You were able to see the chaos elle in f2p. but jagex also used to give a free member trial at one time i remember. Not sure if those were my member trial days.
I don't think that's how he meant for the ardy knights. I've never seen anyone talk about run on/off at that ardy trap, in that one it's all about not standing next to him so he doesn't despawn by being stuck in one tile too long. It's the ones that are trapped in the bank and nearby that people complain about; if you pickpocket with run on with him cornered, people believe he will walk through you when you fail a pickpocket when you've got him cornered with players. When there's a stack of say, four or five people pickpocketing when he's trapped in the spot by the banker in the bank they will blame someone having run on for him escaping the corner. I even had someone kill the knight because I was thieving with run on, yell at me and then hopped.
i got a myth: trees give more logs before being chopped down if theyre cut down less often. i think its random but it feels like if i cut the same tree over and over as soon as it regrows it gives less logs :O
I remember when Membership started years ago, and in the early days you could see member objects/npcs from free worlds, but couldn’t fight/interact with them. In fact you could cross the member gate west of tally switch worlds and explore the first member area on free side. You couldn’t do much, but I considered it fun. When white wolf mountain was added, that changed.
The myth about the Ardy knights I think more has to do when you have a splasher. If you have run on, its easier to run under the Knight which will cause him to move location because it screws up his collision or something. I don't know if I'm explaining the reason right, but I definitely know that when there is a splasher everyone is yelling RUN OFF
i was going to say this but then saw ur comment, hardly anyone uses the spot he showed in the video anymore, everyone just uses the splasher spot at least in my experience.
@@SackyBalls444 you’re wrong if you click on the tile they’re standing on your thieving animation stalls your movement so you run even if it doesn’t seem like it. And if you get caught by the knight as it happens he’ll move.
@@Bloodravager9 It happens when you misclick the knight, quickly click the knight and then your character bounces. The bouncing only happens when run is on, and if there happens to be a stun coming when you bounce, you will lure the knight from the bank corner.
Turning run off is only useful for when the knight is already moving because of multiple players failing to pickpocket at the the same time. Turning run off stops your character from running to catherby when your click misses the knight.
Myth: Due to the amount of time it takes to get kills, its actually faster to catch hellrats the normal way than it is to hunt for your specific spice when making spicy stews (using a grown cat).
@@user-kk4bq7mb8u Wily cats are amazing in the behemoth rooms. But given that wily cats will also kill regular hellrats much faster, I think the answer isn't obvious 🤔
Myth: Ironman popping party room balloons causes items to disappear? As an Ironman, I stumbled upon a private drop party (at the party room) once with a bunch of items in the chest and I jokingly popped a ton of balloons but didn’t see anything on the ground. I told the guests that there might be some items on the ground after a little bit, but the items never appeared on the ground to them
Myth: casting high alch on the same tick you fall off a rooftop agility course allows you to move sooner. If you have the spell selected before the jump, then click the banknote on the same tick as your hitsplat, I believe it shortens the delay/stall and lets you move a bit sooner, though I've never actually timed it. Also interested if it works with other no-bank actions like fletching.
What about the myth of running through the DT pyramid, if you keep your energy above 80% you won't fail. I thought I saw it on a Mammal video, and it worked when I did DT, I didn't fall.
I've done DT on 4 different accounts with various agility levels and I've never fallen... I didn't even know it was possible until I was watching some ironman progress vid years ago lol
I thought it wasn't that having run off makes it move less, but that the knight will sometimes move toward a player, and if a player has run on, if they misclick and run away from the knight, it can drag the knight farther away from the original tile than if they're walking, simply because the player is moving away at a faster rate This only affects the splashing areas, and not the marketplace area
One other variable with the attas VS iasor seeds. Both start the moment they are planted, therefore theoretically the attas would have a slight time advantage, because you could have a run of fully grown herbs, plant it, immediately reap the benefits and immediately plant your second run. Whereas the iasor, to gain the full benefit, would need to be planted either before planting or directly after planting the herbs, to ensure that that FIRST run of herbs gains the benefits from it. Not sure how much this would skew the data, but definitely a consideration.
In reference to the Ardy knight pickpocketing I'm almost sure he means in reference to when someone is splashing on the knight and the knight generally doesn't move but will spaz out sometimes to what some people claim is having the run energy on
That's the myth I've heard before, but it doesn't seem to be what the two comments were about. The flickering is certainly related to people failing -> thieving CCs will gather in 95+ areas where no one fails and the knight never flickers
Don't forget about game ticks on the teleports. When you click the teletab or spell you could be closer to one game tick than if you were to test it another time.
Myth: Does giving your kingdom in Miscellania one point in idle earn you more resources because they are happier? I've been told this before but not sure if I believe it, although it would be neat if true.
The run/walk myth for traps can also apply to the bridge South of Tai Bwo Wannai, where one of the brothers resides with a few scorpions. I always felt like I was less likely to fall off the bridge with run turned off..
I don’t know if it’s been stated before, but with the ardy knight one, the run on/off only really matters on mass worlds (supposedly). Sometimes because there are too many people the knight will flash in and out of view cause the games loading all the other people, pets etc. when that happens sometimes people click and move to the tile of the knight, then knight comes visible away and they click to pickpocket it, and if they fail that one pickpocket while they are partially under the knight and moves one tile away to hit them (since they were under him) and I believe it only works with run on, otherwise with run off the player moves one full tile out then pickpockets him. This is just my observation from thieving ardy knights.
When it comes to seeing npcs in members areas on f2p worlds, yes. You used to be able to see them. Seeing them is why I bought membership back then, it made me want to experience what I was seeing but couldn't explore. Jagex really should put that in the game. It's a good and subtle marketing move to try to push f2pers into wanting membership. And it's nostalgic.
/when are you guys talking about cause i remember in 2008 west green dragon pit is empty on non member worlds? made me assume members npcs dont spawn on non member worlds
yeah I remmeber seeing greater demons on the other side of a wall when they were not f2p and i was like hoooly shit those things can drop rune full helms i need to get members
i can solve this one for you, nope. the tree doesn't contain the amount of logs, each time you cut a log, there's a 1/8 chance it falls down, exceptions are for single use trees and for redwood which is 1/11
Amazing video :) I enjoy all of your content here on youtube! At 9:40 I think you may have misunderstood the issue with having run energy on while pickpocketing the ardy knight. In the location you showed this issue does not exist. But for people who do this method in the bank it is a real issue. It has a tendency to 'drag' the knight away from the locked location or around whatever is between it and the splasher at the bank. its probably something to do with how you start interacting with stuff 2 tiles away with run on, and only 1 tile away with run off. So if you are running up to the knight with run on and fail the knight then steps forward one tile to bonk you with his sword and is 'dragged' away from the barrier between him and the splasher.
Ohhhh you're right. It's not soup who misunderstood though, it's the guy who wrote that in. This is literally how superstitions develop I'm so amused by this xD
Regarding the Giant Dwarf item requests - there's 2 part of the quest that request items, first ores and then bars. IIRC it works fine with ores, but you actually get punished if you do it with bars, dropping your favour and potentially needing you to fulfil more requests
Myth: An amulet of glory (6) helps you get more gems while mining than an amulet of glory (4) or (1). Pretty sure it's supposedly the same gem increase for any charged glory, but in my experience a fully charged glory gets me more.
I definitely appreciate the pronunciation of "Mike Hawk" as well- really highlights your proper and deliberate enunciation skills. It goes without saying that you'd do the same justice in pronouncing the name of my good friend, Mike Hunt.
The necklace teleport timing has me interested… if you’re teleporting to a city instead of a guild/minigame does it take longer on average because of the amount that needs to load into the chunk? Also is the jewellery box any faster?
Does your run energy % being higher cause you to fall less in the underground pass? I had 90+ run energy before every jump (was only ~50 Agility) and didnt fall once the entire quest.
13:14 you could put this test on further experiement by amassing barrels of coal tar with you, making you +800 kg. or abusing the quest death for dogashuun for the max weigh in the game.
Glad to see the answer to my question! I’ve always wondered! :) I believe that the disease/death rate is not affected by which herb seed you’ve planted, I think you just got really lucky with irit and/or unlucky with Torstol on the first attempt. I guess that could be another myth to test on your Ironman 😄
Concerning the iasor vs attas myth: taking into account that dead herbs can be revived at a 75% success rate with 99 magic and there being protected patches for high lvl seeds, the attas seed is far superior. Planting high lvl seeds into the 3 save patches + catherby (for the diary buff) + low lvl seeds in the non protected patches and reviving them while having an attas seed up is always better than iasor.
Yeah like 1/3 of your herb patches are protected anyway. Atta seed scales more as get a higher level. Iasor is better for lower levels His testing methods aren't exactly the most thorough and a lot of this information can just be found on discord from Mass source information or actual groups doing the testing instead of one person. They his sample size is always going to be just him and a few friends. it's not very big. He easily could have done the same verb test and got opposite results because his sample size is just so small
at 99 with all diaries you gain about 0.55% more herbs per run with Iasor vs Attas. but that ignores that res plant exists and assumes that all plants that get diseased will die. if you catch a diseased plant before it dies or use res plant successfully at least once in every ~180 runs you'll get more from Attas.
Great videos, quality content, thank you! Myth: If you are grinding for defenders in the warriors guild, killing the 3 or 4 ogres by the door, and you hit a draught, going around and killing each and every ogre spawn at least once increases you chances.
For the leaf trap in the forest: yes, it's the same mechanics as the spear traps in PP. If you click on the further tiles it makes you try to walk passed the first part of the trap which will always count as an attempt to "walk passed" the first set of traps on the way to attempt to "jump" the second set which leads to failure.
to anyone yet to do desert treasure, you can just click the minimap when inside and youll never set off any traps, as long as you just click the minimap to get around
13:00 Just re the weight here... Get some coal tar barrels for anything you need to test weight on. One slot. 40 odd kilo. Stack your invent and weigh more than a truck. Thus will help you test with more confidence. Also: Welch's test is a good one to confirm with confidence if you are not sure!
All herb seeds actually have an equal disease rate based on your farming level and compost, so that myth was inaccurately assessed. Also, factoring in the Resurrect Crops spell changes the math significantly
Factoring in immune herb patches does too. Cross-plant expensive seeds in those and cheap, low level seeds in normal patches. As a bonus everything fits in your herb box when harvesting.
I don't think he was suggesting different disease rates but moreso that keeping your high lvl seeds alive more often is a better use of them as you don't get as many
Not sure about factoring in the spell, but my general rule of thumb is if planting rares (ranarr/snapdragon/torstol) in non-diseasable and regulars (toadflax/kwuarm/etc) in diseasable patches, use Attas. If planting rares everywhere, use Iasor.
@@VallianceRS That's also wrong, because at 99 farming the yield is exactly the same for all herbs regardless of their level. If you're below 99, the yield is actually higher the higher the level of the herb is. So in actuality you get more out of Attas on high level herbs than low level ones.
On the DT pyramid one, I dont think the house menu matters! I've done this quest quite a few times and always just use the minimap to move through it and dont think I've ever failed.
Myth: The nodes on the upper level of Motherlode Mine have an immunity window after spawning and can't be depleted for a brief period no matter how many people are mining there. (Saw this on Reddit) Also love the vids Soup, found you through GG and binge watched all your other series. Great presentation style
The one about the Iasor / Attas seeds, this is one I've done the maths on a lot because I used to be a massive farming nerd back in the day. Basically what it comes down to is if you just plant, if it dies dig it up and replant etc, then yes, the extra chance to live makes you more herbs / money However if you go onto the arceus spellbook and use resurrect crop then you will make more herbs (and money) per seed, due to it effectively having an extra life, and therefore dying less often (with high level seeds at 99 farming anyway, because they're expensive, not sure about cheaper seeds)
About the Chaos Ely one: when they had this bug that you could log into a f2p world in a very specific spot next to the east Ardougne mine, you could see there were no NPCs there on the f2p world, no bears, no nothing. Also, I remember that back in the days you could see "pickpocket" option on F2P, so maybe back then the NPCs were there
The reason for the run off while pickpocketing knights is, as I understand it, because when you have a splasher, a missclick with run ON will increase the chance of you running around/under the Knight, causing him to get unstuck from the spot where he wont move at all.
Yo Soup, love the vid! There’s so much untapped potential for a series like this. By the way, what’s that outro song you’ve got playing? It’s a groove.
@@theold1. With a lot of old quests clicking the minimap helps you avoid all traps. In the Lost Tribe for example if you click on the minimap through the tunnels your character will pick the correct pact avoiding failing and having to check the correct way. Same with Desert Treasure, and the "cat" storyline quests when you need to enter the pyramids. I believe there's a few more quests it also works i don't remember which tho.
I believe that for teleport tablets, if you click the teletab on the same where you take damage, the damage is cancelled and you teleport. If you cast a teleport spell this way, you can take damage upon arriving (and even die)
Can you test the “does pickpocketing npcs from behind increase your chances of success” myth again? Last video you said it does, but there didn’t seem to be any mention of it on the wiki and there was a jmod that decomfirmed it a while ago.
The ardy knight thieving myth needs to be busted using a splasher/bank tile. If your run energy is on and you somehow missclick the knight, it will pull the knight out from behind the bank rope and attack the splasher more often than it would if your run energy was off. At least that’s what I’d assume for the myth based on personal experience.
When getting the Angler outfit at Fishing Trawler, your chance is lowered for outfit pieces if you turn the camera sway off. I believe it used to cut the drop rate by half. Unfotubatly they did rework Fishing Trawler relatively recently.
Follow-up: How did you not include Kronos seeds? I've heard people say that because they have the chance to skip growth phases, they're better at reducing the chance of disease than Iasor! Not sure if it's confirmed or myth though. Another follow-up: People just tell you to turn your run off at Knights so that when you miss click, you don't run 10 tiles out of the bank before catching it
When doing tears of guthix is it more points to wait until the current coloured tear has ended and seeing if it remains blue or switching as soon the blue tear ends? (I know you can use osbuddy to help)
you should find a world that follows a pattern of all 3 blues moving, then all 3 green or vice versa (might take a few hops), start on the first blue that spawns, if the blue you're at moves somewhere else instead of repeating then make note of where it went. Fairly often one of the three will move to where you are currently, if not then just click the first one that moved and repeat. It takes some getting the hang of but it will on average increase your points. Search: Best and Most Efficient Method for Tears of Guthix by MrAxMan for a video guide of this on YT.
Hey soup, cool to see you use the myrth I sent, sad you wasted all that time for nothing. I don't know if you can test this myth, but joining the guthix portal in castle wars when the saradomin and zamorak team have an even number, joining the guthix portal will send you to the zamorak team more often then the saradomin team. PS a castle wars battle in Gielinor games could be very fun content
I was doing DT and I failed the pyramid almost immediately, when I remembered seeing this video back when it was first released, but I didn't remember the conclusion , and I'll say, despite it making no logical sense, the house menu thing worked for me, too. It could just be a coincidence, but I doubt it, so thanks for making that section of the quest run smoothly ^_^
The house options thing is funny because back in the day in stealing creating creating if you hopped over the fence and the team was full it would kick you out, however if you pressed house options as you went in it didn't kick out out and at the start of the game everyone was teleported. Making stacking infinitely big teams possible.
mmm, I remember walking to the wilderness fence and wondering what could possibly be behind the fence that incentivised me to beg my parents for membership, got members hopped to a member world went through and got clapped by the chaos elemental in a few hits.. I dont think it was visible from F2P worlds though
Myth: you get less barbarian assault role points if the other people are shooting runners and healers with red/green eggs. It might just be that it takes way longer to shoot them if you have a bad defender/healer. If you run this experiment maybe try to do the shooting round first and then try to hit the same time doing the role legitimately. And make sure to block the cave so no runners get through on either trial :)
Myth: monsters that drop food and potions that are useful for extending trips are more likely to do so if you have a full or mostly full inventory. Some examples that come to mind are Kraken and Demonic Gorillas. Every time I kill Kraken I feel like my first few drops are sharks or edible seaweed so I have to juggle food on the ground to extend my trip. I never get these drops towards the end of my trip when I'm down to my last few pieces of food or completely out.
Myth : you can spawn a random event? (back in 05 there was something, i cant quite remember what, but it involved killing flesh crawlers and then facing a direct and using an emote. and it always spawned) I dont remember the actual part. but... is it?
On Mos Le'Harmless, west of the entrace to Cave Horrors, there is a statue where it seems a Black Mask can be fitted into. I know on Runescape (pre EOC) you would get a message with something like "Something sinister happens far off(...)". I never found out if anything ever happend when doing this. I fooled myself into thinking it would increase my black mask drop rng :)
Myth: The loot from the Rogues Den maze safes rotate clockwise after each attempt, successful or not. I've had 2 accoutns that looted the first safe until the equimemt crate, then went clockwise and received it b2b2b2b. Does the loot actually move in a pattern, or is it random, and I've just been lucky? RSN: xOSRSMobilex
Supposedly, you have a better chance of successfully jumping the pit in the pyramid during Icthlarin’s Little Helper if your hands are empty (that is, nothing equipped in your weapon or shield slot). Is this true at all?
It does recommend free hands on the wiki, so I’d imagine there is some truth to it. It took me foreverrrr to get over that stupid pit. I finally went and bought Ag & Stam pots after failing it like 14+ times. 😂
I wish i had my old videos, but I also remember seeing the chaos elly and hellhounds past the gate in F2P before the OSRS / RS3 split. I even remember wanting membership to go there and that being the first thing I tried doing.
Does it take longer to mine sulfur in the Lovakengj mine while safe spotting with the spider? Or normal mining? It seems to me like it takes longer to get a full inventory while safe spotting.
5:42 I am not sure if you not aware of the "other way to pronounce it" or not. I know this sort of thing is common enough knowledge but I didn't catch tons of this sort of stuff, mostly because I don't think along those lines most of the time. This is along the same lines as "pen island" on if you say things too fast they sound lewd. Thanks for the video.
The thing with the Ardy knight and the run energy ON is not about you solo pickpocketing him, it's about the same concept as stacking dust devils/nechs/every other npc. In "Thievinghost" cc's world you have a lot of people in the same spot, with the run energy ON you'll move much quicker between the 2 tiles in the bank making him move more often. It's not a myth nor an hearsay, it's purely game mechanics.
Which attack animation is superior? Magic, ranged, or Melee Additionally, do different weapons affect the speed in which you initially fire off an attack?
Here's one I'd love for you to test. I'm chopping magic trees at the woodcutting guild, and I swear that more often than not, when I use the dragon axe special, the tree falls down after about 3 more logs. If I don't use the special, it feels like the tree lasts a lot longer. I'm currently at 79 woodcutting if that makes a difference. Does the special actually make it more likely for the tree to fall?
Regarding the teleport vs tablet section, It looks like your timer rolls over to the next second after .29 seconds. Is it actually counting frames in a 30 frame-per-second recording? If so, isn't it about 2.77 seconds for the spell and the tablet is about 3.53 seconds? Maybe fair to guess that the teleport spell animation takes 4 game ticks (2.4 seconds) and the tablet takes 5 game ticks (3 seconds), and the additional time for each is the wait between when you click the spell//tablet and the start of the next game tick?
Regarding the Ardy Knights and run energy on or off, I've definitely seen a difference when someone with their run energy on gets caught and immediately misclicks away from the knight. They get caught, but their run registers, and the Ardy Knight runs up to hit them when they're three or four tiles away, plowing through any players. I've only seen this happen at the Ardy south bank, though.
If you get around to it I would love to know if pre composting an herb patch or post composting an herb patch has different results. Lot of people do it different and I'm not sure if it would matter.
Myth: Majority of the people watching this series aren’t currently subscribed Or Myth: training strength first is the fastest way to train melee early. Anytime I started a new account, I always heard this and am curious if it’s true
I'm not sure about the teleport tablets vs spells conclusion. Keep in mind everything in runescape is timed by ticks, so unless you click the button exactly on the last 1/60th of a second of a tick, the time will vary. I'd suggest going frame by frame and measuring it from the first frame of the start of the animation, because theoretically that should be the start of the tick
9:22 I really really hope this is not what he actually meant, it's taken out of context. The only relevant scenario to preach "run off" is in multi-player scenarios (mass worlds, usually with a splasher). It has something to do with how having run on makes you a more annoying spazing hitbox that everyone else has to click on while you're stuck inside the pickpocketing animation. When a player's square is on top of another NPC, everyone else has to click on your character instead of the NPC (because it's "hidden" underneath you). As you can imagine, this creates a chaotic chain reaction where everyone else will missclick the Knight as well (because they had to click on you instead, but you are potentially 2 squares away because you had run ON). As a result everyone moves out of the Knight's way allowing the Knight to move where they used to stand. It only really matters in chaotic mass worlds. Even with run off it will still happen but not as much. In solo or small groups it doesn't make a difference. If you're in mass worlds, turn entity hider plugin on to hide players. Turn run off out of kindness to mobile players.
Pretty sure the Ardy knight walking refers to bank trapped knight. When run is left on the player travels two tiles quickly, this is faster than a splasher and the focus of the knight is taken and he gets an opportunity to move as that player "runs" to the bank. IF they walk it happens less often.
HOLY SHIT!!! CAN WE JUST APPRECIATE THAT THIS GUY PRONOUNCED EVERY HERB NAME CORRECTLY!! (or, at least, almost correctly) He didn't say cantadine, he didn't say landatyme, he actually looked at the order of the letters and SAID THEM IN THAT ORDER!!!!!!! Congratulations to SoupRS for being the very first scapetuber, in all of history, to understand how to read properly!!!!!!!! *Waits patiently for him to say ardugoon just to spite me*
I play a UIM and have found 2 items that stay in my inventory on death. Rune Scimitar with Saradomin or Zamorak ornament kit. (Don't have the Guthix one to test) Every time I suicide to Hespori and have it equiped as my weapon. It always stays equipped. Think i've had 1 other death where I kept it, but I’m unsure. I’m really curious as to whether it's just hespori that causes this and if other deaths let you keep it. If I ever get a duplicate I plan to equip it and try for the Earth warrior champion scroll or some wilderness bosses. If I keep it on pvp death I could set my spawn to edgeville and just repeatedly charge in with no worries.
during combat do you land more hits if you click the opponent repeatedly opposed to just letting it auto retaliate? Opponent hits you, but on your turn click them. I’ve noticed it working a couple times during quests w/ bigger monsters like Elvarg or Agrith-Naar but thought maybe it was just luck.
If wearing full graceful and travelling long distances across Gielinor, is it faster to travel if you are constantly moving the entire time (so constant running and walk when out of run energy) or is it faster if you run the whole time and stop in one spot when your energy depletes and then continue running after it recharges? I believe stopping and waiting for run to regenerate is faster because when you stand in one spot with full graceful, your run energy recharges much faster than normal.
For the item collection of the giant dwarf quest; if you do it too often you will get reset :) I did so on the bar collecting section and I had to go back to the ore collection part..
I can 100% confirm in the last month someone was helping a few of us new players get this cosmetic armor by doing these cryptic clues. we kept dying at the step at the elder chaos druids and they realized we could go to a non members world to avoid them. as we spawned into it we saw the elder chaos druids but they 1 by one vanished. something does seem to cause it partway through typing this I realized that what client you are using might actually be the root of this myth, as the HDOS client does try to display far away enemies and NPCs and doesn't actually update their real location until you get close. maybe the entire root of this myth is people on HDOS, or maybe a similar runelite plugin, that lets them see things that arent there from a distance. who knows!
Often when I'm harvesting herbs I notice that the patch depletes just as my last inventory space is filled up, do herb patches actually have a bigger chance to deplete on your last inventory slot or is this a myth? Does magic bonus affect hit rates on non-combat targets like implings when using snare etc?

Is it faster to take the Draynor Shortcut (post AD) towards Port Sarim or running around manually.
Thanx Goat 🐐
Thanks babe
I've actually been thinking this guite a few times. Feels like the animation for the shortcut takes so long that running around would be just as fast
@@Hippimanni but the good thing is you won’t use run stamina using the shortcut :)
Definitely faster to take the shortcut… at least it was during one of the first DMM

It still doesn't make a difference. The player doesn't even enter a run state when moving 1 tile.
If factoring in a wily cat, no way!
@@user-kk4bq7mb8u Wily cats are amazing in the behemoth rooms. But given that wily cats will also kill regular hellrats much faster, I think the answer isn't obvious 🤔
I use to feel this way until I got a wily cat
This one would take a LOT of testing, RNG being the cruel mistress that it is. I've gone an entire half hour before without seeing any orange spice.

Woah :o
Its deffinitely plausable though i always thought it was running vs walking, anytime i run i dont make it past 2nd floor but walking i can clear it
This same thing but with underground pass agility checks aswell
I've done DT on 4 different accounts with various agility levels and I've never fallen... I didn't even know it was possible until I was watching some ironman progress vid years ago lol
The ardy knight run energy off is useful when people are splashing and there's a lot of people stacked without entity hider on.
Why do people even do that splash method, isnt the other spot shown in this video better?
@@theold1. with the splash method the knight moves less often.
@@joshuapate6159 If you have the right camera angle, it doesn't matter if he moves in the marketplace house spot.
Still a myth
I thought it wasn't that having run off makes it move less, but that the knight will sometimes move toward a player, and if a player has run on, if they misclick and run away from the knight, it can drag the knight farther away from the original tile than if they're walking, simply because the player is moving away at a faster rate
This only affects the splashing areas, and not the marketplace area
One other variable with the attas VS iasor seeds. Both start the moment they are planted, therefore theoretically the attas would have a slight time advantage, because you could have a run of fully grown herbs, plant it, immediately reap the benefits and immediately plant your second run. Whereas the iasor, to gain the full benefit, would need to be planted either before planting or directly after planting the herbs, to ensure that that FIRST run of herbs gains the benefits from it. Not sure how much this would skew the data, but definitely a consideration.
I still think attas is better because of crop resurrection
@@Sirliam95 yeah definitely for high value herbs that are worth the runes
In reference to the Ardy knight pickpocketing I'm almost sure he means in reference to when someone is splashing on the knight and the knight generally doesn't move but will spaz out sometimes to what some people claim is having the run energy on
That's the myth I've heard before, but it doesn't seem to be what the two comments were about. The flickering is certainly related to people failing -> thieving CCs will gather in 95+ areas where no one fails and the knight never flickers
just hide other players via RuneLite's entity hider and he won't ever flicker.
Definitely not true.

I don't know if this is a myth but I've always wondered if newly respawned trees have fewer logs than old ones.
i can solve this one for you, nope. the tree doesn't contain the amount of logs, each time you cut a log, there's a 1/8 chance it falls down, exceptions are for single use trees and for redwood which is 1/11
You'd know that if you spend more than 10 minutes cutting willows lol

Shit that ain't a myth that's just logic.
Iasor is better for lower levels
His testing methods aren't exactly the most thorough and a lot of this information can just be found on discord from Mass source information or actual groups doing the testing instead of one person.
They his sample size is always going to be just him and a few friends. it's not very big. He easily could have done the same verb test and got opposite results because his sample size is just so small
Less efficient if you calculate my probability of forgetting shit on my farm runs.
at 99 with all diaries you gain about 0.55% more herbs per run with Iasor vs Attas. but that ignores that res plant exists and assumes that all plants that get diseased will die.
if you catch a diseased plant before it dies or use res plant successfully at least once in every ~180 runs you'll get more from Attas.

Rendi covered this in a video a super long time ago. Can't even remember which acc - I think potato only

I've done this quest quite a few times and always just use the minimap to move through it and dont think I've ever failed.
the disease chance doesn't change depending the tier of seed you use
Myth: The nodes on the upper level of Motherlode Mine have an immunity window after spawning and can't be depleted for a brief period no matter how many people are mining there. (Saw this on Reddit)
Also love the vids Soup, found you through GG and binge watched all your other series. Great presentation style
The one about the Iasor / Attas seeds, this is one I've done the maths on a lot because I used to be a massive farming nerd back in the day.
Basically what it comes down to is if you just plant, if it dies dig it up and replant etc, then yes, the extra chance to live makes you more herbs / money
However if you go onto the arceus spellbook and use resurrect crop then you will make more herbs (and money) per seed, due to it effectively having an extra life, and therefore dying less often
(with high level seeds at 99 farming anyway, because they're expensive, not sure about cheaper seeds)
Thanks for testing that out, surprised to see it's quest based.
About the Chaos Ely one: when they had this bug that you could log into a f2p world in a very specific spot next to the east Ardougne mine, you could see there were no NPCs there on the f2p world, no bears, no nothing.
Also, I remember that back in the days you could see "pickpocket" option on F2P, so maybe back then the NPCs were there
Soup I’m so happy your evolving in to your final form . Your videos are setting the bar so high for the whole community.
A Little too high... 🤔🤔🤔
The reason for the run off while pickpocketing knights is, as I understand it, because when you have a splasher, a missclick with run ON will increase the chance of you running around/under the Knight, causing him to get unstuck from the spot where he wont move at all.
sometimes when you kill someone after they just fought, someone else gets the loot. Can you use an alt to get your own loot key?

By the way, what’s that outro song you’ve got playing? It’s a groove.
the desert treasure one is the fact you are clicking the minimap nothing else
?
I didn't even know the desert treasure trap doors were a thing. After completing the quest 5 times total now, I've never fallen I'm one
Same but 4 times, people have said using the minimap to move means you won't fall, which makes sense because that's how I get around lol
Yea I think the spot was wrong in the video. Why do people use the bank spots though anyway?

It might just be that it takes way longer to shoot them if you have a bad defender/healer. If you run this experiment maybe try to do the shooting round first and then try to hit the same time doing the role legitimately. And make sure to block the cave so no runners get through on either trial :)

Magic, ranged, or Melee
Additionally, do different weapons affect the speed in which you initially fire off an attack?
Here's one I'd love for you to test. I'm chopping magic trees at the woodcutting guild, and I swear that more often than not, when I use the dragon axe special, the tree falls down after about 3 more logs. If I don't use the special, it feels like the tree lasts a lot longer. I'm currently at 79 woodcutting if that makes a difference. Does the special actually make it more likely for the tree to fall?
Are allotment/cactus patches affected by composting? In addition, do you get more harvests with secateurs, farming cape, and atta seed?
Do the magic secateurs add the bonus from the first picking of the herbs or is it rolled on each pick

does it give you more exp to run between the fruit stalls in hosidious or is it the same as just standing at 1 of them and clicking on it.
I think I remember seeing members stuff in f2p many years ago
I used to think Iasor seed was awesome but then I started using the Arc spellbook for rez with attas seeds and it's definitely more income.
Pretty sure the Ardy knight walking refers to bank trapped knight. When run is left on the player travels two tiles quickly, this is faster than a splasher and the focus of the knight is taken and he gets an opportunity to move as that player "runs" to the bank. IF they walk it happens less often.
Is there a delay when using the orb for special attack vs. using the regular attack bar option?

If wearing full graceful and travelling long distances across Gielinor, is it faster to travel if you are constantly moving the entire time (so constant running and walk when out of run energy) or is it faster if you run the whole time and stop in one spot when your energy depletes and then continue running after it recharges? I believe stopping and waiting for run to regenerate is faster because when you stand in one spot with full graceful, your run energy recharges much faster than normal.
