Lol the blessed have far more than just their wealth. The poor and middle class people I’ve come across were poor in manners, conduct, hard work, education (dropping out and refusing to learn new ways), personality, attitude, speech and track record too. That’s precisely how they maintained their poverty.
No offense, but the old NY families are Dutch and English (Knickerbockers) and exist since pre Revolutionary war times. The Newhouses have wealth and power no doubt, but they are not what is known as ‘old’ money.
The MET 2024 was a flop of epic proportions. Absolutely ridiculous costumes, that’s not fashion, it’s circus attire. NYC has gone to hell. Perhaps these “old money” families can clean up the cesspool.
These old NYC families have not invested anything building up any communities that can use a helping hands. Least they can do build communities centers , day care centers for working mothers, etc!
