    I be laughing so hard when Matt attempts to make a beat and he freaks TF out it's so comical. Both groups killed it. The producers obviously had the better production but it's noticeable they don't rap often. The rappers had no issue with lyrics or flow but struggled hard to find a compressor lol. This goes to show that both parts are needed equally unless you're someone who's willing to learn it all. Good video, make more like this.

    I remember my first time recording in a studio and meeting the producer. I thought I had my whole song put together before I walked in, but he added so much more. It blew my mind! The producer can make everything so much better. Hats off to producers!
    I showed up to an open mic at a bar in Durham NC, with only my guitar, and there was a producer working the sound equipment. As I performed my song, he picked up on the chorus and flow and added reverb and all kinds of effects to it, and he had never heard my song before. I felt like he was performing with me. It was pure synergy.

      @@ryanmcgonigle1118 What I gathered is that the beat was 10X better than what the rappers could come up with, but the rappers knew how to effectively layer vocal lines, put in proper add-libs, and perform live. Imo the producer's lyrics were a bit more interesting, but they didn't do too much other than single recordings of each of their voice lines. Each one plays to their strengths but since producers manage so much more of the overall workflow they were able to do so much more with almost everything. You can have your opinions on which song you thought sounded better (and I respect it, everyone has different tastes), but skill-wise these producers had the upper hand.

      @@kv-31researchdivision The question was not "whos lyrics were better". The question is which song was better. The rappers had the better song. Thats facts. I used to thing the producers carry. This showed that they both play a huge role. But a song is nothing without the artist. Honestly without both. Honestly drake could rock out on a mid beat it could still be a banger. A mid rapper on a great beat. Not so easily a banger. In my opinion. My opinion has changed greatly

    As an artist I will always have so much respect for what producers do. There’s so many intricacies and a seemingly infinite amount of different ways to manipulate sounds. I think artists and producers complete each other. You can have one without the other but when you put two skilled in their lane you get beautiful art.

  • @DDiltzProductions
    @DDiltzProductions 9 місяців тому +1

    Bro please make this a series this is amazing! Everyone had such good energy and pushed themselves out of the comfort zone 💯
    I definitely think that when it comes to artists & producers we need to get rid of the us vs them mindset. We are meant to be a unit to bring forth a common goal: to make great music! With that being said I think stepping into each other’s shoes really helps bring new perspectives in your own craft. For example, a producer getting in the mindset of the artist will allow them new perspectives on how to produce and the artist learns more about production which can change how they write a song.
    I also think that when you focus on being a musician at the core, it makes navigating other areas of music easier. For example, I am originally classically trained and play multiple instruments which made learning production and beat making easier. After a lot of practice in beat making, engineering became an interest. And after a lot of practice engineering other artists I started using my own life experiences to write songs. Who knows where I’ll be lead to next 🙌🏼
    Much love from Houston (Dallas native)

    The way I see it is an artist can become a great producer but the same can’t be said vice versa. But in the case (2 producers/artists with little to no prior experience in songwriting/production) I think the producers are definitely more important and did better. Most of the songs nowadays rely on great beats and production, you have to be really unique to stand out.

    Absolute Amazing experiment to see. As an Artist who mixes vocals and raps... Producing definitely Is more difficult, and producing takes alot of time to learn, while rapping takes some time to actually be really good at. While dealing with alot more competition and performances, but Both are talents so never forget there both an ART so much love to all "Artists" 🙏🖤
