Hi guys! To address some reoccurring comments on this video... I understand what y’all are talking about with my rings. I don’t think about taking them off because I wash my hands frequently when I’m cooking especially when dealing with raw meat. I do get where y’all are coming from though and I appreciate your concern. As far as the cleanliness of my chicken. I do clean it. That yellow part is sometimes very stubborn and won’t come all the way off and that’s completely ok. 😊 For those concerned about “too much salt” it wasn’t salty at all. I make flavorful food, not salty food. Lastly, I don’t measure when I cook. I do apologize to those if you who’ve been asking for precise amounts. The great thing about my recipes, you don’t have to be precise. This dish along with others are very forgiving. I try to be as detailed as I can but I just eyeball when I cook...that’s how I was raised. All in all, if you don’t really like something about my recipes, tweak it to your liking. Scale back or add more. It’s all up to you and what you like. 😊 Just cook with love and 9/10 it’ll turn out delicious! I appreciate all of the love and the constructive criticism as well. Some of you have been very very kind. To those who came back and updated me after you made this dish! Thank you! That really makes my day! Love you guys and I’ll see you in future videos! 😘

It’s 2024 and I just made this last night for the first time. It was THE BOMB! Soooo flavorful and delicious. For the rice, just use any rice you want and follow the cooking instructions on the box. I used 1 cup of Uncle Ben’s white rice and 2 cups of water. Honestly it was really really good. I love onions so I used half an onion. It was PERFECT!
My husband came in from outside and said he hoped what he smelled was what I was cooking, haha! We all loved it. I used regular jasmine rice and used 2 cups rice and 3.5 cups of water. I added mushrooms for my mushroom loving kid, and also used a teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
Just finished making this for my wife and I. She says it's incredible! Thank you for sharing your recipe and making me look like I know what I'm doing! Lol
After the pound cake everyone absolutely loved, I’m making this for supper tonight. Can’t wait. I’m also baking a herb and garlic bread loaf to go with it and a nice salad.
I added mushrooms at about the time the onions were 1/2 cooked (personal thing...I like the s'rooms!). Thanks for the recipe! As for the people who complain about too much salt in this dish, not every dish is for everyone. Low-sodium folks need to watch the oatmeal and boiled carrots videos and stop coming to these videos and complaining.
She was putting way too much salt. She isn't too clean either, mixing food with her ring on, I never saw her wash her hands through the whole video. I'm sure the chicken/rice deliciously salty but I wouldn't eat anything from her kitchen.
@@TM-pj7yu Again, that's a personal preference, I like mushrooms (so I add them). Most people know how to use less salt and add or take away things to dishes according to their personal taste or dietary requirements. I wouldn't mind eating at her house (gotta find out where that line starts), especially on Chicken and Rice Day. I'll bring my own mushrooms.

I am a 75-year-old great-grandmother, always looking for faster and easier ways to cook. My roots are in Mississippi and I had two parents who were excellent cooks...from scratch. My mom owned a restaurant after moving to Baltimore, Md. before I was born, until I was about 12 or 13. My father began teaching me how to cook when I was ten. I said all that to say, I know what I'm doing in the kitchen, very, very well. My thing is that It's no fun cooking and eating alone and so I need to find quick, and easy recipes that don't compromise on flavor. I think this is going to be one of them. The one adjustment for me will be to add some broccoli to the rice before adding the chicken. That way, I don't have to cook my veggies separately. I cook like you do, I eyeball it. When you know what you're doing, measuring really isn't necessary. I checked out several videos, but yours was what I was looking for. Thank you, sweetie, I love your style. I will be checking you out again for some quick and easy recipes. I am no longer cooking for 7-9 people, but I do share with two ladies in my building who are somewhat limited in their abilities, plus I do still love to cook for others.

I love it. You don't need to take your rings off when cooking. Those are precious metals and stones. They won't contaminate the food as long as they're clean.
Jeez. I was thinking "take your rings off!", but it's because I was worried about little bits of raw chicken getting caught in the jewelry! But she cooks all the time, so I imagine she knows better than anyone else whether that's a problem for her or not, and how to deal with it if it is.

I made this tonight and.......O....M.....G. This is the FIRST recipe I have made from an online recipe out of many over the years that came out exactly like the pic and to PERFECTION. Rice was perfect, not mushy. The chicken was moist and perfectly tender.. I didn't have parsley to garnish at the end so I used chopped green onions. Thank you for sharing an easy, no nonsense recipe that is going in my bag of dinner tricks!! Thank you Lady!!!!
Thank you sooo much. Just did this dish tonight. I used chicken broth instead of water. Used my 12 inch Lodge cast iron. This turned out un-freakin-believable!! EXCELLENT recipe. Thank you!!!! Outstanding!!!!
I made this but added my own twist...bell peppers onions tomato chicken tomato boullion frozen peas n carrots in the rice...yum thank you for this idea...you are awesome!!!
I made this dish last night! Next go round I’d add a can of cream of chicken and use thighs. Also I was worried because I didn’t have boil in bag rice. 3 cups water and 1/2 cup regular rice worked perfect. It will definitely be added to my list of go to meals.
How does 3 bags equal half cup regular rice? It should be 2 cups rice per bag? I'm about to do the same thing. 6 cups seems too much but half a cup seems not enough. Lol
I would like to thank you for that. It came out great. I know how to cook but sometimes I get tired of my own cooking and that helped me with variety of flavors
This was delicious. Cooked it tonight, was looking forward to trying this all week. Also we did bone-in thighs instead of drumsticks and it worked great. For those reading, I did a quick measurement and it's 3.5 oz rice per cup of water; we only cooked three thighs tonight so I did 7 oz rice with 2 cups water. Came out so moist and falling-off-the-bone. 10/10 will cook again.
Thank you so much for this update. I’m glad that you made alterations that suited you and it turned out great. I think I’ll use your idea and make this dish with chicken thighs. ☺️
I haven't found a correct measurement for rice in this thread yet. 3.5 Oz of rice is 2 cups. When making rice by instructions it's 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. I'm thinking the rice will cook faster since it is being sautéed first but 3 bags of boil in bag rice would be 6 cups. I know that's way too much rice for this recipe. I've decided to go with 3 cups rice and hope for the best. Lol
I'm gonna make this tonight, thank you so much! Editing to add: my family LOVED this. Served it with a side of peas and some homemade drop biscuits. Big hit, definite winner, will absolutely be making this again. ♥️
Oh my!! Look's delicious! It was making water in my mouth! I was trying to come up with the aroma of it all. Im sure it was a delicious fragrant! Definitely gonna try this recipe very soon!! 🙋🙏❤💜
I made this tonight and my son loved it. He is very picky so I was thrilled. I also added Mozzarella cheese to the top after it was done. Thank you for sharing this meal.
I got a cast iron set for Christmas and it’s so rough and bumpy. I feel like I’m gonna have to use it daily for the next year to get it right. How can I get it smooth? I use wifey Brillo type stuff too to clean it
Oh wow! That’s so simple. I am trying it... seriously. I never knew how to make chicken, I have always been a vegetarian. But my family isn’t and expects me to know how to cook chicken.... 😆😂
Lol It’s all about seasoning ...I dnt eat chicken but I cook it for my family and they always say how can you cook chicken so good but dnt eat it lol 🤷🏽♀️
Just wanted to drop a comment of gratitude while I’m sitting on my couch chowing down on this delicious recipe. It was so simple and even though I used chicken thighs and basmati rice it came out perfectly ❤🙏🏾❤
No lie, I make this, for my dog, everyday. He's allergic to something. Chicken and rice is what our vet told us to try. He loves it. I only use; chicken, regular white rice, pumpkin (for fiber), and powdered cooked eggshell (for calcium). No onion (poisonous for dogs), no seasoning at all. Once, in a while, I'll add some bacon grease. It's cheaper than name brand canned food (plus I know everything I put in mine is good). The wife likes it too... Albeit without the pumpkin and eggshells... With onion, garlic and spices.
It looks delicious as heck, but to be honest I would only eat it if I didn’t see how you make the chicken. I’m Haitian, and we have a weird ass way of cleaning, seasoning and cooking our meat. You didn’t clean your meat🤢Mama doesn’t eat out cause of that, but I don’t care as long I didn’t see, look good, taste good then I’m down. My friends always said by the time my meat is done all the vitamins are gone, but trust and believe your taste buds will thank you. I was not raise with McDonald’s around each corner, so these fingers know their way around that kitchen. Great video, and I love your voice.
I made this about two weeks ago. AMAZING!!! 🙌 making it again tonight. I remove the skin, brine for 30 mins, use 4 legs, Cajun seasoning, and use an insta-rice pouch.. top 3 dishes of my short 32 year life.. HIGHLY recommend!
Lannie Bass girl you don’t want any scars on your skin. Put the heat down next time, or use something to protect you from that grease. My people always say “you ain’t a woman yet if you have not burn.” I disagree! I told my mama, and my man I will never be a woman then😂😂😂 I do know how to cook pretty well, but I protect my skin. Always!!!
@@nicolew6904 "Seasonings" does NOT equate to salt. Regardless, the dish looks great but I would replace both the boullion and water with chicken broth instead. Chicken broth will still provide the flavor yet you'll have less sodium and no MSG. Boullion cubes contain MSG which is why I stopped using them.
A solid, straight to the point presentation - no muss, no fuss. For novices like me, though, actual measurements would be very helpful! Will be trying it tonight with thighs instead of legs....we'll see what happens...
I love ❤️ you. I can’t believe how delicious this meal is. I saw your video and took out my cast iron pan and followed your instructions. My son was starving and we looked in the oven after 45 minutes and bingo. It looked just like your video beautiful dish. So we sat down to eat and I couldn’t believe the rice is so delicious and chicken was tender. Appreciate your talent cause I can’t cook. 😂 I’m going to look at your other videos. Thanks.
My grandparents cooked with cast iron. Definitely game changer, the food holds flavor and cooks evenly. Chicken with rice is one my favorite, not one can do one pan chicken and rice like my grandfather's Cajun spice one pan chicken with rice. This video had me picturing them in kitchen now.
Made this last night. So good and all in one large skillet. Wife and kids loved it. I used chicken thighs. Thank you Lannie Bass. Keep up the good work.
That looks so good. I think that I have all of the ingredients to make this dish without having to go to the market. I can’t wait to try it. Yum 😋. Thanks !!!
I grew up having chicken and rice also and stuffing in chicken, but I never fried my chicken before I put it in its no need because when it's almost done if you take the foil off of it and let it brown. bon appetit.

I would just swallow this meal there's no need to be chewing ok. This is really delicious I can see it. Great Job
Thank you so much! ❤️
😁 They say uou supposed to chew 42 times for proper digestion.
My kinda woman 😋
😂😂😂😂 same
I would like to thank you for that. It came out great. I know how to cook but sometimes I get tired of my own cooking and that helped me with variety of flavors
greg hunter thank you for watching and giving this recipe a try! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
@@LannieBass Awesome!! Thanks for being a great cook and sharing your tricks with us.
Sounds great! I’m so glad y’all enjoyed it! ❤️
I’m actually about to try this right now….I was wondering what I was going to make for dinner
I've just ordered a skillet just so I can make this, true story
Awesome! You’re going to love your skillet! My favorite kitchen tool!
@@LannieBass Can't wait for it to come, your chicken & rice is the 1st thing I'm making 🤤
You'll use it for so many dishes!
@@abwarmblood1780 I've got few already in the pipe line lol
I just bought a better larger skillet today for this recipe, in the oven right now....
This is the kind of meal I cooked when my children were young, ah the memories.....
I tried this for the first time tonight! Added some more of my own seasonings. DELICIOUS! 😋
This thread warms my heart. There are many men cooking for their spouses and vice versa, so awesome.
❤️
The music got me, I was just bopping
😂 thank you! I appreciate you watching!
I’m making this tonight!!! I had chicken legs thawing in the fridge over night.
This looks straight up good!
Thank you for sharing 🙂
Making this tomorrow, thanks for sharing!
When I move into my place I’m go be cheffin this a whole lot! Lol looks amazing
This looks so lovely...adobo is one of my favourite flavours 🥰
Party of 6 thank you! I just started using Adobo about a year ago and now I’m hooked! Lol!
Love this woman, calming voice and the food looks real good
I made this and it was delicious! I couldn’t find bouillon cubes that said with herbs so I just used what I had. It was 10/10! Thanks for sharing!
I made this tonight for my Mom and I. We both enjoyed it. Thank you for a great and easy recipe !
Wonderful! I’m so glad y’all enjoyed it!
That cast iron skillet looks great. You should do a video on how to season cast iron. Well....if you haven't already. Great video.
Thank you so much! I will definitely consider your suggestion! 😊
@@LannieBass
Greatly appreciated. I'm new to cast iron. I heard it takes work, your pan looks amazing. I'm looking forward to trying your dish.
Yes, please do
I got a cast iron set for Christmas and it’s so rough and bumpy. I feel like I’m gonna have to use it daily for the next year to get it right. How can I get it smooth? I use wifey Brillo type stuff too to clean it
@@modaciouslav4792 you will need to grind the rough down with power tools, this is the reason, I buy vintage or Cabela's, has good cast iron.
I'm going to try this looks yummy
Oh wow! That’s so simple. I am trying it... seriously. I never knew how to make chicken, I have always been a vegetarian. But my family isn’t and expects me to know how to cook chicken.... 😆😂
Yes! Super easy and delicious. Even my picky 2 year old eats this. Lol! I hope it turns out great for your family if you give it a try. 😊
Lol It’s all about seasoning ...I dnt eat chicken but I cook it for my family and they always say how can you cook chicken so good but dnt eat it lol 🤷🏽♀️
Giving this a try as I love quick and delicious meals! 😋❤️
I have made this since about 3 1/2 years maybe four since she first put it up and it is delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
Ooooohhhhh, this looks sooo good!!
This is instant wifey kind of cooking 🤣
😂 Thanks! I think my husband shares your sentiments. 😊
@@LannieBass indeed! my boyfriend loves it when i cook these types of meals for him!!!
@Adrienne Adrienne you are so rude! Who are you to judge I'm sure you don't have a husband or a man so stop hating little girl bye!
This looks absolutely delicious
I made this recipe a few times, i grew up with eyeballing to Lol. Turned out great every time. Hubby n kids enjoyed 😊
Just wanted to drop a comment of gratitude while I’m sitting on my couch chowing down on this delicious recipe. It was so simple and even though I used chicken thighs and basmati rice it came out perfectly ❤🙏🏾❤
Awesome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! ❤️
This is for real food porn🤤🤤. I will do this but substitute the chicken with fish and shrimp instead since I don't eat chicken.
Those are great substitutions! Remix it and make it your own. 😉
A family favorite for a while now. Thank you!
That grease is tearin up them arms fa sho! Poppin everywhere
😂 I’m used to it.
Lannie Bass girl you don’t want any scars on your skin. Put the heat down next time, or use something to protect you from that grease. My people always say “you ain’t a woman yet if you have not burn.” I disagree! I told my mama, and my man I will never be a woman then😂😂😂
I do know how to cook pretty well, but I protect my skin. Always!!!
The rice must be super salty! Adobo seasoning AND boullion has a lot of salt and she put a lot in there.
Not at all. It was seasoned perfectly. ☺️
Some people like highly seasoned food. But that was too much for me too. I'm sure we'll all make adjustments.
Black people pronounce chicken so differently, I mean when they say "Chicken" it sounds cooked already
😂😂😂 I never heard that before but that is hilarious! Lol!
Thanks.
I love this recipe! We cook it all the time at my house.
I’m so glad to hear that! ❤️
you did a beautiful job.....rings and all keep bringing us delicious and nutritious recipes may God continue to bless you and your channel!!!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Hands down the best chicken and rice I’ve ever had!! This will be my new family staple.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad that you and your family love it! ❤️
Chicken and rice is one of my favorites. I will try your recipe. Thank you!
This chicken and rice dish is a staple in my kitchen… I love it. Thank you so much for this amazing recipe.
My pleasure! 😊
Made this last night. So good and all in one large skillet. Wife and kids loved it. I used chicken thighs. Thank you Lannie Bass. Keep up the good work.
That looks so good. I think that I have all of the ingredients to make this dish without having to go to the market. I can’t wait to try it. Yum 😋. Thanks !!!
Wow this looks very easy to make and so delicious. Thanks for the recipe ❤️
I grew up having chicken and rice also and stuffing in chicken, but I never fried my chicken before I put it in its no need because when it's almost done if you take the foil off of it and let it brown. bon appetit.
Great tutorial. Simple and to the point. Easy to customize "salt, rings or whatever! ". Easy to see your putting love in the pan not just chicken.
Thank you so much! ❤️
I made this today from your recipe. Very good! Thanks!
Hey Lannie! Just made this dish for the 7th time since a few months ago. Thank you for putting this video out, it is INCREDIBLE! Please more videos!!! 😎🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔💪💪
