      I don’t think paprika has any flavor

    I have to try this. Most recipes on youtube call for chicken breast, which is about as flavorful as a wad of toilet paper. Yours sounds great.

    Going to try this! Do you rinse the rice first? Presume you do but didn't notice.

    Would you recommend adding all the drippings from that pan into the crockpot as well? Or woukd that make it too greasy?

    • @carolbaughan8768
      @carolbaughan8768 Місяць тому

      Cool the pan drippings, scrape off the fat. The remaining jelly is great for the soup stock.

    • @carolbaughan8768
      @carolbaughan8768 Місяць тому

      Keep it, cool it, scrape off the fat, use as soup stock with leftovers and bones.

    • @EatingonaDime
      @EatingonaDime  Місяць тому +1

      We think it makes it too greasy and will float to the top of the crock pot.

    Olive oil has a low smoke point. Use avocado oil.

    Is there any liquid to rice ratio that I should follow for this? For example, if I use 2 cups of rice, how much liquid should I use? Will it be a 1:1 ratio (2 cups of liquid for 2 cups of rice)? Thanks!

    • @EatingonaDime
      @EatingonaDime  Місяць тому +1

      I would say 1-1 ratio. If t feels weird since normally it is a 1-2 ratio but this will prefer the rice from being mushy

    • @Azaroth1329
      @Azaroth1329 Місяць тому

      Thank you! Yeah that's fair since on slow cookers it will cook a bit differently.

    I have 2 questions, Can I add water to the chicken stock to make 2 cups, I have garlic cloves. Cut them fine, don't have minced garlic from the store.

    • @blackfootdaisy
      @blackfootdaisy Місяць тому +1

      I do a similar recipe in the oven that uses equal amounts of liquid to rice and it's one of our favorites. I'm thinking it's because the chicken thighs produce moisture/liquid into the equation. I really don't know, but it works!

    • @carolbaughan8768

      @@blackfootdaisy rice will absorb drippings

    • @EatingonaDime
      @EatingonaDime  Місяць тому +1

      Cooking in the crock pot is different as not as much liquid cooks off so we don't use as much liquid when cooking rice in the crock pot.

    Do I have to precook the chicken?

    • @CricketsBay
      @CricketsBay 10 днів тому +1

      She just browned it. She didn't pre-cook it all the way through. It definitely won't taste the same without browning the chicken. This way it tastes a lot like fried chicken. It's very bland and the skin is very slimy and won't brown if you just throw it in the Crock-Pot without browning it first.
