it's only ten hours long if you know the solution to every puszzle along the way and are familiar with the layout. no-one is finishing it in under 15 hours first time i would suggest. the playthroughs on youtube are ten hours and they never die once.
I don't understand game reviewer's concept of time. You guys are like "this is a 10 hour game". How? To beat this game in 10 hours you would have to read nothing, explore nothing, have a guide book in hand, never die, etc. I liked the honest review overall and can't wait for a sequel.
Listen, most gamers who buy games like this are not completionists. Some of us just want to go through the game and enjoy it till the end. All the rest is additional content. ADDIDIONAL! Meaning it is meant ADD to the MAIN content. And no, I completed the game in exactly 8 hours and 37 minutes and I did exploring (not fully obviously), never used ANY guides and died quite a few times
I second you. My epic account counts 40 hours and i got 30 hours on steam because i decided to buy Ultimate edition and complete dlcs. And i still have dlc bosses unkilled
How the heck you they finish control in 10 hours??? My total playtime is about 50 hours! I explore every nook and cranny because there are a LOT of secret area in this game!
Have you heard of the mini series show "the lost room"? Its a few years old but it could be in the remedy universe. Objects of power and a weird hotel room. I think they pulled some inspiration from it. If you like the game, check out that mini series.
@@guimeph you could just watch it anytime you want - it's of three 1.5 hours episodes. It's very good and fun show. You won't be spoiling anything about the game but you'll have a great time
Very good game, and I agree with your point about gameplay length isn't much. That said, Control Ultimate edition is often on sale at really good prices. No reason not to pickup at the discounted prices
I do agree that the game left me wanting more. More content to sink my teeth in and it's both good and bad because on one hand, it is short but otherwise the premise and presentation/story is what makes it interesting. For me, the weakest part was the combat. The guns/skills/mods were the bare minimum same with enemy variety. I hope if they plan on some remake as is the latest craze to address these issues, especially the enemy variety. Or maybe they'll do that on the sequel/prequel w/e they got planned. Overall, a great game that's just a bit shy of being recognized as such.
Played this when it was on Gamepass on X1S but dropped it after mission 5. Recently picked up the XSX edition on sale and its obviously a Much better experience. Still HATE the Hiss chant though, so irritating. Its why i decided to just play the game as a power fantasy by enabling the cheat mode and playing that with 50% energy boost
I don't use to play linear history games, but this was gifted to me about two years, so i just tried right now, well i played something like 1-2 hours yet.... but I'm having a really cool time, I love that we can destroy a lot o things... not sure if i will finish it, but I'll try... anyway just saying that until for me that don't like this kind of games are being a nice experience, I guess what got me are the mistery, i wanna know why she have that powers... you should try, i guess!
Played it through on game pass for free (at the time) and then purchased the DLC’s. I loved the game. It did drag in some spots but it always picked back up. Now for me, the game lasted longer than 10 hours. I explored 100% of everything and got the outfits and upgrades. Was it necessary? No. But I did it because I didn’t want the game to end lol. Really looking forward to part two!
I play it on ps4 and got the platinum now on ps5 which i bough it at $ 9 but i have 20 hrs so far granted im a completionist and explore everything and on this second playthrough i havent even finish the main story theres optional bosses to which are the best in my opinion
I definitely feel you on not paying 40+ dollars on games less than 10 hours long, even if it's great. For ten bucks on a sale though this seems like a steal, imma go for it. Thanks for the review
I have a 3080 RTX and a 1440p monitor with 165 Hz refresh rate. I can play the game at max graphics (including ultra Ray Tracing) and pull about 85-100 fps. My problem is everytime I enter a live action video or cutscene, I get major screen tearing and studders (vsync on/off doesn't change anything). Are the cutscenes only optimized for 60fps? I don't see an fps limiter in the game settings either. Is anyone else having this problem? Edit: I've noticed most games (especially console ports) will let you play at the highest fps possible but limit cutscenes to 30 or 60 fps, Control doesn't do that and it's a little older so that's why I think that's my problem, but idk for sure.
Yes, there is a fix listed for this issue in the PCGamingWiki page of the game: Download and open Nvidia Profile Inspector. On the top left side, using the 'Profiles' drop-down menu, type in or navigate to and select 'Control'. Scroll down to the fifth section titled '5 - Common' and find 'rBAR - Feature', change this feature from 'Enabled' to 'Disabled'. On the top right side, click 'Apply changes'.
For me; once I stopped caring about the story, I started to enjoy the game. Now I feel like I'm just playing a chick with force powers fighting space zombies in Matrix/Soul Reaver shapeshifting world.
I thought it was one of the least boring games I’ve played in years. Boring would be the 1000th co op looter shooter this year. Or another massive open world with a ton of fetch quests and no interesting story plots or characters

Control is a masterpiece from Remedy they made nothing but good games! Highly recommended and can't wait for the sequel.
emm no, to me this game is a 6 out of 10 for many reasons, you're free to express your opinion of course.

Picked it up today going in knowing nothing , it’s so clean / smooth n 30 mins in the mysterious lingering feeling is awesome

I got a steam bundle with Disco Elysium for less than 10USD
on xbox pass its free now
i have it in my Epic game library, it was free on Epic once before ,the base game without DCLs
Took me 75 hours to complete this game. How the HELL did you finish in 15 hours! I mean, I spent at least that much on the Foundation DLC alone.

I loved that game. Never finished it though as my life became too busy. But I think I play it again on PS5

Subbed, just because you respect the viewers' time.
Great review!
I LOOK AT CONTROL AS A SCI-FI OPEN WORLD MADNESS TYPE VIBE.
Games like control & etc will have me streaming all night.
I got it for free as PS Plus game of the month. Great game
It would be nice if you added subtitles to your videos...
I got it for free on Epic, but after finishing the story, I feel robbed! The ending sours the whole experience.
lol, just got this for 5.80 EUR after processing fee - agreed, asking price is absurd
I tried many times to start it but the running around is too tedious and boring as hell.
Take in the atmosphere
i wish they had a new game+ plus scalability... Got it free on EGS free last Christmas.
My play through was like 40 hours
I don’t think you have to grind any they throw so many enemies at you
I want more we need control 2
Can't stand cry baby gamers that think game length makes it intrinsically "worth it"
Yes. Bye.
It’s honestly a boring game
