I just brought one 2018 x1 and I like it. South Bay BMW, it drives good and smooth. I no longer have to look for parking fits in anywhere, nice small suv.
It could be possible, I know I’ve seen some people do it. There might be a local bmw enthusiast group in your area that can point you in the right direction, usually a shop that specializes in electrical work can do things like that.
Not quite, unfortunately. The X1 will ride a bit harsher as the suspension isn’t quite as soft as it is on the larger X3, also there’s a bit more road noise due to the price point.
Wasn't my favourite in terms of interior space/comfort. We drove a 2020 X1 and took it on a long-term road trip and found the front seating space was better with the facelift.
This car is meh for me, really prefer the Lexus NX300 F sport in that beautiful blue color. Any chance of you guys getting any Lexus f sport vehicles with that blue color soon?
If reminds you the 2 series is normal because share the same platoform and interiors, and this is the platform even for the next generation 1 series, a mainstream fwd trasversal engine, at least the 1st gen x1 was longitudinal engine rdw. But the prices are crazy, in Europe is available even with 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engines (both diesel and gasoline) and for a resonable good equipement (like a mid trim i30/elantra gt) the msrp reach a crazy 39k € for a compact fwd, manual, 3 cylinder 116hp crossover, that insane... Come on BMW... But even x3 is expensive as fuck, for a 2.0 4 cyl with some good extra optionals the price fly to 60k € . Brands like bmw or Audi or Mercedes realy lose the mind with the prices... A generation ago you buy a 3.0 6 cylinder and now for similar price you get only a 2.0...
We think it's insane, as nice as BMW's vehicles are, we could never consider something like this over so many other more affordable options. But people desperately want to get into the luxury market, so BMW is going to make a killing off the X1, since most buyers don't care it's transversely mounted and based on a FWD platform.
Perpetual Radio Networks yep, some people are crazy about brand... That's why they buy 1.0 liter 86hp vw golf or even worst a 200k km used Audi that fall apart but at least they can show "hey i'm driving an Audi (so i pretend to be rich) " seriously... There's a lot of guys in 20's with low income that buy an old and crapy Audi instead a more modern and realiable "mainstream brand" just for impress other people and pretend to be wealthy... This culture is realy a cancer, also because many time those car have illegaly modified odometer for show less km (scamer vendors) and many Audi driver are know for reckless driving :D
We've got that same problem here, funny enough with VWs! I've heard a lot of horror stories about tampered odometers on VW cars, and Suzuki motorcycles.
X1/X3 was odd looking when it first came out but I think they look half decent now But 40k+ ? 😲🤭 New redesigned RDX for 2019 is stunning and a better pick. Odd trade in.
I actually test drove a rdx and x1 and locked the x1 the rdx drove like a boat and the infotainment/navigation looked super outdated. The seats in the rdx were only slightly more comfortable
I did a 1200 km trip in a 2017 X1 600km in the back seat and 600 in the drivers seat. I can confirm that the back seat is made of concrete and absolute punishment after 1 hours time. Not even suitable for children. Driving is good, similar to my current X1 2012.
I definitely wouldn't be able to spend that much time in the back! Our daughter was alright on the trips we took, but she also has a car seat, so she doesn't notice much in any of the cars we drive.
I have alcantra in my 2018 2.0i xdrive and I can't complain but I do agree they are a bit harder from other makes, we did trip london - switzerland with no comlains, all I can say my previous Lexus NX had much more comfortable seats but I much more happy the way he drives for SUV - you don't feel that you driving SUV and size of the boots is incredible (4 pairs skis, 4 pairs ski boots, ski cloths, helmets plus normal baggages - all fitted),. WE going to Monaco end of may and Poland in August and I'm going to do stage 1 this monday - can't wait.
@@Rosendnd Sounds like good times ahead! We moved on and now drive a Tesla Model Y. So much better, and the seats are plush just like Lexus. Also $0.01/km is amazing. With a roof box there's room for 5 comfortably to go skiing. 200 km drive.
They gave me this as a loaner when I was getting my car serviced....hated every second of it. It’s basically a Mini Countryman. The tech was nice, but other than that, it’s a no for me.
The Countryman definitely has an acquired design. We dig it, but we also weren't into Mini before driving it, so we're not a typical Mini enthusiast in that regard.
BMW been getting over on people for a minute now over pricing there vehicles you get more from the non premium brands now day's and the quality is not that above the non premium brands to justify the price
That's basically how we saw this car, people will continue buying it for the luxury badge. We've got another Showdown coming on Thursday comparing this with the 2018 Mazda CX-5 GT.
We'll see if it's on the fleet! We've reached out to a number of manufacturers already to start booking for November but it seems to be too early for them, we've got something new each week until mid-November already, so I'm hoping in a month or so I'll be able to get some more lined up, including some xDrive models from BMW!
I just brought one 2018 x1 and I like it. South Bay BMW, it drives good and smooth. I no longer have to look for parking fits in anywhere, nice small suv.
Enjoy it!
What has your experience been like in this past two months with it? I’m currently looking at one
@@AmaneeYasmeen I love it !!!
I get a lot of compliments , and it's really fast lol, get one it's worth it 😊
I love this car and I’m actually in the market for buying the 2018 this year in a jet black with cream interior no car payments cash 💰 so excited 😆
Very nice, hope you find one!
Same
Did you buy it? How much was it?
wow what a beautiful design 🔥
It works out well for this vehicle!
If bought second hand without apple CarPlay, can it be added?
It could be possible, I know I’ve seen some people do it. There might be a local bmw enthusiast group in your area that can point you in the right direction, usually a shop that specializes in electrical work can do things like that.
@@PRNTestDrive thank you.
I’ve only driven a X.3 and I really liked how it handled. Does the X one pretty much feel the same?
Not quite, unfortunately. The X1 will ride a bit harsher as the suspension isn’t quite as soft as it is on the larger X3, also there’s a bit more road noise due to the price point.
I feel like dude is slightly hating on the fine vehicle!! 😅
was thinking the same, but looking at his behavior, i don't think much excites him lol
🤔
Does the BMW X1 2018 come with the welcome screen with driver profile?
Neither, unfortunately.
Nice n compact X car. Well done Sir. Cheers
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Did you say it has Apple CarPlay ? How do I set that up?
Should just be able to plug it in with your USB cable. I believe it's an option though, so your specific car might not have it.
Which color is that?
This was Atlantic Grey Metallic, looks a little blue under normal light, which we seem to find with a lot of paints from BMW these days.
Also maybe try using tuoro for renting new cars for the day to review them
We looked into Turo a while ago, but all the cars in Montreal are pretty boring, and there's nothing out our way.
YNWA thnx 4 the advice buddy
Glad you liked it, thanks!
I'm similar in size....how comfortable was it
Wasn't my favourite in terms of interior space/comfort. We drove a 2020 X1 and took it on a long-term road trip and found the front seating space was better with the facelift.
I wonder if this car has any problems since this review
I'm sure people have had issues with the X1, though it's still too new to truly know what future problems might arise.
That car fire 🔥
Fair enough!
4:45 what is Tim Horton’s?
Used to be the best choice for coffee up here, now not so much!
This car is meh for me, really prefer the Lexus NX300 F sport in that beautiful blue color. Any chance of you guys getting any Lexus f sport vehicles with that blue color soon?
As much as we'd like to, I doubt it unfortunately. Toyota is the only mainstream consumer manufacturer who won't work with us.
Perpetual Radio Networks is it because they don’t have android auto and Apple car play and u call them out on that?

We're hoping we can get the 2019 RDX, looks like it could make a splash in the market for Acura, finally.

It a 2019 in the video
Better take me to prison 👮🏻♂️👮🏻♂️

OOF!

Gotta wait until Thursday to find out!
Looking forward to the showdown!! ill take my 40K 2017 Mazda GT over an X1 anyday!
Perpetual Radio Networks how did this car fare against Audi Q3?
Bmw x2?
We've spotted an X2 or two in the wild, personally hot a huge fan of the design.
@@PRNTestDrive review it for us! Actually i dont know why bmw, has to many cars lines. But that x2, is interesting.

Just returned my X2 after 1 day and got an X1. The blind spot from the c pillar in the X2 was the dealbreaker for me. Otherwise, great car.
Mercedes GLA250 anyday
The GLA certainly fills a need in Mercedes' lineup also.
