Unsure why anyone would review a 2018 X1 in 2020. Just saying. The 2020 model has improved significantly improved on the 2018 model (I have the 2018 model).
I’m switching to the 2021 as soon as this lease is up. I’ve loved my 2018, but now with the new gearbox, standard LEDs, and a ton of other standard safety features, it’s a no brainer. Faster than its MB and Audi competitor models, the GLA and the Q3 by far. Much, much better engine and handling.
yeah, the 2018 was terribly stuck in the past. Seems like they have improved it after the facelift and the new model is much better. the Q3 new design is what I hated about pre-facelist X1 - edgy with sharp corners and weirdly shaped design elements (such as front bumper air intakes for example)
I actually cross-shopped this and the X2 with the Audi Q3 in 2018. I ended up choosing the Audi but have since 2nd guessed myself. QUESTION: in terms of the driving dynamic, is the X1 as much faster as the stats suggest 0 almost 2 seconds apart? I 100% agree that the X2 looks fresher and I think the tech was newer in 2018 because the x2 had just come out while this one was already out a few years and still pre-facelift. X2 is a coupe SUV to this regular boxy SUV if you would, IMHO. I bought the Audi because I couldn't get over certain design features of X1 such as the instrument cluster from the 90s, sensatech seats which are essentially linoleum, halogen lights and those 3 ugly afterthought seat memory buttons which greet you so uglily when you open the door. To me Audi felt a lot more refined (especially that the middle gauge in the instrument cluster was color - in your review it was black and white for some reason), better packaged for the end of the lifecycle sales and overall better quality knobs, steering wheel, etc. The X2 being so new was super expensive, so it made no sense o pay so much extra for the same car as X! but just a little prettier if you know what I mean.
If you can't tell a difference between the X1 and the X2 than your problem should be with the X2 - given the price tag. D
I disagree with you. The x2 looks like it's unsure if it wants to be a sedan or a suv. The x1 looks way better.
definitely and X1 is much more practical as it is just bigger car by a lot.
In the X1, you can put a wheelchair in the boot without dismantling it, but I don't think this is the case in the X2.

How do you like the 2018 model? Would you switch to the 2020 version in the future?
