It's important to note WoW is starting to cater more to solo players. In the next patch, you can run Dragonflight dungeons by yourself with npc companions. In the next expansion, there is "endgame" content with Delves which can be ran with 1-5 players and an npc companion to tag along.
Important to note that the dungeon runs with a group of NPCs only applies to “normal” difficulty dungeons. So only the easiest dungeons can be played this way and subsequently doesn’t drop the highest level gear. It’s still a neat feature tho I hope they keep adapting it over time.
Can't wait! I was a hard core raider during vanilla through Lich King, but no time for that now so having a FF14 style npc dungeon system is going to be awesome!
I have no problem with them broadening accessibility so long as it doesn't take away from anything else. Allowing someone to run a dungeon with NPCs or by themselves doesn't mean that I'm prevented from scaling the difficulty and/or running with my friends.
As a new player, I was glad to hear this. No one wants to help the fng. The game has become way too bloated, and trying to figure out how to progress is overwhelming. All these different currencies for different things. Ridiculous. I was a long time player when Destiny 2 experienced the same problem. I remember thinking, "I can't imagine a new player trying to jump in now with how bloated this game has become."
Same i loved to play wow switched to FF around 8 years ago and since then i play WoW on and off and love that it gets added. It will make it so much easier for people to enjoy Dungeon content as casuals and will open up for more players. I know for example people who play almost only for themself and maybe touched a dungeon once in 5 years but with that npc system they will definetly go in and enjoy them @@hammerofscience534
Im a brand new player and have been having a great time. People are friendly, made a couple friends and people who took time to genuinely teach me things about the game. Been a lot of fun just exploring and slowly but surely learning the game.
To hear you dismiss the story of WoW through Wrath of the Lich King - a literal genre-defining storyline that made this franchise timeless during an era where it existed amongst a sea of strong competition - really encapsulates a lot about what I hate so much about modern MMOs and its players.
Honestly that's what finally made me stop playing, I was so in love with the lore back then having come to WoW from playing Warcraft 1, 2, and 3 and then WoW from vanilla in 2004 all the way through to WotLK, the expacs that came after were okay gameplay-wise (more or less) but the lore was just missing, the writing just didn't grab me, and each expac only got lazier and less interesting, they couldn't top wrath, it was just too good. I was so invested in that storyline that I held on all the way through to legion hoping that the next expac would be able to hold a candle to WotLK and I stopped playing when I realised I was just waiting for something that would never come. Came back for Shadowlands and it only solidified it for me, those days were done. I'm thinking of coming back just for old time's sake. But my hopes to recapture even a glimpse of the magic of those days are sadly low.
@@IronHorse1854 I'm not touching retail with a stick... I'm a new player who was too young to play back in the day and I want to give it a go. I'm enjoying WoW more now than I have since Legion. I still think they need to open every instance up to every player (especially while leveling) but the game is in great shape over all.
Legion was the last time i really enjoyed the game. What exactly do you enjoy about DF? The game is light years away from being in great shape. Worst expansion after SL. Even WOD wasn't this bad
These discoveries remind of Star Wars Galaxies - and how each class had a different unknown random series of events/achievements which would unlock the jedi-sub class for their character.
The talent system is.. phenomenal. I am constantly tweaking and theory crafting. Yes, you can easily just copy/paste the "best" specs from Icyveins, but so much more fun to actually learn your talents and class and tweak the heck out of them. I have specs saved for Solo, Group, PvP, Raid, Dungeon, Mythic, AoE, Single Target... such a greatly improved system. Paladin is also amazing right now. All specs feel and look good! Holy is the most fun it's been in years.

It is sad that you don't know wow's older lore it actually used to be some of the deepest game lore in recent history, only things I know of that are any where near as lore rich are table top games like 40k and DnD. Final Fantasy probably also would get a vote from me too, it is a 30+ year old series. There are a few historians on wow that go from begining to end. For me why I was killing the boss was as important and actually doing it, made you feel more invested and part of it all. I still like that feeling though knowing the bosses crimes or story. Like Illidan for example was imprisoned for war crimes he committed against his people during the war with the Burning Legion (he was a night elf at one point) and for creating a fount of power (the demon hunter by infusing those of elven blood with the blood of demons). For those crimes he was hunted down along with his army and put on trial by the Night Elf Wardens and sentencted to eternal imprisionment (along with his followers). This prision sentence was commuted in Legion when the Burning Legion attacked in full force. That info minus the legion stuff really made killing Illidan important, also Illidan was one of my favorite "villains" because he isn't all bad, and becomes the hero again. Anyway I do hope one day when you are bored and have down time you look at some of the older lore.
Agreed, the lore was so important to me that I was and still am Horde loyal and only play Horde characters. In 20 years I've never played an Alliance character, it makes me feel more personally invested in my factions struggles in the lore. I know quite a few people do this as well, they roll only Horde or Alliance, as though supporting a sports team. Most of my friends are Horde only too, only a handful play both factions. No other MMO has that, and it's made an attractive way to play purely because the lore is so rich. I think it's a behaviour more common among WoW players who played back in the day, when the writing and world were far more rich and important to the experience, it was so easy to get invested and pulled into the world and the faction struggle back then because the writing was so good at supporting it. Those who played Warcraft before WoW even came out (Warcraft 2 was one of the first PC games I played back in the day, still have my copy in its big box) remember when Warcraft was a huge and interesting world to get into. New players sadly miss out on that because they just gloss past the lore, and I can hardly blame them, Blizzard's writing is no where near as engaging and interesting as it once was, just like the company itself. Not everybody does this of course, lots of people played both sides to experience more of the content, but for some like myself the faction loyalty is an attractive aspect of the game.
@@IronHorse1854 Horde are based. Horde are conservatives and real. Alliance are slimey and liberal. Can't trust them. Can't trust anyone. I only play the Forsaken (Undead).
I would totally still play it I think, were it not for the extremely toxic player base. What you're showing here is the leveling experience which would entertain just about anyone. The issues rear its head in end game when you have to play in groups.
Tell me about it, I jumped ship to FFXIV a few years ago and the community in that game is so... reasonable. I remember being taken aback when I was doing a shit job of healing in a dungeon (cause I was a noob) and instead of "KICK THIS USELESS NOOB UNINSTALL GAME IMMEDIATELY IDIOT" I got people saying "That's okay, you got this, let us know if you need any help, we'll do smaller pulls if we gotta, no worries :)"
It exists it's just that most people play games for views instead of making friends and socializing on there which for me was the main reason I played it so long.
They got too greedy, jacked with the lore, sold to Activision and then fired most of the talent. The icing on this shitcake is Kotick's toxic reign over WoW.
@jay-ti4bt I've been playing like 2 weeks max. Everything is new to me. I'm not a 20 year player who has seen everything multiple times. If it's too much of the same for you then hop into a different game and get what you're looking for. Variety is the spice of life 🤷♂️
I can attest. 20 years ago ...brings back so many memories...Leeeeeeroooooy. hahahahaha miss those days of where we all came together and formed 40 man raids that lasted several hours of pure skill and fun.
Goodness. If I was still in the same place I was back then, I would love to play that discoveries one. Unfortunately, I just got too addicted to it. Instead, I do different hobbies now. Glad to see Force is still doing videos.
For season of discovery I'm turning off chat and never using wowhead. I can't explain to those that weren't there day one how fun it is to play when no one knows shit. Its going to be great!
I have returned to retail after classic. Honestly for the first time i appreciate the design choices in WoW. The end game is engaging and exacly what I would want out of the game. A sense of progression while playing the class tbat feels best and trying to optimize dps while doing mechanics. The rotations feels fun and engaging always. Unlike those in FFXIV where its all about memorizing a long rotation and long list of mechanics.
I'm not going to say FFXIV endgame raids are the most dynamic and engaging content bits I've ever seen, but it's ages ahead of anything going on in WOW. If you like the game better that's great. But comparing a Honda to a BMW and saying the Honda is better cuz you say so, is some next level government grade copium.
@@godofm3tal1 story and glamour aside, what is FFXIV better at? It's leveling experience is tedious even after ARR content. Classes are very scripted with 0 room for trying out different playstyles, the most incentive things you can do in a class in FFXIV is to choose DH over CRIT. Brilliant. End game scene in FFXIV has been following the same template since HW. 4 savage fights, 1 raid you can do while being asleep, and 1 ultimate fight every now and then. It's not enough to fill a season. Once you are done with savage and current ultimate you got nothing but playing old ultimates and farming glamour/mounts. WoW is the opposite of all of the above. Mythic raids lasts as a challenge for much longer, the m+ dungeon runs and key pushing is brilliant way to keep players engaged and seeking better gear, drops etc. The gear upgrade is much more complete here as opposed to FFXIV where you got one upgrade and that's it. I have played FFXIV since 1.0 btw, so I am not bullshiting you here, and got no bias to defend wow whatsoever, but it is a much more complete game in the aspects that are gameplay related.
@@godofm3tal1 I think I get what you're saying, maybe, but... I'd choose a Honda NSX over any BMW, except maybe an E30. Shit, tbh I'd choose a 90s Honda Accord over most non-M series BMWs, even those are cooler than most common BMWs. Mid-range BMWs are mostly kinda shitty tbh, BMWs prestige comes from what they put out in their high end models. If I were after an affordable-ish new car and I could choose only Honda or BMW I wouldn't even look at BMWs.
I think Force is one of the best gaming content creators on youtube and he never asks for likes and subs, even gives a buddy and shoutout and to sub, but not to himself. He deserves a million subscribers.
Started playing solo and this is the best experience I've had in the past decade. 20+ Mythics and heroic raiding are pugable within two weeks of starting.
My take on what would make classic WoW perfect is quite simple. TLDR: Make TBC work on classic world without the new area(outland) - Rebalance all the classic clasess, bring some lf the skills from TBC if it needs to acomplish the goal. For example classic Paladin tank could not taunt, so the solution would be to add a skill. All classes should end up being viable. Some for PVP some for PVE. -Limit only to classic world, that means no Outland or Northland. It means to restructure the whole world, how many, and where are the mobs are placed. It's important because the smaller the world the more interaction between players would happen. It's probably would not be easy, but spliting communities between expansion lands, leaves the world empty and boring. In TBC once player reached lvl 60, he essenntially was removed from the world. Players between 1-59 are unlikely to meet those players, which means less interaction in general. -adjust the professions. My personal opinion is that classic proffessions were very limited in what you could create. I think expanding from TBC into. Classic would be the right way to go. -Like in hardcore there should be incentive for players to play in parties, especially randoms. That way people interact and might form connections. This is not a rocket science, that's what made vannila work in the first place. Constant player interaction.
Yea no. Been playing classic , tons of people everywhere , people helping each other , role playing , you travel the world it feels alive, feels like an adventure. Tried retail it i coulnd get passed lvl 20. Didnt meet a single soul , everything is fragmented and convoluted , the game hold your hand and force you into an island where you will level until almost max , Nobody in chat , NOBODY in the world questing , people i saw are legit muted. tons of side systems that feels like an actual mobile game, Everything feels meaningless , you xp fast , you travel fast , you get gear so fast , gold isnt a problem , every zone scales and the world feels fake ,you can xp anywhere. It all feel more of like instanced solo rpg more than anything.i was amazed how different it was to the wow i know. Even the main quest is fragmented between all timelines , it just break immersion so strongly. It just feels like a smokescreen of a game. I hated it.
I first started playing WoW in 2014/15, after getting addicted to Hearthstone. I haven’t played since Legion, but I’ve been feeling like I should start up again since I have a functioning computer now 😊
As a completely new player who started about a week ago, I really like the game! Long have I been in a search for a interesting and good MMO, after I had to quit ESO and WoW seems to fill that void. EDIT: I play both, Classic and Retail though more Retail.
@@forest_hobo I think that’s because you really have no perspective on wow in it’s prime so of course it’s acceptable to you🤷♂️ retail wow has been changed and reworked a hundred times now and is nowhere near as good as the game was at its height. Too many convoluted systems in place now.

I'm an older player--I have slower reflexes and memory than when I was younger--and I still have hard feelings about being kicked off pick-up groups on dungeon runs in WOW. Is somebody in our group less able? Throw him out so we can get somebody better. After trying the other major MMOs, I have settled on Guild Wars 2. The player base in GW2 seems more mature, sympathetic, and helpful than the player base in WOW, and the game seems more nuanced and modern.
Depends highly on the content . In Raid there are the same assholes . Doing low tier fractals are fine but high tier Fractals there are also the elitist and crack speedrunners
@@Undecided_ GW2 is my Classic WOW game. I love the game and I love the community, but yeah it's all friendly faces and nice people until you try to do any challenging content. Heck early days I got abused by catmander because I didn't know the Meta(it was my first meta and it's a fucking meta ffs, even if I was perfect, 1 person hardly makes a difference when the whole map is doing the meta. Anyways, After that I realised that it's the content that attracts a specific type of player, so for any mmorpg if you want to do the hard content and not be abused, joing a guild with mature players(not older just mature) will make any mmorpg feel like it has a great community. In last 2 years I played Lost Ark, NW, GW2, FF14, ESO and now WOW and the only game where the community itself is toxic is lost Ark. GW2, FF14, ESO have all had lovely guilds that I joined, that do everything from fun community nights to high end raiding. They were all full of lovely people looking for a safe space to enjoy their games. Lost Ark is the only game where i never found that. I ended up with a static group that disbanded and I never managed to get another group before quitting. I haven't found my home in WOW yet, but I only played for few days, I'm sure with time I will find a guild that isn't bunch of insecure manchildren.
I see the haters have arrive as usual under every wow post who probably only played for like a week. Aside from some narrative issues, Dragonflight has been pretty good gameplay wise and many ppl are truly enjoying it. You can just tell from the amount of ppl in-game and in communities. Don't really care about classic though, not my cup of tea.

WoW is the most new player friendly it'll ever be imo. You get everything just by leveling. No more need for trainers which was super annoying to me but now I'm having fun questing and running dungeons as a priest. Retail is in a good spot rn.
Sadly , that’s not what makes wow great. What makes wow great is the open world feeling and community side of it that made it really feel like a world. Sadly that does not exist anymore. So take this guys comment with a grain of salt please.
The level caps being lowered is the only good decision on SoD other than that nope for me. I wanted level caps, they gave it, the very reason I wanted them was so it would encourage more world PvP.
It's not about being hard, it's about the experience. Retail and vanilla are vastly different You want a challenge, that is fine. Does it affect you negatively if people enjoy season of discovery ?@@giovannix108
Id say as someone who spent 4 years sinking my time into wow, no you shouldnt get into it. If its your only game sure but its just not worth getting so sweaty try hard to do anything endgame
It's a fact. I have been trying to get into WOW since 2015. I never got to play it as a kid, and by the time I started working I was "too cool" for a stupid MMORPG when I have the bro-iest of the bro-iest games to play(Counter-strike). After I grew out of my teenage phase, I always wanted to play wow, but never had people to do it with. I would keep trying wow and quitting after an hour or two. SOD kept me for a week. I am now giving it another chance, and wow is it so much better now than the last few times I tried. I still haven't decided if I am going to stick to Retail or go to classic/SOD. So far my experience has been that retail is a lot more like what other modern mmos do(a lot of qol stuff, but also a lot of useless systems that are there for complexity only) but they kinda fixed it a bit with the reworks a bit. SOD is very scary because it's all older players, I haven't come across a single player that didn't say (oh yeah I used to play this back in xxxx) and same with Classic. I keep seeing these new players that are playing classic in comments and stuff, but I don't see them in the world? What server are ya'll at wtf lol.
I love hardcore mode. It reminds me of when I was a kid and how utterly detrimental a death was playing classic. It makes everyone feel like a substantial Denizen of azeroth and seeing 60s is sorta like... woah nice 👌
Nearly ten years ago (2015), the subject of my end of high school comprehensive exam an article about how WoW ruined a man's career and marriage. He had been addicted to the game, describing himself as someone that had "lost ten years" of his life. That same amount of time has now passed since that exam, and in that time, I've graduated, started a career, changed a career, been in a long-term relationship, moved cities, got married and now I'm starting a family. I was six years old when this game released, and it has effectively outlived two generations coming-of-age. It's unfathomable.
16:40 I haven't played Dragonflight but i believe they added a 3rd spec to Drakthir so it is not just 2 as it was on launch. Devastation, Preservation and then they added Augmentation later on 😅
I played WoW until BFA and then stopped, the story and gameplay is pretty ok until you reach the "endgame", everyday doing the same dailys, the one dungeon, the one weekly raid, the same 3 old raids to get the mounts like clockwork ... at that time it felt more like a job where I had to pay to do it ^^"
I have played an already closed game called Spirit Tales and I really enjoyed that game's Pet System since aside from your character you can also give equipment/weapon/skills to your pet and make them strong as a not maxed gear character so it's almost having a permanent party mate. Since then I have been looking for an MMO with a good pet system. My friend told me to try WoW. I just want to ask how's the pet system of wow?
I started playing with my 2 kids, our setup is a bit ok I guess, oldest plays on a great desk pc, myself I play on a Omen laptop and my younger kid plays on the Rog Ally, works great for all of us, we've reached lvl 20 and now I'm wondering if it's worth to pay to play... Great time thus far that much I know
If you wanna try the vanilla WoW experience to see if it's for you, Turtle WoW is a free to play private server. It's very well populated, has a hardcore mode and tonnes of extra quests and content.
Played WoW on and off since release, most recently quitting halfway through Sanctum when my laptop started randomly overheating and I couldn’t Mythic raid anymore. My issue is that I can’t play it casually. Whenever I return I end up quickly getting sucked into raiding and want to do it at the highest level, which was fine during COVID but I can’t make that time or mental effort commitment anymore. Still, it was a very prominent part of my teenage years (as was WC3) and I occasionally get a strong itch to come back or at least check out what’s going on with the game. Season of Discovery sounds pretty fun, always wanted to have healing as a mage.
I would recommend players come and experience Season of Discovery. The classic wow setting is really chill and relaxed, and a good entry into wow. Modern wow (retail) isn't much fun in my opinion.
DF is better than the past 2 expansions but I still think you should wait for next expansion, there are so many systems going on right now that it would be best to start fresh in a new expansion. Also there is Classic and Wrath to play as well.
That’s nearly a year from now though. If you want to play DF, you should start today. No point in waiting when we still have a long while before next xpac
I have played wow in its first 5 years like a madman. I loved just exploring and crafting potions and selling them to people. Then i discovered the auction house, buying low selling high. Then the game broke for me: i got so filthy rich i could buy anything i wanted. People called me a twink, thinking i got all those expensive items from an alt. But i did not. In hindsight... being able to buy anything i wanted ruined it for me. In the past 10 years i have tried to get back into wow, but it just does not grab me anymore. That feel i used to have, just finding ingredients, brewing potions, doing a quest here and there... any advice on how to get that back? I would love to get addicted again 😅

Hey everyone, figure this is a good place to ask this: I've heard good things about DF. I played wow a decent amount up to MoP and didn't really go further than that. If i was to start again, how daunting would it be go catch up to current expansion? When I was younger I LOVED the classic bosses and raids (Onyxia, Azuregos, AQ) but i was never good enough to do them myself. I know you can gear up and go through those classic instances pretty easily now, but is the new content good as well? I feel like MMOs are the one thing you can't stop playing because if you do, so much new content, lvl caps, gear, etc. come out that its overwhelming to anyone just starting out (or returning after many years).
I know I'm really late to this comment, but I just wanted to say that it's really easy to catch-up with leveling and stuff to be able to join endgame things yourself nowadays in Retail WoW. You might've been gone for a while, but once you find a class and spec you like, it won't take anytime at all to get to max level and be able to engage in the endgame content if that's your main desire with the game! The last time I leveled a character in Dragonflight, it literally took me less than a day from start-to-finish.

To hear you dismiss the story of WoW through Wrath of the Lich King - a literal genre-defining storyline that made this franchise timeless during an era where it existed amongst a sea of strong competition - really encapsulates a lot about what I hate so much about modern MMOs and its players.
FRR
Should have titled this video "Playing WoW classic in 2024"
I've never played wow for longer than 6 months since wow classic era, TBC, WotlK, etc.... But here i am, 9 months into Wotlk classic and still enjoying it everyday!

@@IronHorse1854 wow players are toxic?
There's a reason WoW was such a massive cultural phenomenon. It was an amazing game. That game doesnt exist anymore.
It exists it's just that most people play games for views instead of making friends and socializing on there which for me was the main reason I played it so long.
They got too greedy, jacked with the lore, sold to Activision and then fired most of the talent. The icing on this shitcake is Kotick's toxic reign over WoW.

The other great thing about Hardcore classic is the starting zones are always full of players

@@godofm3tal1 Honda is more reliable, so it's better in that sense. Honda is cheaper so it's better in that sense. Your comparison makes no sense.

This comment makes me want to play again, I got back when DF started but quit after a couple months, I miss it
My take on what would make classic WoW perfect is quite simple.
TLDR: Make TBC work on classic world without the new area(outland)
- Rebalance all the classic clasess, bring some lf the skills from TBC if it needs to acomplish the goal.
That’s simply not true, GW2 has the same assholes, wow has the same helpful people, depends where you look
Depends highly on the content . In Raid there are the same assholes . Doing low tier fractals are fine but high tier Fractals there are also the elitist and crack speedrunners
That's what social guilds are for.
I’m not sure if this is real. Hope you find your group. Find the game that’s fun for you. PS always push yourself - don’t get into a rut.
@@Undecided_ GW2 is my Classic WOW game. I love the game and I love the community, but yeah it's all friendly faces and nice people until you try to do any challenging content.
The future is here and I love it
I love hardcore mode. It reminds me of when I was a kid and how utterly detrimental a death was playing classic. It makes everyone feel like a substantial Denizen of azeroth and seeing 60s is sorta like... woah nice 👌
Here’s the short answer: if your heart is longing for a new mmo/ open world then YES! Try wow. You will NOT regret!
I don't even look at other new MMORPGs anymore. I'm finally done coping on finding the next best WoW.
2019 classic release was fun but hardcore classic captures the 2004 community feeling a lot more. Hyped for Season of discovery!
Devastation, Preservation and then they added Augmentation later on 😅
Coming back for season of discovery has been great, feels like grade 10 again.
Dragonflight is awesome ❤ you should try it. Can’t wait for The War Within, Midnight and The Last Titan it’s gonna be a lot of fun😅😊
Great time thus far that much I know
It's beyond time for a new game. Enough is enough.
Ive never played wow but was considering starting. Really like the dragon race
I really want this game but I can’t justify paying monthly for a game I’d rather pay one time price
Really looking forward to profession's in Season of Discovery, crafting epic lvl 25 BiS gear with leatherworking 😎
Can failing at platforming kill you in classic hc?
WOW is the best mmorpg without a question
I actually thought often about starting wow, I never played it. But I really hate the monthly payment method.
DF is better than the past 2 expansions but I still think you should wait for next expansion, there are so many systems going on right now that it would be best to start fresh in a new expansion. Also there is Classic and Wrath to play as well.
What systems are you talking about?
That’s nearly a year from now though. If you want to play DF, you should start today. No point in waiting when we still have a long while before next xpac
what they mean is endgame gearing systems, there's a lot of catchup in play.@@CyclopsToppingWolverine
I saw this guy comment on a Nixxiom video asking for things that are already in endgame DF, he doesn't play the game or know what he's talking about
@@RicksonGM Please elaborate, haven't said anything like this to my knowledge? You just mad because I hate WoW's current story? Seems that way lol
WoW vid sposored by jagex lol
I used to play on a pirated server when I was a kid (couldnt afford monthly subscription) and enjoyed it alot. Tried to play a few years ago with subscription and couldnt enjoy how it is now. Now going for WoW Classic and Hardcore. So happy to come back to what I feel is WoW. For the Horde

Question about sod,
Are they reseting progression for each phase?
And how long the duration for each phase?
No and around 2-3 months depends
@@brimstonevalar6053 oh it didnt reset?
I thought since it was "season", it'll reset per season(3month)
But there still a reset/wipe right? Is it safe to say it'll be at least a year before they wipe for season change?
Edit : i searched for the info about the season duration before they'll wipe, but couldnt find any info anywhere
No no you shouldnt play WoW.
Should I play WoW?
you should play what makes you happy. duh.
Its still the number 1 mmo. Yes. You should.
Agree. If you have managed to go without playing it up to this point in its lifespan then keep away. It’s trash ran by a trash company.
@@richm298 amazing company with amazing values
Current WoW is an amazing spot right now. No matter what version of the game you enjoy there is plenty of Warcraft to be played!
Wow token should be more than enough to tell you why you shouldn’t play this game
it really doesn't affect anything. 😂
Same for OSRS bonds?
"... a lot more exciting..." proceeds to stand perfectly still and exchange swings with enemy
The answer is no.
Short answer. No. Long answer. No
Hello I'm from the Philippines. Which server is the least amount of lag and english speaking community?
