Oh, I sure enjoyed that Jonathan. With every revolution of the wheels the Castle seemed to be saying, "more, give me more." I think it would have managed a few more coaches but what a superb train. The restaurant car is simply gorgeous. The poor old UK sure has been battered by the weather this winter. We have been a little damp but very mild. We are expecting that to change very soon and to be down to -18c overnight by late next week. Take care, David.
HNY to you. Lovely running session. Don't know whether you recall me mentioning I needed my Doublo City of London repaired, but due to the probable need to re-magnatize it, I was worried that it would never again run, as I did not have the means to re-magnetize it? Anyway, OOBill was kind enough to repair it for me. It was a fine runner from the time I received it back, but after an hours' running in, it was virtually flying around the track, hauling 8 super-detailed tinplate BR crimson coaches! It was great to see it working after decades of non-use, as my dad and I used to love watching it charge around our layout. As you say, these locos are 50+ years old, but can still haul huge loads. Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year to you too, It sounds like he did a great job renovating your loco. They are very powerful and I bet it looks great with all those coaches. Thanks for watching, all the best to you
@MrSnooze Yes, it's the loco my dad & I used to enjoy watching the most as it flew down the straights back in the 1970s. Well, it's doing the exact same thing now in the 2020s, having been built in the late 50s!
Seems to be a bit of weather about both hemispheres. Getting nastier every year. The Castle looks to be in great condition there Mr Snooze, not to mention the coaches. But that Class 20 is a terrific runner, didn't notice one stutter. I've seen a few claim these are not the best runners, but that must surely come down to poorly fitted tyres. Enjoyed the run very much. Steven.
Thanks for watching Steven, these old Dublo Class 20's are excellent items so long as you pay special attention to the axles and pickups. Also good quality tyres play a large part too. Fitting carefully with no twists usually gets them running well. Best regards to you
Hello, I have seen the newer Hornby Dublo labelled items and they do look very detailed, also very expensive too. If I ever build a modern layout It would be fun to try one out but for now I'll stick with these vintage items. Thanks for looking, all the best to you

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Hornby Dublo Locomotives now being produced. Happy New Year Mr and Mrs Snooze

I'm surprised you haven't got any Grafar/ Graham farish 00 gauge locomotives and rolling stock as they are very few in videos that I've seen
I have a few odd parts but no complete locos, yet. Maybe one day. Take care, all the best to you
