Ha Ha Ha funny start to this awesome video, you are soo good at these cooking videos, great instructions easy to follow along with some comedy. It's been a while since I have followed any youtube channels due to work, but the last few days I have spent all day trying to catch up on my favorite channels, and this is certainly one of my favorites.
Hello Ry........I used your Jerk Chicken recipe this past weekend.
After cutting up the bird, I marinated it for about 18 hours. I varied the cook from your method, using my new SNS rather than the vortex. ( just got the SNS and I’m familiarizing myself with it.)
I did use digital temp probes on the grill surface and in the breast.
My wife and I concluded the finished bird might just be the best chicken we‘ve EVER eaten. Even the leftovers, served cold, were beyond wonderful.
Once this Covid nightmare is behind us, this will be a wonderful treat to serve friends and family.
Thanks for this!!
Awesome! Nothing wrong with using that SnS :)
I make jerk chicken thighs all the time. I am definitely going to try this recipe! You seem to keep posting all the goodies that I like! Thank you so much for your video's!
So glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Looks awesome...You are obviously very skilled on the grill.. Next time try a sweet smoke like Apple Wood and you will be even more amazed.
I couldn't ask for a more exact video to match my grill set up. Thank you sir. Looks great.
That Chicken was a real jerk... Another great cook Ry!
He leaned his lesson :)
I’ve been wanting to make this. Definitely going to try your recipe!
Great intro! Reminds me of early 2000s Alton Brown's "Good Eats"
Haha! Thanks :)
Great looking stuff. And you’re right, there are hundreds of jerk chicken recipes out there. But this looks like a really good one. It’s inspired me to upload my version sometime soon. Great video!
Awesome! Thanks :)
LOL, I cant wait try this color looked pretty ,,, everything looked so nice and juicy thanks for sharing
Yeah I was very pleased with the results :)
LOL. Your intro made me laugh so hard! Nice work, Ry!
Thanks :)
Now that's what I call jerk chicken, I've seen several recipes on UA-cam but they tend to leave out the heat... I'm digging your recipe though, I love heat in my foods... Thanks for sharing👍👍
Ry, what I like about your channel is I love watching your videos even if I won’t eat it. ( I hate jerk spice) Best rub for chicken I think, is cavenders.
I've used Cavenders and it's really good. I say go for what you like the best :)
Spritz with a Red Stripe and you’re in Jamaica! Looks great Ry.
Thanks!
I'm gonna have to try this recipe. Looks super tasty!
And I agree, that chicken was being a total jerk! :D
His attitude was fowl. Yes, I actually just said that :)
Great cook Ry!! Love the channel man.
Thank you! I appreciate that :)
This recipe sounds like one I use to get from a Mom & Pop Jamaican restaurant when I was living in Atlanta.
It was served over a Jasmine rice that was seasoned with milder seasoned and had some raisins and another dried fruit. I never could figure out what she put in the dish.
When I asked her about the jerk seasoning she just said that every family had their own recipe.
Thanks for this recipe. Going to have to try it. I wonder what it would taste like with a touch of the olive wood when cooking it... Hummmm. :)
I've heard that people use pimento wood when making jerk chicken, so Olive might be interesting :)
Cooking With Ry - Never heard of using pimento. Never even thought of it either. Interesting... Hummm.
HAHA! Loved your intro Ry!
You sure showed that chick what’s up!
Looked delicious bro!
Thanks for the recipe! I’m going to try that!
Cheers!
Thanks!
Looks good, I think this will be coming up this week for a dinner.
It's a great mix of flavors :)
That look so good. Going to try that.
Thanks! It’s a great one to try :)
Loved the intro Ry 😂
Great cook!
Thank you!
That jerk chicken looks really tasty. Funny intro.
Thanks! It was fun to have a little fun :)
That marinade impressed me Ry I'm so making that! I did pickle brine hickory smoked chicken thighs the brine is interesting and possibly one of favorites. Maybe you could do something like that when you make your smoked egg video?
Pickle brine does sound interesting :)
jerk chicken is the best. in jamaica they smoke it using the bark of allspice trees, so maybe you can make a smoke from the allspice powder to achieve that effect? it looks great, thanks!
That's also called pimento, right? I'd love to try it with the traditional wood :)
That looked good buddy, love a bit of BBQ'd chicken. Did something very similar the other day but with more of an Indian twist! More like a Tandoori Madras chicken! Very tasty, very sweet, even if I say so my self.🧐
Indian spices are awesome on chicken :)
Lol, loved the intro.
Thanks!
The past few weeks I've been searching all over for a delicious looking jerk recipe. Go figure you'd be the one I'm definitely going to try.
Would it be any different for pork?
The same for pork. I'm going to use it on that in a few weeks :)
Can you leave out the peppers if you are sensitive to heat or reduce them?
Absolutely.
I'm curious. Have you had an issue with rust after cutting your probe wire slots in the Kettle?
I haven't, but my kettle stays out of the elements under a covered patio when I'm not using it :)
Hey Ry!!! I'm curious, I'm in the market for a weber kettle and am very curious about the model you use? I'd love to get one with the built in thermometer.
I have the 22" Weber Kettle Premium and just ordered a 22" Weber Kettle Master Touch :)
Hilarious intro !
Thanks :)
Cooking With Ry also, not sure if you do alot of jerk meals...,but i order the pimento leaves from pimentowood.com in Minnesota. Place them in a water bath and it takes your jerk to the next level. Good cook! 👍
that chicken was a jerk!! lol!! i want to do jerk. i want to try that marinade!! great cook!!
Thanks!
Hi Ry, your 'bad ass' side is really coming out in this vid. I was fully expecting you to throw the chicken in the blender and set it to "jerk chop" just to send a message to the other chickens. really, I did. =)
'Now we're going to puree the chicken...' LOL
cinnamon is a big part of jerk. what you have plus cinnamon try that RY its good may need 2 more peppers . every thing else is spot on. im gonna try yours though to be fair.
I'm not a big cinnamon fan which is why I left that out of mine. Just a personal preference :)
Fantastic Inro RY lolololol
You think this marinade would work on pork “country style” ribs?
Sure would. There are jerk pork recipes for chops and loin, and if you do some low and slow on the ribs, this seasoning would really accent it :)
Obviously that chicken has been married a long time...
it looks good but I bet its hot.lol
Wasn't bad at all. Sorta 'medium' on the heat scale :)
