- "The Journey of a Unicorn" is an original short film about NBA player Bol Bol, the son of 7'7 NBA legend Manute Bol, who rose to stardom at a young age due to his size and unique play-style. After an injury ended his freshman season at Oregon, Bol found himself struggling to get on the court at the pro level, leaving many feeling like he would never make it at the game's highest level. This is the story of Bol's second chance in Orlando, and his opportunity to finally show the world his potential.

Hope you're right! That would bode well for my Magic. There's a bit of blackhole effect with Bol right now and sometimes he struggles to defend. But this is really like his rookie/ 2nd year in terms of games played so there's a lot of growth to come!

It's not easy for a young man to lose their father, especially in such a changing time. I could only imagine, as absolutely awful as my father was, how much worse my early teens would've been without a father at all.

I remember starting to follow him when I heard he was Manute Bol's son. He was in Highschool still and I so wished for him to go to NBA and be as good or better than his dad. After that stint in Denver it seems like he is allowed to breathe. This is what we've been all waiting Bol Bol! Now let the NBA see how hard it is to stop you.

As a Celtics fan, I still can't believe the C's passed on him like 2-3 times in the 2019 draft. Then, traded him away when they finally got him. He would have fitted in the 5-out offense the C's run.

I grew up watching his father play against MJ back in the day. Bol senior was the king of blocks. Bol bol would ball out everytime he got in on a few mins. I'm glad now a team starts him he deserves it and will be a Hof player someday.

That was incredibly well edited and narrated. As a Nuggets fan I was excited he was going to the Magic with an opportunity to mature and develop. You stated well that Denver just wasn't in a position to afford that to him, but it's exciting to see him take advantage of that opportunity and we are seeing the potential. The Nuggets team loved him too. One of the few guys that would regularly get them all to jump out of their chairs. With health we will see some amazing plays from this young man.

BBall is Kung Fu, too. Bol started training, and playing as a PG, before the growth plates in his skeleton fused. So the moves were in his NEUROMUSCULAR MEMORY before his growth spurt... already like tying his shoes.
The guy is humble and wonderful just like his dad. Its a shame many teams passed up on him. He has a bright future. But what makes him great is the humbleness of his. Just like his dad. It will take him real far.

Bol Bol's father .. Manute Bol was an acquaintance off mine. I first saw him at a basketball game in the Harvey Hubble Gymnasium located on the campus of the University of Bridgeport ( my hometown & stomping grounds ) .. Manute was 7' 7" tall however, when he arrived in the United States, Bol weighed only 180 pounds (82 kg) .. and had gained just under 20 pounds (9.1 kg) by the time he entered the NBA. I first met Manute shortly after a game in which he had scored 29 points for the U.B. Purple Knights and pulled down 18 rebounds and blocked 3 shots in a big win for Bridgeport. It was at 'Famous Pizza' located just around the corner from the H.H. Gym. - Manute just LOVED PIZZA .. eating several whole pies in a single sitting along with quite a few beers. Unfortunately, he never seemed to put on any weight, which is what he was desperate to do. He was a sweet man who liked to talk and speak of life back in the deserts of Sudan. He told us about his tribe's custom of hunting and then killing a lion in order to become a full grown warrior/hunter man. We used to talk about the NBA and the current players of that time and how badly he wanted to make it to the 'BIG LEAGUES' and play against some of the greats that we would watch on TV from our barstools in the 'Kingsman Pub', a bar just a couple of blocks from 'Famous Pizza' where the proprietors didn't mind us bringing our own pizza into the bar area. I feel quite privladged to have known this fine 7 foot 7 gentleman and I'm sure that he's looking down from his perch in heaven and feeling great pride watching his son 'Bol Manute Bol' play against the best players in the world in the NBA. ~~~
