Ah yes, Jirachi... The pokemon I sort of kind of stole from my ex? Long story short, when I was like... 15 or 16, i was dating a guy and he was helping me fill out my Pokedex in Black version, and he lent me his Jirachi. Something came up and one of us had to go before we could trade back and we said we'd do it later. Later never came because he was a jerk and I dumped him and I got Jirachi in the divorce.
My Blue Version still has a level 100 Mewtwo a friend traded me to help me beat the elite four (I was 6 at the time and bad at games, had absolutely no idea what I was doing) Kind of forgot to trade it back, don’t even remember the guys name, haven’t seen him in over 20 years
Man that's a funny story. Take good care of it I guess, since it's kinda like winning a child in a custody battle or something idk. I just find this funny
Jirachi is my favorite pokemon because of a very specific event in my life. I was living in a trailer park at the time of me being around 9 or so being broke. My brother offers to go into a nearby trailer that was marked for demolition because the people who were living there had abandoned the house and they used to be hoarders. Anyways, like any young impressionable child, I agree and go into with him inside. Most things were messy and a couple of toys were left behind, one of which was a Jirachi plush missing it's tags (along with two broken beyblades). When we get back, I took some of the fabric of an old blanket that had similar colors to the tags and sewed them on (albeit poorly) on the plushie, and named her Sachi as a corruption of the name of Jirachi and thought it was cute. Later on, my mom helped me sew the tags on properly with proper wish tags when we were able to afford it. I still have her to this day in my mid 20's tucked in my bed and regularly put her atop my christmas tree whenever its that time of year.
i really like jirachi as a mythical, it's just such a silly little sleeping shooting star also yes, as a part of chat during that bdsp fossil run stream, i CAN confirm we did in fact let it happen the little bdsp event is neat because you need to have seen a WISHing STAR
The legends games should honestly have a focus on the side legends more than the main ones or make them at least important to the plot. Mystery dungeon was able to tell a story on both celebi and dialga on how they interact with time
I've always liked the design of Jirachi. I'm currently using it on my BDSP team and it's not even funny how broken it is. And while I technically have finished its movie all the way through, I did enjoy it's friendship with Max from what I did see.
It’s cool that they give it to you at a low level, but that doesn’t matter when it hits like a meteor at that point in the game. Let the diabolical laughter ensue.
A level 14 Jirachi in Floaroma could still probably sweep Gardenia, assuming you don't get seeded by Turtwig early on or get paralyzed by Roserade you could probably power through a couple of Petal Blizzards and kick it over with just Confusion. Yeah mythicals are not balanced XD
I love my Jirachi that I got from Pokémon Channel many years ago. Completing Channel was incredibly tedious but it was great to receive my first Mythical. It's journeyed with me through all the Gens and now lives on my Switch
Great video. Not much I can say about Jirachi besides that I do like it's design and it has some interesting lore but it would be great to see more of it in Legends ZA- if it does appear.
I wish everybody had a stomach eye, is so far away that if the main head eyes dont work the stomach eye might still work and then blind people could see from that eye instead
Doom Desire could be a wish that was so twisted it destroyed a timeline hence why Jirachi has to open its third eye to use it and why it takes a turn to charge.
Jirachi is a cool little dude. I like the inspiration behind it with the streamers on its head and the overall star shape of it. My favorite memory of it was the event one that knows Draco Meteor. It is not optimal in the slightest, but the idea of this star pixie calling down a draconic meteor storm is too good to not use. He’s still chillin on my shield copy, waiting to wake up from his slumber and rain hell once again

Jirachi is no different, Steel types are my favorite and I also have an affinity for stars and space~ Recently I had a fun unique experience using Jirachi for my first BD run and it was so cool getting to use an appropriate-level mythic for the adventure! I remember that special event Draco Meteor Jirachi too! I wish I still had it to this day! I'd like to add to the topic of Jirachi, I liked how in Explorers of Sky it had a special role with Bidoof who was on the quest to have a wish granted!
I was so surprised and happy when I got my Jirachi on Brilliant Diamond for previously playing Sword. 🌟 I was gifted it early on in the game and it quickly become my ace and now one of my favourites overall! ✨

Bruh when I was a kid, for some reason, I thought the draco meteor jirachi was super special or different or something, and was black and blue and white, like eternal flower floette vibes. I wasn't sure how to get it but I was so amazed by it I started to write a fanfic of it with Pokémon OCs that were basically regional variants a decade ahead of time--on flipnote hatena, of all places! Nowadays I'm way too happy about how many mythicals we can now get straight from a save file, especially since I love being able to make multiple save files on the switch. I can use or at least obtain a low level jirachi every time I play through the gorgeous and faithful bdsp. Cherry on top lol

Jirachi also had a bonus episode in pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky which stuck to me as memorable for a couple of reasons (none of which i want to spoil, go play PMDsky, its the best pokemon game by a long shot)
Jirachi is one of my top 5 favorite mythical pokemon. Both Meloetta and Victini are at a tie for being my favorites. Though for me Jirachi is my second favorite. My least favorite mythical might be Manaphy and Phione. Sorry you two but you look like a Sonic character than a Pokemon character. Also you remind me of Chaos and Chao. I love Jirachi as a simple star pokemon and they are inspired by Japanese lore. Love how simple its design is. Jirachi Wishmaker was a Pokemon movie I enjoyed. It's not my favorite movie though I did enjoyed the third Pokemon movie with Entei. Anyways I love how yellow and blue green is mixed. I loved how Jirachi's appearance feels cute or eerie with its third eye on their stomach, star like shaped head and the white balances as a contrast. Too bad Jirachi was hard to attain and Tbskyen even though he's my favorite Character Design youtuber darn it did he slandered poor Jirachi. Our Jirachi deserves a better grade Tbskyen, the pokemon is based on mythical things....
I used Jirachi in my Shining Pearl playthrough along with Mew and Manaphy, because when do you get the chance to use a mythical, let alone three, on a team?
It’s meant to be more like a forbidden or secret type of desire. I at least know that from the Spanish name which is Deseo Oculto, and that just means Hidden Desire. So Doom Desire in English works.
Iirc the jirachi you get from bdsp is a one time thing if you obtain it in one playthrough than reaet that save file you cant get it again as it one per copy

Moon and can find 2 fossils there plus the Old Amber nearby in Pewter Also in the anime episode Brock said it the meteor hit in prehistoric times too
For a good 10 years Jirachi was my favorite mythical/legendary. Very cute and inviting design, and I was a space kid. I feel like Cosmog was a re up on the concept of a cute star based legendary/mythical pokemon but at that point was too jaded to care 😂
