Another broken or poor launch has plagued yet another video game that many people were looking forward too! Will this ever change?

It's unfortunate that a re-release, remaster, remake, or definitive edition releases in a state that is unfinished, rushed and so forth. But at the same time, we gotta kind of expect that from the game industry today as, game design is usually very difficult and requires alot of know how and talent to bring forward a game worth playing, also alot of game testers and Q&A teams, and alot of budget for every game.
So I do understand why it's happening, but I do agree that a game like this should never have flopped the way it did. Aspyr are responsible for this one in particular and they should aim to fix the issues in the future with patches, if they aren't able to deliver on that, the customers of the game will be disappointed.
Similar thing happened to the GTA Definitive Edition. It launched in a unfinished state but eventually overtime, the game got did receive some updates that fixed some bugs although not all of them, but still, yet another flop in it's own right. But I personally enjoyed it despite the bugs, it was "playable" but at the same time the player experience was suffering in terms of gameplay. But at the same time I can't blame the developers, they had a small team of devs.
This Aspyr team, I don't know much about, but I would assume they're in similar situation. They had a great idea, but just didn't know how to properly launch the game in the best way possible? that's my best guess of what happened.

I do agree that we must cut game development some slack & a lot of the people there know when a game is not ready to launch!
But at the same time, we must hold all involved accountable because not only is it us giving them money :o
I wished games were polished at launch then given some updates on minor bugs & general improvement but, too often the game is broken or flawed before patches fix it :o

As far as I know Aspyr is not that much of a reliable developer. I remember hearing that their port of Stars Wars: KOTOR for the Switch was full of issues on launch but I’m not sure it was fixed. I’m glad I still have KOTOR and both Battlefronts for the original Xbox and they’re all backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series X.

Ah I knew not everything they made was amazing but I know their track record was decent & they were on a good run until now!
This is it & this needs to be sorted going forward!

So many games recently have just been released as half baked messes. It's sad.

This has now been standard practise for years & I'm still annoyed by this!

I saw a comment that said that there were over 10000 players online and only 3 working servers at one point... I haven't fact checked that comment but I wouldn't be surprised after all of these bad reviews.

Yes I also saw this in my brief look at the Steam page & in another UA-cam video!
Really poor on their end & I heard the servers are not working properly either ;o

Listen... What's that I hear? Oh, it's Monday's Jimquisition writing itself!
Seriously though, this really isn't good enough. These companies do this with every launch of a game. When I was young I'd nip to Woolies, or Boots, pick up a Speccy cassette, pay my £1.99 (or £2.99 if I were pushing the boat out!) and take that thing home and the only disappointment would be remembering I had a Speccy and not a C64! But at least the blasted thing would play... After two hours of loading! Now you buy a game on launch day and have to download all of it before you've started. I'll be honest, I've not paid full price for a game in a good couple of decades. I don't do online multiplayer, so I don't need it immediately, for me there's no point paying full price if waiting a couple of months let's me getting for twenty quid. There's nothing really wowing me these days either. The last game I got excited about was the Medievil remake and I've still got my PS1 versions!
Sorry this has been a let down for you mate, it really does suck. Hopefully it'll get fixed and you can enjoy playing them again!

      You bet! xD
Here's the problem, all these events have changed not only how I feel about the games I buy & when but, I never buy a game on launch day anymore until I'm certain the game works as intended!
I really hope Aspyr get their act together quickly, otherwise they will be in the firing line!

Battlefront 1 & 2 classic are amazing & I have personal fond memories of them on PC :)
It is not good, I was going to get it too! Yes, it needs a cut soon!
