Something that will really impact warrior dps is how fast each cycle is, with only 10 weeks in MC and 12 in the other raids there will not be close to as many people walking around in full bis. Warriors will still be top dps but I think rogues that go for rr14 for the gm dagger will have a better time trying to keep up, being able to use deadly poison makes quite a lot of difference.
Yep. was tempted before. But dual spec definitely locks in that ill be jumping back in yet again. I love playing my holy pally. But being able to properly farm on off nights without wasting hundreds of gold a week will be very nice.
It's that for me, and it made me ultimately decide to go warlock over mage since locks are better in TBC. That, and getting a free mount on a fresh server is nice.
i played mage all through classic 2019 and BC. Felt so OP in pretty much everything. But there was one class I hated in PVP and that was Shaman so I think I am going that route this time. I don't mind chilling and chain healing in raids with dual spec honestly. Great video TY! EDIT: I am really gonna miss ports lol.
The no buff/debuff limit is the reason im so excited to play druid this time around. Hopefully warlock is fun with that change too. Its always been my fav type of alt because of how different the tool it is from druid.
The pace is brilliant and the world is so lively without flying mounts. Retail wow with dragon riding has made it even worse imo. Doesn't really feel like a lived in world anymore. Damn shame.
Same. I enjoy TBC a bit too. Hate Kharazan grind in phase 1. Literally caused me to quit in 2020 or whenever classic TBC was released, but u came back when BT was available and cleared until Sunwell came out. Was a lot of fun.
Ok just want to give a heads up about Bear tanking as WillE kinda brushed over it (I have tanked every boss in classic as a bear minus loatheb): Its absolutely the strongest tank going into MC and it is definitely the king of any boss fight where you need to stack resists as you basically don't suffer a health penalty like warriors do for slapping on Resist gear. It does fall off in Tier 2 due to lack of upgrades, but is still very strong during this time. You Will want to do PvP for some gear once it comes out which will hold you over till AQ. While you have to farm Manuel Crowd Pummelers (especially if your are horde) the farm is pretty chill and easy to do, and once you hit AQ (the 1h weapon gives feral attack power which is very strong) you can effectively stop farming them then unless you just want to parse. Its biggest downside in Naxx is the fact that you cannot Use potion>AoE taunt very well for spider packs. Its biggest upside in Naxx is the resist aspect as well as being the best tank for patchwerk and Anub due to having an additional sprint built in. Its 100% viable in classic to be a bear, and anyone that says different is full of shit. (and I don't mean that in the way people think playing meme specs is viable)
i was told apparently bear druids cant hit defense cap, so they can just get randomly crit on some bosses and just die, is that not true? is there no reliance on things like the +defense stat or rng gear drops?
@@tahutahu2446 So this is a fundamental misunderstanding of how tanking works in classic. While crits and crushing blows can hit hard they are unlikely to be fatal even on a warrior tank (this is why you will see most warriors Fury tank in classic) Bears make up for the crits with their insane Armor as they can almost reach armor cap in preraid bis. Giving you an extra 35-40% armor mitigation (over warrior), which all but negates when taking a crit and making so that when you are crushed you are actually taking less damage than a DW Fury tank.
My favorite class is Paladin. I made the decision in 2020 to play paladin in classic unaware that their best spec was healer, which is a spec I never play. If I get my friend to play maybe I'll make an alt that's a paladin so I can play Ret later on.
oh yeah, please do a video on how each class performs in BOTH vanilla and TBC! I hate leveling, so how a class performs in TBC is going to be a huge consideration in what I roll now
One small modification if I may. Shaman is 5 stars for pve and pvp objectively : -restoration shaman is THE most demanded spec in pve on the horde side, there's a good reason for that. -Ele/resto shaman (30/0/21) is an absolute monster of a spec in group pvp : with the proper gear you can literally global an entire group of people. You have interrupt, purge, grounding totem, anti fear, good healing, windfury totem : so basically awesome utility, good healing, and enormous burst damage. It's a very, very scary spec. Otherwise I agree ;-)
@valaquenta220 So accurate and why I stopped watching the rest of this guide. Shaman is a super class to play in vanilla. Its BS, he doesn't know much about vanilla/era or played it to the fullest like some. I dont think he was just wrong about Shaman either. Bad guide.
Its strong no doubt. Has major weaknesses though. Its a turret so can't do much under pressure. You won't be globalling a team without Elemental Mastery, which is a 3 min cooldown and means you can't take Nature's Swiftness. Good luck getting the gear for it btw - and a lot of it is cloth so there goes your survivability. All damage and healing is nature, so counterspell or silence ruins its day. Grounding and Windfury are both air totems - you can twist them but that takes a lot of mana. Tremor Totem only does its job 50% of the time and has to be precast if you are the fear target. Chain Heal is insane, but its basically all you do in a raid. That and getting yelled at by the warriors if your Windfury isn't down for one millisecond. In Classic they had addons that would spam you if they attacked without Windfury lol.
@@cecilofs Gearing as an ele shaman is actually very easy, been there done that. It's just that it mostly becomes a monster when aq40 comes out, before that it's just "quite good" but not op. Still tons of fun. I 100% agree with it having obvious weaknesses, but thank god it does. Imagine if this thing had tons of cc and was super mobile xD. Overall, ele in classic is probably one of the most fun times you can have a shaman in pvp imo.

Of all the class guides.. this guy finally makes the video to answer the real question..What class to pick in classic WITH dual spec on the table. Immediate thumbs up !
It’s crazy. I’ve been watching all of these class picking videos and I just have zero desire to play. I thought maybe the discussion would pique my interest but SoD has ruined classic for me. I love that I can actually do competitive damage with my dear Shadow Priest, and a lot of the new abilities feel fun and exciting compared to Classic’s mostly 1 button rotations. Depends on your server. From what i realize when playing OCE server, Horde lack healers while Alliance lack tanks. Not sure how it will be when CCF(Classic Classic Fresh) release.
I started classic as a retail player on Hardcore. I leveled my first warrior to 60 and i absolutely loved it ! Idk even tho it's slow until higher levels, it kinda feels "real". Probably gonna play war again, even tho i play casually.
Maybe within 4-5 years, Blizzard will stop the silly re-release of Cata and post-Cata expansions, optimize the cyclical fresh vanilla-TBC-WotLK, and finally know what to do for Vanilla/Classic+/WoW2.0
As a warrior main. Warrior is high maintance but high reward. If you put the work in the warrior will be the best calss in the game. And that why I'll be maining a Druid bear tank this time around and alt leveling a Warrior and Paladin.
Part of me is conflicted on playing a hunter or a rogue. My first lvl 60 was a Rogue but I stopped playing once I hit 60 because I was in a casual guild at the time and everyone left for hardcore raiding guilds so yeah. It could be fun to play Rogue again and bring it into TBC but I also really like the idea of Hunter. Also sidenote but I played a Hunter in TBC which I didn't play much of because I was really burnt out by then from Classic so this is my chance to enjoy TBC.... come next year.
I have the same dilema.. My very first char in 2007 was a Dwarf hunter with whom I played up until 47lvl, then TBC released and I made a Draenei Paladin who was my main during most of the expansions. When classic came I made a Night Elf rogue and I had a blast with world pvp! Now I'm a dad of two and I'm thinking of playing a dwarf hunter (with the same name and appearance of my original char ofc!) on the normal server to have a chill experience. Def going druid this time, with dual spec i could either go fully into both directions in feral, or i could have one feral build and one resto/balance build. Will be really nice
I keep going back and fourth between gnome warrior or mage....warrior is so fun when it works well but mage is better for solo pvp. However getting your hands on some cool weapons is an amazing feeling, not sure what to pick. I just wanna pvp a lot and have fun with friends!
Wish I had the time to go through it for the 3rd time. I've never played a cloth class and would love to combine raiding and PvP-ing on a shadowpriest. Alas, no time at all :)
As usual awesome guides! I am hoping you would also be willing to make a guide for those of us who want to level characters for TBC since it's confirmed XD
I really agree with your video, but I feel like warrior PvE is in a tier of its own. By far the #1 DPS class for all of classic by a wide margin, not to mention being literally the _only viable tank._ I would've moved the rogue and mage down to 4 stars.
im maining shaman this time as its my least played class as all the way through 2019 classic and up until now ive mainly played alliance. looking forward to it!!!! ESP WITH DUAL SPEC YESSSS
Honestly pick pocketing done at the right times of phase progression can be very good gold. Star Ruby at launch, HP/mana pots during raid release. Doesn't hold a candle to hunter/mage/warlock but would be the king of melee gold farm potential.
I played a rogue in original 2019 classic (still play this rogue every week even in cata) but specifically in 2019 I loved every min of being a rogue. The class is so fun and ur so powerful ur just playing a different game. Pve I always was smiling when I would see me or another rogue on the top of the meters above like 5-6 warriors and pickpocket farming in BRD is very easy once you get the route down I watched A LOT of movies/tv during those runs.
I have been playing Tarkov and no one in the community cares about wow (obviously) it’s really nice to see other people excited. I want to do another fury prot orc warrior and main tank some easy ass content.
rogue is definitely not a 3/5 star for levelling, they are one of the best. By the time you get 30 in the combat tree you are cooking it through mobs, little down time and a ton of "get away" abilities.
I have to disagree with a couple points: 1: Ele shaman is THE strongest pvp spec for AB and WSG teamfights, and should be 5* 2: Hunters are definitely 5* for PvP since they are the best AV teamfighter, the best flag defender in AB, and only lose in 1v1 to troll shadowpriest and a soul link warlock, which is a niche duel spec. 3: Mages are definitely strong in pvp, but they are not the best overall pvp class.

Def going druid this time, with dual spec i could either go fully into both directions in feral, or i could have one feral build and one resto/balance build. Will be really nice
Watched every one of your 2019 classic vids and ill watch all of these too
Would definitely love the tbc class video you mentioned at the end
Wait what is this, for real. They have a new classic out? I’m going to have to check this out tonight after work.
WillE with the only truly elite 2024 class guide
I miss the "Willie here" and the little gnome head pop up
I keep going back and fourth between gnome warrior or mage....warrior is so fun when it works well but mage is better for solo pvp. However getting your hands on some cool weapons is an amazing feeling, not sure what to pick. I just wanna pvp a lot and have fun with friends!
im rolling war like everyone else but ill still watch this video
Wish I had the time to go through it for the 3rd time.
I've never played a cloth class and would love to combine raiding and PvP-ing on a shadowpriest. Alas, no time at all :)
As usual awesome guides! I am hoping you would also be willing to make a guide for those of us who want to level characters for TBC since it's confirmed XD
I think a class combo video would be grand.
Nice video, what addons do you use? I love to see on my target health the time left of a polymorf aswell
Dual specc and Debuff limit removal is PERFECT
Petition to let rogues pickpocket patterns and recipes lol
Hey i feel ya man but i dont think ill be joining ima stay on my wrath pserver
i think these communities kinda overlap tho, tarkov is the closest we have to an mmorpg shooter
Undead rogue time :D
WILL IS BACK!
Today is the day baby!
Looking forward to the auto-attack grind as a Paladin once again XD
Going Cat druid like I did when the game released I love cat.
When you play in a casual guild you can get top 5 dps as rogue and hold up with warrior
SO keen to make a warlock in preperation for TBC. Bring on those fat shadowbolts!
Ive always been melee, so this time ill go range. Most likely warlock since tbc as well. Probably make a paladin alt for tbc as well too lol
Planning on a Priest never healed at end game
To me this new fresh is just the TBC waiting room, so I'm taking my time this time
Hours before launch and still unsure what to play this go
Feeling deja vu with this wille
Tauren feral druid for me, never played Horde, now is the chance :D. If i cant go into raids later ill just leave it until TBC
There is only warrior. Warrior is love, warrior is life.
You should do the tbc class change video again
Good content WillE!
Undead Priest here w gooo
Struggling to choose between Shaman and Priest. Just cant decide
i know every single piece of information in all these videos, but i still watch every single one from all the different creators.
rogue is definitely not a 3/5 star for levelling, they are one of the best. By the time you get 30 in the combat tree you are cooking it through mobs, little down time and a ton of "get away" abilities.
I have to disagree with a couple points:
1: Ele shaman is THE strongest pvp spec for AB and WSG teamfights, and should be 5*
2: Hunters are definitely 5* for PvP since they are the best AV teamfighter, the best flag defender in AB, and only lose in 1v1 to troll shadowpriest and a soul link warlock, which is a niche duel spec.
3: Mages are definitely strong in pvp, but they are not the best overall pvp class.
What server are you rolling on Will?
Forever and always, feral Druid.
classes going into TBC would be cool
showing old dps charts with debuff limits dosent help
