    My Father was a respected wrecker driver for 40 years. He passed away in 2021 .He Always told me,Try to pull the stuck vehicle the same way that it went in the problem first. Every situation is different. but when I was riding with him. That rule was true. Sparks recovery are great people. They got the rig out the best way they could. 😅 you guys are great for your community. So was my Dad.

    A word of advice, if you don't mind. In the mid-sixties, I was in the Army as a wheel and track vehicle mechanic. A part of our training was "heavy vehicle recovery" under extreme field conditions. When using a snatch block to create a 2 to 1, whenever possible, anchor the hook to a second vehicle or dead man. If you have a 50 ton winch and anchor back to the winching vehicle then it feels 100 tons of force, but if you anchor to a separate anchor point they each only feel 50 tons of force. If you are using a 3 to 1 set up, literally use two separate anchor points plus the winching vehicle. We were taught to use para-cord and monkey grass as an anchor, and believe it or not it works.

    • @Devourer221
      @Devourer221 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah ideally you) instead of using the loader to anchor the wrecker you would terminate the hook from the snatch block at the loader.
      Also with the same anchor force you can increase your holding ability by using snatch blocks to gear down the winch line allowing you to move the same object without increasing holding power. Useful if your recovery spades are having difficulty holding in soft ground etc

    As a dairy farmer, first thing I'd try is unload the semi-trailer. While that loader can handle 2 or 3 of those 3x4x8ft square bales (each bale prolly weighs +1200lbs), might *might* be able to unload the trailer one bale at a time without sinking in and getting stuck. If you can manage that, pulling an empty truck n trailer out becomes much much easier

    You guys are really great at this stuff and lots of other cool stuff.
    When I did farm work and wed get stick in the spring mud we built a sled. It was a 4 X 8 sheet of 3/4 steel plate that we could chain to the front of stuck vehicle that would get under the front end. Because for the way we bent the plate it would ride up and over the mud so we we not digging the front wheels into more mud. It almost floated the front end up and made my life so much easier. I know it sounds stupid but it saved me hundreds of hours over the years. Yours would probably have to be a little wider and longer for your much bigger equipment/vehicles.
    If you have the metal laying around you might want to try it, or maybe it sounds to recheck for you folks. It was a heavy piece to get into position ill tell you that.

    Wow! impressive job pulling out the rear. in physics, it might be explained: the mass moment of inertia for all the weight, is located on the wheels. BUT, in front of most wheels, was a barrier in the dirt blocking the pull - meaning, the tires would need to be lifted up to overcome the Barrier. OR, in a lot of applications, shovel out the material in front of the tires (did it a lot with stuck in snow - much easier to be pulled out). you may consider in future, remembering to clear the material in front of the wheels first. Smart to realize, pull it out the way it went in - the wheels were not as blocked. enjoy watching your videos!

    My guess is 3hours 37 minutes. I also think you should hook up with Matt’s off road recovery and fab rats to do a big rescue together. It would be enjoyable and potentially help grow all three channels.

    I will guess 3 hours 57 minutes. It is nice to see someone that knows a big truck has it's job it can do and doesn't just complain it is bumpy to ride in and claim it would not work in recovery. Only surprise is why you did not double the winch right away. Beautiful ranch and horse, nice to see the scenery there. Stay safe and healthy guys.

    Man, I love y’all’s videos. The production of the UA-cam channel is even better then y’all’s TV show. I am honestly interested to see how the tv show is gonna do with this UA-cam providing a much better in-depth view of the company, projects, the team, and the vehicles then the tv show has ever done.
    My guess for the recovery is going to be 3h and 27 minutes. 👊🏻

    It's interesting to see how you do your recoveries vs the majority of companies. Most folks would say "ok unload the trailer, take it as a loss or recover it on your own time" and just get the truck and trailer out. Also I gotta say it was pretty optimistic to not try a couple snatch blocks from the get go on this one.
