Pretty chill guy for someone who screams about a forced sex change in detail
To be fair its also a pro trans anthem
@@Cattledecap4life not sure how to feel about that actually...
@Hunter Powell
lol honestly, that's how I found Cattle Decap in the first place
fucking awesome track that led to one of the greatest bands i've had the pleasure of listening to
@Bryan Mc
lol what? scared of us deviant transgenders?
We destroying your morality?
@@bgmac1219 yeah. That's a topic I've never felt comfortable talking about either...I have no problem with transgenders but I dont like talking about the whole thing.
His "clean vocals" are insanely distinctive.
They're one of the biggest reasons I love CD so much. It add such a thematic element to the songs. Sounds like a demon singing.
Goblin vocals!
I love how he was like, "Is this ok to do? And just put it out there." Clean vocals are risky, but he kills it all around.
yeah they're insanely bad
Spongebob sounding ass
Greatest vocalist but God he is so underrated in the metal scene.
Mitch Blythe so true
Yes I second that
Im not sure about this dude being the best...but underrated i agree with ya
underrated??? everyone praises him
@@MRK140.15 cattles definitley grown in popularity since monolith, but theyre still pretty underrated in the metal scene
It’s funny cause he laughs nervously, like what he’s saying is embarrassing to him, but I can guarantee anyone watching thinks it’s cool as shit
Hell ya
💩 is cool
His vocal range and energy is amazing
what range?? its screaming!!! wtf
Unfreundlich what are you talking about
@@unfreundlich7168 That makes no sense lmao. You can still have a wide range with screaming. How can you not tell at all?
Nice pfp 😌
@@unfreundlich7168 What?
Years later, a kid would be in their mom's basement with a practice speaker and a mic practicing to Travis Ryan's vocals. And that kid was obviously me.
Travis was the first vocalist, to me, that proved you can actually scream a note.
Devin Townsend?
Jálna Jani honestly, I only discovered Devin recently. The first time I heard notes on top of screams was with Travis back in the day.
Luka Baule Travis was still the first person I heard of doing them.
For me it was Joe from Gojira
Wayne Static was the first for me.
Goblin vocals! His “clean” vocals sound like how I would imagine a goblin would sound like.
That's what I call them too!
oremagoden Hahaha yes!!!
I always think it sounds like gollum if he was in a deathcore band
It sounds like an woman who still lived after the world died and shes all mutated wandering the wastes mindlessly screaming.
Dude, that’s how I described his highs to someone just last week
Having a good sounding scream actually takes talent
Artist & Band News by Michael Nagy genetics. You mispelt it.
Both you are fucking wrong. It's literally just practice. No one is born with natural talent. Talent is just doing something for hours and hours and hours.
@@tybrosion Yeah but people like Alex Terrible have natural talent
What? Talent isn’t “just doing something for hours and hours”, that’s not even close really, lol
@@LordDangles how is it not? That's what musicians do. Please elaborate on what talent is.
The best extreme-metal vocalist I've ever heard!! His range and quality of vocals are insane!
Would agree with you =)
Vlad Night I love cattle decap, but everytime i see anyone calling anyone the best at extreme vocals I have to point to Ben Duerr of Shadow of Intent, he is on another level.
I called bullshit until I saw their live performance. Completely blown away
@@pietandersen6120 I love Ben, think he's phenomenal, but Travis is at the very top. A lot of people don't fully realise how wide his range is, and the amount of different styles he can do.
@@metalswifty23 And that I will have to give you, me from two years ago was wrong
Mixing Cannibal Corpse vocals with Carcass vocals was the most genius move ever. Travis Ryan is a true innovator. Possibly the best vocalist in the genre.
One of the best vocalists out there
And mikael åkerfeldt 💖
That's an opinion indeed!
And also he does it properly - he's not devastating his vocal chords and/or throat - we're sure to have plenty more screams from this very talented man !
Never thought he would mention Chris Barnes as an influence.. like ever.
The first four CC records were pretty impactful. Isn't Vile like the band's best album, yet the last with Barnes?
@@yvesheinrich5013 Vile is with Corpsegrinder.
@@SolarAdrift Sorry, I meant The Bleeding and its very controversial album cover.
Yves Heinrich tomb of the mutilated had Barnes. The wretched spawn was more crazy album cover wise
If you sing death metal, Chris is an influence. Is he the only influence? Probably not. But cc and deicide were the biggest bands in death metal for ages.
Probably the most pleasing high/clean vocals I've ever heard in metal.
The vocalists from Signs of the Swarm, Lorna Shore, and Brand of Sacrifice owe their technique to Travis especially with the highs
Will Ramos credits Travis Ryan in his man or beast video
@@wesley7376dickie Allen too
It literally just dawned on me that this dude is 44 and can go out like a demon on stage, and can sit there and just be like " yeah man " all chill..... I WANT TO REACH THIS LEVEL
HYPED FOR CATTLE'S NEW ALBUM 🖤
Oscar Chavez possibly my fav metal album next to dimmu's death cult Armageddon 👌🏿👍🏿
So how was it?
"I don't full cup anymore, but I like to ride up on the ball." Legendary.
Death Atlas is a beast of an album,' cattle decapitation is one of the most underrated metal backs out there and he's a very underrated singer there an exceptional band. Love their Direction and what they're doing
Crazy how they’ve progressed from Human Jerky - Death Atlas was a grower for me, I love it now
It's not just his crazy techniques that I love, but his writing as well. The way he composes the vocals and the way he layers shit always feels really well thought out and really brings the band to a whole different level
Cupping the mic??
Glenn Fricker wants to know your location
Benicio Limon no no no. Said he used to, then realized it wasn’t what he wanted. Glenn would be proud he stopped and learned to use his vocals.
Now he just "rides the ball" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@adam_wynne Rocks the knob, if you will.
He is the best to ever do it in my eyes. Travis has the most original vocal style I have ever heard.
He is a ferocious vocalist. Live he's phenomenal.
Carcass inspired him and he inspired Dylan Walker with Full of Hell 🤘☠️🤘. The brutality continues...
Full of Hell are one of the most promising young bands in existence rn, the lineage is clear.
Glad i found something about dylan here
He also is a huge influence on Ben Duerr from Shadow of Intent, and Dickie Allen.
The new album is crushing, and he seems like a nice dude.
Instrumentals are underrated IMO.. all albums need that one super sick instrumental to change the pace of the album. Maybe not ALL but IMO they give albums a nice bit of fresh air.
Especially love what his vocals have evolved to. With the cleans and the growl
More anything Cattle please!!!!!
Travis seems like such a chill, down-to-earth kinda guy. Would love to see Cattle Decap live one day!
He streams on twitch every once and awhile.
This is by far the best video you guys have ever put out! CATTLE D IS THE BAND FOR ME!
Now a video I really want to see fuck yeah thank you loud wire.
I like this dude and his attitude
I see Travis Ryan, I click!
One of the best shows I've ever seen... These guys at the CheCafe in like 99. Taken played first, then Cattle and The Locust headlined. I just remember Cattle though. They had two huge stacks and the guitar player played through both. They didn't have a bass player. Just 1 guitar, 1 singer and drummer and they sounded like there was 8 people up there. Huge fan ever since!
I'm a simple guy, I see Cattle Decapitation, I like!! #CATTLEDECAP4LIFE
he always reminds me of a more older, yet emotionally enthusiastic version of ryan gosling
AL C - I see that too haha
what a nice guy
You know what’s weird... I’m actually a more soul/ R&B type of vocalist, but I try to be a well rounded singer, so I have learned how to do extreme vocals as well... and it has helped extend my range in my regular singing like crazy.
I've seen Cattle live twice and it's great to see his vocals are consistent on stage. Interesting tongue explanation too.
Travis Ryan's combo of vocal silly sounds (like combining the jazz growl and saliva rattle for a demonic Marge Simpson sounding high screams) paired with the tunnel throat position should have it's own special name. Unless of course you just fit it under "pitch/melodic/melodic" or "mixed drive".
If you wanna cup the mic, get to your lowest without cupping it, THEN do your lowest while cupping it.
This man literally created the style we have today. He needs the credit!
I just commented on one of your other videos that I wanted to hear Travis talk about how he learned to scream. Glad I found this content. He is my favorite metal vocalist. I hope to get this technique down someday!
Scream sounds so menacing. It’s like its different person or a inner monster that’s talking
5:29 some metal fans are the biggest twats. Yeah, make an artists fear their artistic output because of "the brootz". Glad Travis did what he wanted, we all benefit from it.
Never would have expected them to get this big when I used to go to their shows 12 years ago... Glad they made it.
I love how there's a random BABYMETAL thing behind him
That clip of Broken Hope sounds like To Serve Man era Cattle Decapitation, so I can see the influence.
underrated as a vocalist in every general sense that's known to vocalization.
His screaming is what hooked me to this band. It's hard to explain but it's almost a cartoon type Heavy Metal quality and I freakin' love it.
Travis has great taste in music, love that Bethlehem shirt.
I really love this guy, make me laugh, he is funny, I have all Cattle Decapitation's albums, I'm dying for hear the brand new album called DEATH ATLAS...
One of the most talented vocalists out there of any genre. Plus, he is super chill and humble!
One of the best metal vocalists ever. So great, excellent live voice!
Cool that I just saw Cattle Decap and Carcass tour together
That tour was sick. I met him in Cincinnati. Him, oli, and their merch guy were all awesome.
I thought the same thing hes actually hitting notes! Thats why his singing was blowing my mind!!!
Theres nothing bad to say about this fucking Travis Ryan, amazing vocalist/musician. everything adds up, in my life, they are playing on the same fucking bill as Mr. Bungle... Like holy shit!
heavily influenced me through out the years I have discovered decap!
coolest dude ever
Hands down best metal vocalist.
I had the privilege of sharing a rehearsal space with Cattle when I played with Gutrot and Deathevocation. Good times!
Cattle Decap is my favourite band ever since I heard them. Actually the first time I heard them, I wasn’t even into Cannibal Corpse yet, so this scared the shit out of me. Then recently I was trying to remember bands I’ve listened to, but didn’t like in the past, so I couldn’t give them another shot. I remembered Cattle Decap, and as soon as I heard Death Atlas I just lit up. The same day I bought a shirt on amazon, and they’ve been my favourite band ever since.
best vocal in the game
Stoked to see this here!
Exactly what I’ve been looking for
I waited for a video like this tysm !!😍😍😍
Awesome paying homage to one of the greatest death metal vocalists out there to do it. R.I.P Joe Ptacek. 🤘🤘
Monumental vocalist
Sickest voice in metal right now
Bethlehem t-shirt, he definitely knows his crazy vocalists.
its amazing how much older he's looking but how great his voice is on Death Atlas
His vocals are excellent. One of the best metal vocalists for sure. Such a great range of styles.
God fucking damn it this guy gives me so much inspiration. Time to go write a song.
Does anyone notice travis wearing a BETHLEHEM tee
I was looking for this comment 🤘
well he is a big fan, so that explains. btw BETHLEHEM is fucking awesome.
@@rsaldivar8
perverted bands for perverted people. Bethlehem is pretty amazing.
Bethlehem is pretty disturbing but they're cool

Exactamundo. You need to be in a certain mood to enjoy listening to SUIZID and Dictius Te Necare, at least for me. Germans always knew how to make great music tho.
Death Atlas best ever gives me chills every listen all day
Only just got round to listening to them today so perfect timing
Saw you in bucksport Maine at the kave.god bless kathy for bringing you and many bands to our little corner of heaven.
I love this guy so much. His vox fucking kill.
Its cool seeing the similarities between Trevor Strnad’s and Travis’ coming up stories. Never realized how influential Carcass was
This man and his band finally got me interested in death metal.
3:57 >> The best part, as he there starts to explain where his "scream in tone" vocals came from.
It's good Travis, and it's completely acceptable. Those melodic screams are bringing your band's creations to a different level.
I feel like i have to say something after both having watched this video several times and seen the comment Ihat says "Travis Ryan Underrated". When i first heard of Cattle Decapitation, i had never heard of vocals like the ones that Travis (Ryan) had already been doing for a good while before i heard of them. ive got to be honest and say that i didnt really know what to make of them. But "that" was what made me understand that what Travis was doing was something new (and pretty damn incredible!) . I listened the hell out of the Terrasite singles and then preordered the album. One of my best decisions music wise.
"I ride up on the ball but...that's just... I can't help it. That's just instinctual. I just always do that."
Sooooo coooooool!!!
I love this man
Excellent video and Cattle Decapitation is one damn good band !!! 🤘😊
GOAT
The man is a genius. Best in the business. \m/
So satisfied to hear Joe Ptacek get some love.
Still, no one does what he accomplished. How he melodically went guttural is genius.
Rip
Greatest vocalist ever!!!
my no.1 favorite death metal vocalist ever 💕
I fucking love Cattle so much. They are the one band i will make every effort to go see when they are in L.A., which luckily is very often. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
inspiring
these are great
Fukn love the thrashy vocals. CATTLE DECAP is one of the best!!!
Unfortunately alot of people don't even know about Carcass. They had a huge impact on the scene. I have fond memories of when heartwork came out in high school.
Love cattle decap and horns up to him for wearing a Bethlehem shirt! Greetz from Germany
His vocals were immensely influential in shaping what I expected from vocalist
His vocals are insane & cool t-shirt
