I’ve got a little tear in my eye because your hands remind me of my late nanna, who taught me to knit in the same patient and kind way that you’re teaching. Thank you. Xxxx
I am a man who wants to knit a muffler and not only have i learnt a good interesting stitch but I feel comforted by your kind manner in a way that makes me pine for my grandma 👵, 1918-2005 😢
I absolutely love your tutorials. They are very easy to understand & follow. I am very new to knitting & appreciate your expertise. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to more of your video tutorials. Blessings, gl
I just wanted to say that I love your videos. I even watch the ones I already know how to do! You make everything so easy, you're informative and patient. My mom and I knit together, and she's really impressed with all the new things I've learned. Your instructions are simple to follow and it's fun to be able to show others the same tricks and projects because of that. My younger brother who just started knitting has started to watch your videos ever since I recommended them, my dad too! They're both learning to knit. Thanks for sharing what you know, both of you! Your videos created a family knitting circle here, we all love you and your work.
I can't wait to try this stitch out. I love the fabric it creates. I can think of so many things I could make with this. Thank you so much for showing me how :) take care!!
i love to watch you when you knit. i find that when you were passing the stitch you were switching back and fourth how you do it. sometimes you passed purl wise and then at the end of the video you were passing knit wise. is there a reason why?
Is it even or odd amount of stitches that I should cast on for a flat piece? Thank you kindly. I'm trying to start a swatch to practice. I am getting ready to start a tempestry. Thank you so so much in advance.
I love the stitch and the demonstration was really good. Thank you. I was wondering if this stitch could be used on a baby sweater or some other clothing item beside scarves or hat? I am new to knitting but I am very excited about making baby items in different stitches.
Thanks for a great tutorial. Can you please do a tutorial on how to fix a dropped stitch for this stitch? Just started a scarf with this today and had trouble fixing a dropped stitch an just started again since I was in the 4th row. Many thanks.
+Anthonia Onwordi The best thing is to backtrack your stitches to the row before and go from there. Picking up a stitch during knitting with this stitch is a little tricky.
what I'm seeing is that you knit one, then slip one purlwise and so on down the row. On row two you purl one, then wyib, you slip one but still in a purlwise direction (from right to left instead of knitwise from left to right) down the row. I had seen others where the st. was slipped knitwise on row two. It is very lovely, regardless.
***** I always slip the stitch purlwise because like that, the long leg of the stitch is in the front, every time. This way you don't have twisted stitches.
JoannesWeb Thank you for this explanation ... I wanted to ask if having yard put into a ball on a machine at the yarn shop is bad for the yarn. I paid $13 each one yesterday and when she was winding it it appeared to be stretched very hard ... Is this bad for the yarn? Thanks ~
I love this stitch because it is a reversable project. I am half way through my project and have found that I would like it to be wider. I am considering adding horizontal knit side pieces 3 inches on all sides - I have done pick up a knit but it creates a bulky seam where the join is - what would you do to add inches to the project? Thanks for your reply
@@SherylAnderson56 To continue, make sure you pick up 3 and skip 1. I know by experience. That is, pick up a knot, a strand and a knot. knotknotua-cam.com/video/WQgozKXkCY4/v-deo.html
@@JoannesWeb the more I look at it the more I am thinking I will knit a separate piece and sew them together so the pattern is the same on both sides. I'll use an invisible stitch so you don't see the seam I really wish I had just made it wider from the beginning but this will be my solution. Thank you for your response. I'll send you a photo when my project is completed

Thank you for teaching awesome stitches. U make each so easy by clearly and precisely explaining to the tiniest essential detail step by step.
Боже мой, как это мило... Чудесные уроки! Благодарю Вас.

Sharon Keller Thank you, Sharon. I believe I will make a small baby blanket with this stitch. Big enough to use in car seat.
Hola Joanne, me encanta ése punto, y más aún el wrong side. Saludos desde Caracas Venezuela 🌹
Saludos Jose

I just wanted to thank you for your videos, I'm learning so much! You are adorable!
Hugs from Brazil!
Rafaela Rafa Thank you. Muchas gracias.
What a lovely Stitch! It reminds me of seed stitch, but without as much stretch.
You are an excellent Teacher. Thank you.
I love this stitch. Planning on practicing . You make it look easy Thank you!
I love your tutorials!
I want just to say you, thanks for your video. :-)
Very beautiful stitch! Thank you.
I love you both for your talent thank you!!
Thanks, very helpful info. 🌼🌺🌸
I think i have to try with bigger needles for this pattern. I tried it twice but just with the regular needle size for the yarn and it was too tight.
Thanks, I will!
Your instruction makes me want to try it. Thanks!
+Nancy Loomis Very easy! Do try it!

Even number of stitches
I love the stitch and the demonstration was really good. Thank you. I was wondering if this stitch could be used on a baby sweater or some other clothing item beside scarves or hat? I am new to knitting but I am very excited about making baby items in different stitches.
+Veronica Marie Yes, a baby sweater would look beautiful with this stitch. It comes out nice and thick.
Thanks.
Very good tutorial- thank you
hello Joanne, say can you tell me what is the smallest circular needles, keep up the great videos, love watching how you knit !
Shortest is 9". Thickness all sizes.
How would you knit this in the round? since you don't purl in the round would it just be the yarn in front and yarn in back that alternates per row?
+Krista MacVicar I havre never done it in the round but yes, continue alternating the stitches. I'll try it! Thanks!
I have trouble telling which side i am on. If I have a knit stitch in front of me, do I slip it from the front or the back?
+Joey Thomas When this happens, I usually recommend putting a pin or some kind of marker on the right side. That would be row 1.
you are wonderful!
Hi love all of your knitting vidoes with the linen stitch can you tell me what the multiples of this stitch is
Any number of even stitches. 2,4,6,8,10
Do I cast on even number of stitches ?
I love them knitting needles were did u get them from?
Kane Tv I have no idea where I got them. I wish I did. I like them because they are short. Good for making stitch video tutorials.
wonder how this would be with a size 3 yarn, and smaller needles!
Absolutely!
What is the multiple for this to cast on. Thanks
An even number of stitches.

It is fast becoming one of my favorite stitches!

At the edge, pick up the 1 strand on every other row. This way you don't have an ugly border
@@JoannesWeb thank you
Could I pick up and continue the same stitch to make it wider?
