Hello and thanks for looking. I was searching for some items in my workshop the other day and came across this excellent 1949 Clockwork Hornby 201 Trainset 'O' Gauge. Watch as I show you what's included in the box and give it a try out. It's still great fun to use even though it's 75 years old.
What a lovely item.
Sometimes its just fun to get back to basics.
Indeed, it's lovely just to spend a few minutes running this. All the best to you
Had one very similar about 65 years ago. Just got back into Model Trains. Boy have they changed!!
It's like most things today, the advances in technology are amazing. Thanks for looking, all the best to you
Great to see you back Mr S! Great little Engine & set
I'm glad you liked seeing it. Best regards to you
Great to see you back online.
What an excellent mixed traffic set you have shown us.
Wonderful.
The item in the yard. A search light maybe?
I have a Super 4 layout now if you have time to check it out.
Look forward to seeing more content from you.
Stay safe and happy modelling
Well done Mon, a WWII Searchlight. Best regards to you
Nice to see you back again.. I'm 74 and I 'm afraid that I am not running as well as the old train set.. How wonderful to have owned a "toy" with such longevity? No batteries required? Perhaps we need "C.V's" in the future (Clockwork vehicles not E.V's) ..
A clockwork car, sounds interesting. Maybe self winding by he sun. All the best to you
Hello Mr. Snooze. I have not been getting notifications from YT for some time now so I missed this one. Incredible is all I can say about the tin plate set. It is in the best condition of any I have seen from that period. As others have said it looks like you have a search light in the yard.
Kind regards, David.
Good to hear from you David, I'm glad you liked the clockwork set. You are right about the Searchlight. Best regards to you
@@MrSnooze So now begs the question, "What are you planning to do with a searchlight?"
Welcome back mr snooze, lovely Finish on the exposed stone walls .And that train set has been well looked after, i agree with others looks like a massive search light on a trailer. All the best cheers bob.
Correct guess Bob, Thanks for looking, all the best to you
Well, hello Mr Snooze. I was looking at my channel subscriptions the other day and saw yours. I wondered when you would surface again. What a wonderful train set. It must have brought such delight to whoever received it. I hope it was one of those large presents under the Christmas tree. 😊
I pop up for air occasionally. Thanks for looking, all the best to you
Aha clockwork, I do declare you're winding us up lol. Very enjoyable.
It's fun to run these, thanks for looking
A wonderful set, I can see a repair coming at some point in the future.
I will try to film the repair, hopefully soon. All the best to you
What a wonderful thing to find in the workshop!! I started with railway modelling in 1960 with a nice little train set with clockwork locomotive, two carriages and an oval of 0 gauge track with level crossing.
I hope you still have them. All the best to you
If I had to hazard a guess, the mysterious green object lurking in your backyard is a spotlight or searchlight of kind. If I’m correct, do I get cookies?
Nice to see you back with a new video, seems like you’ve been busy!
Yes looks like the sort of spotlight you would have alongside an anti aircraft gun.
@@andrewhead6267 I guess we’ll find out soon enough when Mr. Snooze checks the comments.
Thanks for looking, It's a WWII Searchlight. Take care
I was given my first model railway when i was 5 in 1953. It was a Triang shop window display layout. OO electric with 46201 Princess Elisabeth locomotive an d 2 coaches. It was double track with full scenery in coloured bakerlite. It was mounted on a 7 ply board, I had many happy years using it.
That sounds an excellent item. I bet you had a lot of fun with that. All the best to you
Your locomotive is very similar to the one I had. It was used until the spring broke!! For a three year old boy like I was in 1960, the clockwork Hornby was the most appropriate thing for me!!
I'm looking forward to mending the brake. Thanks for looking
i remember in 195` my father setting up an o gauge train set it had the lner tank but also an lms tender engine we had coaches but no wagons i think but cannot be sure they would have been handme downs from my uncle who was much more wealthy than him
They are interesting to run and quite fast too
For some reason I am thinking the green object is a search light ?
You are 100% correct. WWII. All the best to you
Green object search light ?
100% correct, from WWII. Thanks for looking, all the best to you
1951 sorry
Thanks for the info, I have no books to help me date these. Best regards to you
