In my Ranger, if you creep away from green lights and stop signs, your fuel mileage will improve exponentially. Set your instrument panel so you can see your current fuel mileage and you'll see the difference as you drive.
@@touringandtrails Same here. I drive my parents Corolla SI quite bit, it's peppy as hell. Gotta drive new vehicles like Peterbilts lol, let them pull away, basically, under their own power. Baby that pedal.
I've been complaining about car/truck prices all my life! Sadly, 43K for the Tremor, in today's market, is a good deal. I bet you could get pretty much that if you traded it today. I bought a Ranger XLT FX4 Splash a month ago off the lot for about the same price.
Steps are number 1 for me. Taking them off this weekend and putting some rock sliders on. Lost some skin on my leg first week I had it from those steps. Love the truck though. I have had it about 2 months got a white park at tremor
1. Fuel econ; I get 23mpg in 4wheel in the winter, in the mountains of Colorado. Try using 91 octane. 2. who cares about the key? relax 3. Handles; do more situps 4. Front camera; install one, it's an upcharge from Ford, and most companies, anyways. 5. Steps; didn't like them much when I first bought mine. But now I like them. I'm used to them. 6. Price? WTF?! With the tremor package in XLT , it's one of the best bang for the buck! Better than a Taco for sure. You really just don't like the truck for some reason. Why the heck did you buy it? I love my 2021 Tremor. GREAT TRUCK. LOVE IT. Don't listen to this whiner.
@@touringandtrails You sir are truly a great sport. I kinda busted your balls and you took it well :) Hope you're enjoying it as much as me. Had mine in the mountains here on a very challenging trail and never had to use the locker or 4 low. It amazed me.
Every newer Ford we have owned had poor fuel economy to start, after a while it got much better to being excellent on most vehicles. I prefer having a key, I have seen too many apps fail and electrical issues that couldn't get the vehicle...and the people home. Anyways, everyone has an opinion and I respect that your needs are your needs...as for the steps? I hate them too, all they do is get your trousers dirty and with a prosthetic leg it makes it hard to get in. As for the price? Way cheaper than the Tacoma and with a much bigger payload.
I couldn't come up w/2 things i didn't love bout my '22 Ranger Tremor. Best truck in the class by far. Your complaints regarding mpgs are unfounded. It's still a 4500lb+ 4wd truck. Stay off the turbo a bit you will get 22mpgs around twn. If you don't like a key ignition..shoulda got the Lariat ..SIMPLE. Good things are proven , powerful Gen2-2.3L TGDI & 10R80 F150 tranny. OVERBUILT. Dana axles. You get more good stuff tech/power wise in that truck then anything else in class. You need to learn more bout your truck!
Always got between 22.5-24.5mpg with our 2021 Tremor. We ended up trading this year for a 2024 F150 because I wanted a V8 and we’re getting 19.5mpg from that so far.
I would almost bet money that the reason there is a grab handle on the passenger side is because the design was first introduced in Australia. They drive on the opposite side of the road over there. And I would further assume Ford didn't change it because they didn't know how the design would be received.
The pull handle is on the other side because the Ranger is based on the overseas where the drivers side is on the other side. So they did put one in for the driver....the drivers in Australia.
That makes sense. I have learned to use the steering wheel as my handle and works good. You noticed how Australia and NZ seem to get the best of automotive innovation (Holden V8, Ford diesel ranger, etc). Anyhow, thanks for watching.
The fuel economy is awesome.... coming from a Tacoma TRD Pro... I avg 18 at best... RN I'm getting 20.7 mpg. The key is annoying for XLT package but overall not annoying enough... the price is I paid was 41.5K an amazing deal and at 0% interest to boot. Camera's suck because it doesn't have one up front... and the rear is basic...other than that, it's an amazing truck.
The big difference between fx4 and tremor are on the tires from my research and slightly more weight due to skid plates. I wonder if you replace with fx4 tires or less aggressive all seaaon how much it will improve the gas mileage on the tremor. I know i know it defeats the purpose of the tremor. Maybe that's why Im choosing fx4 instead.
Fx4 is very capable and has a rear locker. Tremor package is not top mich $$$ upgrade but very hard to find. You should be very happy with the fx4. All the terrain modes it will get you where you need to go.
I like keys…….I don’t need a handle……..front camera would be great and yip, the fuel milage is crazy. Seems like a small truck with a turbo four cylinder should be getting 26 or more
Currently get an average of 23 mpg unless towing. Without the off-road package it would probably get around 26. I need to see what the stock version gets. Appreciate the view and comment.
In Puerto Rico the ranger tremor is $50k, I wish cars were the same price as there; here the new bronco goes from 60k to 85k, 4 runner Trd pro is 70k, the frontier pro4x is 50k too
I’m going to get a camera setup like the one that is on the tailgate and put it in the front grill and hook it up to the radio I’ve heard that it will work cause there’s extra holes in the radio so I’m hoping it will work
About the only thing I don't like is the tan trim on the interior. I ordered mine with Carbonized Grey, they should have given the option for grey or black trim in my opinion. Everything about the truck is darker tones until you get inside. Then it's black and tan. My brother is a mechanic for Ford so I was able to get my Lariat Tremor for $39k after trade-in, D-plan savings and extras they had going for it which is probably the only reason I bought it. I'd find it hard to pay that for a Tremor had I not got the deal I did. Raptor, sure, Tremor, unlikely.
THEY SAY the TREMOR PACKAGE rides better because of the SUSPENSION, AND THE LARGER TIRES. The GRABBERS on the TREMOR package gives BETTER GRIP and the extra RIDE HEIGHT puts the FUEL ECONOMY right out the window (the TREMOR PACKAGE rides better than the FX4.) I have THE FX 4 PACKAGE because for me, that's all i need but, ford makes you spend in areas that certain EQUIPMENT should be INCLUDED and THERE SHOULD BE A GRAB HANDLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THIS GUY IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.
Sorry for the wait but you will be happy with it. I got lucky and found mine the day it was delivered. They said it was the last tremor they would receive this year🤤
Whats nice about the key? No Tom Dick And Harry can push a button and drive off. The Touch unlock door handles now days. plus push button = grand theft auto! Take a key vehicle any day. Why make it EASY to steal

You are correct, in comparison it's not as bad as the competition and it's a very nice truck
The Ranger Tremor is an outstanding deal. Best midsized truck in segment by far!
I agree with everything you said . I especially don’t like the steps but I still like this truck very much.

Appreciate the comment. Glad you stayed in the Ford family. That's great MPG for a v8 and tons of power.
6. Back seats don't fold up or down flat for inside storing/packing/moving.
7. Bottom of the steering wheel blocks hand placement.
You are correct
I like what you mentioned, but I think yo missed the most important one: NO AC VENTS ON BACK!!
That's a good point, although a good reason to torture the passengers!

I agree, after almost 1 year the lack of a front trail camera is the only real disappointment. It's a great truck, 28k miles to date.
I have the f150 and can get 29 mpg on highway with coyote engine and yeah it has lots of flaws but performance and fuel economy are not one of them
Can't argue with that mpg. I am very happy with my Ford
Would have a key any day for protection of theft where just pushing a button means anyone can just drive off
Very good point. Old school really does work best
