  • When Bol Bol was drafted back in 2019, there was absolutely no question as to who the front runner for the steal of the draft was.
And it didn’t take genius to figure out why..
Bol Bol’s production at the high school and collegiate level was unlike anyone had ever seen, especially for the son of the tallest player to ever step foot on an NBA court.
Coming into the league Bol Bol checked absolutely every box and then some, as a 7 '2 ball handling center that shoots damn near 50% from deep.
And at a time where big men were required to have more versatility, the sky seemed to be the limit for Bol.
But how did a lottery projected player fall so far down the second round? At this point everyone knows that the answer to that question is a serious lack of work ethic…becoming the poster boy for hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

Work ethic, attitude. Anything but his potential failed him. He was in the perfect situation twice. Behind Jokic in Denver, and an Orlando team that was finding their identity then

Everything is mental. I watched a Suns vs Clippers ganem. Bol had the ball in the paint against James Harden and he passed it back to the perimeter. Yes, he is a bust. There is no amount of yelling or training in the world to fix a 24-year-old basketball player like that. That was the real reason team dumped him.

Great video and bol bol is good he just needs to find a way to be consistent but that’s hard when you have a team with keven Durant and Bradley Beal on the team, he should have stayed on magic

My attention has been heavily focused on Bol when he is on the court. He needs to cut more when someone penetrates to the basket so he can get dunks. He also needs to stop passing up on his opportunities to score. He needs to set wider screens as well. On defense, he has to run back and help on the boards more to prevent 2nd chance points or mismatches against any of the Suns guards. He can still improve, but lets see what he does come playoffs.

Bol is good to go,, he is instant offense when he come off the bench. He just needs to be on the team when he gets consistent minutes. He has all the tools, prove that with the limited minutes he has been getting with Phoenix

Man if I was bol bol I would’ve stick it out in college for another year just to prove that I’m not injury prone, and that I’m dominant to me that’s what he should’ve did

I thought Bol Bol was going to be a lottery pick on draft night. You can tell he's just not cut out for the league though. His talent keeps his head above water but that's probably his ceiling. And everyone knew. He fell to 44 in the draft to Miami and was immediately traded to Denver for one future second round pick. Then Denver did nothing with him and traded him to Boston who also didn't want him so traded him to Orlando where he finally got minutes for a full season. Anyway they originally signed him to a 2 mill per year deal with a team option for another 2 mill a year. They decided they'd rather keep the 2 mil and didn't take up his team option and let him go... So this guy has been looked at and passed on by so many teams that it would be a massive shock if he actually proves everyone wrong and lived up to his own hype.

I don’t think he is a bust. He just lacks the fundamentals to be effective. He has the physical tools and talent, he just needs to figure out on how to be efficient and learn the system of his team.

I agree, in the video I mentioned that I wouldn't consider a 2nd rounder a bust, and I agree with you on him lacking the fundamental tools. But even with all the holes in his game, in a league that heavily favors offense he should still be able to average at least 15-20 pts per game. If he worked harder and refined his game I think he would be an Allstar. Without any major injuries of course. Thanks for the comment!!

Some thoughts on bol as a suns fan, bol is great and has the talent to even be a all star but I don’t think he ever will, he has to be put in the right place and most coaches don’t know how to do that or just refuse to do it, when he plays with the suns you can tell the mentoring from Kd has helped a lot, when bol gets consistent minutes he is getting consistent points he needs the right place where he can play at least 20 minutes a night, the suns is a perfect place to do so but Vogel has to take away favoritism area and play bol, Bols stats are taken down from Vogel just not playing him, he will sit on the bench with 2 minutes played while the other bench players are shooting under 30% but when bol plays he is able to do everything he just needs the right coach and the right team

We’ve seen that when bol plays and actually gets up shots he will easily have a 15+ point game on like 80% shooting he can make everything with ease, especially his midrange where he’s automatic from there
