I think Gail's people have found out about Richard as this video would never have happened otherwise. Richard makes the mystery of transmissions entertaining and very educational to the growing audience. No one would have guessed that a transmission shop UA-cam channel would have been a thing. My wife and I halfway through this video were discussing this very topic .
And did you see those planetaries ?! My God, those things are massive.

@@bankspower much respect for saying that. They are an amazing family. With so many sketch people in the transmission business... it’s people like Precision that rebuilt my faith in the area. Such kind and caring people. They deserve some love. Seriously. Maybe do some kind of collaborative effort with them to help spread the word about their business/channel. I’m all about supporting good people and I think BANKS shares that same theme too. Cheers to Gale and the BANKS team! 🙏

It’s so refreshing to see a president of a company actually know the ins and outs of their product without just reading off a sales sheet. The fact that Clint can casually assemble a transmission from scratch while talking us through the function of each piece is proof that he knows his stuff!

Go to any diesel page and ask about these transmission. 80% are dissatisfied and have gone through several transmissions and ended up going with a different company. Clearly by the way these comments are going it’s a common opinion. I have no first hand experience with them so I don’t have a real opinion, besides all the negative I’ve seen on multiple pages, videos, and groups.

@@bradfordcustoms7588 Here's the thing about groups, and old-school online forums.. when's the last time you posted about that amazing cheeseburger you had or the great 75W90 rear gear oil? What we're saying is that online groups are typically places where people gather to commiserate rather than celebrate. For example, there are approximately 86,000 Duramax-powered trucks produced per year. Of those 86k truck owners, only a fraction are online and when they do go online, it's typically to ask a question about a problem they're facing. So, as you're scrolling through groups you're not seeing the vast majority of Duramax owners are driving their trucks problem-free. We believe that could also be the case with ATS. They sell thousands of transmissions. Regardless, we'll be transparent with our experience.

I still can't for the life of me understand why ya'll have such a hard on for the Allison transmission. My only guess is becuae it is going to be an engine/transmission offered together for one price. For building a no holds show vehicle, it is a huge let down. Tellin ya, should have just went with a ZF6 Like what GM offered in the LB7 and LLY. On top of that, ATS has some of the worst history of holding together. This just isn't my opinion either. Vast amounts of information can be found easily online about them.

Dry clutches and no lube on the planets, etc...seriously? Maybe an Allison is different, but that's not how I have seen ANY other auto built...EVER. And when did he actually check end play?

This was a mock-up transmission. It was torn down after the video.

Allison such a boujie name for a trans. Why couldn’t Chrysler name the 47/48 like marilyn, Jennifer, Beyonce or something? 🤦‍♂️

Why is he not soaking the clutches in tranny fluid ?!!!

The trans that Clint built on camera was just a mock-up assembly for the video. It was broken down, pre-soaked, and re-assembled. Clint didn't do it for the sake of time in the video.

thumbs down for the fake video call but mostly for choosing "ATS" . I hope Mr Banks will eventually be honest with us his viewers and if/when that transmission fails he will make it public !
