    Producers from his era didn’t need tags because they all had unique sounds. Today everyone sounds like each other so a tag is necessary.

    • @supermatt-99
      @supermatt-99 2 роки тому +41

      tags are ridiculous nowadays, some producers even pay for people to make their tags or ask their friend to say something and make it a tag. Tags like Metro's make a lot of sense, he took a catchy line from a hit song of his and made it into a tag, I don't get people and their tags nowadays paying for them, go and do a collab project with an artist and get him to say something with your name and if it'll turn out to be a hit song, use that for a tag, otherwise don't bother paying for a random tag

I have been a long time fan and grew up in the generation he debut in, and even I didn't know about his servere injury from an attack. We almost never HAD a Timbo!! I like what he is doing for the community. I agree that the community just feels like it's imploding with people selling beats for $1 and all the stealing and crazy stuff. Having a place to go that has structure is cool. Something better than beat stars that you get the feedback that you really need to be successful. I don't think AI can replace humans... it's a tool. I think in some instances that it may make sense for someone to use the music that it creates. I would just worry about being creative like Tim is always advocating. He has the right mindset about music and is why he is so successful. I am focusing on being better period and finding my style. I think it's important part of being a producer, being able to reinvent yourself all the time. It's the one thing that really shows your devotion to the craft.

    This man is a humble producer because he's made millions, lived that dream life of luxury and still does but he knows that feeling and still feels that feeling that you don't think you're good enough and that is what makes him great.

      Ask Timbaland... Pony came out 3 years before Aaliyah's "If Your Girl Only Knew." When it blew up, it was like a song in the bag nobody ever heard.

    I’ve been producing for 16 years. I don’t even make hip-hop. Rarely sometimes for a client, but I mainly make electronic music. Timbaland is probably my biggest production influence. It was undeniable listening to his music back in the day that he was something special. I couldn’t help but pay attention.
