14:31 "Ah, you seem quite capable, mage."
Two "You died." lines in the chat xD
Kalec: too busy to come with you, but I CAN magic-Skype with you most of the way through.
The angry little eyebrows on Aluneth... best part of the video
"Ahh well, they may be able to control his power, but they can't force him to shut up."
I died laughing at that haha. Love your videos Nobbs, always have. Keep up the awesome work as always.
"Azeroth is filled with legendary relics and artifacts but none can compare to [insert artifact weapon name here]"
h heavies no
.
yep. pretty much greatest [insert classname here]
Alannah Munro good thing 2/3 warlock weapons don't come from Azeroth ;) Scepter of Sargaras ftw
+Chomplet King
Actually, none of the lock weapon come from Azeroth hehe.
Thank you so much for providing proper subtitles those auto generated ones are more annoying than useful
Lol Azuregos is totally same voice actor as Reinhardt. Realized at the laugh, but now can't unhear it even on his casual dialogue.
ahhh that nostalgia.. Northrend will always be my favorite zone ^_^
btw at 13:49, I love that dragon so much
Continent* Get it right you noob.
Genji LUL whatever.. feelsbadman
No wutever, u need to get it right
Lol who would have known that the Disc priest artifact quest is almost exactly the same as the Arcane mage artifact quest. Like some other quests are similar. But this is copy paste.
Your life is a copy and paste.
I was wondering why there were so many mages when I was doing the quest for Light's Wrath
I wound up doing the Disc Priest version first and thought it was odd yet interesting that I was sent to the Nexus. But then I did Arcane mage which made a lot more sense with the Nexus and I felt gypped. Even the quest text says mostly the same thing for each, just replace Aluneth with Light's Wrath
buldren0101
Now I feel played. Light's wrath being in the Nexus really didn't make sense...since it's a weapon of light and dark.
demonangel918 I mean I kinda see what they were going for since the ethereals we fought were harnessing Void energy which is part of what a Disc Priest does, but there was just a total lack of effort in making it at least a little different.
Lovely video Nobbel. I think a lot of people are appreciating being able to access these snippets of lore without having to reroll. Keep up the good work mate :)
I'm not ur m8
i got to say, that is one sassy etheral, i like him!
Either Blizzard, someone at wowpedia or Nobbel is very, *very* fond of the word "countless". :P
it really sucks that they made multiple artifacts have the exact same story.. this is literally a carbon copy of Light's Wrath for the Discipline Priest.
Since we're talking Arcane magic here, it's more that Light's Wrath is a copy of this.
lol I was wondering why it looked familiar and I didn't get that mage artifact.
I Like that the valts of powerful artifacts has alot of powerful artifacts, i just wish there was a few more stories.
Oh, and "literally" a carbon copy? No. That's not what literally means, you buffoon.
The mage staff makes *sense* in the vaults. The Light's Wrath staff is light, so in a place like the Nexus Vault, it makes no sense. So, we assume the mage staff was the original, and the Light's Wrath wasn't. Thus, copy. Not the staff itself, just the questline. And yes, the questline is literally a carbon copy.
Aluneth reminds me on the Skull of the Man'ari (Thal'kiel) artifact for demonology warlocks
Azuregos is voiced by Darin De Paul and he's incredible. One of my favorites. He also does the voice of Reinhardt and many other Blizzard characters. :)
I really like these sentient artifact weapons. Sort of wish there were more but understand why there aren't at the same time
Great video as always, thanks for teaching me so much over the years :)
I really liked the little touch about Atiesh in the story, since all the art of her has her with that staff instead of Aluneth. And I *really* liked the callback to the Ethereum and blue dragonflight alliance from one single quest in Wrath which we never saw followed up.
So do I and I don't care
The moment you realize that since Aluneth was Agewynn's 1st choice; she'd have beaten the Avatar faster; and probobly not been corrupted if it hadn't been so prissy about working with her.
Then you realize no Agewynn corruption = no Medheiv corruption = no dark portal = no WoW.
Aluneth is literally responsible for WoW existing. That's how lore-critical the thing is.
Also; perhaps no massive Legion invasion using the tomb if the Avatar was obliterated by Aluneth as Agewynn intended. Which means no Legion. Which means Sargeras gets to make his Dark Pantheon and everyone loses. Also; no Sargeras stabbing his sword into Azeroth and needing to be absorbed by Aluneth; which will almost certainly kill him since he's Arcane absorbing Fel.
Aluneth is the best thing in wow, he is sarcastic and badass.
Also voice by mathew mercer, which is always a plus
Aluneth the staff of trolling.
i think all classes has that running gag weapon, like the blood dk "maw of the yondere" lol, well mabye not all but some
troll weapon? how is the maw a troll weapon?
Shroom1Up not troll as in race, but troll as in it has trolly lore aka the guy stuck in the axe thats a yondere of kil'jaeden.
***** i know but how is that trollish?
Shroom1Up because its more of a gag weapon, which is trollish, idk how to really explain it but its still a running gag joke on those weapons
There was like a line, a single line, that said, oh, take the scrolls, they might be useful. Or somthing. And god, the quest was a pain in the ass! Took me two tries, and a whole lotta gold.
Reinhardt and McCree in one questline. Perfect.
20:06 I sounds like Illidan's voice, yelling "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!
It even sounds like Illidan talking around 20:20 :)
Nobbel, if I'm not mistaken (Aluneth was the first of the artifacts I picked and my memory isn't what it used to be), Meryl gives us the scrolls in the very beginning of the questline, when he sends us to talk to Kalec.
Oh hey, time travel. Thank you Chromie Time... Now to learn about my staff. Thank you Noobel
It was either Meryl or Kalek who gave you the scrolls.something about them being the ones Aegwynn used when studying the staff and there being a chance that the ritual to bind Aluneth to the staff was in those scrolls.
Honestly I wish Aluneth talked more when I was lvling my mage
Damn it! Azuregos x Spirit Healer was my ship! Why did Blizz have to sink it! WHY!?
I wish this quest line went like this.
the staff wasn't handed over, because anyone who knows Aegwynn, retcon or not, she would never had given the Kirin Tor anything... least her staff. She would had kept it during her exodus into the world. Eventually she would had trusted it to Jaina... since she was Jaina friend and sort of mentor. The Kirin Tor would be cool since Jaina was a middle ground. Jaina being a responsible mage ( pre mana bomb) would had studied the staff and kept it in a warded vault within her tower in Theramore.
that my friends is when the story starts. I'll try be brief. you select Artifact, Khadgar tells you that last person who knows of it is Jaina. he tells you to check Dustwallow marsh to see if Jaina has gone there. if you are alliance, Jaina will apologize her brash behavior when she left the Kirin Tor and Anduin saying she has lost so much so fast. If you Horde, shell attack you. regardless Kalecgos fly's in to interrupt. He begs her to return or to help... she says no. He ask about their relationship, shell say it was never meant to be. ( concluding what we all wanted know between them two).
if you are Horde Jaina teleport away and Kalecgos helps you go to the ruins of Theramore. If you are Alliance Jaina helps and Kalecgos returns to Dalaran.
you go to the crater and find the Legion corrupting the remnants essence from the Mana Bomb into fel portals to summon a army to sack Orgrimmar. you disrupt the portals, and you see a Fel Loyal warlock wielding and attempting to corrupt the staff. you face off against them, and lay claim to the staff.
If Jaina is with you, she'll say that perhaps she is acting brash, but she can't return yet. she'll find her own way back, but first she needs to find herself again.
Kalecgos will congrats you and than remark about how he hopes Jaina will find peace eventually.
I think this will revisit Theramore, and Allow very unique dialogue... since these two was at Theramore when it got nuked, and that incident held heavy in their hearts for a long time. would explain some what where and what Jaina is doing. it's more in line with the lore. Will finally explain, confirm, and bring a end to Jaina and Kalecgos love affair.
sorry for the grammar did this off my dying phone.. and kinda off top of my head
I don't know about that. I mean, she only distrusted the Council because of her corruption. Since the corruption passed out of her and to her son, she should have regained clarity and realized that the safest hands for her most powerful weapon, outside of her own, was in responisble mages like that of the Kirin Tor.
Lentro Zenol she didn't trust them before either. They always thought they could control her... which is something The Kirin Tor wanted for a long time with a over powered mage that the guardians were. plus she didn't rejoin the Kirin Tor after everything was said and done with Medihv. she only came out of her self imposed exile when meeting Jaina. In my opinion, she would had trusted Jaina with it. Plus the Artifact could had gained even more arcane potency. surviving the mana bomb. In my opinion it is more satisfying story than a cut and past of Discipline Priest quest. That artifact in the Nexus makes more sense. it was a deadly weapon in the hands of religious fanatics... would make sense for the Blue Dragonflight to take possession of that weapon.
furthermore Blues and Kirin Tor never had a good relationship before the Nexus War. . . following let's just say both were barely civil with each other.
I also kinda find it weird that the Kirin Tor didn't feel safe for these two artifacts to be in Dalaran vaults.... but the Focusing Iris ... a artifact with immeasurable power is just fine and dandy to have in Dalaran lol
Fairly certain Aegwynn was before Jaina's time, considering Medivh is older than Jaina and Aegwynn is Medivh's mother. Don't know where you got Jaina being friends with Aegwynn from, but. And she would never forgive the Horde for what they did, considering they took away one of the last things she ever had. Now Kalec is the only thing left for her, and she's probably raving mad with how lonely she is.
Aaah, to wake up to a "Hello Everyone"
You spoil me too much Nobbel!
I just had an idea... You know what a cool new class would be? Something akin to Dragonkin/spawn. Open to various races, with dragonkin/spawn being a combat-form similar to how Worgen transform, maybe? (Except for a class and not a race - would make Worgen impossible for this class though) The different specs could be attunement to different Dragonflights. They could have an instanced version of Dragonblight or something as a starting experience, and gaining their "class" as a reward for helping out the Dragonflights now that their power is waning. Eh, Just an idea.
I mean, not too far off for a 7 year old guess lmao
@@ate_my_wheaties woah, Holy shit! Lol
TFW you're an archmage of the arcane, but a blue lizard has to explain everything to you because you're mute.
Nice to see Grimoire Weiss is still grumpy as ever, even as a staff with a different name.
the undead dude in the class hall that you pick which weapon you want to get gives you the scrolls when you pick the quest for aluneth
really good job with the eyebrows nobbel :D
I love Azuregos's voice actor. So much.
About damn time you did Aluneth!
who els lol'd at the end when he said "you might control the weapon but you cant force him to shut up" because i did
I just got my allied race nightborne and made him an arcane mage so this helps and intrigues me!
Aluneth is such a smartass sassy staff :"(
But its suggestions for destroying Dalaran is....tempting. I wish I could do it.
the Voice of Matthew makes this weapon what it is.
I've been waiting for this.....
You just HAD to use THAT picture of Medivh.
"though you may be able to wield its power, you cannot force it to shut up"
does any one else get sad when he says "that's a story for another time" or "today we gona end it here" im like nooo nobby...keep telling me more stories.I tell u, nobbel's grandkids are gona be so lucky, they gona hear tales about this amazing world called azeroth for their bed time stories.
Could it be that the voiceactor for Azuregos is the same as for Reinhardt?
How about you look it up before u comment
Nope. But it is the voice of McCree.
@Nobble87... where did you get that awesome picture of Kara at 11:40? Thank you!
If the fire mage weapon hadn't been Felo'melorn, I would have boosted a human arcane mage for Legion. Aluneth looks cool and the quest looks fun.
azuregosa is adorable
Ugly as fuck.
"Mind your language."
Kristof Urbin Don't correct me, Im the teacher here
Is it just me or does he share the same voice actor as Reinheardt?
What makes you wake up in the night? Nobbels sexy voice
Genji if that makes me addicted to Nobbels voice - yus:з
Eren Dreemurr k
idm Matthew Mercer talking to me thoughout the game, but its get's so tiring listening to him yell at me about pudding.
When I saw that sword stuck in that Mage, I thought Lilian Voss was back. Disappointed when it was just some random Ethereals.
Dont worry Nobbel I tried to pick it up at first too, though it was bugged for me so the scrolls never showed up :P
So after WoTLK the Blue Dragonflight was like: "SO we are hiding in the Nexus this super-powerful weapon that belonged to a guardian. You what would be a GREAT idea? TO abandon this place with the weapon STILL INSIDE AS IF NOTHING BAD WILL EVER HAPPEN!"
If the story of Med'an is no longer cannon does that mean that Aegwynn might still be alive?
yay finally covering my artifact!
kinda sad that there are some artifacts with essentially the same story with minute differences. I felt so awesome getting my staff until I went to my priest alt and got to go do the same quest.
Kirin Tor: Yeah nah fuck this ridiculously powerful thing. Malygos, you deal with this arcane shenanigry.
Malygos: K fam. I gotchu. *puts it with Light's Heart is das Uber Vault*
10:05 serious brow game on Aluneth tho
I didn't remember picking up the scrolls either? Can anyone fill me in on when we did?
Thanks for the help n story telling
they say that if you're very quiet and listen well... you can hear Nobbel commenting on you... or so the legend goes.
You are the first person to comment on this vid, and I am the first person to comment on the first comment, we both deserve a reward, yet we dont get anthing. thx Obama
Just rumors!
Pickle Jaar No
I know literally nothing about the Mage OH story. I know they have Meryl Felstorm, but that's about all. Is it any good? Why no people put up videos of it? Is Jaina present?
You know Maybe dragons can become a playable race. After all, dragons are now mortal and we have seen them be multiple classes. There are plenty of ways they could work in as part of either the alliance or the horde as simply being able to choose what race to look like and in their dragon forms being very small like wrathion as they are very young dragons and perhaps being able to get bigger, but not full size as other dragon npc's as that takes a very long time, but they still grow over time. One way it could work is the color of your dragon reflects the flight it would have belonged to and what classes you can be. Like for instance, green dragons can be druids or shamans and other classes, while say blue ones can be mages and priests and so on for other colored dragons. It honestly could work and would be interesting to see.
Nobbel have you seen an owl which seems to be powered by the fell in Outlands up top over the horde base near Allerian hold. (alliance)
Azuregos reminds me a bit of Reinhard from Overwatch .. is it the same Voiceactor ?
Nobbel what do you think of mages? I think they're too squishy.
So does any other spec have their artifact in there as well other than disc priests?
No.
Ebonarm yes. balance druid and unholy death knight are also identical. very minor differences but begin and end exactly the same.
Holy too
When will you make a timeline video telling us in what order all these events happen?
This is the second time we fight a "void" like creature. Both times ethereum beings were involved.
same as disc priest...
No
Frostmourne hungers and Aluneth thirsts.
why not all artefacts in the nexus walts/karazan tower together in 1 video?^^
multiple questions that pops up during the lore background history.
the first mages of azeroth and the blue dragons, where they close enough like student and teacher? if they were then how come if the dragons r masters of magic can not contain and use such powers as this arcane entity to thier will?
another question is, if Aegwyn confronted Sargares inside Medivh why is it in lore brushed off so casually and to little to no importance... was her defeat from her son so damn horrible that they dont flesh out the lore out? or is it because the lore is so new that they didnt think much of it? makes u think if the battle between mother and son had any significant at all that it was a turning point for finally putting the nail of the story of summoning the orcs into azeroth. at least, let the lore build up and connect it to the "new" movie part where the old lady tells Kadghar in that black box scene that Medivh is not Medivh...
MFW Azuregos uses an old ability from vanilla on the Echo of Aluneth :D
What would Aluneth say when he meeting with his old enemy in The Tomb of Sargeras, I wonder
Is Azuregos the voice actor for reinhardt??
Yes hmm... Aluneth really DID play a CRITICAL ROLE... (ah the coincidence!)
I was so sad that the spirit healer was not mentioned again, I shiped them
Matthew Mercer voiced Aluneth! :oD
Hmm, watching this makes me wonder if the dragons do have a potential of being a new hero class. Start up a character and you awake in Nefarians Lair, a small whelp hatching from an egg being experimented upon by Nefarian's cronies. You grow older and a voice tells you that you're one of a clutch of successful Chromatic dragonflight eggs.
You master some basic abilities then discover the Lair is under attack by the Alliance and Horde. That voice has stayed with you all these years, whispering encouragement to break free of Nefarian's grasp and tells you that this is your chance. You choose which faction to side with and shapeshift to camouflage yourself as a member of the raid. You help kill the Black dragon, your Chromatic nature allows you to access the innate abilities of each of the flights; Black dragon lore allows you to tank, Red/Green dragon lore allows you to heal and Blue/Bronze lore allows you to be a dps caster.
After the battle the voice tells you to slip away. You and the other Chromatics stay in touch over the years and stay in the shadows, within their factions but after the events of Legion you decide you can't hide any longer and reveal yourself to Anduin/Sylvanas, pledging publicly your loyalty in the fights ahead.
Legather that's actually pretty dope! much like the Demonhunter Class, born and involved in a raid?
Legather I assume, given the nature of the class, in game canon there is only one such character (I.E. the player)? because you know... dragons being almost extinct. ooooh or the mark of a new generation of dragonflights? order hall campaign involving becoming an Aspect?! :O
I wouldn't say only one canon character could exist but definitely few. Like with the Illidari; there were few who survived the training to make it to be Illidari and carry out Illidan's order then subsequently get captured by Maiev. Technically there are only a small number of these guys yet we see thousands of DH PCs.
The same would be of this concept. Only a few eggs thrived and hatched, only a few managed to reach maturity. Maybe even less survived out in the wild while Azeroth had its many battles. Because of their artificial nature, being the products of experimentation by Nefarian, they might be affected less by the general weakening of the main Dragonflights. In any case, a weakened dragon brings the character down to player levels of power rather than the supernatural powerhouses they were before.
And so here we find ourselves, the Chromatic survivors. Though few in number canonically, maybe only a dozen or so, that of course allows for players to play as a draconic hero class and get the same feeling of 'exclusivity' that you might feel as one of the few but proud Illidari or DKs of the Ebon Blade.
Legather I like it! ooooh and you can play a sequence as your ancestors when they fight the giant protodragon!
Which video did Nobel goes deep into the nexus war?
6:35 those eyes though
11:43
9 draws in three turns ... *lit
dude 1 minute PogChamp
No
I kind of agree with him, why go to dalaran when I can just walk into argus.
I did not expect Matthew Mercer.
the mage artifacts seem cool I might make one
Create one*
Hey, which skill is that Arcane form? (8:52)
It's not a spell. When you collect the arcane power for the quest your character become arcane charged and look like this.
Oh, indeed. I forgot! Thank you!
I think we should have it, like Combustion. u.u
Yep. Like your spells cost no mana and your mastery is inceresed by X%. Whould be awesome.
Azureagos sounds like reinhardt, right?
Thanks for great job
I didn't do a job, neither did he.
yeah you did
This is basicly the same quest as the lights wrath artifact for the disc priest.
WHAT relationship with the spirit healer?????
Not gonna lie I kinda want Aluneth so I can have Matt Mercer yelling at me all the time
Rofl just switch out arcane mage with disc priest and reupload this video rofl
"No one ordinary mage can wield this staff"(every arcan mage has it)
You have to pretend there are no other mages. The focal point of Legion is more single-player lore-wise, you're the MIP of your class hall.
Arcane is the least popular spec, so they can't be ordinary. 🤷
Spoiler warning, The disc priest artifact quest is identical to this and I mean identical.
Oh thank you! i was getting so confused. i thought i saw this before already but hadn't played my mage in legion yet.
Thanks. I was confused myself as well, I was trying to remember where I saw this video but I had already done this quest on my priest.
Yeah, the end [point is slightly different as you have a fight with the artifact while taming it.
At the beginning they even forgot to change the priest to mage, it was funny how everyone was talking to me like i was a priest.
Even the final phase?
Me: Hello Aluneth, what do you want to do tonight?
Aluneth: The same thing we do every night, Yeilen, try to destroy Dalaran!
Me: OOOKAY ................
KHADGAR!!!!!
is it just me or Nobbel started making a lot of jokes in his latest videos :D
Reindhart is Azuregos Confirmed.
I want to actually talk to agewynn she's my favourite character in the lore!
