NO CONTINUES--using every character except Jago. I even developed cheap combos of my own using Riptor, Fulgore and Glacius. Those suckers could wipe out nearly 90% of a CPU's first life bar. IN ONE COMBO.

To be fair, it's entirely possible within the game's rules to mash as fast as the CPU can. It's just that no human can hit a single button 60 times a second.

** What always got me about Bison was the double knee press - when fighting against him he does it over and over and knocks you the fuck out, when using him that move is a piece of shit, it never seems to go far enough and always seems weaker. Same with the head press - CPU pulls is off perfect every time, Vs CPU it’s blocked nearly 100% of the time. The only Bison moves worth pulling off are the psycho crusher and that leg slide thing.
Trying to fight Shen long beating the game on perfect every player getting to Bison and ultimately getting touched by that head stomp still gives me headaches an nightmares
Well, if you are talking about SF2 The world warriors, there Bison was supposed to be a command character, in that version the psycho crusher started with a long preparation, altough AI was instructed to start it whenever it had control and player was jumping into troubles. The great thing about SF2 that got lost after SF alpha and all the alpha cancel, alpha parry, alpha jet-farts was the sense of inevitability. In Street fighter 2, between a fatal mistake and the consequences of that mistake, the player's subjective time expanded, and they had 155 years to contemplate the horror that was bound to come. "You made a poor choice, with that jumping short kick. Now you are falling on Zangief's arms, while he's on ground and has control. you have 1,66 seconds to live, Use them to reflect on how they are much longer than you previously thought."
After 25 years someone has exposed it perfectly well. I knew this and was a master at clocking this game with almost every players in difficult mode. My most played game.
@@PistolPete1980 Yeah thats possible but time passes at the same rate for the cpu as it does for us. I play turbo sometimes and do neutral jumps against guile to bait out flashkicks sometimes but even then the landing frames are so quick.
I disagree, fighting M Bison on max difficulty was the most egregious. 0 charge up time for all of his attacks (all of which are supposed to use charge time) and he spams them non stop.
One thing that upsets me is with the re-releases of this game. They never addressed this problem. Nor have they ever talked about it.… like what is the logical reasoning behind this stuff? This stuff doesn’t make you a better player. Because you literally have to get lucky on top of great gameplay to beat something like this… points that your opponent is invincible, they can break out of a combo whenever they want, use charge moves without really charging, throw you out of a throw… or react faster than humanly possible… like come on 😒

I used to believe that every morning, the game parlour's owner deliberately set each game's difficulty to extremely hardest mode. So that he can drain coins faster from kids who desperately tried to beat the game. When in the hardest difficulty, CPU tends to cheat much as in this vid

Humans could actually do that when Dictator was first playable. I had a “friend” who played him and would have you in block stun for over ten seconds. His charge time was about a second on scissor kicks
Been there and done that more times than my oldest friend and I remotely even care to try and count. When the CPU felt like not playing nice you can bet you were most likely not gonna have an easy day, especially when it came to Bison with all those constant double to triple non charged scissor knees over and over again.
This is nothing. This one time in King of Fighters, I took a CPU opponent down to the magic pixel and I was full hp. He connected ONE special move and killed me. One move took me from full hp to death. My two brothers were watching. I'm now 47 and still haven't lived that down. They bring it up every time we talk gaming.
You forgot that the CPU can do counter hits against you, dealing twice the damage but you can't do that against them. Leading to moments where you both hit each other but you take more damage!

Most people who love playing arcade they continue to play it even after beating it because they love the game. So them doing that really dont make them a lot of money as people who love the game always play it over and over. Make game harder by cheating like this actually makes new players quit playing, not continue to play.

Yep. You could obviously see the skill in another human player, even if they were cheesing you out of the game. The CPU always had god mode available to be switched on. It was not a matter of if but when.
One of the worst offenders was Guile, he could do his fully charged flash kick INSTANTLY. The massive reach on it while also being instantaneous made me think there was a trick to do it but the CPU just cheats and essentially has all of the moves on a single button.

This shit! When I was 10 years old waiting for my mom to get done grocery shopping. If it was Guile I need at least a second try. And Bison at least 3 tries with his damn 3 in a row Psycho Crusher/headstomp bs. I thought I was good until this shit happened.
Ways the SF2 computer was obviously cheating in the 90s: - Would instantly get up from a knock-down and have you in a hold doing damage faster than even the best player could possibly accomplish (Zangief/Blanka/Dhalsim); extra points for doing it to escape a final hit to lose the round (EDIT: Oh I see this exact thing is demonstrated multiple times) - 1 Ryu/Ken DP or Sagat TU would remove 30+% of your meter - You could land 5 fierce and barely do any damage trying to end the round, but they hit you with a strong+jab and you go down like Glass Joe - Blocking certain power moves mysteriously does twice as much damage as other times - Constantly air grabs into throw no matter what you’re throwing at them or how high above you are - Always has the exact cancel move needed to get out of any tight situation
I used to think the computer had an extra button that does the move. No dpad input needed. Just press the "special move" button and the cpu character does it.

You even forgot one: sometimes if your attack should do just enough damage to beat the CPU, it will reduce your attack power just enough to keep going for one more hit. E. Honda (as a CPU opponent) was an especially big offender.
yea, the f****** damage cheat. In a point, the CPU will do more damage (sometimes, the double of usual) and the human player will do less damage (sometimes your attack damage will be less than zero!).

YESSSSSS! You'd use a hard attack knowing full well it's the killing blow (or SHOULD be) while the computer has a sliver of health, just for the CPU to suddenly counter and you die. Annoying AF! Like the CPU could have literally NO health at all, yet somehow still manage to survive through BLOCKING your attacks.

Fightning against another player was considered true play in Street Fighter 2. Fight against the CPU was more like learning AI patterns and not actual fighting, because the AI did things that normal players should not be able to do, but the AI was so buggy that you could take advantage of it.
The classic "cheese" because the CPU is pretty much overtuned, imput reading or straight cheating or all of them combined...

@@bobbobby8250Guiles invisible throw could be used to win a game without even letting the other person touch you. It could also be used to pull Vega off the fence so he couldn't slam you. Only works on original SF2 world warrior though. They patched it out for all the versions after.

The damage scaling on a Player 1 Normals/Specials are completely different from a CPU Normal/Specials.
A crouching heavy kick or a standing medium punch can do more damage than 5 chip fireballs.

Yep. When you play against the CPU in older games, you are not fighting against the same version of that character you would play normally. They're like a specially "balanced" version of that character, specifically designed for the CPU to control. They run under special programming flags that completely change their animations, moveset functionality, damage values, and even frame data so that the CPU has more of an advantage than the player. Mortal Kombat and especially SNK fighting games operated on the same design principles.

Even with a turbo controller holding down ALL the buttons and mashing the D-Pad, I could still never manage to get that many hits from the grab-type throws. On the hardest difficulty the CPU would sometimes break free of the grab before it could even hit once.

I swear there were kids at Pier 39 (SF early 90’s) who could play like the computer. I left embarrassed and convinced there were god mode single frames these kids could hit. I was good but couldn’t compete. One kid defeated everything I had with Chun Li drop kicks. Literally his only move and nearly untouchable. 🤷🏻♂️
You can't and never will. I've hacked this game and there are actually certain limits to a throw that are concrete to players regardless of how well they mash.

Hey Everyone, ever since the shadow chun-li video went up I've been putting a ton of time into another new vid... and it's not this one. 4 weeks work and it's currently sitting at around 17 minutes and is the longest video I've ever made, by far. To prevent getting burned out on it, I decided to spend the past few days making this.

@@Denji2006 Oh it's not even the impossible bits that bothered me. It's the bits where it flat out changed the rules in its favor for select moments. That "god mode" section isn't something I remember but that may be because it sometimes happened too fast for my teenage mind to process. The 95% throws though? Yeah, that bullshit had me breaking controllers...AND TV screens.

The only way you can fight the cpu fairly is in normal to normal high difficulty, that is 5/10 to 7/10

true, he just spams the crouching kick and that does more damage than any special moves of other characters , you cannot even get out because it blocks your attacks and then delivers the kick again , and if you block he crouching kick too long it will grab and use its piledriver, basically has all the key info to make all the perfect moves.

I think the one that pissed me off the most is how fast they recover from being dizzy.
That's why you have to be right next to them. So you can instantly grab their ass with a throw.
The one that gets me the most angry is when you throw Ken or Ryu, and while they're falling back, they seem to go instantly into the uppercut and fly an absurdly ridiculous amount of space across the screen.
The button mashing though was the wrost for me. When Blanka, Zangief, Honda or Dhalsin grabbed me I used to just throw the controller away; it was frustating to see the lifebar, some times completely full, being drained helpless like that. Many times I just turned off the console out of anger.

in the era of arcades im sure this was common practice for every game, the cpu cheating and manipulating the player for just one more match to beat that boss, and so you put more coins in the machine.
This is further evidence by MK2 and X-Men COTA where the CPU reacts to all of your button presses or are given more priority with their attacks. In MK2 the CPU can grab you if they are close enough even if you use long reach attacks.
In X-Men the CPU can auto block all of your attacks until they don't feel like doing it. I test it by spamming jab away from Cyclops and all he did was tap block everytime.

Ive had a command grab executed by the cpu grab me from an absurd range as i watch the same command grab i use whiff at point blank range.

Street Fighter 2 was the only game where the CPU felt like a conscious A.I. acting emotionally by cheating against you. We all talked to and swore at the CPU when it cheated / played cheap.

Just about every fighting game cheats. I've actually caught the CPU reading my buttons. I'd fake like I was doing a fireball or something (just the arrows) and they'd block. Just one if many examples. There's also the insane amount of damage the boss does and the paltry amount you do. The CPU doesn't beat you with skill; it can't (past normal) so it resorts to using Neo tactics.

@desk there are two you forgot.
1. The bell. If you throw a fireball at them and it hits them after the bell, no damage happens.
But not only they can attack for 1 frame longer than you can, their attack will also damage you AFTER THE BELL, and can even cause a KO even though you rightfully won.
2. Damage. They actually do around 30% more damage per move. You can tell if you look at the raw value of the health bars in Super Turbo.
It's so satisfying to know all those years ago when I would yell "bullshit!" at video games that chances are I was right.

Input reading is still a thing (inhuman response times born out of reacting only when you input an action), but the other methods today are less obvious. It'll be things like moves being positive on block when they use it, despite it not being the case when the player tries the same shit.

Guile really was the one who pissed me off with his forward walking sonic booms and the 1 frame crouch into a Flash Kick.
You as a player could do the one second flash kick, but not the walking forward flash kick. In order to do the to do the 1 frame flash kick : As you jump you immediately go into defensive crouch, the charge count will start and by the time you land you could execute the flash kick by pushing diagonal forward up. Good Guile players knew this so every time they jump they always immediately defensive crouch so you could do kick flash kick combos without guile even having to crouch, like jumping in fierce punch, fierce punch flash kick. The worst cheat I ever saw the game would have you in a holding grab position with Guile, you would remain standing and Guile would stand right next to you and you cannot move but the game continues to strong punch you until your life bar was emptied.
I had that issue with Guile too. Whenever I'd try to attack him from the air, he'd always get me with a Flash Kick. So what I'd do is try to fake him out by making the CPU think I'm attacking him with LK or MK so he'd pull off another Flash Kick and miss, then I would body slam him in the air (this strategy works mainly with Chun-Li).
Guile didn't need to charge to throw sonic booms. Ridiculous 😂
I had it worst. He walks towards me. I land a hit. What does he do? Standing flash kick. No crouching. I think the CPU cheats by counting 1\4 of one second with 1\4 of another second and calls that half second as a full two seconds. That's what I think.

I still remember the last time I played Street Fighter. A new edition had just come out, I think it was Super Street Fighter 2. I was at Scandia in Rohnert Park, CA, and I was using Blanka and fighting against the computer using Blanka. Keep in mind that I had been playing Street Fighter II for years and wasted lots and lots of money on it. Anyway, I did the cannonball charge at him and he grabbed me out of the air and starting eating my face. It was near the beginning of the match and I had most of my life, but he ate my face until I had only a little bit of life left. Nearly all my life gone. Then he did it again the next match, and then again. I was mashing buttons hoping to escape until I realized that it wasn’t helping. Just let him eat my face. Finally I was like, “F**k this!!” I walked away and that was the last time I ever put any money into a Street Fighter game.

Can confirm this. It happens on Killer Instinct for SNES. Didn't stop me from beating the game on max difficulty--WITH NO CONTINUES--using every character except Jago. I even developed cheap combos of my own using Riptor, Fulgore and Glacius. Those suckers could wipe out nearly 90% of a CPU's first life bar. IN ONE COMBO.

To be fair, it's entirely possible within the game's rules to mash as fast as the CPU can. It's just that no human can hit a single button 60 times a second.
@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN Except that the computer can't hit the button at 60Hz either. If a game is running at 60fps, the fastest you can tap a button is 30Hz, or on for one frame and off for the next.

** What always got me about Bison was the double knee press - when fighting against him he does it over and over and knocks you the fuck out, when using him that move is a piece of shit, it never seems to go far enough and always seems weaker. Same with the head press - CPU pulls is off perfect every time, Vs CPU it’s blocked nearly 100% of the time. The only Bison moves worth pulling off are the psycho crusher and that leg slide thing.

Well, if you are talking about SF2 The world warriors, there Bison was supposed to be a command character, in that version the psycho crusher started with a long preparation, altough AI was instructed to start it whenever it had control and player was jumping into troubles. The great thing about SF2 that got lost after SF alpha and all the alpha cancel, alpha parry, alpha jet-farts was the sense of inevitability.

After 25 years someone has exposed it perfectly well. I knew this and was a master at clocking this game with almost every players in difficult mode. My most played game.

@@PistolPete1980 Yeah thats possible but time passes at the same rate for the cpu as it does for us. I play turbo sometimes and do neutral jumps against guile to bait out flashkicks sometimes but even then the landing frames are so quick.
I disagree, fighting M Bison on max difficulty was the most egregious. 0 charge up time for all of his attacks (all of which are supposed to use charge time) and he spams them non stop.

One thing that upsets me is with the re-releases of this game. They never addressed this problem. Nor have they ever talked about it.… like what is the logical reasoning behind this stuff? This stuff doesn’t make you a better player. Because you literally have to get lucky on top of great gameplay to beat something like this… points that your opponent is invincible, they can break out of a combo whenever they want, use charge moves without really charging, throw you out of a throw… or react faster than humanly possible… like come on 😒

Here in Brazil, 25 years ago, I saw some guys breaking arcades because these things.
I used to believe that every morning, the game parlour's owner deliberately set each game's difficulty to extremely hardest mode. So that he can drain coins faster from kids who desperately tried to beat the game. When in the hardest difficulty, CPU tends to cheat much as in this vid

Humans could actually do that when Dictator was first playable. I had a “friend” who played him and would have you in block stun for over ten seconds. His charge time was about a second on scissor kicks

Been there and done that more times than my oldest friend and I remotely even care to try and count. When the CPU felt like not playing nice you can bet you were most likely not gonna have an easy day, especially when it came to Bison with all those constant double to triple non charged scissor knees over and over again.

This one time in King of Fighters, I took a CPU opponent down to the magic pixel and I was full hp.
He connected ONE special move and killed me.
One move took me from full hp to death.
My two brothers were watching.
I'm now 47 and still haven't lived that down. They bring it up every time we talk gaming.
You forgot that the CPU can do counter hits against you, dealing twice the damage but you can't do that against them. Leading to moments where you both hit each other but you take more damage!
That was done in the arcade so that you would always lose in a draw if both of you hit simultaneously. Totally scumbag move by the devs.

Most people who love playing arcade they continue to play it even after beating it because they love the game. So them doing that really dont make them a lot of money as people who love the game always play it over and over. I see that all the time for all arcades that use to exist, those few same people who I always play the same arcade cabinets everywhere. Make game harder by cheating like this actually makes new players quit playing, not continue to play.
If your sagat and you do the jump in and light attack kick it drops a knee, but when the CPU sagat does that same knee its a hard attack,

One of the worst offenders was Guile, he could do his fully charged flash kick INSTANTLY. The massive reach on it while also being instantaneous made me think there was a trick to do it but the CPU just cheats and essentially has all of the moves on a single button.
Now i can rest easy. Knowing that my violator has been exposed. Feels like a zangief off my shoulders.

Ways the SF2 computer was obviously cheating in the 90s:
- Would instantly get up from a knock-down and have you in a hold doing damage faster than even the best player could possibly accomplish (Zangief/Blanka/Dhalsim); extra points for doing it to escape a final hit to lose the round (EDIT: Oh I see this exact thing is demonstrated multiple times)
- 1 Ryu/Ken DP or Sagat TU would remove 30+% of your meter
- You could land 5 fierce and barely do any damage trying to end the round, but they hit you with a strong+jab and you go down like Glass Joe
- Blocking certain power moves mysteriously does twice as much damage as other times
- Constantly air grabs into throw no matter what you’re throwing at them or how high above you are
- Always has the exact cancel move needed to get out of any tight situation

I used to think the computer had an extra button that does the move. No dpad input needed. Just press the "special move" button and the cpu character does it.

You even forgot one: sometimes if your attack should do just enough damage to beat the CPU, it will reduce your attack power just enough to keep going for one more hit. E. Honda (as a CPU opponent) was an especially big offender.
yea, the f****** damage cheat. In a point, the CPU will do more damage (sometimes, the double of usual) and the human player will do less damage (sometimes your attack damage will be less than zero!).

YESSSSSS! You'd use a hard attack knowing full well it's the killing blow (or SHOULD be) while the computer has a sliver of health, just for the CPU to suddenly counter and you die. Annoying AF! Like the CPU could have literally NO health at all, yet somehow still manage to survive through BLOCKING your attacks.
