- With a massive group of fans, friends and journalists gathered, Gale Banks unveils LokJaw, our '66 Chevy pickup truck, at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. More than a year ago, the Banks team purchased a running '66 Chevy C20 pickup truck from a fan for $1. Flash forward and that truck has been transformed into an incredible display of technology and horsepower. It's the home for Banks' prototype R866SC supercharged Duramax diesel engine. If you've followed the BANKS BUILT series, this is a must-watch.

Here's the plan! We're going to fire up the engine IN the truck and take it to some car shows. Then, after we've put a few miles on the truck, we'll pull the engine and put it in the dyno cell for evaluation and fine-tuning. You'll meet our calibrators, Jeff and Aaron, who will tune and prepare it for mass production.
I cannot wait to hear that beast run. One of the coolest customs I have ever seen.
@@kyleolin3566 ditto for me too. Lol
Thank you Banks, thank you so much!
I'll be waiting to see all of that!
You're the Man !
Enjoy your builds
Wow what an awesome build! The Whipple sticking out of the hood was just badass to see! Thanks for taking us all along for ride Banks Team!
Thank you for your support of the build and watching along the way. We love hearing from our fans! Stay tuned for more, season 2 is just around the corner.
Gale Bakes truly a national treasure
Thanks @GaleBanks for bringing us along for the ride!
Awesome work from Gale Banks and his team at Banks power! Super high five to Eric and his mad skills! What a journey this build is taken. Looking forward to seeing what's to come. Congrats to the Banks Crew!
I bow to Mr. Banks, the team members and all the suppliers of this build. The UA-cam videos of this build have been a great pleasure to watch and seeing it at SEMA was icing on the cake. Congratulations to Banks Power!
I can't wait to see this actually driving!
We'll be smokin' the tires before Christmas.
@@bankspower Christmas isn't Christmas...without Christmas smoke. Its beautiful Gale.
It's a bit of a shame that so much of the final build process was lost in the crunch. We spent ages going over every detail in depth but in the end everything was thrown together in one episode. I guess this is an unfortunate side effect of strict deadlines.
That being said I have thoroughly enjoyed your build series and I'm grateful to the team for all the effort they have put in to bring us along!
I've waited a long time to see this build finished, and it was well worth the wait. Banks have done a stellar job of this, It is stunning, the dedication and commitment has paid off! Thank you for allowing us to see the process and finished product. I looked forward to seeing what this beast can do! Also, it was cool to see Uncle Rich in this video too.
I had to create a playlist just for this build. Absolutely phenomenal.
Love to hear this. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Looking forward to seeing what the emissions look like at the final power output.
The interaction between Gale and Rich at the end - speed guys are speed guys, all over the world, we all think the same answers :D
Those inner fenders are fantastic. Most people throw them away but these are a focal point of the engine bay. Well done.
Mr Banks could sure make a great president!! He’s got that swagger!
So looking forward to hearing it run and seeing a drive can't wait
Same here, we are going to fully send this truck into existence with a massive burn out when we crank it up for the first time.
I was lucky enough to see this truck at the SEMA Show and was totally impressed by it. What an amazing creation. I was also fortunate enough to have a long conversation with Matt and found him to be a really nice guy who is also smart as a whip! I'm looking forward to see the continuation of the saga on You Tube.
Loved seeing Rich Rebuilds talking with Gale, that could produce some fun projects!!
Only Banks has the resources to pull that off in that timeframe. I have seen some fine fabrication but everything is always shadowed by how much this company can get done in so short time! There is not a single compromise on any of Banks builds our product it's just perfect, Gale is the lord of diesel! All hail Gale!
So glad to hear this is going to be a production engine. Not real sure my wife is happy about it, since her '18 Chevy can receive the top end love. But, she'll be repaid in "smiles" per hour.
Excellent job gentlemen. All of you. Now, let's see it SHRED!
Great result, guys. It is over 25 years since I last pulled silly hours to complete a building project OR got by with that minimal level of sleep during a military exercise and I fully respect that you did those hours whilst producing mechanical and structural engineering of that quality.
I am looking forward to the future episodes of this series.
The Legend! This was so great to see at the show this year. Thank you guys for doing all you do.
Awesome build.. love the blower..👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you to everyone involved for such an excellent build series! I can't wait to see what's coming next:)
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching.
I was really hoping to hear it run! Oh well I'm sure we'll hear it soon. The supercharger and intake horns look so sweet and the fact that the wheels pull air through the brakes is insanely awesome!
Well done gents! That is an awesome build! I want a pair of the hood hinges!
I've been a gearhead and tinker'r all my years and appreciate all the work the people at Banks do, and especially Gale's knowledge. Longtime follower and customer. "When perfect will have to do."
Right on, thank you for watching and following the series.
LOOOVE the engineering behind this truck. Crazy how a supercharged 6.6 diesel makes that much horsetorques n little to no soot. Kudos!!!
Definitely one of the coolest projects at SEMA, leave it to Gale, ever the pioneer and innovator, hats off to Gale and the boys and all the other suppliers. Great stuff. Gale is the real deal and no doubt a survivor of the phases of the industry, Fantastic.
Gale Banks one of the best in the industry hands down.
Thank you!
Can't wait to see it on the dyno
You all have done an amazing job to get it all put together for those always impending deadlines. I am in awe of your team and cannot wait to see the rest of the development series.
Need to hear it run! Looks beautiful guys GREAT JOB!
That's one nice truck all the custom details are not only great looking but also have a performance enhancement to them
What an amazing truck! Well done everyone at Banks and beyond who build this! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! I'm SO excited to see that engine on the dyno!
Great video. Go to see a leader (Banks) thanking his team (all the supporting vendors). I wish I could have seen Lockjaw in person, and all the great minds all in one place at SEMA thanks for sharing. Now im still drooling to know what Gale learned to have him go to a supercharger.
Well done to everyone involved. It is a function piece of priceless artwork. It has been so awesome watching this build, thank you for sharing this experience.
I’ve been right with you on all of the utube videos and want to congratulate all of the team from Banks and the many highly skilled professionals who worked so hard to make it to SEMA. Great videos and a great build and I look forward to the continuing developments.
I can't wait till the DROP in Diesel Banks Motor. 🙏🏻💪🏆👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
That is one awesome truck Team Banks. I watched the whole series from day 1 and can't wait to see the rest you guys have in store.
Can’t wait until the motor is on the market
Our family members at banks Dwight from skips automotive machining wished we could be there with you all for unveiling of lockjaw
Your workmenship just gets better by the day
God bless your American made methods
God bless the Banks family and their employees! Their diesel concept is the future.....
Wow! Gotta say, Gale Banks is a hero --
This is an awesome video series, you all did such a great job on the truck! Can't wait to see more.
I love this so much I work 13 hour day every day I literally come home and can’t wait to watch love y’all so much can’t wait to see that beast doing real street pulls 🖤🖤❤️❤️
Such a phenomenal build by the Banks team! Can't wait to get my coins up to have Gale build an LML and L5P for me! Durtymax for the WIN!!!!!!!!!
They had me at supercharged Duramax! 🇺🇲
This is what it's all about. First an idea, then the design, onto the engineering, and more redesigning until perfected. Never giving up just leaning forward all the way. That's just the icing on the cake. Can't wait to see the videos on the performance side of the NASTY L5P. Banks just might change the rotation of the earth! Get you some of that!
Finally! Sema was 2 weeks ago!! What an awesome build
Well, if you are disappointed ask for your money back......Oh wait!
congrats on a beauty brought to new life, can i get a lockjaw sticker?great team work
Well done to everyone involved.
Got hooked on the video series, it would have been worth the trip to see it live at SEMA.
Really amazing!! Great job for all the people that worked so hard. Again great great job
Thank you so much! We loved building this truck, and we love hearing from our fans. Stay tuned for more action coming in season 2.
Amazing job guys. So excited to see that motor on the dyno. Gale Banks you Sir are a invaluable piece of history and continue to be on top. I would love to pick your brain about a couple of projects I have going. I try my best to absorb all the knowledge I can from your videos Thank you Sir for sharing.
Great job looking forward too seeing it run
U guys did an awesome job, the time and effort that this involved is mind blowing
Man, you guys put your heart and soul into that truck! But it sure shows! Great job!
You got that right! Thank you for watching!
EXCELLENT WORK !!! THE BEST THERE IS !!!!!!!!
Watched every minute of the build, this is probably my favorite truck of all time.
We are humbled. Thank you for watching and for the compliments.
What an incredible build. This is such a cool concept. It must be a dream to drive.
So far this is a fabulous silent movie …can’t wait till you add the sound!!
Finally a full reveal 👍👍👍👍 can’t wait to hear this monster fire up and shred some tires
Truck is amazing the engine is just crazy I can’t wait to hear and see it run #Bankspower
Absolutely INSANE!!! I love it!
Thank you Banks, thank you so much!
Great job. Long live the internal combustion engine.
I've never seen zombies..... untill now 🤣😂
😂😂
Crazy cool truck one of a kind.
And to think it is only just starting.
👌👍
I’m glad you guys got it done, great work. I hope to see it out on a track. A little better scheduling for next year! 😂
Like to see the tuning process ... before and after what the numbers are
I want all this! Keep it an 8lug, heck yeah.
Amazing build !
Much respect to Mr. Banks and his team
Such a nice rig you have built I would love that combo on my 83 Chevy 3/4 4x4
It's badass artwork!
I have watched this series and I doubt that it could have been more interesting. Also Gale to me is a deity with the way he operates. When I was much younger I had the first private shop with a chassis dyno in Canada and what Gale Banks has accomplished was also my ambition however my family (partners) did not share the same vision. I hope Gale stays young for ever I love what he is doing.
Lets hear it run!
I can't wait to hear it...and the Gale Banks fedora hat test drive too. Lol...I am kidding, I'm kidding...Lol
He said he would so I'm looking forward to it
Wow the fab on this , great job !
True Mastery in the art of Hot Rodding
Banks is a pinnacle of engineering it’s absolutely beautiful, I’m curious on how it drives lol
BANKS POWER !!!!
What a great build! Would you ever build a budget friendly setup? Thank you for the content
Been following this l5p for awhile now 👍🤘💥
Can’t wait for more vids
When are the T-shirts coming out? If you are going to be on UA-cam you have to put out shirts to support the build, and if not the build, a charity.
Those wheels are so cool
Oh i see Ronnie in the back at the end looking forward to hear this on C10Talk!
Gale will be hard to replace one day. Such a smart guy! Hope everyone takes the time to learn as much as they can from.
this stuff is way above my head but fun to watch !!!!
One of the coolest projects ever thrown at UA-cam! Congrats on making it to SEMA with a real driveshaft- can’t wait to see the rest. So great that you take us through the engineering and thought process instead of slapping parts on and calling it good. Keep it up!
Stunning build. I was hoping for an old 2 tone instead of the patina but oh well. And of course a slick manual transmission. But I'm a dreamer.
i believe they discussed painting it in one of the episodes but Gale wanted this to be original....now a days if you are not putting in a dual clutch auto transmission (that can can do manual with electronic levers) you will be left at the line, especially with that much power....
Thanks guys for a great built and great series of videos. Was Lockjaw driven on the street prior to SEMA? I haven’t seen any road tests.
Sweet!👍
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
If every Banks customer lived by that, Banks would have no business. The aftermarket industry is all about fixing things that aren’t broken. I’m so excited for the top speed run, by the way.
That is crazy awesome would love to have an engine like that in my truck
I hate that it won’t make it to the east coast. Can’t wait to see more
Coolest sleeper truck!!!
You got that right!
Well done
To Gale & Eric and the rest of the team...Well Done. You should be proud of what you did with Lockjaw. Gale we all know you are very much into diesel but couldn't you make some of your stuff for GAS engines....OK..i will go time out in the corner for asking that.... :)......thx guys I really enjoy you shows
He has said in other videos that he is not a diesel guy, but a forced induction guy. Diesel just lends itself to forced induction better than gas, so it has gotten his attention more.
What things are you talking about? Ram Air intakes, headers, i-dash, twin turbo gasoline V8? There are some things. I'm sure there is more on the website
Lok jaw is badass I wish I could drive it or ride in it you guys made one badass truck
