I'd like to ask you to investigate financial institutions who try to force customers to stay in credit card or other loan debt by threatening to close customer accounts with $0 balances for x-months at a time. This activity is currently legally allowed and the result is that if the accounts are closed, customer credit ratings are negatively impacted, via the change in their debt-to-credit ratios. If you could please investigate all the major financial institutions, to find out which ones practice this predatory indebtedness behavior and which ones don't, as well as the reasons they each give for why they do or don't, I would really appreciate that. American consumers are being entrapped in this catch-22 because it hasn't been brought to the forefront, and that needs to change. Credit ratings are used for everything from signing up for utilities to job application processes and housing seeking activities. The financial institutions who practice this entrapping behavior are threatening peoples' futures, no matter what their customers do, because they aren't allowing customers to put their accounts on indefinite holds that go beyond the x-months limit. The financial institutions doing that is crazy. Credit cards in particular are for "rainy days"/emergencies, not perpetual use. They aren't cash-based bank accounts, but our laws are treating them as if they are. This has got to change, but it won't until this gets reported on. Thanks for considering this request!

As an Amazon seller, I can honestly say that that they don’t care about us. They invite you to sell on their platform and when you find items to resell or even have them manufactured, they gather this data and then go,directly to the manufacturer and undercut you and you are stuck with inventory you can no longer sell at a profit. With time you have to learn to time it and get in and get out before Amazon takes you out.

My son went from working hard on a hay farm to being a package driver for Amazon for one dollar more an hour. He loved it at first but that love quickly wore off. As he kept making his delivery time goals each week, they kept pushing him more and more without any bonuses. It was never good enough. He was working 12 hour shifts. He was exhausted, going up flights up stairs carrying packages daily. The better he was, they more they worked him until he completely gave out. Once he tripped on a step snd he was terrified to tell management so he wouldn't get yelled at n get a mark against him or get fired. I cleaned his elbow and super glued his elbow skin together and put butterfly stitches on it and sent him back to work. A year later, after 2 years of no raises, tighter goals to meet, no recognition for safety, and reaching his goals, he gave up n quit.
What people don’t realize is that you cannot continually improve and grow as a company without having employee turnover. At Amazon, they have obviously realized that they MUST have high turnover to keep improving and growing. Why? Human beings want comfort and stability. When humans are comfortable, they like staying comfortable. A comfortable organization, just like a comfortable person, will stop improving. You cannot improve your abilities and talents without discomfort. So, Amazon realized that every human has a limit, and that people will leave when they reach that limit. It’s a simple factor that Amazon has accepted and built into its business model. It sucks for the burned out employee, but there are 100 people waiting to take every employee’s position. Especially the positions that require little talent or skill (like driving, sorting packages, pushing buttons and pulling levers). Keeping people in those positions for 5-10 years isn’t realistic so rather than struggling to make employees stay, Amazon sees it as a natural process and they’ve set up their business to account for natural human behavior. As soon as the high turnover positions and work can be done by AI and robots, there will be no more of those jobs. Right now it’s just cheaper to cycle people through those positions, accepting that people will leave after an average of __ months on the job. If people want a comfy place to work, they shouldn’t choose to work for any of the most successful organizations in the world.

Eh no. Both of those statements suggested, can be true at the same time, namely that wealth can make a person evil and it can expose that evil in oneself. I would suggest that it is very difficult to resist the recruitment to evil that wealth invites one into the belly of. Name me one example, other than Chuck Feeney who GAVE up their wealth completely to do good.
@@cdeignan47 I disagree. The actions you take and choices you make are yours and yours alone. Others may influence you, but evil is inside all of us. Like others and the op have said, it simply draws out the true self. Poverty tends to cause people to exhibit humility and wealth the opposite. The duality exists in all of us and cannot be extinguished. God bless brother! 🙏🙌

As a former delivery driver for two different courier companies. I must say, the second company i worked for, were the ones to bring out Amazon’s tactics. At the first place, i started off easy with 130 deliveries a day for a 10hr shift. The company would automatically pay us 10 hrs even if we worked less than that. The next day, i had 250 deliveries and all in gated communities. I quit the job when i was on my 120th delivery and stuck arguing with a security guard about the delivery. The second company i worked for, i showed up at 5AM, got the van loaded and during dispatch announcement, the dispatcher told us all, “if you know your route, take your time and dont rush it. The more you run, the more theyll give you” The restroom was also nonexistent as they had me in Calabasas, CA. Most houses, i couldnt even walk up to the door without having a security guard meeting me at the sidewalk. When the dispatcher let me know of Amazons tactics, i began working much less and got to the point where i would spread my 10 hr shift to the point id be able to go back home, make brealfast, lunch and grab a snack and drink prior to it being 5PM

What I find so tragic is that if you have just a surface level understanding of labor history in this country you notice that since the 1990s our labor rights have been crushed to such a degree that we are actually going backwards in labor relations with employers is back in the 1820s in that our rights as workers are dying by degrees.

Few times in history has 1 man and 1 entity been such a resounding signifier of everything that is wrong in a given society and economy. These anti democratic top down organisations of people for the production of goods and services that pays them far less than the wealth they produce per hour allowing the handful at the top to extract the remainder and grant it unto themselves via unearned income of dividends which are taxed at half the rate of the workers who produced that wealth, will either end on civil terms or to borrow a phrase from science fiction, these economically violent delights of the rich unto many, will have bloody violent ends. Presently 8 people have more wealth than the bottom 3.5 billion combined, that is the culminating result of 400 years of capitalism, the majority of the west getting poorer, the rest going sideways and a handful getting richer than god himself could count.
@Sal DiMarchese I agree but we should also remember the politicians do as they please regardless of workers because the capitalists do as they please by buying the politicians via those lobbyists to make the politicians behave as they do. Red or blue or green or pink with spots it matters not. To the capitalists mind, Democracy must never be allowed to systemically alter economic policy. The problem is not corrupt government, that's a symptom. The problem is the top down anti democratic economic system bolted to it that over centuries has corrupted democracies to varying degrees to ensure the rich minority and their interests are served before the majority, no matter who that majority votes for.

Sounds like a corporation.

I remember people talking about Jeff Bezos' keen interest in middle school boys in Bloomington, IN during the 1990s. The reason for his baldness is relatively apparent. Amazon hires lots of "seasonal" employees who are paid less and not given benefits, that permanent employees receive, to work indefinitely without reviews or change in status to being permanent.
The more you run, the more theyll give you”
The restroom was also nonexistent as they had me in Calabasas, CA. Most houses, i couldnt even walk up to the door without having a security guard meeting me at the sidewalk.
When the dispatcher let me know of Amazons tactics, i began working much less and got to the point where i would spread my 10 hr shift to the point id be able to go back home, make brealfast, lunch and grab a snack and drink prior to it being 5PM
right on!. game the system trying to abuse you
I experienced this myself!
the warehouse workers need to follow this mindset, too. They keep pushing to see what the people will tolerate. Stop tolerating the absurd rates and work at a comfortable pace.
Thanks for sharing this.
I love your documentaries. I put them on the back screen while I work and I always learn something new. The material is very well researched, compelling, educational and thought provoking. Keep it up!

It's simple, if you don't like how a corporation operates stop supporting it.
Then try to stop using AWS services.
@@Canleaf08 Amazon runs on Oracle. So one could just switch to Oracle. Most people will tell you this is difficult. It is not.
@@JeffScott-1978 Switching your entire back end services as a small to midsize business is extremely difficult. As a general consumer, it is inevitable that you will be supporting a business that uses AWS for their cloud computing needs. Unless you live off grid, AWS is unavoidable.

Every Amazon executive should be required to work full-time in a fulfillment center and as a driver for at least 6 months and then 1 week every year for the next few years as a part of what I’d call "leadership empathy training." Especially Jeff Wilke.

Inspiring & kinda terrifying
How the hell is that inspiring?
@Isaac Fernandez but why inspiring? He is the product of a sick, sick society that allows disgusting levels of wealth to be amassed by a tiny group of individuals, giving them unprecedented levels of leverage and undemocratic power, and depriving society of access to the very basics of life. That should not 'inspire' anyone!
Totally agree, it inspires to build and believe on your projects and illusions.
Cant wait for the wheels to fall off it, or it take a knock and throw everyone into space! Stick to websites!
@@kenbar4761 it's inspiring that someone built such an empire and yes he had help but he did it in our lifetime.
What I find so tragic is that if you have just a surface level understanding of labor history in this country you notice that since the 1990s our labor rights have been crushed to such a degree that we are actually going backwards in labor relations with employers is back in the 1820s in that our rights as workers are dying by degrees.
What was labour relations like in America in the 1820's? Not a very good track record. Australia has also got a dismissal history so don't feel alone.
YES
@@paulnoorbergen3514 I think they meant 1920's. Then, labor and environmental protections were expanded significantly. Right now, our economy looks at lot like the early 20's. Monopolies, extreme wealth disparity, etc.
Oh absolutely, but the young Americans, and it’s happening in Australia too, are insistent that this doesn’t matter and lack the history/ knowledge of labour laws, losses, basic economics, consumerism and the knowledge of itinerant workers from 1930+ to the present.
This is due to the insane lobbying that is present in american politics, it is bordering on corruption, in fact it is but we call it lobbying.
No, it is corruption, idk why i even said bordering on
39:00 talking to Amazon about unions is ridiculous. What are they going to say? We absolutely could never run this business in a unionized environment? It’s absolutely true that their business entirely counts upon exploitation of workers.
It is a great video thanks for the great information and well delivered. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Bezos is the personification of capitalism taken to the extremes.
it's a piece of crap that receives state subsidies for Amazon and Blue Origin ... what a joke.
Presently 8 people have more wealth than the bottom 3.5 billion combined, that is the culminating result of 400 years of capitalism, the majority of the west getting poorer, the rest going sideways and a handful getting richer than god himself could count.
that's not at all tru
@@oomahuntressprotectress848 What isn't?
Wow. This was an absolutely incredible documentary. Equal parts inspiring, thought-provoking, and cautionary. Great Job Frontline.

The reporter's ability to keep a straight face while so many psychopaths lie to his face is comendable.
That is what I saw, yet he refuses to call out what is an obvious lie based upon historical examples.
Commendable! Facts! All I kept thinking about is how strong his rapport is, or this is the non judgmental vibration that a great interrogator uses because my vibe and body language WOULD BE SCREAMING "YOU'RE A MUfFING LIAR AND THAT MAN HAS EITHER PAID YOU SO MUCH MONEY THAT YOU SAID EFF IT, OR JEFF'S GOT A WILD VIDEO TAPE OF YOU WITH 2 DONKEY'S, AND A LIST OF OTHER THINGS DOING WHO KNOWS WHAT. I was about to comment on how these "executives" squirm and ramble, spewing whatnots, talking in circles when asked the important questions.
They know exactly what they are doing. I wouldn't doubt that the CIA or whatever other agencies are funding Amazon and their 'spy' equipment and abilities.
I don't possess any of these gadgets. Also, I'm fairly certain that I am being "watched" and listened to due to the few items I have in my home such as laptop, phone and T.V.. A friend of mine and I audibly heard a voice coming from my laptop. What did it say...damn! I can't recall. But, we heard it. There have been times when a laptop I had would turn itself on, even though it was closed. It was military issued. The laptop.
I don't care, because I have nothing to hide. My attitude is, "Go ahead. Watch me eat, sleep, shit, f*ck, drink and smoke". I really don't care.
“Ideas are the easy part. Execution is everything.” Couldn't be more right.
@Michael Ransom nonsense. How many people have thought about curing cancer? How many people have cured cancer? That is literally what he means by execution is harder than the idea.
@Michael Ransom Thanks for the replies and the interest, my friends!
I can only talk by my own experience. I've had some good enough ideas in my lifetime. But I've been only capable of properly executing just a few... I can think of many things, but I don't know/can't make them possible or real.
If I would, I probably would be millionaire!... :D '¬¬

@Michael Ransom Thank you, Michael!
@Michael Ransom Having the right idea at the right time is difficult, but managing to make it real is even more difficult. Anyone can have an idea, but not everybody knows/can/is lucky to materialize it. A good example that comes to my mind now is Nikola Tesla. He thought and invented many things, but most of them got stolen from him or he didn't manage to make them work successfully...

You can see the guilt in the eyes of the Amazon executives when they answer some of the harder questions dealing with ethical issues.
Every company has problems to solve and I do believe Amazon is working on them. Amazon does so much and is so large they must keep on top of many problems to be solved for customer and employee satisfaction. They probably keep goals and promises in the forefront of their business plans.
I wish we could see the guilt in our politicians eyes, confronting the fact that the way they run the government creates such bad outcomes for so many millions of Americans.
But let's talk about Amazon...

My favorite is "Would you say that?" and they reply "What we can say is..."
He’s not lying that’s not in their culture he’s just impatient cause the interviewer asked him a dumb question about automation costing jobs in the beginning when the reversed was true, and it’s funny how when elon musk automates he’s whole company he’s met with applause but amazon should be told off just goes to show they’ll love you until you get to a certain size and they’ll try to tear you down
