Yeah I learned a lot from Ben while doing the videos with him. This all started because I was asking Ben so many questions about engines 🤣 So we came up with an idea to do the build. Then P3 Tuning came in to help us with the Dyno and bike set up, to extract as much as we can from it. Been good fun doing it all. Still a bit left to do yet. 👍
After all the hype I had to have one. Didnt disappoint and loads of fun. Not quite as quick as a gpz500 but def a better overall package. Looking forward to the build.
Looking forward to this 👍 Took my cb500 99 30k from Morecambe to Tavullia,Italy last September. Stelvio, grimsel, furka and other passes on the way back. Bike never missed a beat 👌
Hi, great video. I am super hyped about the next episodes, because i am fighting for years with the carb setup of my cb500s. Have tried everything possible, even different needles, shims, all jet combinations you can think of, different exhausts, different air filters, air boxes and everything else.... but the rich afr values of around 10,5-12 between 5000 and 6000 rpm remain. Only when accelerating with full throttle. But just crusing around or using full throttle on the autobahn is perfect
Hey cheers for the comment. Yeah I can imagine they are not easy to set up, to get the best out of them. I will ask P3 Tuning when I'm there, what is a good set up for the carbs. 👍
Thanks man.. i am especially interested in how to get rid of that flat spot ;) . The cb-500 guys from the netherlands recommended putting fireblade carbs into the cb500, and i already have them lying around here. But first i would like to optimize the original carbs, before getting more and different problems :)
@@timinitimson5470 I have a set of fireblade carbs to put into it. So I'll let you know how that goes if we manage to get it working. You have to split them and respace them. I've seen a few do it, so it can be done, just figuring it all out. I'll try show it on the videos when we get to the Dyno. 👍
I recently stumbled across the effect of the "needle jet". Maybe this magical part has the answer to all of my questions. I am curious if your tuner touches this part or if he can get the tuning right by just changing the needle and main-/pilot jets.
Looking good! Your last videos help me rebuild my front end. I have an engine built by Ben but not had chance to fit it due to family commitments (CBR carbs, lighter flywheel, cams, 3mm overbore, ported on inlets and exhaust).
Hey, thanks for the comment. Glad it helped with the build. Ah cool, so you will have a really nice set up then with that. Bet it will be a great engine when you get it back in the bike. Is that for a track bike then, or road?
@@smorg12 Yeah it's a lot of work isn't it, especially if you've done a full overhaul on the bike. Will be worth it. You'll have to do a video when it's all finished to show the UA-cam CB fans 😂
Hi Suggy, I got the same cb 500 S 2003 Metallica blue with 50k Km on it. May i ask which are the best tyres for this bike please? I mean i want to learn how to lean without killing myself thanx ! Great channel i an a subscriber!!! Thanx
Hi, well for most the people in the UK using these on track or racing, they tend to use Dunlop sportsmart TT tyres. They are good enough and have very good grip for a road legal tyre. There's also tyres like Bridgestone S22 that people use. I use the Dunlop's and they are good enough for me. You can even get Pirelli Supercorsa for them, but they are expensive! The good thing with the Bridgestone and Dunlop, is they aren't that expensive. 👍
Hey. So this time I'm aiming to do a bit of a hybrid bike. Track and also road. I've had a harness made that allows me to remove all the parts I don't need, and keep the bits that I need to pass MOT. It will have a 'daytime MOT' on it. I'll hook up a break light and horn. But I'm doing it so it can easily be removed in minute for on track. I want to be able to take the bike out for rides out on nice sunny days, and this should be ideal. I'll also use it as a practice bike for on track. I can't race with this, unless I enter an open 500 class. I'll explain it all in the later videos that I post. So stay tune as they say 😁👍
Yeah I think that was maybe an over inflated claim from Honda. Nearly all the ones I've seen are 50/51 hp. All the race bikes are about that figure anyway 👍
Top Brasil
Class video as always, really well put together. Excited to see the results after the rebuild
Cheers mate, yeah me too! 😎👌
My engine was done by Ben top guy he knows his stuff looking to give it a good run out at Croft

Cheers mate. Yeah this one looked like it was battered. Definitely wasn't looked after by previous owner. 🤦

Ha ha yeah they are fun. Cheap considering the cost of other bikes. Thanks for the comment, appreciate it 👍
Really looking forward to how it all progresses 👍
Cheers mate appreciate the comment 👍 Yeah there's quite a bit more to come. Will post soon as I can 😎
Cool, I also work with the same bike)) very interesting what you do!
Cheers 👍 I've got a few more videos to post on the engine soon 😁
congratz from Portugal

Bet that was an awesome trip! I can imagine the roads over there would have been incredible! Did you manage to bump into Rossi whilst there? 😁
Stopped in a b&b across the road from Rossi's ranch, didn't get to see him though ☹️@SuggyRacing
@@obionecoyle3295 ha ha he must have been on track somewhere. Bet the village was cool to see though.

Thanks, this would be like Christmas and Easter together :D. Please mention your setting of the fireblade carbs when everything runs fine ;).

I thought Honda quoted 57hp for the PC26E motor?

Chuck a quickshifter on it 👍
Ha ha I am tempted! I'll get it all working first then maybe add one. I don't even use the clutch to shift up though as it is 😂
I have a healtech on mine, good fun, keep the throttle pinned through the gears
Bet it sounds nice too!
