Cattle Decapitation "Bring Back the Plague" from the "Death Atlas" album.
Cattle Decapitation's Travis Ryan (vocals) comments: "With the cancellation of our ironically titled 'Europandemic Tour' and social distancing recommendations set in place, we found ourselves with not much to do. So we figured why not address the elephant in the room in the form of a music video for 'Bring Back The Plague' and just film it on our mobile phones instead of with an actual crew. Dave didn’t even have access to a drum kit, and nobody is leaving their houses anyway, so we decided to lighten the mood with a video. Everything from the band name to the lyrics to the merchandise to the imagery have always been heavily steeped in metaphors and irony always with tongue firmly in cheek, so this new video by David Hall at Uneasy Sleeper may just be our coup de gras...for better, or for worse. Just don’t take it too seriously, we obviously didn’t. Sit back, have a laugh if you can, and stay the fuck home at all times possible."

@@plainlogic Cholera toxin which is excreted by the cholera bacteria attacks the gut cells and cause enormous excretion of water from the body. So no vomiting but basically peeing out of your ass for days on end faster than you can drink. Most people die of dehydration and salt loss.

I've had the, uhhh, "clean" vocals from the bridge stuck in my head for days, and this album has finally gotten me into this band. Would really love to hear more singing like that, it's fucking epic. You guys fucking rock! \m/
The second half of their album Monolith of Inhumanity is where Travis brought in those vocals. That entire album is a 10/10 and highly recommended.
@@extrainches Dude, I've taken a deep dive into that trilogy since this was posted and actually just saw them here in Seattle not long ago. Hands down my new favorite band!
Yeah man so not to belabor the point or anything, but it’s considered a sing-scream (was told this by Jake Diffenbach of Rivers of Nihil one time) and it’s literally just that-a combination of the two; definitely a refined skill. You can hear early glimpses of it in their album The Harvest Floor, but as my man above me pointed out, the technique really came to life on the Monolith of Inhumanity album, and since then Travis has regularly incorporated it into his songwriting, as evidenced on this here album as well as The Anthropocene Extinction. Cheers my dude 🤘

And though there are some exceptions, this is also probably the most peaceful time in history, at least in regards to armed conflict. But we've overstepped our bounds by a significant amount. We cannot continue to industrialize and expand our population. If we haven't already stressed the biosphere to the point of no return, then we're rapidly approaching that point. We're like a cancer on this planet; we refuse to stop growing, even when it ensures the destruction of the body in which we reside.
There's no way to innovate or invent our way out of this situation. There's no way to quickly restore the millions of years of topsoil accumulation or reverse the methane sublimation from thawing permafrost and arctic ice. There's no way to restore the biodiversity that's been lost from clear cutting millions of acres of forest to make room for mines, pastures, or urban development. Or the biodiversity that's been lost to aggressive overfishing and contamination of the oceans by petroleum hydrocarbons and toxic, radioactive heavy metal isotopes.
There's only two options at this point. Either a majority of human beings die within a very short time, or all of us do within a slightly longer time. But most people don't have the balls required to pull the trigger on billions of people simultaneously. So we will just fade out slowly as all of our resources dry up and we begin to implode. I'm sure the last generation of humans will live harsh, brutal lives, killing each other over scraps of food and mouthfuls of drinkable water.
But hey, cheeseburgers are tasty, right? And it's "wrong" to tell people that they can't freely reproduce, or limit the amount of time people are allowed to stay alive. So we're fucked. And we deserve it, too. As a whole our race is incredibly selfish and short-sighted. We really are the plague.

So about 12ish years ago the vocalist and another member of the band came into the round table pizza joint that I worked at. I knew that they were playing at the venue about a block away. I was working late on delivery, but I did see them in the restaurant eating before the show. I regret not saying hi, and I had to miss the show because of work. Not a great story, but I figured I'd share.
