Bad ass old Cab-over my dad had one in the 80s my best childhood memories is going on the road with him, when i got older he would pay me to sweep the containers and let down landing gear.
Ya we're all a little nuts...a 3406B Cat has literally a throttle in the floor on the left, it's threaded, it's dangerous as hell but you can spin it and set the throttle and use it as a cruise control...but touch the brakes and it doesn't cut it off....you better be ready, you have to thread it back down to stop it. Had one. Done that. It's obvious with a cabover,, but it's pre '94, in 94 it went 3406E, for "electronic" with normal cruise control like a car, had that one too.

You guys are great! Taking all that hay to the rancher was truly an act of love! That was an awesome episode!! Love you’all, the trucks, all the good you do, and all the fun you have doing it… just helping people in need at your own expense, and rescuing old and abandoned equipment! I have to agree with the others. With this format we actually see & understand more of what you're doing. I do drive a truck myself, & I've lived on a farm a big share of my little over half a century on this earth, so I've seen some of the things you are doing on the engines in the field, but watching you rescue these old abandoned machines is awesome. Makes you wonder why they were abandoned in the first place. Love the new format.

Grew up in meadow. Spent many hours at the hot pots. My best friend drown and died in Dec 2018 doing a deep dive. Our friends who we have known since grade school who now work for millard county sheriff and search and rescue, had the miserable task of diving in to retrieve his body. He was lodged under the limestone shelf that extends toward the middle of the pool. Many of my family was baptized in the pool. My mother being one. I don't go there anymore since my friends passing.

You guys are awesome. Great job using those ratchet chain binders to gain leverage. I imagine the rust scale inside the six cylinder probably reduced the compression in each cylinder. I've had to pull the cylinder head off and physically sand the rust off the cylinders and check valve faces and reassemble old cat diesels that got rainwater inside the cylinder from the vertical exhaust muffler that rain would flood a cylinder thru an open exhaust valve. Awesome job guys.
The old aircooled case motors is/was a brilliant motor. I really enjoy the recovery videos. Heavy D why not have a competition where a lucky viewer can spend a day with you and the crew
I always doubled the voltage for trying to crank a seized engine. As you know, starters are happy with double the voltage - everything else not so much. lol. But I have freed up a lot of seriously seized engines doing much the same as you guys, but also doubling the voltage to the starter. Just don't be shy when hooking up
I love those old deutz. I wanted to put an inline air cool deutz in my 78 Ford F-350 crew cab, but sold that simply because it be years before I could get into it and restore it. I’ve had the chance to work tons of equipment with deutz engines. I’m at home resting cuz I’m sick, this video makes me wish I was at the shop working making money
When it comes to freeing up an engine no matter if it's diesel or gas always put transmission fluid in around the cylinders it works really really well way better than PB Blaster or WD-40 because transmission fluid is not only very acidic and eats rust like crazy along with burnt oil and Grease but also a great lubricant which helps free the rings and cylinders faster and safer
the aircooled deutz engines are awesome you can change every cylinder independent but when the cooling fins fill up with dirt and other shit they get to hot and lock up but if you just give it a little bit of maintenance after work they work forever
Once I had to free up a big 6 on a Pettibone. The top of the air cleaner had rusted through an water had gotten to the valves and cylinders - sitting about 3 years in Tennessee. I pulled the valve cover and hammered on the valves until all were free. For the cyls I pulled the injectors, took them home and disassembled, cleaned, reassemble and pop test them (DIY bottle jack tester.) They were rough and pitted but worked) Now, here was the neat trick, no cheater bar would move the crank. I pulled the starter, got an old Bendix gear from a generator/starter rebuild shop. I made a plate to bolt on where the starter came off. I put a bolt through the center of the plate and welded the starter gear to the bolt so it would engage the ring gear and then used a piece of angle iron and a washer to support the far end of the gear-bolt/shaft. Now I had a bolt head sticking out of plate that I put a breaker bar on. I then just rocked the breaker bar back and forth, letting it "hammer" just a little each way and it began to turn (It surprised me how quickly it came free) . I then "walked" it bit by bit one full revolution (this kept from breaking the rings) . and then rapidly about twice more. I then put the starter in and spun it. Each time I poured diesel fuel and oil in the cylinder and blew it out by spinning it over. I then reinstalled the injectors and bang it came to life!!
