Try making Turmeric rice as the yellow color gives the rice a totally different appeal.

You are my kind of cook! I get so frustrated with recipes that call for 50 different ingredients, half of which I never heard of and the other half require a worldwide search to obtain. And if you do, you realize that the cost was 2 or 3 times what is costs to go to a restaurant for the same thing. Your recipes and presentations are a fresh breath of spring. Thank you!

Hey, I’m just curious if it turned out really dry or not. When he removed the chicken breast the rice looked dry. I have tried a recipe similar to this, but I didn’t add the rice until the last hour or so. I also shredded the chicken before I added the rice.

Try substituting chicken broth for the water. Add a little more according to (approximately) how much will be absorbed by the rice. This should keep the chicken moist as well as infuse additional chicken flavor into the meat.

This is a triple dose of salt. The bouillon cube, your rub or seasoning salt and soy sauce (I would skip the rub/seasoning salt and the soy sauce). @3:48 try adding a touch more water or keep the chicken skin on to have that fat. You could also add a bit of cooking oil or butter which will keep it all moist and add more flavor. I would add some fresh herbs to this such as oregano or basil. Onion and garlic sounds good as well.

I leave the skin on my chicken. My dietician (I have type one diabetes), tells me fat is not the enemy, SUGAR, carbs and SALT are.
I crisp the skin up in the skillet before putting it in the crock pot. I know it's an extra step, but I think it's worth it.
For rice, I use wild brown rice, (IN MODERATION), cause it impacts my glucose less. (for those dealing with sugar issues)
